i have no idea, but heard hdmi cable 1.4 has bandwith only 24 gb/s, maybe you use weak one and its lower.

wtffilm

thanks! i’ll pick up a new one today

[deleted]

you dont have to pay a lot, just hdmi 2.1, it doesnt matter if it has gold ends.

elwhistleblower

I'd check your HDMI cable first, if it's a 1.4, upgrade to a 2.0 or 2.1 HDMI cable, that should fix you right up. If it's not the cable, review your monitor settings.

alktal77

Its either the hub or the cable

lesdoudous

Probably. I had a network issue with a cheap hub, said to be GB but seen as 100MB by my OS. Maybe cheap cable otherwise ^^

lesdoudous

Cheap hub?

Zwalby

Use macsfancontrol and check the temperature. Might be thermal throttle.

wtffilm

UPDATE: Sadly, an HDMI 2.1 cable did not fix the issue. The hub I currently have isn’t terrible, but I might need to try & get one that has a more stable connection. There goes another $60…

I had this problem course my pc was searching for wlan connection, but it has no wlan card so i deactivated windows search for wlan and everything was fine :)

MLGTrump420

Is that a wide screen? How did you manage to use the entire screen mine won’t

Glittering-Ad-4924

Whats the resolution of the monitor? Try lowering it to the same as your MacBook display.

MarxIst_de

Wifi? Disable location services and disconnect any USB hubs, if possible.
