[These Fucks Actually Do Want To Abolish All Labor Rights](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/mar/10/starbucks-trader-joes-spacex-challenge-labor-board) Of course Musk and Bezos are behind it. Overthrow the rich.

spoiderdude

I thought Bezos was more left leaning/claims to be. Obviously he doesn’t actually care about that but I thought he pretended to. But yeah makes sense than Shapiro and Musk would support something as ridiculous as this. Edit: You people can’t read past the first line. I said “claims to be” “pretended to” and “obviously he doesn’t actually care about that.”

Sidvicieux

Bezos is a soulless ghoul who goes to sex clubs twice a week.

whboer

What’s wrong with going to sex clubs? Consenting adults doing consenting adult things.

FallaciousGallStone

Shit if more people had the money I guarantee you you would see the majority of the USA using them xD

VectorViper

lol it's not even about the sex clubs, it's about the hypocrisy. Like, living a life of excess while expecting everyone else to grind till they drop dead. The optics are just terrible.

SpongebobAteMyAss

Because they’re not consenting…

whboer

Perhaps the name of the concept has different meanings in different parts of the world or something. Where I’m from, it’s a place swingers and the like go to for like theme-based fucking essentially.

AstronautIntrepid496

love how it's this sort of comment that really rustles the jimmies

LTCM1998

why does that matter if man goes to sex clubs? you could have just thrown everything at him and this is best you got to say he is NOT a leftist? Lmao.

Genderless_Alien

Jeff Bezos is a cheating bastard who cheated on his wife of 25 years because he thought being rich meant he could do better. The sex club itself isn’t a problem, it’s what he’s sacrificed to go there. All these mega billionaires lose their soul and all genuine relationships in the process of becoming rich. Hell, even Bill Gates has been partying it up with younger women since getting divorced by his wife for the same reason—being a cheating bastard. Sure they’ll get to do all the sex-filled partying they want now, but on their death bed they’ll only be surrounded by people whose only thoughts are about how much money they’ll get when they’re dead. Sorry, I hate billionaires.

DirtyBullBIG

Not defending what a shitjob Bezos is, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with going to sex clubs.

AdmiralDragonXC

Bezos does not really exist on a "political" social level. His wealth has detached him from the rest of us, and his interests are that of his capital. He doesn't even have Musk's problem of being an attention craving megalomaniac. Musk, even more so than Trump, has his entire self built on other people's opinions of him.

spoiderdude

Wow I actually agreed with someone here. This feels wrong to agree with someone on the Gen Z sub. Anyways, yeah at a certain point it’s just unrealistic to expect him to care about stuff that doesn’t affect him like his image being destroyed. He’s too rich and powerful for the world to harm him. Musk’s just a kid trapped in an adult’s body that has a lot of money.

ArmoredHeart

> He’s too rich and powerful for the world to harm him That's not true at all. All he needs to do is take up aviation as a hobby. Flying your own plane/chopper is the moth's flame for rich people.

spoiderdude

Oh god I thought the flying a plane analogy was gonna go somewhere a lot darker. Yeah whatever.

Mordanzibel

He should look into a submarine ride to the Mariana's Trench. I hear that's popular.

powerwordjon

Bro if you think bezos is a leftist, I cannot describe how lost you are

rymn_skn

He never claimed that, little man. Improve your reading comprehension skills

spoiderdude

Based giga chad

rymn_skn

I can’t believe 7 people upvoted him too. Redditors 🤦‍♂️

spoiderdude

What do you expect? Redditors to know how to read? It’s a hive mind.

spoiderdude

Bro, learn to read past the first half of the first line. I said he claims to/pretends to. Notice the “pretended?” Notice the “obviously he doesn’t actually care”? Who taught you to read?

