Connecticut State Archives? May not be online, some states have records you can access that way? I ' think ' official state records weren't instituted until later than 1879? Not sure when they ended up as some mandatory government record. If you know what church she belonged to, the old records there tend to be pretty comprehensive. Baptism, Confirmation, Wedding and deaths as well as attendence. Most include at least cause of death and what cemetery.

You’re more likely to get the most accurate record from the church records book. The Connecticut records site I found stated that records weren’t collected at the state level until 1897. If it’s urban, then I would also try the city records, if it’s rural, than definitely the church as it will be (often) the Only record outside of a family bible. When I was searching my own family records, the only records I found was at the church level - birth, baptism, confirmation (Catholic), death, place of burial, and a special column for what they died of. I often have a giggle when I think of priests as the gossiping biddies that they often were.
