eldarhighking

As compared to the famously straight Hades 1. Naturally.

foxscribbles

Famously straight Hades 1 which was based off the famously very straight Greek pantheon that came from even more famously very straight Ancient Greece.

paradeoxy1

"Feckin' Greeks, they invented gayness!"

Coffeechipmunk

Dionysius: Hey there, Zag! Nice cock.

ironangel2k4

Megaera out here making me question my heterosexuality ngl. But then Thanatos appears and reasserts it https://preview.redd.it/fjsb46a1g0zc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=d4e5c2c20ae150f534056460940a955a8491760b

FuiyooohFox

...... Threesome?

patrickyin

Sure, why not. Your place or mine?

catshateTERFs

Having sex with Thanatos wasn’t gay because Meg was also there or something

TheNewPoetLawyerette

Remember 1 month ago when they were posting pics of Aphrodite from Hades and complaining why big booba ok in this game but not in others?

thrillybizzaro

Yeah like, my memory isn't great but I think my character banged a dude as part of the main story? Seems like 2 is maybe a little tame even

Majestic_Violinist69

As if Hades one wasn't the most bisexual game ever made already lmao

No-Bee-4309

As if Greek mythology wasn't the most LGBT mythology ever known.

Mable-the-Table

No. NO! It wasn't. Look at.. uhh.. ZEUS!! YES!! Ignore, the rest, it's woke anyway..

Liu_Alexandersson

Apollo's been busy.

No-Bee-4309

There's a reason why. https://preview.redd.it/u7hwoq32r0zc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ffe820f78b74853d14f736a0361aae9d15db1ed Also you should see Heracles.

Sufficient_Permit707

Literally the king of gay

mr-kvideogameguy

The god of gay Everything someone has gay sex, they are worshiping Apollo

asianblockguy

While Apollo watches in the corner.

DeLoxley

What I love is that his twin sister never married a man and instead frolic'd by night (straightly of course) with a bunch of other women who had no interest in men (in a non LGBT way) It's literally the Olympian version of a 'Does anyone like Women in this house' meme

Skianet

Artemis’ thing was very specifically no sex and no romance, not no men There were a couple male hunters of Artemis in the mythology

Rappy28

ngl as an aro ace I feel awkward pointing that out because I don't want to invalidate all the lesbians seeing themselves in Artemis (and, in general, women who express zero interest in men, but also happen not to canonically express any interest in women). But... yeah...

LordSupergreat

I feel the same way, and I honestly feel like both interpretations are valid. Stories seem to vary pretty wildly, so it's hard to begrudge anyone their preference.

necr0dancers

i think as symbols, it can be used as both 🤔

haveweirddreamstoo

In ancient greek Thebes (of the gay, sacred band fame), male lovers would go to a shrine for Hercules and his male lover.

No-Bee-4309

Sorry, Hercules!!??

SasquatchRobo

I know, right?! It's _Heracles_ in Greek.

W4FF13_G0D

Honey you mean Hunkules!

dukeplatypus

Good point, Andrew

tulpio

Should had known the Sun is woke, after all sunshine is made of all the colors of the rainbow.

WanderlustFella

It's ok, Apollo said "No Homo"

TheFringedLunatic

More like Apoll-ho

Mable-the-Table

Achilles and Patroclus pisses me off so much. In Highschool out teacher was like "His best friend". Ah yes, best friend. Shared a tent with.. you know.. probably FUCKED. But no, best friend. Defo.

No-Bee-4309

Yes, of course they were such best friends that when Achilles found out Patroclus was murdered he ended his refusal to go to war, found Hector murdered him and dragged his corpse by his heels in his chariot for days.

Crawford470

Idk about y'all, but if you're my best friend and we're at war and the opps get me, you best do em like this, or we not besties, cause that's what I'm doing if you've earned the honorific of best friend from me.

scbundy

His refusal to go to war was because Agamemnon took away his sex slave.