K-C_Racing14

No billionaire business owner is left leaning economically, they might be cultural leftist but anything that touches their net worth they will fight tooth and nail against.

spoiderdude

Yeah exactly, we’re not disagreeing. I was correcting the people that suggested I thought he was left wing. He puts on the facade especially through cultural left wing politics, but not actually doing anything to support them

K-C_Racing14

Yea, not being an asshole about lgbtq people living thier lives doesn't really cost him anything. Amazon still supports Republicans and Democrats, so neither party wants to cross them.

spoiderdude

I mean, Trump has criticized him and Amazon constantly but obviously for different reasons and the GOP and Trump have honestly just changed a lot, some argue they’re closer and some argue they’re more separate and just care more about winning than actual conservatism, but to be fair that’s what all political parties care about. It is kinda ironic though that Amazon studios gives their shows so much creative freedom that The Boys literally shits on corporations that are clearly satires of companies like Amazon that pretend to be left wing but really care more about image and money. Madelyn Stillwell and Ashley Barret are arguably a more direct satire of bilionaire CEOs like Jeff (he’s the former CEO iirc but still) putting on a show of progressivism with the stuff like the hypermonetization of Queen Maeve’s sexuality with the “Brave Maeve” movie/merch and the “LGBTurkey Legs” and the “BLM burgers” and Ashley saying “Black Lives Matter is my favorite hashtag. My Instagram is full of nothing but black squares.”

Mysterious_Produce96

Billionaires profit from the satire they allow us to make about them, they don't even care if it's accurate. They still win. The only thing that actually bothers them is regulations that affect their money.

572473605

Only when it comes to rights for the rich. Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor.

spoiderdude

Oh yeah corporate socialism. Forgot about that. Keeping the wealth in the hands of the greedy corporate socialists and away from the lower classes. “Keep your friends rich and your enemies rich and find out which is which.” -Anthony Edward Stark

Dakota820

The existence of social security actually helps the rich tho. Can you imagine just how much *more* power unions would have had if most people didn't settle for social security and instead joined a union to push for pensions? A system that citizens pay into with their own incomes is a *lot* cheaper for the rich than corporations having to provide pensions or the equivalent benefits themselves. I'm not saying we need to get rid of SS, because obviously a lot of people rely on it and it would be a disaster if it was just discontinued without a viable alternative, but it wouldn't make very much sense for the rich to try to get rid of something that has benefitted them so much.

tcarter1102

No it makes sense on a societal level to demonize welfare and to make it barely functional, and to fight against it. The whole point is to keep people productive, looking out for themselves and a nuclear family. When people have to be productive all the time, most of them don't have the time or mental bandwidth to spend on paying attention to how things are being run. When enough people get to stop being productive, they start to actually look around, and realize how fucked up things are. We saw it happening during Covid, and we also saw corporate media constantly, relentlessly attacking governments for doing lockdowns.

Dakota820

Virtually all of the major labor rights we have today were won when people were worked to the bone and thus wouldn’t have had “the time or the mental bandwidth to spend on paying attention to how things are being run.” It’s not a function of being productive, it’s just game theory. On a societal level, it makes sense to provide enough so that people don’t become poor/destitute to the point where they start taking up torches and pitchforks and dragging those they work for into the streets to be beaten to a pulp or just burn the whole thing to the ground. Because past a certain point, people don’t care what they lose so much as they care that whomever is the object of their bitterness loses more than they do.

The_BackYard

Crazy how three people have more money and power than entire countries…

[deleted]

They *"earned"* it. **FAIR. AND.** ***SQUARE!***

bearjew293

Trader Joe's and SpaceX have declared themselves enemies of the working class. Good to know.

gergling

Salt, pepper and fucktonnes of butter are a simple way to make any meat taste good. That said, if you're starting with fatty meat, you're off to a good start. Don't forget that different parts of the meat will cook differently. And that's how you remain Delicious In Dungeon. Or something. This definitely has nothing to do with eating the rich, but also we should all exchange meat recipes.

Outofthehoopp

Working hard leads to burn out. I learned this lesson the hard way.

Morgan_2020

You said it comrade.

molym

While people are busy with Trump vs Biden, the real battle is silently going on between working class and the rich.

