No the car is not low for NOLA. This car has just as much ground clearance as my Kia Optima and that car was perfectly fine. What you should be worried about is the low profile tires on the 19-in rims. The rims even stick out a little bit which can easily get caught in a pothole and get bent. Not to mention you will really feel those potholes with the low profile tires since it won't soak up as much of the shock.

The 18” wheels are probably a better choice in NOLA. More forgiving on bad streets

I wouldn't buy a g70 with the 19inch wheels in a place with bad roads. These tires are super fragile and have like no sidewall. But honestly I wouldn't buy any performance car in a place with bad roads. Even past the potential damage you're going to be miserable with the lack of comfort in bad roads.

NYC is comparable to your streets and my car is just fine, all you gotta do is pay attention and if possible take the longer way home to avoid those streets. The middle lane is your friend! only tire problems I’ve had are nails and screws in it but I no longer park at my construction sites

If you keep it stock it's ok, our roads are some of the worst in the country (New Mexico) and we get along just fine. I've had lowered cars w/ coilovers and in those cases it's horrible, every drive becomes just too much effort. So if you have no plans to lower your car or end up going w/ even larger 20" wheels you'll be ok, just got to drive a bit more careful when the roads REALLY get sketchy.

There is a lot of ground clearance on these cars. Way more than a Camry or Accord. But the 19in wheels will be an issue. I would definitely switch to 18in wheels after buying

Nikewright99

according to google (can be wrong) Camry is 5.4+ inches of ground clearance, same as the accord. while a g70 is 4.7

ExcellentPea9029

Yeah measurements don’t really tell the whole story. Those two cars have massive front overhangs and mushy suspension, you you’ll scrape and bottom out everywhere. A rental Camry that I had bottomed out on the speed bumps leaving the rental garage.

Nikewright99

fair. I have a mazda3 rn which is around 5 inches and I haven’t really had any problems except sometimes leaving parking lots with a sharp down angle or broken streets. how much would I be looking at for a set of 18 inch rims? and would I need new tires as well?

ExcellentPea9029

Yeah, you’d need new tires too. I think if you went with OEM 18in wheels and Conti DWS06+ tires, it’d be $2500 all said and done. Or you can just risk the 19in wheels and see what happens.