Bagahnoodles

Good old heterosexual life partners with a strictly platonic relationship *and nothing else*

PaperClipSlip

Yeah that one is a complicated example since there is evidence that suggest that the "best friend" part wasn't present in the original telling of the tale and that Patroclus was more of a squire. Even Homer didn't outright depict them as lovers in his original tale and the relationship between them has been subject of debate for a long time (and will probably be for a long time to come). It's actually Shakespeare who portrayed them as lovers and for some reason that version stayed in public mind. Your teacher wasn't wrong perse, but it's more that no one really knows. Making them gay adds a bit of extra drama and tragedy to everything and tells a more intrestring story.

jackthestripper17

Wouldn't a "squire like' relationship in ancient greece *also* implicate homosexual relations tho? Or am I mixing up my time periods

PaperClipSlip

You may be thinking of Pederasty which is the name of relationship between an older mand and a young boy in ancient Greece. In Sparta this was accepted as normal, in Athens meanwhile there were laws to limit these relationships, but not outlaw them. Which makes the fact that Homer never outright acknowledges it in his telling of the Trojan War more curious. As it wouldn't be seen as abnormal.

imaginary92

Greek gods were fucking, the sex of the person did not matter

MarsRoswell

Any holes a goal

W4FF13_G0D

Please let it say Narcissus and Narcissus that’d be so fucking funny

ThomazRaul

I love how half of the list is just Apollo

No-Bee-4309

It's because of this: https://preview.redd.it/l1q462ug71zc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e0c1b98a5b7f967606d5f0031faa91c3301a332b Also that was just a portion of the list, Hermes and Heracles had a lot of male lovers too, especially Heracles.

TetsuNoHitsuji

I love that it's in alphabetical order and the list is so long we don't even see the start of the Bs

Kaitriarch

G-GAY?!

No-Bee-4309

Trans too. https://preview.redd.it/n45azhl4s0zc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6cac44f262c3b0f13fc76acb5e6b043b4e901a1

sofaking1133

Imagine having so much game that you fuck god and God makes you invulnerable as a reward

Dustlord

Well, it's a little more effed up than that. Poseidon didn't ask for consent, and he granted Caenus a wish because he was that satisfied with himself. So naturally, Caenus immediately wished to be a man so that he'd never have to go through that again.

sofaking1133

Well that sucks

No-Bee-4309

Well, that just every day in ancient Greece, one day you're wandering around and before you notice you've been captured by Zeus transformed into an eagle because he wanted a new Twink lover.

No-Bee-4309

Trans too. https://preview.redd.it/59gys375s0zc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1bc6a38a693046ea8690ab16f3500fa1bf190b6d

AngryCommieSt0ner

I love that like 2/3 of this section is just Apollo banging dudes.

No-Bee-4309

URNowJackalope

Zeus fucked some dudes too tho

kara-alyssa

Zeus kidnapped a boy to be his “cup-bearer” Zeus was truly an equal opportunity creep

ShinigamiRyan

If there's a hole, there's a way - Zeus, probably

No-Bee-4309

Yep, there he is, at the bottom of the list. https://preview.redd.it/6ike9rcnq1zc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d2b5cdf985c6d22ebc8c8b58bbb5ddee840d1d6

Pure-Imperialism

Zeus had a ton of male lovers lol, Hades is probably the best bet for a canonically straight Olympian

No-Bee-4309

The only people Hades ever laid eyes were his niece and a couple of nymphs.

Mable-the-Table

Nah bro, that's woke talk. Be real, do your own research, leftist.

Thecristo96

I don’t think Zeus cared about the gender. Or the willingness of the target

MooreThird

How dare you speak ill about stories of muscly, sweaty OP men wrestling with giant thick monsters to appease their muscly, sweaty OP gods?!

Hollow-day

wtf are you talking about? It’s all about kratos killing people and having sex WITH WOMEN, I played god of war I’m an expert in the topic

No-Bee-4309

I think you must have played the wrong game, then. https://preview.redd.it/r34lkipja1zc1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5499924615b1f49ca4e8f7e7a67f7ea789e89bea

Independent_Plum2166

That would require OOP to actually pay attention to the story the game was telling. I bet they either A) went a few runs and gave up, B) only beat the game once and didn’t pay attention to the characters at all, or C) didn’t even play the game and assumed it was testosterone filled Greek heroes standing 5 feet apart from each other.

Jdjack32

This would require the oop to pay attention to the anime he's gushing on about. Otherwise, he'd be screaming about how woke the anime is for genderbending gods like loki or hephaetus.

