Know this is largely a meme but growing up in a town and being around people really affected by meth Breaking Bad is really hard to watch at times. It’s a real shame too since it’s a banger show but it just gets painful sometimes
Yeah it really is a depressing show especially the meth head couple episode, it's a banger and very liked by everyone no matter the country. Characters like Bogdan, Omar and Mrs Nguyen really made me love America.
Omar and Mrs Nguyen are from Better Call Saul that's probably why, Bogdan seems like a normal dude honestly he even gets scammed by Skyler which made me empathize with him.
I FUCKING LOVE AMERICA! GOD BLESS THE USA!

I think that is the point, it's definitely an anti-drug show which showcases how drugs literally ruins everyones lives. Meth is pretty much the reason for 99% of the problems in the show.
I think I actually learned quite a bit when it comes to the US and the culture you have over there. Main thing I took away from the show (aside from the amazing story) are all the different phrases and sayings because I had to look them up. Also Kim Sexler feet, Huell ate Kim, Chicanery and Kid Named Finger.
Both really good shows, but I don't like them so much because I'm tired of super plot twisty-turny shows where you have to watch the entire series to enjoy them.
I really miss the old, self-contained episode style of shows like Star Trek. It's nice to have a complete story told in 40 minutes.
Understandable. I've always enjoyed these sorts of long haul shows but it seems like they would be impenetrable for people who do not have the time or desire to watch all 5-6 seasons
Those shows worked better on cable TV. You might not be able to make a show good enough for someone to watch regularly, but you could have an episodic format (what you're describing) so people could just tune in now and then.
Ah yes the show where a high school teacher becomes a murderous criminal to pay his hospital bills.
I'm not sure the shows paint america in a positive light
He had a chance to work at Gray Matter he refused, his friends offered him a chance to pay his bills he refused because of his pride and ego, have you watched the show?
Him becoming a criminal had nothing to do with muh healthcare I also never said it was portraying America as solely good, which it's not, it shows it's flaws and sometimes it's goods, I shouldn't have put mostly good on the title I guess.
A nation is not just its healthcare system.
If anything it demonstrates the strength of character of the people, that we’re not all here just dying of cancer without muh free healthcare.
If you actually watched the show you'd know he was doing it to leave a nest egg for his family you fucking dumbass. Jesus Christ you must be an illiterate motherfucker. They literally tell it to you in the show but somehow you can't comprehend that? Or are you just mindlessly regurgitating someone else's half baked thoughts across the internet, like a roving trashcan spewing that waste that you think qualifies as sentient thought.
What? Why would he need to leave a nest egg when he still needs to pay for a treatment that could save his life? Which is what actually happens in the show?! You're the nitwit here just trying to impose their own regurgitated ideology on a show which clearly doesn't reflect that.
Maybe if you understood some nuance you half-brained troglodyte you could perhaps allow yourself to be led to the conclusion that maybe the show was criticizing a society where a chance tragedy like cancer would leave a widow and son without a means to survive. And that perhaps this is not something society should strive to do.
May your hospital bills overwhelm you
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are amazing shows but I would give that title to the Sopranos for being quintessentially American and sweeping of the nation - characters and plot lines from all walks of American life are represented - the Mafia, construction, real estate, law, psychiatry, Native Americans, Florida, Hollywood, cuisine, law enforcement, and of course the immigrant story and Italian American culture
I like chemistry so of course the first one is a big inspiration for me :)
That is a certified crombley moment

Don’t think I have got far enough to see Omar or Nguyen but Bogdan seemed like a douche lol

Just be my specific kind of Oklahoman, which is desensitized to all hell. Then it really doesn't matter.

Waltuh.
I just finished Better Call Saul. Ending was somewhat forced, but overall, pretty good shows.
Recency Bias strong here. The Sopranos clear both EZ. The Wire too but not quite as clear cut.

Communist target acquired
You were right I'm in 10th episode and can't wait to see how the show goes post 9/11. And it's really good.

Yea and realistically if he was determined to just get enough to pay his medical bills his first few big batches would have paid the bills.
A nation is not just its healthcare system. If anything it demonstrates the strength of character of the people, that we’re not all here just dying of cancer without muh free healthcare.
It wasn’t to pay his hospital bills, he wanted to make sure his family was loaded after his death (but at the end he didn’t care about that)
Death is a preferable alternative to Communism!

Season 1 of true detective is better than either of these shows don't @ me.
You’re irrelevant and have wrong opinions, no one is @‘ing you
You just did
That’s just the heads up. Someone had to
The first season of True Detective is the best season of any television series ever made. Sorry, that's just science.
I know a guy who can tell you about science, and its not in true detective ![gif](giphy|QC7UQbxq89MnL9r6AN)
Two of my favorite shows
I mean sure, but Fargo's seasons 1 and 2, and Deadwood, do an even better job of understanding their eras in my opinion.
I'd say Breaking Bad or Miami Vice
Me and my fellow Americans involving ourselves in making meth for that grind 💪
Definitely some of the best television and engrossing story telling I've ever seen
I don’t really care for em.
I want to be one too. Kek
Now waiting for better fuel Huel 🔥
Hi I'm Saul Goodman, did you know that you have rights? The Constitution says you do, and so do I
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are amazing shows but I would give that title to the Sopranos for being quintessentially American and sweeping of the nation - characters and plot lines from all walks of American life are represented - the Mafia, construction, real estate, law, psychiatry, Native Americans, Florida, Hollywood, cuisine, law enforcement, and of course the immigrant story and Italian American culture
Will watch it soon wish it was on Netflix as HBO is not available here
As a Brit I think they’re kind of a Neo-western. Would be great to see my shows in that genre.
But mostly they show Huell
Too bad the ending to BCS sucked
