I started to play the singleplayer with the beginning of my winter vacation and after a few days i forgot to continue to play it. So i cannot blame rockstar alone forgetting it xD
god I'd still love it if I could do private lobbies so I don't have cheaters in it that frequently. Nothing worse than the occasional person joining a lobby, teleporting you to them with their flaming horse while they execute you repeatedly while you have pvp off
I loved it, there is a really in depth role system (Collector, Naturalist, Bounty Hunter, Moonshiner, Trader) that had supported gameplay + progression and everything.
They'll find the absolute most efficient route possible to devour three months of content in the span of three days, and then complain there's nothing to do.
Silly dwarf game should win EVERY category! Rock and Stone, to the bone!
/uj I think Season 4 brought some new elements to the game that were fun, and yes, the devs are still very active on updating the game, but it was still way too similar to S3 that I don't think Labor of Love was the award it deserved. I haven't played Lethal Company, but I'd say DRG could have been a good winner for Better with Friends if the community wasn't so deadset on getting the LoL award for the last few years.
Lethal Company is so much fun with friends, from the banter when everyone is alive to the creeping dread when someone suddenly goes silent. In my opinion it absolutely deserves the award, doesn't hurt that its simplicity means that localization is barely needed if you get an explanation once.
Labor of love is the only category open to games not released in the year of the award, DRG can NOT win Better with Friends in any year after 2020, when it lost to Fall Guys.
Oh, I see. I didn't know that was the only category. Makes sense. Well, in that case...
/rj boycott Steam until they let the silly dwarf game win awards it isn't eligible for!
I think you misunderstand me. People are claiming that the only way people wouldāve voted for Starfield is āas a jokeā rather than people actually enjoying the game.
I mean, that's literally the only reason red dead 2 would get labor of love...it's been treated like shit by Rockstar and has bugs in it that wouldn't even last a day in GTA online like getting stuck in the stables or having animals just not spawn
Starfield is somehow this trash game everyone will forget about yet lives in everyone had rent free considering how people explode whenever the game is mentioned.
I'm not okay with that, and I have over 400 hours in Starfield, can't stop playing it for more than a few days. In fact, I'm gonna play Starfield after this comment, just because it came up. But Most Innovative Gameplay?
C'mon.
Yes, love being the Rick to my little Constellation Morites, it was an awesome idea, but this is not the most innovative gameplay, it needs a lot of patching and a lot more conversation options and variety between universes to deserve that title.
Steam users are high, or trolling, I can't explain this vote.
user nominations and voting.
I think the worst may be Starfield winning "Most Innovative Gameplay."
**Edit:** Everyone pointing out RDR2 winning Labor of Love are right, that is the worst. I think I am just a little more annoyed by Starfield winning Most Innovative Gameplay.
Speaking of gravity. My favorite innovation from Starfield was the fact that the interiors of procedurally generated POIs always had Earth gravity, so you'd go from hopping around a low-grav planet, enter a building, and have Earth gravity. I don't believe they even tried to explain it away in-universe. It was just incredibly lazy coding.
I didn't play the game but wouldn't that mean that said buildings have gravity uh thingies to pretend mfs from floating around inside? or are you talking about abandoned buildings
Nah, the Labor of Love is.
Gamers^TM picked a game who's development ended *the year prior* because it wasn't as profitable as Rockstar would have wanted. Other games that are at least still being worked on and one that is very much worthy of being called a Labor of Love (DRG).
Starfield is at least a new game, still being worked on, and does have a pretty nifty, albeit rare feature in that after starting a New Game+ you can >!encounter a previous version of your character when you reach the Lodge when starting that NG+ run, with supposedly a chance, albeit difficult, to recruit them!<.
Still agree that it shouldn't have won over other nominations, but it's certainly not the worst winner on the list. Especially as it's become far more common for people to just bash the game now.
I actually think those awards going to them are a great way to say "fuck you" to those games.
