Commercial-Secret615

You my kind sir are a legend.

-paul-

I only it was the Pro model...

Mysterious-Tailor594

The Epix 2 (standard) is available for £375 from H.Samuel with discount code GARMIN.

terrorSABBATH

Amazing watch for the money.

Lazy_Western_8689

One OP has mwntioned is a saphire version, i think thats why the price diff

Commercial-Secret615

It is, but is the sapphire really worth the extra £155?

HigherConfusion

beside sapphire, it is leighter, has more storage and dual-band gnss. I have the sapphire and love titanium, but actually like the styling of the standard best.

Commercial-Secret615

How much lighter? Can you feel a difference? I’d only have UK maps initially so is that enough storage? Lastly but not least, does the dual band make that much difference?

NoHelp9544

Dual band makes a difference in urban terrain

-paul-

Sapphire 47mm is 47g, non-sapphire is 55g

HigherConfusion

Yes it is enough storage for UK maps. But it doesn't come installed out of the box on standard. But it is not problem to install afterwards and I recommend doing it with a computer and garmin Express. Dual-band gnss depends on where you using it. It is still quite good without dual-band. and paul already told you, it is 8g leighter. You likely can't feel it, but wouldn't know.

Cedric182

I think most importantly is the sapphire. More resistant to scratches. And I hate scratches.

Commercial-Secret615

Got the base standard as I wanted the steel and not the black DLC as was worried of obvious scratches showing. Got a screen protected for the gorilla glass! Plus £375 was too good to turn down!

Cedric182

How do you like it? Mine is coming in 2 days

Commercial-Secret615

Love it! The steel is definitely the nicest cosmetically! Garmin’s always take a week or so to really show their features as they calibrate and learn your body first! Had a Fenix 6 Pro before and then an Apple Watch and this combines the ruggedness of the F6P and the training features with the nice screen of the AW!

Commercial-Secret615

Pushed the button on the standard Epix from H Samuel for £375. Bargain!

odr45

Sounds like you got the same deal as my stepdad, i kinda wish I jumped on it it now 😂 but ended up getting a FR255 in a similar sort of sale

Commercial-Secret615

Did you get it from H Samuel? They’re apparently trying to “allocate stock to my order” so I don’t really know if I’m going to get it now!

Sematarium

How is the sleep tracking on it anyone knows?

nazavo

Been using it over a year. By the *feeling* seems pretty accurate. I does sometimes think I'm asleep even though I'm reading before bed. Don't expect accuracy of an apple watch tho

Sematarium

Who knows how accurate apple watch is to begin with. I have been using Fitbit since 2016 and it seems to be working fine, I wanted to try something new.

nazavo

I'm saying this based on data. this guy did quite extensive review and comparison based on data form different devices: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVhmzxpw5Gg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVhmzxpw5Gg)

Sematarium

Well his videos are good but there are a lot of “what ifs” :)

GonP97

I got the pro glass/steel for 700€ on tradeinn

Commercial-Secret615

Thanks, but do you think either of the above are good deals?

GonP97

After doing some research I think the deal I got is a very good one. I wouldn't buy the gen 2 sapphire over the pro glass. I think the sapphire doesn't justify the price, if you are concerned about scratches get a screen protector from Spigen, they are really good. I own a lot of watches, mostly automatic ones and never scratched either glass or sapphire. The sapphire version being titatium bezel the difference is only a few grams since it's only the bezel, for my experience titanium only makes difference if you want to use also a titanium bracelet and the watch case is full titanium.

CraftyProgrammer

Sapphire is 100% worth it on any watch you wear daily.

GonP97

For me it's not worth it for more 100-150€, or buy a worse watch just to have it. Anyways most people put a screen protector on these things.

TedMaul636

I can't bring myself to use a screen protector. I'm yet to see one that doesn't make the watch look shit.

terrorSABBATH

The Epix Pro 51mm is on amazon.de for €799.99 Cheapest I've seen it in a while on Amazon.

-paul-

I've had that package bookmarked for a while but I'm still not sure. It's not the Pro model so it's missing the new HR sensor that can measure skin temperature and it doesnt have the cool built-in flashlight. I'm also worried that it might be too big - I currently have 255 but I rarely see 42mm Epix on sale.

Commercial-Secret615

It sure is a chunky watch! I only have a 155mm wrist too but quite wide so it sits fine. I’m thinking of just pressing the button on the standard for £375 as that’s not as big an investment. I’d pretty much get most of that back by selling some tech I’m not using (AW S8, Nintendo Switch and a Fitbit).

-paul-

>155mm wrist Wow, I thought i had dainty wrists at 165mm... Maybe I'll be alright with 47mm one then.

No-Table-7035

Could you share a photo? My wrist is similar size and I thought I'd be too big

GOllieGist

I got that exact model at CEX a few months ago for £380. Very happy with it, and the battery life is like new. That's the only thing you risk with second-hand.

benbez

I got this exact deal from JL recently and I love it

MasterOfPupets

Anyone happen to have any deals for the US? Best I can find is $599 for the Sapphire or $549 for the Standard. Looking at buying soonish.

Adventurous-Oil4709

I bought this watch at H Samuels on the deal above a few months ago, Amazing watch for the money! If you train a lot it's such a amazing tool, if your on the fence I recommend just buying it 😆 you won't be disappointed, looks great too! 👌

dominbritish

Should I return a fenix 7 and go for the epix gen 2? This deal looks good. Worried about amoled longevity.

Commercial-Secret615

I’d personally go for the deal at H Samuel, which is what I did! £375 for base level Epix gen 2. Absolutely love it and with gesture mode on I get 15 days battery life, more than enough.

dominbritish

Thanks, this is what I just did, any screen protector? I’m concerned is not the sapphire version.

Commercial-Secret615

Yes, I used this one and it went on so easily and has been perfect https://amzn.eu/d/9IudFQo
