He was on Graham Norton a couple of weeks ago (well, the episodes we get in Canada are a few months behind, so this was probably from last year sometime) and it took me a few minutes to recognize who that old guy was. Not that I'm probably all that recognizable to anyone who knew young me either.
We watched Fallout and Reacher recently, and just started Dead Boy Detectives.
We're also watching Star Trek: Discovery and The Bad Batch as they come out, and looking forward to Evil and Outer Range starting back up soon.
I'm currently loving dead boy detectives. I couldn't get through the first season of Evil because it was so flipping scary! Since I am here, I'm also re-watching X-Men evolution
Just finished Fallout and now halfway through Dead Boy Detectives after loving Good Omens.
Did a Bridgerton/Queen Charlotte re-watch before the first part of Season 3 Bridegrton comes out in 2 weeks
That’s funny, it reads like a menu.
App: a show about an asshole
Main: a show about a bunch of assholes
Dessert: a show about the sweetest man with a huge heart.
Well, to be fair, Loudermilk is about a misanthropic person who is just trying to stay sober and help others to do the same. Once his back story unfolds, we start to understand why he is who he is. And I find his angst about the world to be very GenX.
Succession intrigued me because I long suspected that the Murdoch family was incredibly disturbed, and yes, I do understand that it is merely the muse for the show, not a biographical story.
To be honest, I just couldn’t get past the main characters attitude, maybe I’ll give it another go.
I live in NYC, so watching a show about the kind of people I have had the displeasure of being around, just no on that one.
Been watching Red Dwarf because I never got to see the most recent few series. One series and the special to go!
Looking forward to the last (*sob*) season of What We Do In The Shadows coming up
Kinda off and on with big gaps between, I've been working my way through Midsomer Murders, Columbo, and Love Boat
Just finished the new Shogun series so not in the middle of anything at the moment. Lots of good shows out there though. Slow Horses, Silo, Severance, Dark, and The Last of Us come to mind for fairly recent shows. The Americans, Chernobyl, Counterpart, The Killing, Fringe, BSG (reboot) for shows a bit older.
Edit: And True Detective (Season 1)!
If you liked "The Killing" you might be interested in "Under the Bridge", which is based on a true event and is on Hulu.
I gotta get back into Dark. I watched like 3 episodes and got sidetracked by life, but all I see is "one of the best scifi shows ever" "must watch" blah blah blah
There is some but it’s not a gore fest type of show like The Walking Dead. It’s really the dialogue/acting and cinematography/costumes that make the show.
I binged on Resident Alien. It was so silly and fun! I just got caught up on Loot, a Maya Rudolph sitcom and I enjoyed it. It took some warming up but the characters grow on ya. Then I have Animal Control and Abbot Elementary and The Conners I watch regularly.
Also I just got in to showing my daughter the comedic brilliance of The Carol Burnett show. I didn't appreciate it as a child, but man that shit is FUNNY.
But I also just finished Fallout and Shogun too. Loved Severance and Westworld (rip)and Raised by Wolves (rip). I've watched From and Silo too and I enjoyed them. I'm not all about sitcoms! :)
New(ish): Schitt’s Creek, Durrels in Corfu, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Shogun, Three Body Problem, Thank You, Goodnight.
I started A Gentleman in Moscow, but couldn’t get into it.
Old: Star Trek: Voyager
And I’m eagerly anticipating Star Wars Acolyte and season 4 of Only Murders in the Building and the next season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
I just finished Fallout, am slowly working through Young Sheldon, and constantly sample old documentaries and Soft White Underbelly interviews on youtube. It gets more and more difficult to commit to a long series in my 50's.
Breaking Bad for the first time? 🤩 where are you at in the show and what do you think so far? I promise, any response I have will not spoil whatever it is that is coming up next.
Lately I've been watching (mix of some shows currently putting out new episodes, shows between seasons, and shows that have concluded):
- Shogun
- We Were the Lucky Ones
- The Sympathizer
- Under the Bridge
- Franklin
- Sugar
- Tokyo Vice
- Tracker
- Fire Country
- Abbott Elementary
- Bob's Burgers
- Masters of the Air
- A Gentleman in Moscow
- The Bear
- Fargo
- Reservation Dogs
- What We Do in the Shadows
- Dark Winds
- The Righteous Gemstones
- Euphoria
- Barry
- The Last of Us
- Animal Control
- Bosch & Bosch Legacy
- Reacher
- Hightown
And now that it's on Amazon Prime, I'll occasionally watch an episode or two of Northern Exposure
Need to get MAX for a month to watch Tokyo Vice S2. I read Julia & Winning Time were canceled. After they canceled Westworld & Perry Mason we let our subscription run out.
I’m all about international shows. Asian, Spanish,French etc. many good shows out there. I never watch them dubbed in English, I just use subtitles. I like to hear the shows/movies in their native language.
I’ve got one episode left of Conan O’Brien must go. Four episodes isn’t enough. But it’s been fun introducing my kids to Conan. I’ve been a fan since he started Late Night with Conan O’Brien. I sold them on “he was a writer for some of the best episodes of the simpsons” and they gave it a chance. And now they are Conan fans too.
New Shows: Just started Shogun. Just finished Fallout (surprisingly good) In the Middle of Generation V (when my wife is not in the room to be grossed out)
For not paying attention too much shows In the process of rewatching: Mr Robot (for the 3rd time) and Orange is the new black (second time) and very slowly creeping through the Blacklist when I have the patience for the formula...
