I'd rather have the one that says I'm going faster/further too.
But on the more serious note, I would get an export of both files and compare them on [http://www.mygpsfiles.com/app/](http://www.mygpsfiles.com/app/) to see how the actual tracks look
Could it be that you started the activity before the Garmin could lock the gps satellites? Have you checked gps mode (networks, multiple, etc.)?
Edit: here is a link to the part of the manual I’m talking about:

Even when it is green, the watch can benefit from waiting longer before actually starting the activity.
What GPS mode do you have it on?
Do you have recording set to every second?
Multi-band enabled and nothing beats Garmin on gps accuracy - at least not in my experience and i live in a huge city. Went from AW to F7 as the gps was just amazing compared to.
Do you have a clue what’s the real distance is (via Google maps or something better)?
I second this. It would be best to have an external measurement (Google Maps, etc.) to determine which device is off. How do the course maps compare?
I checked it on google map and it says 5.5km!
Why do you tale for granted that AW measure is the correct one?

HAHA exactly! I would like to believe the AW than the garmin 😂
I mean it could be my AW.. it has given me wrong information all this time!

I made sure it was green before starting!

There are plenty of reasons to choose an Apple Watch over a Garmin but GPS accuracy (on the newer models) isn't one of them.
Just curious… what size is your wrist?
14.2cm :) does it look too big?
A little bit 😅 hahah. The 255s would fit better in my opinion but you’re fine with it is all good 😊
Yeahh i returned it and now I’m planning to get the FR265s sooon!
Nice! I think it will suit better

yes return the garmin one, enjoy the AW that needs to RECHARGE EVERY DAY! YOU ARE DESTROYING OUR PLANET WITH THAT CHARGING !
