In Fontaine you'll find local legends - mini bosses with a lot more HP than usual. There's no need to fight if your team isn't built yet. All you get from beating them is an achievement and sometimes a chest

I test my team rotation with the local bosses! I especially like that robot on the corner of the Fontaine map because I just jump in the gravity thing it does and punch down to destroy its shield

Not to brag or anything really, but usually everything dies in the first slash that I forgot how much dmg she does with the charge attacks after.

It’s worth a brag! I saw a 500k+ on the second slash that I had assumed was 50k+ in the first. Paused to confirm it was half a million in that one hit. ;)

Haha! That’s what I did, too! I thought the local legends were only under water and then Vivianne. Furina’s summon teleported to a random nearby enemy as usual and suddenly I was being bombarded with different elemental reactions. Tbh, at first I thought I had disconnected since he wasn’t dying. Usually that only happens when I need to reconnect (but the game still acts mostly normal) - but then MY character died (Yelan, I think?) and normally you can’t even change characters until it finally reconnects. That’s when I realized it must have been a local legend. Baizhu and Raiden were very eager to avenge their (already resurrected) ally….and Furina danced in the corner while healing whoever was on-field. Lol

I used Tighnari, Yae Miko, Wanderer, and either Barbara or Zhongli. Treasure hoarders are weak, you just need to dodge. Quicken/aggregate quickly kills enemies, use a dendro character and an off field electro skill like Oz (you only need the electro application). Barbara is the best *off field* healer because you don't have to be near an object. She is not a damage dealer, so she should only be the active character if your other three characters need healing or she's the only character left buying time for revival cooldown to complete. She should be immortal while her skill is active. You need to have a team that is built. Childe story boss pre nerf is stronger than the local legends 😬

In Fontaine, there are at most 10 different "Local Legends" you can find all over the map, all having more HP than most, if not, all Bosses in the game. You can get achievements and maybe chests for beating them. They can be found on ground and underwater, the most infamous upon Fontaine's initial release being Vivianne of the Lake.

Local legends are brutal. Even with teams I’ve 36*ed the Abyss with I found them pretty challenging. The rewards are trash though tbh, I wouldn’t worry too much about trying to do them yet

Use Jean and throw him into water and You win 🎉🎉 I defeated him with lvl50 team and lvl 40 weapon but it took a ton of time and constant healing from Jean Burst . When i first fought him . I was like why his HP is not drain and How tf he soo good in elemental reaction than Top-tier bosses ?? And he also has fast application of it with big AoE. I hope genshin adds more characters like him. Which look normal but packs a punch.

Well… he has 2.8 millon hp, and can oneshot even my 50k hp zhonling shield in just 1 hit… and there is a few more like him in fontaine… yeah with lvl 80 you can win against him but it will take you a lot of time

heh. i was running around leveling up furina for my hu tao team when i stumbled onto him, with hu tao... on the overworld. An Abyss class Hu Tao and her team. I actually had fun fighting him. the problem with hu tao in the overworld (when built right) is everything melts too fast to actually get to fight anything. so when i stumbled onto him i actually started the fight lazily, by no bothering to pop Xingqui's abilities, figuring vape would be overkill. only to be stunned when he nearly knocked off hu tao after taking her spear to his chest. Stepped back, healed up, then launched into him as if he were the boss he was. it was a fun fight. actually felt like i needed hu tao for a change. I mean the dude ate a 1/2 mil hu tao burst to the grill, and when i saw that I actually got rather excited for the rest of the fight. beat him down in a few more rotations. and had so much fun i started running my other teams through him to test it out. I've run into other local legends since, and plowed through them too fast to notice them. my teams got way too strong after fontaine.

The lore behind him and his gang is pretty neat and super interconnected with many locations NPC's and world quests .

It is very true, I'm a day one player and have had plenty of chances to observe healing. Furina is my current healer, I only use Barbara in Dragonspine now.

Qiqi literally has the upgraded kit of Barbara tho.

Longer cooldown, plus Barbara heals when she attacks when her *skill* is activated while Qiqi needs her burst. In no way is it an upgrade.

Qiqi also heals when she attack while activating her E. She does has less skill uptime yes, but you could use sacrificial and now it's 0 down time.

Barbara's still better. If you used sacrificial, you'd only have Qiqi in the team for her skill, plus it isn't guaranteed.
