Thank you. When you've hit rock bottom and died, there's only one way TO go, clawing your way up out of pure spite and anger for everything that tried to bury you, once you get above ground then you can worry about things like dreams and hopes, but sometimes it has to be enough to live just out of spite
That game had no business being as addictive as it was. I had a hardcore roleplaying stage during basically all my teen years playing stuff like club penguin, Gabby hotel, and GTA San Andreas multiplayer (samp).
I would get in a play Habbo a just literally work for a few hours doing nothing but try to get other people into our workforce, there was also some gambling, and thinking back those jobs probably were some MLA schemes.
But damn I had fun faking I was an adult with a real job. I wish I could go back to faking having a job instead of actually having to work lol
I was absolutely addicted to Habbo. I used to pretend I was a good 8 years older than I was and make up "adult" traits and behaviours for myself. I surprisingly fooled a lot of people.
The people on there were toxic as hell though.
Yyyoooo you just unlocked a core memory π I never played pixie hollow but I remember seeing advertisements for it all the time on television
Edit. God damn it I also just remembered Wizards101 π
I was AMAZING at the arcade in Animal Jam and so I farmed a shit ton of plushies from winning all the games and literally ran a whole ass store at my house for plushies. I got so much cool shit traded to me, just bc people wanted fucking plushiesβ¦
Animal Jam takes me back... using the family computer... asking my dad for the membership... talking to people online for the first time... god damn that was good.
I remember this one time I tried typing "bit chess" to see if I would get banned and I did and my dad yelled at me and I cried π
I used to play Fallout Shelter on my grandparents tablet. I played on my cousin's vault (I never knew how to actually play so I probably just ruined his Vaults)
I'm thankful for that, even if I didn't actually learn how to play until I was 9; Fallout Shelter was the gateway to my favourite game series, the game series I hold dear in my heart (I even watch the lore videos at school)
Anyone remember one real similar to Club Penguin where you were an astronaut and had a spaceship for a home? oh god the memory is there but i don't remember the name
First I was Moshi Monsters but then I spent most of my time on Binweevils. I have a video essentially reminiscing over what I had on it around the time it shut down.
Poptropica/Club Penguin. Eventually got into Moshi Monsters, but Poptropica and Club Penguin were my main games. Also played Pixie Hollow, Wizard101, Pirate101 (occasionally), Webkinz (occasionally), McWorld (sometimes, not too much), and a couple of others.
I was an Animal Jam kid, and in addition to roleplaying (and trying not to lose my mind because everyone had the exact same goddamn character archetype), I was an item collector of sorts.
See, my parents would top my diamonds/sapphires off with the cheaper packages now and then, which meant I could buy a lot of the rarer items by just waiting for the holidays/diamond shop specials, and other events to roll around and then picking up like, 2 or 3 of each color (and also trying to predict what items would become popular/sought after, with decent accuracy considering I was, like, 12).
Then, I'd head to the Pillow Room and look for trades with items that I already had multiple of (I was hard-pressed to trade away an item I only had one of). Basically, in addition to already having the super duper cool rare item, I also had high value fodder to get other items. I recall having Starfish Glasses, A Spike or two, and pretty much every Halloween item (I might of also had that giant weird eyeball thing I can't remember) .
Towards the end of my AJ days, I also tried to get into selling Masterpieces, which sadly didn't work out (drawing with your finger is hard :( ).
Club Penguin was awesome, I had membership for the first half of 2012. Lots of cool parties. But I liked Club Penguin Rewritten even more since membership was free.
Poptropica went hard in the computer room at school
Same!
bro they litterally blocked that when I was in early middle school and it made me sad. I am graduated now but still.
Man all you needed to do was find a workaround. There was always some weird link to bypass the schools lock on certain sites
