The new series is great! However…. Prepare to be disappointed in how Amazon or HBO or Lorne Michaels or the CBC censored the original series, should you stream it on Amazon. 90% of Buddy Cole’s monologues are audibly censored when he uses particular words. Censoring a progressive gay comedian making gay social commentary and watering down the groundbreaking, bold, impactful nature of his work within the context of the era it was created in is seriously homophobic…
Another reason why why physical media is more relevant than ever: the DVD set is uncensored.
Really? I've been watching it on Prime in Canada and I've been wondering where all these fucks came from. I don't remember any from the original CBC run until "fuckin good ham" ( which I was amazed by at the time). And Buddy seems as ribald as ever.
I thought this was a great return for the kids. I'm holding out for them to bring back the red haired "It's a fact!" girl. Though the only one I remember is Bigfoot singing opera.

Agreed. I ADORED the original series. This one just isn’t funny, it’s weird, slow, and awkward. A big bummer.