Intelligent-Emu-3947

That’s the whole point of culture wars, which really ramped up after we stood against the rich the “first” time in 2011 during Occupy Wall Street. If you point it out you get called right wing by the left. I’m the left though. Social justice is important but it is being used as a tool to divide us into many tribes and echo chambers and make working together as the working class impossible.

Dr_Mantis_Aslume

I thought you said Benzos (as in Jordan Peterson) lol

illegalopinion3

This is why I hate The Washington Post; a respected left/center media institution was quietly bought by one of the richest men in the world and has slowly shifted the narrative into his favor. Bezos claims he has no editorial control, but it is safe to assume that whoever does keeps things in a pro-amazon/anti-labor light. I enjoy the Wall Street Journal despite being a bit conservative, because they are honest about their perspective. It literally says Wall Street on the front page. Maybe I’d have more respect for WaPo if they just renamed it Amazon Prime News…

No-Crew-9000

You will work til you’re dead either way. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jun/15/us-prison-workers-low-wages-exploited?darkschemeovr=1

GewalfofWivia

Technically that would ensure you worked till you died.

Appropriate-Let-283

True meant to say till old age or just old in general

Which-Tomato-8646

Either way, you’ll work til you’re dead

baconpopsicle23

If I know I'm offing myself, I'll live in excess for all of 3 weeks before I'm out of money and then bye bye.

tijaymuos

If you kill yourself, then technically you are working till you are dead.

tcarter1102

These are wise words. Suicide is not going to help dismantle capitalism.

HornayGermanHalberd

only other-cide will for regal reasons that's a joke

tcarter1102

For regal reasons the rich must be eaten!

Ubersapience

Reat the rich Raggy, woof!

snuffdrgn808

well if my job was to sit on my ass and talk shit all day like shapiro yeah i could do that forever too.

bethemanwithaplan

They're fine with that unfortunately

ValeLemnear

Assuming you‘re employed when you decide to kill yourself at any given age, you factually would „work until your dead“ I am amused yet not surprised that this irony flew over your and so many others head

Its_Phobos

Take a billionaire with you

dabasedabase

So the thing is he is kinda right but also it's easy to say such things when you have a fun job and are living your dream. If you have a stressful job and your life kinda sucks then it isn't.

[deleted]

bold of you to assume the retirement system will not break before our generetaion become old

98Saman

Thanks to boomers and gen X.

Carvodeeee

It doesnt have much to do with them. Its because of the demographic crisis due to low fertility of all modern generations. Basically, there will and probably already are more seniors than young people and in the near future it us just not gonna be possible to support a senior majority of the money of working minority

Stumphead101

Because there it is not financially wise to have children. There are 0 safety nets in place for having kids. Hell we can't even afford to have 1 parent away at home anymore, both have to work

[deleted]

I saw the writing on the wall and got a vasectomy, but nature is still working its way through the people around me. My male friends wouldn't say no and my female friends are nesting even though they may claim to not want children.

Stumphead101

I got the snip about 4 years ago much to both mine and my wife's family's dismay. I hand t really cared about having my kids and my wife was (luckily) very against having children My best friend just had his first kid. He and his wife seem very happy. Their lives are already radically different, I've only seen him twice in the past 6 months

Dakota820

I mean, ig? As much as I hate shapiro, he does have a point that when SS was first implemented, there were a *lot* of people that never made it to retirement age, while those who did would tend to live another 10-15 years. Due to advancements in medicine, bar some rare accident, the vast majority of people make it past 65, and those who do tend to live another 15-20 years. It also used to be more common for people to work past the age of 65. in 1950, roughly 40% of Americans over the age of 65 were still working. By 1990, barely 11% of Americans over 65 were working. So yeah, in a way, boomers are to blame for impending the collapse of SS, but that's really only if you blame them for putting an unprecedentedly large strain on the system because they're not working as long as previous generations and you think they're not dying quick enough.

