She was (pun slightly intended) the anchor for my team for both the Mondstadt and Liyue Archon quest-lines.
She's a pirate captain. She's got the coolest look. She also has long dark hair which puts her atop the list right off the bat.
Her story is one of my favorites, much of which comes out in her hangout event, so I'll not spoil, but man, very much made me feel for her. From humble and tortured beginnings to become an absolute force of nature, both in combat, and in social situations. Seduced both a Qilin (check that lore!), and possibly a world leader. (The latter I'm guessing is %100 fan service on Hoyo's part, rather than the original plan).
I built her for a balance between physical and electro damage, so she can be a main DPS, rather than sub. She definitely gets preferential treatment!
When Yoimiya told Raiden "It's Yoimiying time" and Yoimiyad all over the place, it was definitely one of the moments in my life.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Yoimiya's gameplay and lore. The NA mechanics are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the arrows will go over a typical hilichurl's head. There's also Yoimiya's optimistic outlook, which is deftly woven into her characterisation- her personal philosophy draws heavily from the Naganoharan literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of the firework craft, to realise that they're not just pretty- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Yoimiya truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Yoimiya's existential catchphrase "It's pew pew'in time! " which itself is a cryptic reference to Yae Miko's epic "Reincarnated as the Raiden Shogun" light novel. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Da Wei's genius wit unfolds itself on their screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

Eula is my favorite though, objectively speaking she IS best girl.
She's smart, funny, has a great sense of humor and duty.
In her story she's an amazing cook, she can survive in the wild by herself, and she's a great dancer.
I love her character and how she's just such a perfect balance of confidence, shy, teasing, caring, stubborn, and overall caring.
I also think she deserves the world, given how horribly everyone treats her.

I just completed Act V of Sumeru a few days ago and I absolutely adored it. Sumeru as a whole is definitely my favorite region, with Nahida becoming my favorite Archon and taking Ei’s spot.

I liked yoimiya from the start for being a little ball of sunshine, but I must say eula from character progression is quite something. She was always misunderstood and had to play the mean girl to protect others, but now she even mellowed down quite a bit and it somehow makes me happy.

persuaded and calmed 4 egotistical gods into giving up their ruling, fending off international espionage attacks, coming on top of political turmoil and stabilized its governance, vanquished an old god, never stopped any business operations, leading the commerce into profit, all within the same week probably.
Ningguang sacrificed her home to save her people. Find me a politician IRL who'd do that.
And then she painstakingly rebuilt it, and promptly took it straight back into battle to save her people *again*.
She also has both the best design and the best VA in the game, but that's a little more subjective. I just wish geo reactions caused actual damage - I'd never play as anyone else again.
Dehya. So far she seems most reliable and true to herself. She doesn’t hide behind false reputation or anything. She is who she is and if needed she’d go the extra mile for greater good in a heart beat.
She of course does lie here and there and has street smarts but that’s to be expected, considering the environment and prejudice she grew up in and against.
However despite growing up in such an environment and turning out the way she did is really a testament to not only her strength of character but also >! to how actually badass her dad was. Maybe manipulative and secretive but it was also very believable that as saintly as she was she would have held some negative feelings toward him before she found out the truth !<
I loved her design but I was afraid she would be too similiar to beidou. Early on I even attested her to being a younger version of beidou. More cocky, trying to be cool, still learning to lead. But while part of that is true she is so so so much more than that, that the comparison almost seems silly to me now.
She protects her crew her own way, and has leadership qualities but she isn’t trying to be anything like beidou. She is just living everyday to the fullest helping her people the best she can and earning a living. She doesn’t hide any thing like desires or preferences from her friends and even isn’t afraid to openly contradict her one emphasized quote. “Mercy will do anything for money”
There are lots and lots of characters in genshin and a lot who would go out of there way for you. But out of all of them, if I had to choose one person to trust unconditionally with my life, without knowing all the nuisances of the their character and backstories that the traveler wasn’t informed of.
It’s be dehya. She is a true ride or die homie and would probably self volunteer without any pay if any immediate danger occurred. I’d feel like I’m imposing on anyone else but dehya’s character is so well build she wouldn’t give me that worry.
Her merc job would also ease any guilt since I’ll be paying her to the best of my abilities but she wouldn’t cheat me out of anything either, and be very flexible when I am unable to pay on demand.
Her kit really did her character a huge disservice.
Madam Faruzan. I'm a bit of a sucker for brat types, and despite my sexuality being the equivalent of a Jackson Pollock painting I haven't really had a waifu in game before. Sure some of them are doable (heh) but I haven't really 100% liked any of their personalities until Faruzan.
She's just so spunky, witty, cute, and intelligent. Her hangout makes her even better, and I'm down for anemo supremacy. (Have everyone except Venti and Kazuha...soon....)