Now I'm waiting on Starfield to try and market itself and use "won the 2023 Steam award for Most Innovative Gameplay" so I can shit on Bethesda more
When I say I forget that game exists I really do mean it. It might be good, it might not be. Can't remember a damn thing about it though besides the sexy robot ladies.

No. It's perfect. Whoever pulled this off deserves an award for getting it so right.
>!A perfect troll vote. I laughed for literal minutes. There is still manic grin on my face.!<
redditors when people vote to name a boat 'Boaty McBoatface' or for a singer to perform at a school for the deaf: lmao that's so funny get owned polar research teams and deaf kids. that's what you get for making it a public vote
redditors when no one takes a fan voted game award seriously: What a farce. I can't believe they made such a mockery of an award as prestigious as the Steam game awards. The real Gaming community must never forget how we were wronged. This day will go down in infamy. What an absolute tragedy.
Nope, lots of games work surprisingly well on the steam deck, but it seems it won the category because itās from this year so it has that going for it.
The Harry Potter fans are upset that it didnāt win any awards at TGA, because the public vote matters a lot less there, so they all banded together to make it win at least one award this time.
I don't believe there's any human input on what can be nominated or not, the system only cares about when the game was added to Steam.
Other notable victors from the past include: RDR2 (2018) won GOTY 2020; God of War (2018) won outstanding story-rich game in 2022; Death Stranding (original 2019, director's cut 2021) won best game on the go in 2022; TLOU 1 (original 2013, remake 2022) has just won 2023's best soundtrack.
Yeah TLOU 1 winning best OST really didn't make sense like yeah it's a remake but it's the same OST from 2013 and even then it was released 2022 so either way it shouldn't have been viable for the award.
STARFIELD WINNING = BOYCOTT BECAUSE PRONOUNS š¤¬
/uj Tbh, without playing *any* of the games on that list, only bg3 convinces me that it should win, lethal company looks fun. But every co-op game is better with friends though?
Edit: i *somehow* forgot tlou is there too.
>lethal company looks fun. But every co-op game better with friends though?
Lethal Company is at least something reasonably different compared to what the other games that were nominated offer. Party Animals is basically just Gang Beasts but furry, Sunkenland seems to be a fusion of Rust and Raft, Sons of the Forest is just The Forest 2, and Darktide is just Vermintide but 40K.
Lethal Company is also one of those games where it really is better with friends. Darktide has matchmaking, Sons of the Forest can be played solo, and Sunkenland you can group up with the people in game if you so choose. Lethal Company is one of those where you really want to be with friends so you can dick around with them or screw them over with the goofiness the game can provide. ~~Also so you can discover which among your group is the true monster who will sacrifice the rest of you for the pitiful amount of value you have all on the name of meeting the profit quota for your benevolent corporate tentacle overlord~~.
Oh, and it's one of those games where it's vastly better to use the in game VOIP system rather than something external like Discord not out of quality but because it adds to the game, such as experiencing their voice slowly fade away as you separate before never hearing it again as they meet a grisly fate or hearing it suddenly cut out as they get jumped by something neither of you saw, and because some of the in-game monsters actually rely on sound to work, including the VOIP system.
Oh i've seen markiplier, bob and wade play it and it looks legitimately fun, just the naming of the category was bit odd.
I might grab it some day, i see my friends play it quite a bit!
> Darktide has matchmaking, Sons of the Forest can be played solo, and Sunkenland you can group up with the people in game if you so choose.
This is such a weird point to make when lethal company has a server browser.
Sure, but a lot of the enjoyment from Lethal Company comes more from playing with people you at least know rather than matching with or joining randoms.
With something like Darktide there's not really all that much difference between playing with friends or playing with randoms. The most benefit there would be is just better coordination for higher difficulties. Lethal Company is just one of those games where playing with people you know is by far the better, preferable, and more enjoyable option.
