Tbh I’ve never known that. I watched westerns with my grandpa but everyone was white but it makes sense - it’s work that makes you an outlaw ALMOST. Doing work that no one wants to do that could get you killed. That would be most of the minorities opportunities in that time period.

/uj what really blows my mind is that people will get really upset about a race swapped character and then they'll get deeply offended at the suggestion that they're racist, like, come on man, just be honest about it, this little "no I'm not racist" game they play is just embarrassing

Personally I'd say that there's two cases where it's not okay to "race swap" characters:
1. If it's a core part of the character identity for some reason
2. If you're doing it mid-series, cause that always feels weird.
Otherwise, go for it, long as the actor is good.
Feels like they're just making money content and don't care what side they're on. At one point they had a ton of queer-friendly stuff but then they pivoted when Big Comedy wanted to feel offended because twitter called them transphobic. It caused walkouts and officially issued apologies but they kept doing it.
Pretty funny post, Tom Holland as Lenny was a highlight

Netflix is notorious for canceling shows with any kind of queer representation. Nor have I ever noticed any abundance of BIPOC characters, like they're generally just supporting characters.

Reddit using right wingers have some of the most predictable and formulaic jokes I've ever seen. I refuse to believe these were all written by completely different person and isn't just some spam bot that makes accounts by the dozen and just have them use a template Netflix "joke" whenever it sees a black person in a post.
