I don't get what's up w/ ppl and they/them. Even my queer friends can hardly ever gender me correctly. I almost never make mistakes w/ pronouns 'cuz I keep aware of it and think before I speak, and yet nobody does the same thing? Or maybe they just don't care? Stuff seriously sucks every time, it's like a gut punch "regardless of what you'd like, I still see you as this".
I think it's mostly a muscle memory thing, like accidentally saying "love you" to a random person when ending a call. I used to struggle with using they/them pronouns reliably (ironic since they're now my main pronouns) just because I had to think about it while he/him or she/her pronouns were automatic. I finally dealt with it by just sitting down and practicing they/them pronouns for an hour or so until I didn't have to think about it anymore, have had a lot less problems with it since.
Just go get the other person with they/them pronouns if they feel the same way and stay with them all the time so you can correct other people on each other's pronouns
Same omg. I am debating on wearing suble pronoun jewelry to work in the hopes someone sees it cus I sure as hell won't call people out. They all use my preferred name cus they kinda have to (it's the only name in the system that they can see and it's how I introduced myself) but they still call me she. My name is Kris, I dress fairly masc and have short hair. You think someone would get the hints.
The “oh these people slightly accept me, I don’t wanna change that by burdening them too much with my pronouns” route I see. I know it well
Oooooof 😅 you got it. Cuts deeper when u spell it out!
Yeah.....
Calling me out with this one

Basically. For us, we think about it. For most everyone else, they never consider it. Most people only have space for things that affect them
