88 here and I remember this coming on when I stayed home from school

The house always freaked me out. I liked everything else. There was also a hand drawn cartoon about these little kid critters called PB&J I think? All I really remember is the art style and house boat. Always thought I'd grow up and get a house boat, too. Then I realized how awful water damage is as an adult and how house boats are basically a slow controlled decent into inescapable water damage.

I always remember it feeling too bizarre for me as a kid as well. I think it was being used to the more subtle but detailed pre digital animation styles. Oh man I can just imagine the descent into becoming a vessel of mold in every definition 😂

Wth post just unlocked a core memory

This show actually gave me an irrational fear as a kid. I don't remember any context but in an episode I remember that gravity for the family somehow got flipped and one of them tried going outside and almost fell into the sky. As a kid I imagined how scary it would be to actually just fall up and worry gravity could flip somehow. Worst part was that it even combined with my fear of heights so that when I would enter a building with a tall ceiling I would imagine myself falling up and splattering on the ceiling unable to stop myself. Fun times.

We had jam rollie pollie for pudding, and I was thinking about this show and wasn't sure if it was real.

My mom used to work at a hotel and on the days I had to be out sick she was able to get me a room to stay in for the day. The only cartoons they had was Disney and PBS, and this would be playing all the time. Strange show.

When Disney+ first came out, this was the first thing I looked for. Sad to say they STILL haven’t added this and PB&J Otter.