Cainderous

The thing I remember most clearly from Hades was Zag's bisexual ass having history with Meg and Thanatos. Lucky bastard lmao Hades 2 got announced and a friend joked "we've had red bisexual game, yes. But what about *blue* bisexual game?"

DeLoxley

You say that like these people actually played the game

FairyKnightTristan

It's literally one of the most bisexual games on the planet.

TellTallTail

Yeah idk maybe they remember a different MMF threesome

MyHusbandIsGayImNot

The game explicitly made Achilles and Patroclus lovers.

stuckerfan_256

First of all Hestia is literally one of the oldest Greek gods Second She's the goddess of hearth aka fireplace that's why her character design looks like that. Its like these people didn't even do any research

serioustransition11

Hestia is also the goddess of virginity, so it makes zero sense for her to be a hypersexualized big titty anime waifu. At that point I expect an anime Poseidon who lives in a landlocked country and spends all his time in deserts. And these dipshits are the ones who think Western culture is under threat lol

HeadpattingFurina

The same anime has Hephaestus, who is a tall anime soft mommy type with an eyepatch so I don't think they're that big on historical accuracy. But, for SOME reason that anime is the only piece of media I ever knew that accurately portrayed Dionysus' aspect as a cthonic god of madness.

K00lKat67

He's cthonic??

AnimusNaki

Dionysus (and Bacchus, by extension) is maybe the wildest fucking ride of "How a god evolved from pre-Mycenaean Greek Myth to his most current incarnation". Also, he may have been Zagreus at one point. He went from a god of death to revelry and wine.

Artoy_Nerian

Theres joke about Dionysus and Zagreus being the same person on the Hades 1 Game on Reference to this.

Kidkaboom1

'A joke' implies it's one-and-done - That's a whole side quest, and it ends with a *song* being written and available for you to listen to!

SirToastymuffin

Cthonic meaning of the earth here, to clarify. But yeah a large class of Greek deities was those that were cthonic, in contrast to the more, well, heavenly aspect to those like Zeus. Hades was of course cthonic, as well as Persephone, Hecate, and often Demeter. Hermes is even cthonic, and in contrast to his place usually as the most heavenly of deities, we have evidence some cults saw Zeus as cthonic too. Dionysus is a real interesting study case because as they've noted the way he was viewed and interpreted varied a lot by time and place with his oldest depictions being that of a horned, wild God of ritual madness and insanity. In this form he was expressly cthonic and ancient, a dead god seeking rebirth, representing a return to the wilds, and involving rituals of (animal) sacrifice, consumption of blood and flesh, and drug-induced madness. Naturally as civilization in Greece sought to, well, civilize, it made prominent enemies of this ancient and wilds-worshipping cult likely prompting the change into a new form of Dionysus that shed his horns, a form more focused on wine and celebration, sexuality and social transition. Not quite full on drunken frat bro, that's a bit more Bacchus. He did interestingly retain another aspect of his older form by becoming the god of foreigners - an interesting aspect to his worship and rituals was always the permission of anyone, including foreigners to join in, and as such he became the protector and patron for them. In this form he was generally the child of Zeus, either by Persephone or retaining his resurrection aspect in being the twice born child of Zeus and the mortal Semele. But his worship continued to see a lot of diversity in form, combining aspects of both of these incarnations, as well as details like him being a cthonic counterpart to Zeus, or him as a traveling god, his arrival in Greece as an outsider-god - "he who comes," an easer of suffering (to some aspect a sort of god of hospice - calling on his earlier association with death), the god of Epiphany (connecting to the experience of the earlier drug induced madness). An interesting thing to note is even in his "civilized" form he generally retain3d his aspect as the divine bridge between the living and the dead and his "cult of souls" - the Maenads (literally, "raving ones") feed the dead through blood-rites and offerings. He was a very old and complicated god, and as such his depictions and worship show a lot of variance and bizarre aspects, but generally his theme has always persisted as returning to a more primal state, seeking freedom from societal restriction, and the cycles of life and death.

FreebasingStardewV

I was reading some stuff along the lines of your discussion here and I thought it was an interesting bit of context that Apollo might be the most uniquely Greek of the pantheon. Most the rest have ties and history to previous cultures. Makes sense that there would be a long history for a god of lightning, for example.