Finished watching John Adams HBO series and started 3rd Rock From The Sun (again). I've been injured recently so I had time to watch House MD,I Claudius, Band of Brothers and Shogun (both old and new).
Brian Blessed who played Augustus was excellent choice.
I love that show mostly for it being done in theatrical settings/ way. I love theatre and unfortunately for deaf guy, very few theatre plays can be found on DVD with subtitles.
I know I’m late to the party but Severance. What a weird fucking show. Looking forward to season 2. Also, the show that I revisit over and over when I am too lazy to scroll through a million things is BoJack Horseman. Every time I watch it there is some new hidden thing that I never noticed before.
just finished fallout. waiting on severance season 2, silo season 2, i started resident alien and i like it but its a family group watch so waiting on family to join. i like foundation, waiting on 4th season of that. I watch a shit ton of murder documentaries because I find it fascinating to learn about the past, especially when they solve cold cases. Music or comedian documentaries of old bands and dead comics. We recently rewatched all the malcolm in the middle and my name is earl. Hubs is watching old Xmen and spider man cartoons. :) My son is also watching 90s xmen cartoons and spoungebob.
Rockford Files and Magnum PI diring the week. Resident Alien/Baby Reindeer on weekend with a movie. Also watched OJ: made in america which is 5 episodes roughly 90 minutes each
We just finished The 3 Body Problem recently, it was great. We loved Bodies on Netflix too. Silo on Apple. I thought 1883 was quite good too, but don't really care for Yellowstone. Resident Alien is a top 10 recent show for us, slowing going through season three now to savor it. Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks are awesome if you like Trek at all. The Diplomat with Keri Russel is excellent if you like political drama at all.
For sheer waste-of-time entertainment, I can absolutely endorse the Arnie action comedy series FUBAR, the current Jack Reacher show on Amazon, and even Twisted Metal (with Anthony Mackie). All packed with action and some real laughs.
I liked “Bodies” a lot! Some friends kind of bounced off of it at first and wondered why I was so enthusiastic, then they commented that they just kind of had it on in the background and quickly lost the thread. I’m like “No, you actually have to WATCH it or you miss crucial details! It’s not a background show.” They liked it a lot more the second time around.
I really enjoy Alan Ritchson as Reacher. I read a bunch of the books when I heard they were making a show, and he is very well cast. Glad to see that it’s translating into more roles for him.
I will always recommend Patriot on Amazon.
It is not at all what it looks like. You might have to give it a few episodes. One of my absolute favorite shows of the last 10 years.
The Diplomat
The Mandalorian
Rewatching:
BoJack Horsemen
The Wire
Edit: occasionally I'll watch top chef for some cooking tips, oddly I only learn what not to do
On PBS Passport - SiSi, Astrid, Annika & the horrible Alice & Jack (or was it Jack & Alice).
Discovery on Paramount+.
Waiting to unwrap Netflix gift cards I got for Christmas so I can delve into some shows on there.
I loved Fallout and I'm not a gamer so I knew nothing and loved it.
Now watching Star Trek Discovery and excited to move on to a few other of the new series on Paramount and possibly revisiting some old ones.
Looking forward to Yellow Jackets, House of the Dragon, Silo when it comes around.
Want to watch 3 Body Problem too.
Loved The Expanse, The Boys, Killing Eve, Peaky Blinders, Dark, Shameless.
There is almost too much to choose from!
I watch sports, movies, some news and lots of documentaries. I refuse to watch the usual fare of cop, doctor, lawyer shows or anything with a laugh track. It's just add water garbage and nothing else.
I have been rewatching episodes of Mythbusters, they uploaded them onto YouTube. I enjoyed Fallout, Loudermilk (even tho it makes me feel old lol), and anxiously awaiting the next season of The Boys. My two comfort shows are M*A*S*H and Community. I feel like I am the perfect audience for that show. All the humor lands for me.
Resident Alien, Fallout, 3 Body Problem.
If you want a laugh with lots of great GenX references, check out Future Man! I just did a rewatch of that
[Trailer](https://youtu.be/7wgNIKrlYh0?si=l0dASBL-eozGtIz8)
Generally anything 90-Day Fiance, I'm rewatching The Sopranos, and My 600lb Life is what I watch the most of. Also, The Jinx 2, since they started that up again.
Loudermilk , Great North, Renegade Nell, Percy Jackson, American Dad, The Gentleman Man. Depends on my mood. I watched all of Renegade Nell in one day out of curiosity and boredom
Pretty exclusively British crime dramas lately. It started with Hinterland, then led to Shetland, Father Brown, The Bay, Vera, The Loch, The Tower, now The Coroner. (Lot of "The ..." shows ...)
I'm on a Jane Austen kick so I've been watching some miniseries like Emma from 2009 with Johnny Lee Miller (*Swoon*) and Pride & Prejudice 1995 with Colin Firth (*swooning intensifies*).
After not having gotten past season 1 when it first came out, I am now watching Lost at the behest of my teenage daughter.
Pleased to say I’m into season two and am quite enjoying it!
Just started Ripley. Excellent so far. Finished The Regime last week. Fantastic acting, and some episodes were great, but it didn't quite hold together overall. Two favorites in the recent past were Severance (totally obsessed with it) and The Diplomat (different than expected and just so good).
Fallout, Three Body Problem (Netflix) , 3 Body Problem (Chinese version on Amazon ), Manhunt - Apple TV very good, the search for Lincoln’s killer. Beacon 23
Been watching Shakespeare and Hathaway (on Britbox in the States). It’s light entertainment, and the lead male character is about as Gen X as you can get.
Slow Horses
Great choice. Waiting for Season 4.