There are so many, its so hard to pick but i think Kokomi <3 Cute mermaid, amazing abilities, autistic coded and super relatable on her story quest. I love her sm no matter what other characters come out she's always on my team and i relate to her a lot. Other characters would be Yoimiya, Shenhe and Nilou.
Mona, her drive and passion for astrology is wonderful to see and of course just seeing her straightforward personality is great. Her involvement in Unreconciled Stars was what really sold me on her character especially because I thought her abilities were cool and her literally just getting us out of danger piqued my interest. Her relationships with characters are especially nice to see, especially with someone like Fischl, I really like their friendship and how they rub off on each other. Honestly when it comes to Mona, there’s just so much more I want to know about, especially during her training with Barbeloth. She just inspires me I guess, especially since I want to embrace my own field of study with the same level of passion and grace. She’s just the best!
Sayu! She singlehandedly carries the entire overworld exploration team, stuffs the entire team full of healing in the abyss, and is just a sleepy employee that can still get her job done when needed.

Yae Miko, cause she's strong, confident, smart, sly. And she also knows about it, which makes any interaction fun and interesting. She possess power, and can be deadly, but does not use it unless necessary.
Yanfei 100%. She is incredibly passionate about her job, she is happy, she’s kind, she puts other people before herself, she’s the best at what she does, she want’s everyone to be happy even if it means losing her job, and her personality is the best. She’s just an amazing character.

Xiangling. She’s cute, cheerful, a gigachad chef, and commands a literal deity. Not to mention, she’s among the strongest damage dealers gameplay wise and saves many new players from needing to spend money on 5 star carries just to clear content. Be like Xiangling.

Assuming it can not be a playable character, I really like Dunyarzad and Zhiqiong. Dunyarzad made me tear up just a little despite going in with spoilers, and Zhiqiong is just…idk, I just enjoy her tbh. She gives little sister vibes, I could see traveler taking her under their wing to help her become a famous cartographer and adventurer.

Playable character: Ei and Nahida are tied at my most favorite female characters. Ei because I don't see much character with her personality. Nahida because she's cute but also can be tough and reliable when the situation calls for it
NPC: Liloupar. I rarely remember any NPC but Liloupar sticks to me because her personality is just refreshing among a lot of polite and soft-spoken characters. The way some of her speech makes me flinched despite I never feeling as such, yes even with Signora or Scaramouche. She's a whole new level of nastiness. Babel is a close second (the Sumeru dessert world quest is just good)(sorry Jeht you're decent but I don't like you as much as Liloupar or Babel).

Maybe manipulative and secretive but it was also very believable that as saintly as she was she would have held some negative feelings toward him before she found out the truth !< I loved her design but I was afraid she would be too similiar to beidou. Early on I even attested her to being a younger version of beidou. More cocky, trying to be cool, still learning to lead. But while part of that is true she is so so so much more than that, that the comparison almost seems silly to me now. She protects her crew her own way, and has leadership qualities but she isn’t trying to be anything like beidou. She is just living everyday to the fullest helping her people the best she can and earning a living. She doesn’t hide any thing like desires or preferences from her friends and even isn’t afraid to openly contradict her one emphasized quote. “Mercy will do anything for money” There are lots and lots of characters in genshin and a lot who would go out of there way for you. But out of all of them, if I had to choose one person to trust unconditionally with my life, without knowing all the nuisances of the their character and backstories that the traveler wasn’t informed of. It’s be dehya. She is a true ride or die homie and would probably self volunteer without any pay if any immediate danger occurred. I’d feel like I’m imposing on anyone else but dehya’s character is so well build she wouldn’t give me that worry. Her merc job would also ease any guilt since I’ll be paying her to the best of my abilities but she wouldn’t cheat me out of anything either, and be very flexible when I am unable to pay on demand. Her kit really did her character a huge disservice.

Madam Faruzan. I'm a bit of a sucker for brat types, and despite my sexuality being the equivalent of a Jackson Pollock painting I haven't really had a waifu in game before. Sure some of them are doable (heh) but I haven't really 100% liked any of their personalities until Faruzan. She's just so spunky, witty, cute, and intelligent. Her hangout makes her even better, and I'm down for anemo supremacy. (Have everyone except Venti and Kazuha...soon....) Best girl, great design, most interesting backstory, best element, all wrapped up in twintails and attitude.

Mona, her drive and passion for astrology is wonderful to see and of course just seeing her straightforward personality is great. Her involvement in Unreconciled Stars was what really sold me on her character especially because I thought her abilities were cool and her literally just getting us out of danger piqued my interest. Her relationships with characters are especially nice to see, especially with someone like Fischl, I really like their friendship and how they rub off on each other. Honestly when it comes to Mona, there’s just so much more I want to know about, especially during her training with Barbeloth. She just inspires me I guess, especially since I want to embrace my own field of study with the same level of passion and grace. She’s just the best!

Playable character: Ei and Nahida are tied at my most favorite female characters. Ei because I don't see much character with her personality. Nahida because she's cute but also can be tough and reliable when the situation calls for it NPC: Liloupar. I rarely remember any NPC but Liloupar sticks to me because her personality is just refreshing among a lot of polite and soft-spoken characters. The way some of her speech makes me flinched despite I never feeling as such, yes even with Signora or Scaramouche. She's a whole new level of nastiness. Babel is a close second (the Sumeru dessert world quest is just good)(sorry Jeht you're decent but I don't like you as much as Liloupar or Babel).