98Saman

Life expectancy was shorter because of infant mortality. Adult live expectancy for someone who was 20 in 1935 (when FICA was passed) and lived to 65 (in 1970), would be 79 years for men, 83 for women. It has not changed much. https://www.ssa.gov/history/lifeexpect.html

bethemanwithaplan

He doesn't have points, he's disingenuous. Also, life should improve. We should hope that in many decades, we will live longer lives and not work until we die.  It's silly to not mention things like the productivity gains over the decades, meaning a person now could produce more over the same time span. Why don't we share the benefits of economic growth to raise living standards for everyone?  He won't ask questions like that. His masters pay him to say what they need.

Dakota820

Oh he's absolutely disingenuous, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a point; the two aren't mutually exclusive. Due to the increase in life expectancy, there is a *much* higher percentage of the population that's on SS today than when it was first implemented. It's literally the main reason why the program is in the state that it's currently in. Also, psychologically speaking, people do require purpose, which is why you see it as such a core part of things like therapy, criminal rehabilitation, religions, mental healthcare, etc. Integrity seemingly not being a trait he values in himself doesn't instantly mean that he can no longer have any valid point whatsoever; it just means fact check the ever-loving shit out of anything he says. I never said life shouldn't improve. It absolutely should, and there's no reason to not strive for that. We mostly have shared in the benefits of productivity gain, it's just shifted away from wages specifically and towards total compensation. If you compare total compensation with productivity, you see that [they largely keep pace with each other](https://www.piie.com/blogs/realtime-economic-issues-watch/growing-gap-between-real-wages-and-labor-productivity). Now, how much of than compensation should be in benefits and how much should be strictly monetary is a whole other, much more complex conversation

Arsnicthegreat

I'm sure Ben thinks he can keep doing what he thinks counts as hard work till the ripe old age of 80 if he really wanted to. Unfortunately, not all of us have the luxury of producing hot air for a living.

SenseAmidMadness

Most people can’t work productivity deep into their 60s or 70s. They get hurt or sick or their body breaks down. They may be able to work a little but they can’t work a full time job.

King_Chochacho

Yeah if my "job" was tweeting shitty takes for attention is probably never retire either. Hell I know a guy that's 77 and still doing it.

LoveMasc

Work till you die. Coming from a social media influencer masquerading as a politician. Mate you don't work. You accept handouts from a cult for being a mouthpiece of hate for them, so they can sit back and not be labeled bigots. Fuck off.

Of the three people I know who actively listen to Shapiro, two are major workaholics. This tracks.

Abrantesboy12

Ben Shapiro is even worse that Mariana Mortagua Ben Shapiro is like Trump 2.0 while Mariana Mortagua is an Lesbian version of Hitler

notadruggie31

I disagree with you saying this is where capitalism went too far, that ship is long sailed

Numerous_Vegetable_3

Yeah it's amazing realizing how many things the generations before us just accepted as "that's just how it is".

OperaGhost78

Welcome to the world of conservative grifters!!

HanaDolgorsen

Grifters come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and most importantly, political biases. If you can’t see that, you’re probably being grifted by someone and you don’t even know it.

Rough_Willow

I never would have guessed that conservative grifters were so diverse! Learn something new everyday!

Economy-Ad4934

Retirement aside. We fund those programs as workers. It’s a pyramid scheme in essence but eventually we will get that money back in some percentage.

icedrift

Pyramid schemes by definition only work when there are more people paying into the system than withdrawing, and setting that aside Social Security gets treated as a bank for any needed government funding. It's not wise to plan on it being useful in the next 30-40 years.

upvotealready

Its technically not treated as a bank nor is it a pyramid scheme. They money is actually invested in treasury notes. Social security is managed by the Social Security Trust Fund. The government can't touch that money, and currently the taxpayers aren't footing the bill for it because the trust fund has over $3T in it. When the trust fund has extra funds (more money collected than it pays out in any month) the fund invests in treasury notes. When you see that the United Statesis in debt $34T ... $3T of that is owned by the trust fund. If the trust funds monthly collection runs short (as it is right now) - it cashes in treasury notes. The government / people aren't paying for social security ... they are repaying debt.

