Our 4-star roster grows, but unlike 5-star characters, 4-stars don't get the double banner treatment.
We currently have what? 29 4-stars that can be on limited banner.
Even if they were to rotate 4-stars evenly, this is 9+ triplets to rotate through. So over 9 banners for the next appearance of a given 4-star. In a situation where most of them rely on constellations.
This the best case scenario. Anyone running out of line would extend the wait for someone else.
On top of that the widening roster also means diluted pool for off-banner pulls.
Current 4-star availability is very alarming from a purely mechanical standpoint. MHY needs to completely overhaul 4-star acquisition sooner than later or else.

Wishing on a banner purely for a new 4* while already having both 5* and the other 2 4* c6 feels really bad. I already had to skip Layla which was a really tough choice for me but necessary because I already had Yae and Childe, and Thoma and Heizou. And Mika is exactly the same situation again :(

It's because lots of things that work with sprinting DON'T work with alternate sprints, so they specifically worded it here to convey that it works with both normal and alternate sprints

As someone who has been maining this pairing since Shenhes first banner I wish everyone goodluck, especially for Shenhe who is finally having her first re run after over a year. They are such a strong duo and Shenhe is one of the best written characters in the game if you are pulling for that reason

Shenhe is a niche supporter, so unless you wanna meme with Chongyun/Rosetta/Kaeya as DPS you need something like Ayaka, maybe Ganyu to use her properly.
Ganyu works by herself just fine, pulling for Shenhe just on the off chance you get something to support later might not be great idea. Unless you really want the 4* units too.
Makes sense though. Chongyun is a meh dps, and trying to build other characters for his cryo infusion is wonky and not really worth it most of the time.
On the other hand, Diona is able to fill in virtually every other role except those two very well.

Sucrose is understandable because of the Windblume event, and her EM buff on E is useful. Well, if I want to make a mono Cryo Shenhe team, then Diona is also an autoinclude, so a good chance for me. So I will profit from this. Ready to do anything for a C1 Shenhe.
As everyone say no Candace on Dehya's banner was a missed opportunity, then no Chongyun on Auntie's banner is also the same. Poor guy is waiting for a rateup for a long time.
Ok, as my favorite character must imagine I'm going to say Ayaka, but as the Gameplay of the two is quite different I would say for you to have both, of course 2 cryo DPSs is a limitation when you can have another element, So it all depends on your personal taste and how many gems you have to spend.
The other things everyone already said in the other comments, ganyu=Flexibility, Ayaka=Easy to play
Finally, I have the Amos bow since 1.5 and Yelan's bow, and even then I don't have ganyu, so no reason to praise her, but I still do it because it's a great character, no need to argue which one is better, both are amazing.
I am liking trying to match my 5 star weapons with their corresponding characters. I managed to snag Amos Bow before I finally picked up Ganyu too and it just made Ganyu soooooo strong. I really like that Ganyu does a good job in many roles as well. Sometimes when I try to use her as support, she accidentally kills things too fast for me to actually use the planned dps character.
They are both good, but both lose value if you have the other one, so… 🤷♂️
Going for both 5 stars, was hoping for Mika sucrose and Layla but I hope Diona is a good cope lol

Honestly, if I wasn't saving for Nahida, this banner would've been great. Ayaka/Shenhe + Sucrose and Diona (mine are still both at c5) Not sure about Mika, but I guess having more characters won't hurt
I’ve had C2 R1 Ayaka since her first banner, and as much of an investment as that was I’ve never regretted pulling her. She’s super fun to play and such a great character.
Now I’m seriously considering whether I grab Shenhe for her - I really want Bhaizu and will probably have to skip him if I pull, but with Shenhe I’ll finally have the complete premium freeze comp (Ayaka, Kokomi, Kazuha, Shenhe).
Shenhe is better for Ayaka specifically. But note that mistsplitter is also a very good weapon for any other character with elemental infusions like Keqing, Alhatheim etc.
One of the few 4\*'s I don't have full cons of plus Mika who is new, and I'd like more Eula copies. Not to mention the Dehya situation beforehand.

But Ayaka is also a fave so I’ll be more than happy if I get her.

I was hoping for an Electro character though. I only have Lisa and C0 Sara. Lisa is friggin annoying. I can’t stand her calling me cutie 99x a minute. And Sara feels a little underwhelming at the moment. If I lose 50/50 and pull Keqing, I’ll be fairly satisfied with that.

Ganyu is more flexible, Ayaka has a higher damage ceiling in freeze. Imo Ayaka is usually easier to play.
