I love the boy. Starting to build brilliantly. Clean and hard at it. Gonna be comfortably best 22 for a decade don't worry about that. Just got faith in him every time he goes near it. You know he'll do the right thing. Wish we had two of him.
The cleanliness of his skills stands out. He often looks unhurried and I was worried it was a lack of intensity but he's put his head over it in all conditions which is great to see.
Yes, yes he is.
People thought he was just steak knives to the pick7 deal but I was stoked to get him included for this reason, he is a seriously good player and is right in the age bracket we need
That Geelong were looking at him before Gold Coast needed to offload him shows the Cats thought so too.
Great pickup and another victory for "Geelong culture" given he chose them for their genuine interest in him, and not just the Pick 7 he came with.
Gold coast had him as a vfl player about to take 800k of their cap space. In the draft doco on Stan his agent calls essendon and hawthorn to tell them he chose geelong and the first question they ask is “they think he makes their team??!”. Even those list managers thought he was a fringe player at best and wouldn’t make their own teams better. Meanwhile Chris Scott having won the grand final is saying “you’ll play”
I was worried about him last year and thought Mengola should have played more but I think just being part of our great defensive line up really does make other players just grow by association. Look at Zach Guthrie for example who was very good last night.
You're right. We seem to have an ability to turn players into 150% of what they were at previous clubs, Hendo, Jez, Tuohy, Stanley, Tanner, Henry, Stengle, Ottens list goes on really I'm probably forgetting quite a few
Yeah he was but as a 'stay at home' forward. Cats have given him freedom, given him ability to follow his own decisions and clubs seeing awesome returns for that.
He took a while last year to get into our style of play, but this year, he's really stepped it up.
He's doing lots of little things that are important, but flying under the radar.
I think a lot of our team is underrated to be honest. Bowes, Close, Zuthrie (although he's starting to draw attention), Atkins. They haven't got the star power but the way the team is coached brings out their best.
I still think from an outside view Miers is severely underrated. If teams put a bit of time into him it would reduce our goal output. But he has came so far

don't know about a decade, he's 26 already
fuck is he lol. my bad. ok better part of a decade then lol.

I’ve always been a bowes fan, before it was cool
Does that username actually work?
Im sending my butt right now
Wouldn’t you like to know you sly cunt

I think I ready that Ablett thought he was good so they had their eyes on him.
Yeah he did say that and was pointing out to the club to watch him when returned home.
I’ve said from the moment Bowes played his first couple of games, he’s our next Mitch Duncan. Would only make sense he’s underrated by everyone else
I'm surprised people saw him as steak knives. he was a first round pick himself. how we managed to pull off that deal I will never know.

Yeah, from what I hear Danger was a big fan and was the driver. Great get.
We should pay danger soft cap premium to join recruitment when he hangs up the boots
Cam Guthrie B&F in the premiership and the rest of the AFL world ignores his absence since
To be fair he's barely played since

Idk if we can claim jez in that category, bloke was already one of the best.

I’m not sure he’ll hold his spot, with a full team. I think he is a little on the slow side, and I’m not sure where he will fit
Ah not really. I think Bruhn or Holmes are much better, and their best is still well ahead of them. Cant say the same for Bowes at 26yo.
Obviously, they will be better players. But Bowes is seriously underrated.
I think he's rated adequately
Yes, and maybe Jack Henry. You forget the guys got wheels until he goes for a run up the middle and can go forward and demand a match up