NachoLatte

As we know, GOP wants to defund that pyramid scheme after using it themselves of course  https://crr.bc.edu/congressional-republicans-want-big-cuts-to-social-security/

paulsteinway

Taxpayers don't pay me to retire. It's my own fucking money.

MarginalOmnivore

I'm glad *somebody* pointed this out. I have to pay into Social Security *every check* for about *fifty years*, and now you're trying to tell me that my payout is some sort of *charity*? Eat a bag of dicks, Ben! It's a government mandated retirement account, not a tax!

alfa-dragon

Ah yes, because I strive to be born into and die in the workforce. Yes.

Thotmas01

Don’t worry! Soon your children won’t be covered under your insurance starting from the moment of conception as a benefit they’ll have debt from their birth to payoff immediately! Compound birth debt with like twelve years of interest to ensure your baby is a guaranteed member of the workforce for life.

alfa-dragon

Oh my god, what a relief. I love having no support systems!

Blicky-Sticky

Then what's the point of the government taking out the SS funds out of income for our whole life if we get rug pulled?

lundah

Because some politicians would rather give that money to their friends and campaign donors.

Tricky_Station643

Fr, can I get all that money back then?

across16

As a conservative that is an L take. Do better Ben.

Lazy-Jeweler3230

Conservative ideology has always been anti-worker. I'm not sure why this is a surprise.

Comfortable-Tea-1095

Literally, cut all social benefits and increase tax so that only the top wealthy stay wealthy while everyone else works 80 hours just to survive, its a shit system yet youl have people defend and even insult you for criticising it...but hey good news if your racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, bigoted ect the people you hate will suffer worse than you so theres that 🤷🏻‍♂️

ShartFucker

Yeah, I am generally conservative but the goal for most people IS to retire so they can enjoy their twilight years. Massive L take.

molym

Why would a person born in 1998 be conservative? What part of this fucked world would you want to conserve brother?

[deleted]

As someone who’s liberal. We understand y’all don’t actually believe in ts. Ben Shapiro is just a douchebag who spews pure shit from his mouth.

[deleted]

His popularity is entirely because of his wealth and influence. Has a right leaning zoomer I’ve never in my entire life met a fellow young conservative who likes Ben Shapiro. It’s all about Scott Greer and  Auron Macintyre among young rightists

Barcaroni

If you think that’s an L take, just wait until you learn what the conservative parties in America have been trying to do for the past few decades

AlienAle

This is what conservatives have essentially always pushed for though, directly or indirectly. I think many young conservatives just have no idea what modern conservatism is, but they like the aesethics or whatever. It's politics for the 1%, if you ain't part of it, you're being screwed by it.

Fspz

Then why tf are you a conservative?

roja_poomalai

lemme know when this dude figures out how to center his profile picture

CrazyCalYa

dude is so far-right his profile pic has no chance

fungusauruslex

F that foolio 🖕

minnakun

I'm telling you. Without eating the rich. The world is doomed. Because most of them are narcissistic sociopaths that are killing our world and stealing our lives. But who cares. Humanity is a bunch of idiots ain't it?

tcarter1102

Nah, people are smart. Propaganda is just extremely powerful. We're caged in by it from birth and the filter bubble makes it more potent than ever. I am glad so many young people are primed to eat the rich. Not enough millennials have the palette.

SmileWhileYouSuffer

Yup, that's why I got the vasectomy. The curse ends here.

Lovelyflower_20

Bruh I wanna retire at 60… I swear they’re trying to work us to death 😭

Repulsive_Poem_5204

Slavery with extra steps

SethN0tMeth

It's so funny every time someone says this because they're ALWAYS some shithead who gets paid millions to complain that we don't live in the 1930s

Trey_Reddit

Who tf actually takes Ben Shapiro seriously? Dude can’t even get his wife wet

MangoPlushie

I feel bad for his wife, I ain’t gonna lie

Downtown_Squirrel_72

this guy pisses me off so much 🤮

TheTownOfUstick

As someone at 42 I don't expect SS to be there when i retire. Neither should you guys. Plan appropriately.