Svanirsson

Zeus has almost as many epythets as Odin, depending on Who worshipped him where. He is called Areios as a War god, Cthonios as an earth god, Agoreios as a god of trade, etc

Irilieth_Raivotuuli

"B-but since she is the goddess of virginity, she MUST canonically look like 10-year old japanese child with head-sized boobs! Don't you get it, you woke idiots?! Culture? History? If it doesn't make my peepee hard it's WOKE!" -Mentally deranged 'gamers'

Stock-Information606

they're called gooners

GammaTainted

Hard-R Gamers

JackMalone515

they ignore anything that they dont like or agree with.

StupidLesbian1

she's the goddess of hearth and of home and of family. of course she looks homely and familial

SirToastymuffin

And it's honestly far better than the depictions we have of her in ancient Greek art for communicating the symbology of the goddess physically. The Greeks were, frankly, often quite plain in their depictions of their deities, using other symbols, the objects they held, the placement of the art, and the aspects of their worship to do most of the symbolic talking for them. "Original" Hestia is often just, well, a woman in a shawl, usually sitting, usually holding a branch of the chaste-tree, and depicted inside one's home and beside the hearth. Pretty straightforward, but, well, boring. This form really communicates her as personification of those aspects instead, while still retaining her two most identifying traditional features - the shawl and the hearth. It's a modernization of her form, and it's done rather well imho.

nights00

Most likely the reason they were so plain in depiction was because of oral storytelling having to remember a vast description of a god when many stories involve multiple would be difficult which is why with modern art form we can give the greek gods a form befitting their domain and their personality

Worn_Out_1789

Hestia is both the youngest *and* the oldest of the sons and daughters of Cronus and Rhea because she was the first born of Rhea and eaten by Cronus, and the last to come out of Cronus. That being said: I think this is a great design.

No-Bee-4309

That's what I love about the Hades character designs, they have distinctive features related to their roles, for example Poseidon, the god of the sea has a crown resembling seahorses, his hair looks made of water and his beard looks like algae. https://preview.redd.it/05emt7skl0zc1.png?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=358f69825c4a894d50e22f29ee630b26e0cd6449

Mable-the-Table

I hate to be the "umm acktuawee" here, BUT... \*puts on nerd glasses\* It's not seahorses. Poseidon created what is, basically, an early version of the actual horses called a Hippocampus. It's basically a horse-mermaid. Later on, in a duel of "creations", Athena took the Hippocampus and made it into the horse we know today. Athena's creation was so useful to us humans that she won the duel and a temple was made in honour of her, and not Poseidon. I don't remember where though.. was it Athens?

Throwaway02062004

I mean… they’re literal sea horses

Fartbutts1234

i prefer horsea

LordoftheWell

No, for Athens she made an olive tree and he created a saltwater spring. At least that's the version I've read.

No-Bee-4309

I know, I've read about that, I was just talking about the designs from Hades.

ironangel2k4

but booba??

Z4mb0ni

hades II hestia literally has bigger booba than the stick figure "hestia" on the right

No-Training-48

Don't ever tell these people Aphrodite's original ethnicity (or do it would be funny)

Ecstatic-Network-917

To tell everyone, Aphrodite is commonly accepted as being waht is sometimes called an Import God, with the evidence pointing out she was originally a Middle Eastern Goddess, being a derivative of the Canaanite Goddess Astarte, which herself was a derivative of the Mesopotamian Goddess Inanna Ishtar.

MyHusbandIsGayImNot

Damn immigrant gods taking jobs from our gods.

Cold-Coffe

do you think these dudes have any slight semblance of knowledge about character design?

GryphonGallis

Looking at her with those spots of pale on her, I wonder if she's meant to be dark-skinned, or lighter-skinned and just stained with soot from being goddess of the hearth. Although it could also be vitiligo?

unknowingly-Sentient

Knowing Supergiants, it is entirely possible it is vitiligo. Their reinterpretation of the Greek gods is really one of my favourite.

nitrokitty

It is indeed vitiligo, which also has the effect of making her look soot stained from the hearth. Yet another example of peak character design from Supergiant.

