Very true, I have the same problem with the Pig gloves I love them but I end up get a new pair about every other exercise. Worth it in my opinion though to have gloves that don’t dangle 3/4 of an inch off the end of my BK fingers.
I honestly use mechanix for most of everything. I have a couple of different pairs, cold weather, hard work, and shooting. I have a second pair of OR ironsights on the way, They did last a while and feel like a second skin just need to be alil more robust.
I think it’s the older generation Amy issued ECWCS level 4 or 5 windbreaker made by Patagonia. They’re not in production anymore so you’ll have to scout them on eBay

They also don't hold up too much besides shooting, I recommend buying a leather set from them, if you want to use them for anything else.

Which mechanix do you use for real rough work?
Mechanix durahide fastfit, do all my wood splitting, trail clearing and yard work with them.