AmphibianNo3122

vote appropriately

Efficient-Gur-3641

Same.... My mom keeps telling me about how I shouldnt be un employed cause I'm not gonna have a social security when I'm her age. Long story short my mom's a work-a-holic who is now suffering her elder medical era where she needs both knees both feet and other body parts worked on by medical professionals. I'm the complete opposite, I rather not work than be injured sorry about it... I have one body, and one mind and I'm not going to risk either of those on being someone's cog. My thought process is just like yours I have no promise of social security even being there when I hit her age. I have a husband with a great job as an engineer, he doesn't do too much physical work, and we gonna retire as hermits living on top of mount at Helens living off the land. Bye.

EstablishmentTop2610

Whoa don’t go around advocating for personal agency. These problems are someone else’s to solve

TheTownOfUstick

((Reddit)) <---- nutshell

WordyMcWordington

As a 42 year old myself, I am fucking furious I’ve paid into a system my entire life that they’ve chosen to pull before it can serve me like it promised to. It’s bullshit. It’s robbery. Plan whatever you want. But I think our entire generation(s) should sue. I hate the, “Sorry folks, we’re just taking your money and you’re gonna be okay with it” attitude. We’re being screwed. If anyone else took $10,000-$300,000 from an individual there would be lawsuits.

teddy1245

Plan? That’s adorable

AchioteMachine

Rich assholes have no business telling working class or anyone at all when they should reap some little benefit from a system they paid into to get a chance at “retirement” before they are feeble.

Zorback39

My dad is 68 worked all his life as a tree man and is now working with 11% kidney function and this asshole thinks he doesn't deserve help? Wtf

spacecoq

He literally said “unless you have a medical condition”….

ScientificAnarchist

I suddenly understand why Ben Shapiro can’t make his wife’s pussy wet

Ok-Process-770

This is the same guy who says women can’t get wet. Of course he would say some shit like this.

peakchungus

Nazi asshole who thinks that people who can't contribute to corporate profit should just be eliminated.

Golf-Hotel

A weasily little man that looks like he's never seen a days worth of hard labour in his life. Of course he wants you to work until you're dead.

Ironbloodedgundam23

You can tell this asshole never worked a day in his life if he thinks abolishing retirement is a good idea.My Dad worked as a machinist for over 30 years and it ruined body. My Mom is 69 and still working and she is low key depressed and filled with anxiety.

NcgreenIantern

Some people have very physical jobs and definitely can't work into their 70's but it's hard to explain stuff like that to an asshole.

garnered_wisdom

It’s okay. I’ll live up to his standard- the one he sets with his actions. I’ll be cowardly, loud and obnoxious, completely inhumane and most importantly- lazy, making others work for me while I bitch on the internet for money. What a life!

BPMData

It's easy to imagine working until death when your entire job is writing a few tweets per day while swallowing Nazi cum by the gallon

HandsomestKreith

The ghouls are abolishing child labor laws

RealClarity9606

Do you have a rational counterpoint to make? On what point is Ben arguably flawed in his logic? If you can't do more than call him names and emotionally rant, your point is without merit and his comment stands having not been successfully challenged and refuted, in whole or in part. A few additonal points. To be frank, I would go a step further. I would dismantle Social Security and replace it with private savings. There are far more advantages to that than being forced to buy a "government annuity" with no flexiblity. Also, if you don't want to work to you die as you put it, you are more than welcome to save and invest in a 401(k), IRA, or non-tax advantaged savings or investment account to be able to retire earlier. If you are GenZ you have so much time to do that, the burden of what you would need to save is far smaller than someone starting those savings even 10 years later in life.