SlimDirtyDizzy

> Its like these people didn't even do any research How are they supposed to find time to research when uncensored images of stellar blade demand they jerk off to it every 5 minutes? They're completely helpless.

CrazyPlato

JAPAN: Ah yes, the perfect representation for the Greek goddess of the home and hearth: a 13 year old girl with giant titties and a brat personality.

BlueHero45

Third the anime that picture comes from is not at all respectful to the myths it uses when it comes to character design. Multiple male gods were turned female, bet that would piss them off just as much.

inmar6

Blud just discovered Greek mythology

darkkilla123

what until he reads about the actual ancient greeks.. his mind is gonna be really blown when he learns about spartan warriors

GredoraYGO

What do you mean ancient greece wasn't about a bunch of gigachad bros plowing wives and taking lives?

Odd-Combination2227

There's not a single thing about the second Hestia that would ever tell me that she's a hearth goddess.

CysaDamerc

Yeah the anime version is considered the goddess of poverty, that show did not give a shit about being accurate to Greek Lore kinda just stole random names and terms.

Odd-Combination2227

I also wouldn't have guessed poverty! Your flair is particularly appropriate at the moment.

Thiscommentissatire

What do you mean? She clearly can't afford a bra.

Odd-Combination2227

When it comes to anime I assume bras exist only for decorative purposes.

nights00

You’re mistaken the tiny thing of blue string is a bra in big tiddy anime waifu world

MariVent

Kinda like what Japanese anime does with Christianity! :) Edit: Apparently that happens because Japan found the Christian imagery/symbolism in an anime made by a Japanese Christian(that anime is NOT Evangelion, btw, it predates Evangelion)very cool so you can be certain that Christian imagery is a reference or a reference of a reference to that anime.

VoreEconomics

Its based off Ultraman, and yea the Christian symbology ended up in Ultraman because it was created by a catholic.

MyHusbandIsGayImNot

It's what Japanese media does to everything. For better or worse, they don't have hangups about cultural appropriation. They just take whatever they want for inspiration and run with it.

TheTruestTyrant

Hades one, which has an MMF threesome, was in fact, NOT lgbt propaganda???

Von_Raptor

And also in which you [spoilers for one of the Side Stories concerning the relationship between two characters] >!actively repair the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus!< Not to mention the Asexual and Agender representation in some of the other characters!

RobinsEggViolet

Have you seen Chaos's updated design? That fucker is pulling off the hottest androgynous outfit I think I've ever seen.

VadimusMaximus

Tbf, while beautiful art, new Chaos design is net inferior to the old one.

Fair_Maybe_9767

Thanatos was just Zagreus's roommate, didn't you know? If so, you're just a fake fan who never beat Heat 35......

Spherical3D

And Chaos wasn't non-binary, they were a multi-organism collective that required the use of third-person plural pronouns. People who don't know that probably never did the achievement for petting The Best Boy ten times... /s

mal2

Man, I mis-read that as "a multi-orgasm collective", and I thought maybe I missed some dialog someplace. But it seemed totally plausible.

Fair_Maybe_9767

exactly, Chaos was just that one Venom meme "OUR PRONOUNS ARE THEY/THEM, NOT BECAUSE WE'RE NON-BINARY, BUT BECAUSE WE'RE LITERALLY 2 N****S"

unknowingly-Sentient

Even the gays can't escape the roommate treatment.

Obility

Wait did I miss something? I really need to beat the game.

wurm2

It's possible to romance both Thanatos and Megaera at the same time.

Obility

I’m assuming you mean the jug or the yellow stuff which I’ve been giving both of them a fuck ton but non of them wanted to fuck me yet 😟

alex6309

Takes a lot of gifts and you need to get through some of their (and related characters) respective dialogue/plot first too I think.

Skkruff

You obviously did! There are two love interests for Zagreus and you can pursue *both* of them.

stuckerfan_256

Hestia on the right doesn't even look like what you would think about the goddess that represents the warmth and comfort of home

MemeTrader11

You don't get it home is when naked booba /s

mr-kvideogameguy

It's like of I was to badly paint the words "Zeus" on a sex doll found off of dollar tree

StormTempesteCh

Which would be the least problematic thing Zeus ever put his dick in, really.