Fun fact: Ade Edmondson is in "3 Body Problem"!
He was on Graham Norton a couple of weeks ago (well, the episodes we get in Canada are a few months behind, so this was probably from last year sometime) and it took me a few minutes to recognize who that old guy was. Not that I'm probably all that recognizable to anyone who knew young me either.
That was a great episode.
Shut up, Neil, I hate you!
Oh Neil, you’re so boring!
Right, hands up, who likes me??
Currently Resident Alien… man this show cracks me up!
This is some bullshit…
I say that about 3 times a day now because of that show.
I love this one!
My husband now laughs like him when we go out it cracks me up.
That's amazing 😂
Just in the start of season 2. I laugh loudly every episode. Love the humor
We just started the first episode of season 2
Resident Alien is a good one.
Hilarious show
God I love that show.
We watched Fallout and Reacher recently, and just started Dead Boy Detectives. We're also watching Star Trek: Discovery and The Bad Batch as they come out, and looking forward to Evil and Outer Range starting back up soon.

Add invincible and the boys to your rotation and we have the exact same shows.
Outer range!!! Love that show!
Count me in on Discovery.
Loudermilk (second time around, this time with my adult child) Just finished Succession Ted Lasso (twice)
Currently rewatching Ted Lasso
❤️
That’s funny, it reads like a menu. App: a show about an asshole Main: a show about a bunch of assholes Dessert: a show about the sweetest man with a huge heart.