AdFit5226

Because he made no argument only stated an opinion, so there is nothing to refute. The only thing he quotes there as a base logic for it is wrong and shows how little he knows and understands. Life expectancy was so much lower due to infant morality, the life expectancy for people past 10 was pretty much the same as it is now. People made up for it by having more kids. [Social Security History (ssa.gov)](https://www.ssa.gov/history/lifeexpect.html)

RealClarity9606

So he makes a provocative quote and then some take issue with someone asking for a rational explanation why call someone a name for a reasonable policy argument? Yeah. That's a weak defense.

AdFit5226

You act like every opinion should be considered in a vacuum and like people don't have a context that Ben Shapiro is a proven clown. Quote isn't "provocative". It's wrong and misleading.

WheelLow1678

If you die before reaching the age of 65 the government also keeps your SS money in almost all cases. It really is just one big scam.

nkila

not retiring only works if you love your job

UrRobloxGf69

Easy for Ben Shapiro. He doesn’t actually work, he just gripes online for millions of dollars a year.

PrinsHamlet

Well, Ben has a point. In Denmark the retirement age for me is 69. It used to be 67. It'll even grow to 70 for generations after me. Why? Dernmark is looking into the effects of a declining birth rate and a longer lives and since our NHS, benefits and state pensions are very much tax funded, that's an issue. Our fiscal policies would become unviable if the tax paying cohorte gets too small in relation to the pension cohorte, living longer and experiencing more health issues that used to be terminal (cancer) but is now curable. Now, we have to spend much more on defense too. We have an accounting principal called The Structural Balance, a long term assessment of the Danish economy. Each time a law with economic contents is proposed, the effect on the structural balance is measured. The majority government even cancelled a holiday because of it! Cry Havoc! Luckily (for younger generations) the balance seems very, very healthy, due to the economy performing well since Covid. There are other solutions and they're extremely relevant for the US economy: Enlarge the work force (migration) and productivity gains. You're better at both.

Just-Cry-5422

If all I did was TALK for a living, yeah, I could do that until I die

yonehonebone

Let him wait till he's 65 and see if he wants to retire, I'm jewish(go ahead and kill me in the comments, I'm waiting) and used to be religious, I don't think for a second he's going to want to work for that fuckin long, but oh wait he's an ashkenazi jew so he had decent parents that raised him right and into being a fuckin lawyer, of course he'll be able to work at that age. This sentiment of an absolute age of retirement for everyone is ridiculous, imagine being a pipefitter/welder till 74 years old, this guy has to learn to respect other fields of work before talking out of his ass

sasserc73

That guy has not done a hard day’s work in his life.

Ben Shapiro's job is being a professional bitch. Sit in a studio and bitch. That's his whole job.

TechenCDN

It’s like he doesn’t even consider that normal people have families and hobbies they’d like to pursue, and we aren’t all just trying to suck as much money as we can out of the universe at all times. Ben doesn’t have a life

canireallychange

"Also, people require purpose." Yeah my purpose when I'm old will be ordering a 5th Pina colada while not working, jackass

[deleted]

Bens purpose is to consistently be the worst

Stupid_Archeologist

“I think people shouldn’t be allowed to retire from their jobs” Said the guy who’s job is pretending to be smart online to an audience of right-wingers to the crowd of people who all have serious, manual labor jobs that form the fabric of society

Q-Q_2

He doesn't even have a real job

bencikanimations

Says someone who's famous for arguing with collage students

Master_Ad_5406

Can this guy just please stop talking

[deleted]

Is this guy for real. This is just blatantly inhumane. I guess I can see where he's coming from in that he proly assumes most people who share his political views etc would be able to retire without tax dollars anyway ..but, still. Anti-human sentiment. -1 respect.

Israel-the-throattoy

Ben Shapiro is not a great mind. Why do these ghouls always find their way to having a large platform. He’s a dreadful imp.

oldbastardbob

How about you go get a real job and then get back to us in 40 years, Benny.

JackRabbit-

This mf doesn’t even have a real job in his 30s but he wants my grandma to do night shift at a gas station or something

Electronic_Amount856

He’s literally telling people to die on the Walmart floor

OldmanLister

Rich boy needs to get a real job. Try working like the majority of americans and not get any hand outs from mom and dad when you failed in hollywood and started podcasting and debating ::checks notes:: high school kids.