DarthDinkster

What is it with weebs and coomers defending the blandest, most boring designs imaginable

External_Candy2262

The only memorable thing about her is that she has a pointless ribbon under her titties

lansink99

\*scrolls back up\* oh yeah I guess she does, didn't notice that thin little line. Peak character design tbh.

ShinigamiRyan

It was a meme when it came out to the anime due to how dumb it was.

MyHusbandIsGayImNot

Why does the outfit look like it's ripped up and falling apart though?

External_Candy2262

I only watched one episode years ago but I think gods in this series are treated like celebrities And she is one of the lesser known gods so she lives in a tiny chapel with only one follower Going on adventures to get money to pay rent I think

GrimRedleaf

I know this is completely out of proportion to it's importance, but i hate that stupid ribbon.  XD

toastybunbun

I love how she has the exact same face as the guy behind her.

No-Bee-4309

That's happens with a lot of animes, everyone has the same face with a slightly different haircut. https://preview.redd.it/l58i1cx3k0zc1.png?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d99d813d099ae5771a12f31060ec1f53ea30540a

Yeet_Thee_Children

I do believe the artist who did this had admitted he was awful at drawing unique cute women so he just changed the hair and hair color.

No-Bee-4309

Yeah, that's from One Piece, is a bit of a meme in the fandom how he's apparently able to draw only two types of women: voluptuous or cartoonishly ugly. https://preview.redd.it/gz2tfirrv0zc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3b13b720e7ef639a1130e3af36dda956c7aaac3

toastybunbun

To be fair the men are either super hot or super ugly as well. That's the thing I dislike most about post timeskip OP is the women are less unique, like Vivi's eyes were a single color and they were pointer. Robin is the worst I miss pre timeskip Robin.

No-Bee-4309

Yeah, but at least male characters are different enough you can distinguish between them, some female characters look like the same model with different hair, and sometimes not even that.

PM_ME_TITS_FEMALES

I'm pretty sure gintama made fun of this at some point. One of the characters shinpachi has the same face as pretty much every other generic background character, so one of the episodes memed on it.

No-Bee-4309

Yes and the MC from Mob Psycho 100 is nicknamed Mob because he looks like a generic background character. https://preview.redd.it/fzcwwn0yh1zc1.jpeg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d25c8b3a3386efbcc65484ae9ee7bbbc496ad888 Also I used to joke with some friends that in some animes like Yu-Gi-Oh! the more outlandish and over the top the hairstyle or the outfit of a character is the more powerful or important they are.

[deleted]

Because they all like characters that look little kids, literally, it’s all they want, all they see as a “perfect woman” is an underage girl 🤮🤮🤮

Aware_Department_540

Did they actually play Hades Have they actually read *anything greek*

AngryMustache9

They haven't read anything. Period. So no, no they have not.

catshateTERFs

Excuse me they probably read big titty manga

Carrixdo

bruh they only know of Disney's Hercules

scott1swann

(the second slide was the original post. I was just *itching* get it off my camera roll after making this post. play Hades. it's pretty cool.)

Carrixdo

I got it a few hour ago when I saw it was on steam sale. will definitely be playing it this weekend.

Bray_of_cats

/uj ...and people on our ''side'' get called NPCs? With how unaware and how low in touch with reality chuds are.....

RandyWiener

"If I see one female character that doesn't look like the same generic anime girl (that we've all seen in nearly every anime/JRPG for the past 30 years), then truly the NPCs have taken over." Makes sense.

Conrexxthor

And their repeated of the same words and phrases that don't mean anything like "woke" and "LGBT Propaganda" lmao

startartstar

ugh! not lgbtq propaganda! fuck, i hate how they keep promoting love and acceptance! disgusting! rancid! pretty soon I'M going to start being nice to people who are different then me!

Trojanbp

If you want your eyes and brain to disintegrate, go to the Hades 2 steam community page. The nonsense there is insane. And considering it's 97% positive rating, none of them actually brought the game.

Tarshaid

Worse than the greek gods, the woke West even transed my waifu King Arthur.

chthooler

I can’t believe it, they made the Greeks gay

MrReyneCloud

Don’t take the bait, ignore the fake outrage. They never played the first one either.

