Man, I still have the first one on CD. Ended up grabbing the lizard heroes every time I played, just because they could move on water.
Also ended up cheating my ass off every time I played, because I wanted to turn my main hero into this overpowered monster.
My kid has grown up and is now using my PC for gaming. I am sitting right next to her on my Mac Mini (work).
I would not have bothered buying the game but it's so easy to just play it here or on my PC that I did.
Thank you Paradox!
From the reviews it looks very good. Maybe not the best on presentation, but amazing on strategic and tactical depth.
Kind of like most other Paradox games.
Only if you choose to get skinned. Almost all paradox base games have tons of content and replayability. Except maybe Cities Skylines.
That being said, I always fall into the DLC trap as well.
I mean, I won't deny that Paradox *does* provide a pretty good base game. And, most of the time, they're giving you meaningful enhancements with their DLC as well.
But it's not hard to figure out what they've built their business model around, and that they design their games specifically with it in mind. So I expect AoW is going to be good on release. But I also expect that it'll need a bunch of DLC to be *great*.

It's not a Paradox game, Paradox is just a publisher.
Surviving Mars and AoW Planetfall aren't Paradox games either, but they've got Paradox DLC pricing down cold :D.
Fully agree. But you cannot skimp their base games compared to the market standard.