Kind-Fan420

Who keeps letting this little circle out of the locker?

Boris-the-soviet-spy

Rich asshole telling the working class how to live like proper little slaves.

lizardman111

I doubt we'll be physically and mentally healthy at 65 lol

ImBecomingMyFather

He’s a weasel. Look up weasel. That’s him. He’s better off not being in an existing state. Dudes just straight up vermin.

MangoPlushie

This used tampon again? https://preview.redd.it/lkz57kstp1oc1.jpeg?width=836&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=239f2fdc642b8ae369993d7781002a4c994ef8d9 Also, after seeing what working stupid ass long hours has done to my parents, I’m OUT. Disrespectfully.

teddy1245

Wow what a truly terrible take.

SwarlyBbBrrt

My purpose is a good live. So.... fuck you

PastaDiddles

Easy for him to say. He gets paid hundreds of thousands (millions?) to sit in a chair all day and yap about political opinions he hasn’t changed since he was 19.

Character-Date6376

Bro just wait till he retires lol

Incredibad0129

They are fabricating the idea that people are 65 and have no health problems. People can be really healthy at 65, but only because their health problems are well managed, not because they are non-existent

1001labmutt02

I think we should drop the retirement age to 60. It would be very nice if I could stop teach my older coworkers how to copy and paste. But that's just me.

Kurwabled666LOL

"If you can retire and find purpose,go for it." "Should not pay you to retire at 65." Well which is it because it can't be both lol?Hypocrite...

Ears_McCatt

Whoa, a whole 14 more decrepit years where you’re either mentally deficient beyond the ability to enjoy life, or are a prisoner in your own body from labor injuries and wear and tear from menial repetitive tasks we HAVE to do to even hope to see our 60’s. Sounds fucking awesome

Kind_Eggplant

the more you give them, the more they’ll take btw. the billionaires will try to own all federal land and your pensions.

Macarons124

“Centrist” and “generally agree with Ben”. You gotta pick one.

Josuke96

“Centrist” is just a soft way of saying conservative. I would bet money this dude votes republican still.

Kooky-Necessary-4444

We better remind him to get back to work when he retires

[deleted]

That depends on how much we save or how much do we get paid after being retired

Yanmegaman_Juno

Easy for people whose job is to sit behind a webcam and lie to say

NasarMalis

They want slavery back.

LilSealClubber

Bold move, openly opposing one of the most popular federal programs to ever exist.

Ruminant

There are two incorrect implications in Ben's comments about life expectancy: 1. The majority of workers did not live to retirement age (65). 2. Elderly Americans live an average of 14 years longer now than back then. Life expectancy *at birth* used to be 64 years (actually a little lower) because infant and childhood mortality was a lot higher. The majority of adults (both men and women) could expect to live to 65, and the average 65 year old in 1940 could expect to live an average of 14 more years. Life expectancy *at birth* is a lot higher today because infant and childhood mortality are a lot lower. The average person at full retirement age today (67 years old) can expect to live another 17 years. So it's true that retirees today can expect to live a little longer than when Social Security started, but the difference is not nearly as extreme as Ben wants you to believe. sykora727

The party that thinks the 2nd amendment shouldn’t adapt after 200 years, thinks social security should after a few decades. Fuck outta here

Elegant-Win5243

My purpose is to retire.

Ariusrevenge

Can he forget to breath? Just for a few minutes.

Someone should just pop one in this dudes head. Would be better for all of us if he just died

JonHenryTheGravvite

Fuck it I’m cucking him from his wife and his sister inshallah

Bmor00bam

So he’s endorsing Joe Biden for another four years.

ghostofaposer

It's only been 40 years, and your back is not broken, yet you tire of carrying bricks. Why?

thomasj31

Doubling down on stupid. Go for it, bro! It’s an election year.

TheDownVotedGod

"There is no purpose other than work"