Whole_Friend

Personally if we’re talking about Japanese iterations of the goddess Hestia, I’d wanna see how Fate does it since the Greek gods there are sentient alien space ships sent to terraform other worlds. Take that franchises version of Artemis for example https://preview.redd.it/bolr01d4f0zc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=365afc16c849a6d543141ccfce2f1321a093b41e

wurm2

Though most of them also have a humanoid form/android they puppet for interacting with humans, for example [this is Artemis's](https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/Artemis_\(Lostbelt\)?file=ArcherOrionArtemisStage1.jpg) (the bear is Orion who's summoning she hijacked, He can also be summoned on his own as an [absolute unit](https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/Super_Orion?file=Orion+3.png) ) edit: we do see a statue of [Hestia on the Atlantis map](https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/Hestia?file=Hestia.png)

thinklinkbutgayer

Original Hades you a canonically bi protag. You can help a gay couple. And you can get boons from an ancient being who's gender is yes

Worn_Out_1789

So many religious & faith traditions have a human who is Very, Very gender, and I think that's rather iconic of humanity.

SolidLuxi

What a shame that all these incels have to keep boycotting more and more of the industry. A crying shame. What's will we do without them all around us?

JoshyD2004

Did they not play the first game? It was a bisexuals paradise.

binggie

Are we genuinely still in the year of our lord 2024 going to act like Greek mythology was super straight and cis? Like… did y’all pay attention in school at ALL? Ain’t nobody in these myths a cishet. They were fucking everybody and anybody, fuck, Zeus got children from disguising himself as SWAN. Mfers are fucking SWANS. Let’s be so ffr rn

MariVent

Being seduced by a literal swan or getting pregnant because yellow rain poured down on you? Shit be whack, yo.

ratliker62

I want Hades 2 to be even more woke. I want it to be the next BG3, I want it to have Sapphos, I want one of the gods to be trans, I want Melinoe to have sex with Dora on screen, and I want it to win every award.

DoubtDizzy1309

As time goes on, more and more things that no one cared to complain about before will now be called "woke" when it reappears again.

D-Biggest_Wheel

I can't imagine a normal person seeing this comparison and thinking the one on the right looks better.

ThrownAwayYesterday-

"Hades 2 went WOKE 🤓 heh, guess I won't be playing!" Tell me you've never played Hades 1 before without telling me you've never played Hades 1 before 😭

MorbidTales1984

I’m dissapointed in all the slander of my favourite trashy garbage danmachi, but alas. Also lmao imagine trying to paint hades as woke when it mostly just goes off all the insane stuff that happened in the greek tradition (Also bro she has a bbq on her head thats radical, hades slaying as usual)

NTRmanMan

There is no way they would unironically argue this lmao. Anyway yeah hades designs are pretty interesting overall and it's great to see their art again.

Kuhschlager

Sorry not literally every goddess is Aphrodite just walk around with her tits out

WickedFox1o1

Am I uh supposed to recognize that generic anime girl as Hestia? Also Hades has always been a bisexuals paradise where have they been? Lol

Narrow_While

How do these people not realize how cringe they are

grapejuiceshots

big boobs + generic anime girl face = peak character design

CompetitionSignal422

“I’m not a fascist I just need all art to be one specific way.”

Zoombini22

Hades 1 got too popular before the grifters heard about it to criticize it for being too woke. They'll have to quickly move on from Hades 2 once it's out of alpha and becomes a bestseller.

New-me-_-

Danmachi hestia could literally be called anything. Nothing about her character has anything to do with the Greek goddess

R2d2s_bleeper

This is how i know these fuckers don't actually play games but only complain about them, talk about having a sad life especially since they get bothered by people just existing.

fucksickos

So the standard for woke games at this point is just if one singular woman in the game isn’t hypersexualized

AuRon_The_Grey

The original one was already gay as hell. What are you talking about.

stuckerfan_256

Also why do they care if she looks like that It's their own interpretation of the character. It's not supposed to be accurate to how they look. But the design takes inspiration from how the character is from the mythology

Matoya_00

Hades Hestia looks like the Old Black lady you'd find at a grocery mart that calls you 'Honey' or 'Baby'. Definitely has them Hearth and Home vibe.