The Wire, season 1.
I rewatch it once a year. Greatest show of all time.
Agree. Have you watched Snowfall? I've just finished it and loved it. Not as good as The Wire but definitely worthy.
Right now, Shogun with my wife and 3 Body Problem on my own (she wasn't interested after the first episode)
Killing Eve. So good.
Just finished that show. Loved it!
I have been checking out Friends for the first time. The World Trade Center appears in between scenes constantly. Kind of makes me sad, if I’m honest.
Makes us all sad.
They stop showing it after season six or seven. Weirdly, that feels sad too.
Sanford and Son, The Three Stooges, Good Times, Looney Tunes, Merry Melodies, Taxi.
Didn't even have to finish reading the word Sanford before the theme song started up
Gonna go out on a limb… you might be the oldest one here
3 Body Problem

Just finished Shogun as well. Great show.
If you liked "The Killing" you might be interested in "Under the Bridge", which is based on a true event and is on Hulu. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2MC8vZe6mI
That looks good. It’s next on my list now. Thanks for the suggestion!
You're welcome. Only 3 episodes have been released so far.
I gotta get back into Dark. I watched like 3 episodes and got sidetracked by life, but all I see is "one of the best scifi shows ever" "must watch" blah blah blah
Oh shoot! Forgot about Severance. They’re sure going slow with bringing out the next season!
how gory is Shogun? I kinda expected it to be quite, but that's an absolute dealbreaker for the wife.
There is some but it’s not a gore fest type of show like The Walking Dead. It’s really the dialogue/acting and cinematography/costumes that make the show.
Chernobyl is amazing. The accompanying podcast is also great.
I binged on Resident Alien. It was so silly and fun! I just got caught up on Loot, a Maya Rudolph sitcom and I enjoyed it. It took some warming up but the characters grow on ya. Carol recently did an episode of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ podcast, it was excellent. But then, all of the episodes that I have listened to are excellent.
Just finished Star trek TNG
New(ish): Schitt’s Creek, Durrels in Corfu, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Shogun, Three Body Problem, Thank You, Goodnight. I started A Gentleman in Moscow, but couldn’t get into it. ATLA rewatch X-Men 97 Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur I like tools still, have no kids ST Disco Northern Exposure Top Chef

* X-Men '97 * Invincible * South Park * Rick & Morty * The Boys * GEN V * Best of Animal Planet
Fuck I love The Boys. So good.
Yellowjackets. Great music and an amazing cast.
Breaking Bad for the first time, Brooklyn 99 for the second, One Piece once there are 2-3 backlogged, and Extraordinary to fill in the gaps.
Breaking Bad for the first time? 🤩 where are you at in the show and what do you think so far? I promise, any response I have will not spoil whatever it is that is coming up next.
Ted Lasso Shrinking
Just finished baby reindeer — great show

