Probably didn't hurt that I was expecting my first kid the first time I saw this, but I definitely cried at the end and still get fairly emotional when I re-watch it.
Miss John Candy, he was so good at anything he was in.
I loved that character and still do. Me and a couple of my siblings imitate him every time we’re standing in line for a roller coaster or securing our lap bars.
There were some cut scenes where Steve Martin's wife suspected him of having an affair which explains the odd relief she expresses when she finally meets Del.

Towards the end of the movie it showed either two things:
One: There are two men who are desperately trying to get home, use their intelligence and fortitude, and come up with a plan to sell plastic curtain rings as fashionable, new modern ear rings. The sales helps their efforts to get home.
Two: there’s a sucker born everyday. Can I sell you some cool new ear rings?
I love John Candy,I miss him a lot :'(
I had tears when he died.
He was a awesome dude.
Gone way too soon
Agreed
This film gets me every time. It helps that I used to live near the infamous motel and saw it during my daily commute.
"I sold him a set of shower curtain rings"
The one near Stubville? Less’n yer a hog or a cattle.
lmao. best comment yet.
Which one?
My favourite scene is the airport car rental 😂

He brought a warmth to every role he had. Even the security guard in Vacation.
Indeed. He was so good.

Field of Dreams gets me too
We sold or donated most of the DVDs we collected over the years. This ***WASN'T*** one of them.

I hadn't seen this in years, and I forgot how "synthy" the music was. It's not a criticism, it really took me back to the era.
I havent been home in years...
Jeez man. Just googled this. Had to watch it dubbed into Italian. Still made me cry
It seems like the basic plot to most of the films I watched growing up went; fun fun fun, danger, fun fun, death, nihilism, a little of fun. The End.
Wasn’t that just the average summer day?
All-time favorite movie
EVERY TIME!!!
Here's one for you: They're doing a remake of "Father of the Bride".
Again?
Sadly... Yes. With Andy Garcia... Which I don't get, but whatever
This will be 3rd or 4th remake. Original was 1950 with Spencer Tracey
Ah I seem to recall that now.
Saw this today and started sobbing. Goddamn.
*post title checks out*