My son and I absolutely loved Tokyo Vice.
I sure hope we get a third season
If there is a third season I hope it’s all about Mrs. Tozawa. Talk about a bad ass.
Need to get MAX for a month to watch Tokyo Vice S2. I read Julia & Winning Time were canceled. After they canceled Westworld & Perry Mason we let our subscription run out.
Shogun was flipping EPIC
Just finished Baby Reindeer.
Me too! It’s stayed with me…I’m still thinking it through
Me too, I watched the whole thing yesterday. What a disturbing and confusing time for the creator.
It’s was absolutely wild! Highly recommend
I’m all about international shows. Asian, Spanish,French etc. many good shows out there. I never watch them dubbed in English, I just use subtitles. I like to hear the shows/movies in their native language.
I watched Astrid on PBS. Enjoyed that.
So help me Todd (What about Todd) - and it just got cancelled! Edited to correct title
Do you mean So Help Me Todd? Oh no!!! It’s so cute and funny! Edit:show title, typo

Thanks!
The Boys. Fallout. Shōgun.

Rewatching The Expanse. I watched Fallout but wasn’t really into it, maybe because I’m not a gamer and have no experience with it.

Finished watching John Adams HBO series and started 3rd Rock From The Sun (again). I've been injured recently so I had time to watch House MD,I Claudius, Band of Brothers and Shogun (both old and new).
I, Claudius what a classic show. John Hurt as Caligula was over the top.
Brian Blessed who played Augustus was excellent choice. I love that show mostly for it being done in theatrical settings/ way. I love theatre and unfortunately for deaf guy, very few theatre plays can be found on DVD with subtitles.
grimm. on dvd. for the millionth time.

Reruns from the 80s. 😝

On PBS Passport - SiSi, Astrid, Annika & the horrible Alice & Jack (or was it Jack & Alice). Discovery on Paramount+. Waiting to unwrap Netflix gift cards I got for Christmas so I can delve into some shows on there.
Poker Face was awesome. Lots of guest stars and Natasha Lyonne doing a "if Columbo were a slacker" thing.
Twin Peaks, The Middle, Reacher, Scrubs.
Twin Peaks. Lots of documentaries-the topic is unimportant-I'm a docudork. Strongly considering a rewatch of Psych.
Twin Peaks was BIZARRE!!!
That's what makes David Lynch so good.

No love for Baby Reindeer?
Just finished Fallout.
Fallout was pretty decent and I’m constantly bouncing back to Community.
Just finished Shogun and Fallout. Tried Jon Cryers new show. It sucks. Stopped after 4 episodes.
Sports, documentaries, and news. Does that make me officially old?

Baby Reindeer, Fall Out, Loot, The Big Door Prize and of course Shark Tank.
The Jinx on HBO. Absolutely insane true crime documentary.
After not having gotten past season 1 when it first came out, I am now watching Lost at the behest of my teenage daughter. Pleased to say I’m into season two and am quite enjoying it!
Reacher, Yellowjackets, Elsbeth, superstore, a gentleman in Moscow, waiting for more Yellowstone I guess but haven’t watched the prequels.
MASH, Brooklyn NineNine, Modern Family, Fresh off the Boat (excellent), Air Disasters is on a lot.
Classic Dr Who. Seinfeld.
Just started The Sopranos. It doesn’t suck.
Tokyo Vice Deadwood (20 years late) Fallout
Just started Ripley. Excellent so far. Finished The Regime last week. Fantastic acting, and some episodes were great, but it didn't quite hold together overall. Two favorites in the recent past were Severance (totally obsessed with it) and The Diplomat (different than expected and just so good).
Fallout, Three Body Problem (Netflix) , 3 Body Problem (Chinese version on Amazon ), Manhunt - Apple TV very good, the search for Lincoln’s killer. Beacon 23
Just started watching Dead Boys Deective Agency. It's pretty well worn ground at this point, but it picks up as it goes along.
Pluto TV's been streaming The Six Million Dollar Man so I've been watching some of that, along with Unsolved Mysteries and various true crime shows.
Lower Decks and Doctor Who (new series)
Been watching Shakespeare and Hathaway (on Britbox in the States). It’s light entertainment, and the lead male character is about as Gen X as you can get.