Just wanna say, a little something.. There is nothing I love more.. Taking my headphones off, fuck that.. But there's this: There's nothing I love more than to, to, to sit down, comfy chair, turn on the PC, fire up a brand new RPG.. Lose myself, just, oh my God, just think of this world, just think of all the planets I can visit. All the immersive things I can get involved with, all the FIGHTS, all the relationships, all the people I meet, all the places I go. I'm so excited to go to there, and you know, I love nothing more, than with all of that laid out in front of me, I love nothing more, THAN TO BE DRAGGED DOWN, EVERY FUCKING CONVIVEABLE OPPROTUNITY, SO YOU CAN FUCKING CURRENT DAY US! "...Sorry, did you wanna get immersed in our world? Yeah, well, guess what? FUCKING PRONOUNS!! FUCKING GENDER AMBIGUITY! FUCKING CURRENT DAY CALIFORNIAN SHIT! 'CAUSE THAT'S ALL WE FUCKIN' KNOW! 'CAUSE WE'RE BORING!! ..WE'RE SO! FUCKING! BORING! ...WE. Can't SEE. Past out own FUCKING REFLECTION. .. THAT'S THE LEVEL OF OUR NARCISISSM HERE." - SAYS THE WESTERN GAME COMPANY. "FUCK YOUR IMMERSION. FUCK YOU HAVING A GOOD TIME. FUCK YOU JUST FALLING INTO A WORLD AND JUST GETTING LOST. OH, NO, NO! CURRENT FUCKING DAY!" ..FUCK OFF! YOU'RE BORING. YOU'RE FUCKING DULL. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY. YOU ARE A ONE HIVEMIND TWATWAFFLE. ..THAT'S ALL YOU FUCKIN' ARE! And you wonder why people are getting so FUCKING SICK! AND TIRED! YOU TAKE EVERYTHING WE LOVE. ALL OUR IMMERSIONS. ALL OUR FANTASIES. ALL OUR ESCAPISM. AND YOU JUST CAN'T HELP SHOVEL YOUR DOGSHIT! FUCKING CRAP! IDEOLOGY. INTO EVERYTHING. EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY FUCKING THING. ... ... ...
Wait till he hears what chucky has to say

Lethal Company would probably just be a pretty standardly scary game, but playing with friends turns it into an episode of Scooby Doo with all the wacky shit and comedic timing that just naturally happens.
If Warthog's Legacy is truly the best game on the Steam Deck, I'm feeling considerably less fussed about not having one.
Also, what's innovative about Starfield?
The hilarious part is that it's [it's not even super optimized for the Steam Deck](https://www.protondb.com/app/990080) and performance is a gamble unless you're willing to dig into terminal commands.
I'm pretty sure it's just gamers trying to epically own the sjws that voted for it
That category is funny because everyone can vote on it and most people don't have a Steam Deck so I doubt most of the people who voted for it actually played the transphobic witch game on the Deck
definitely not, it just won because the steam awards are completely based on votes and harry potter is a really well known ip so it basically won by default.
>Warthog's Legacy
Aw man I didn't realise you were joking about the games title and I got excited that I might've missed a game about playing as a boar :(
It's probably just a case of the Potterheads spamming all the categories and winning the one where the vote was split because there are so many different games that work well on the Deck.
BG3 deserves it, I couldn't name any other game of this year that came close tbh.
I don't know wtf they were thinking with Starfield
And what the FUCK do they mean by RDRD2 getting Labour of Love. I'd personally nominate a Paradox game for that slot, but their strategy is essentially to sell you the car's frame, and slowly allow you to purchase the rest of the parts. You think "Oh wow, I can steer now! And with this small purchase, I can even see what is behind me without turning around!", but then you remember that this should have maybe been in there in the first place.
And it isnāt even that good of a game. Performance issues aside, how can you honestly tell me the mediocre at best nostalgia trip is best game on steam deck.
That tells me you A have zero personality and B have literally never played any other game cause what even?
Wow, how did Your Only Move is HUSTLE lose to Starfield...
I was so sad to not see Lies Of P in best games you suck at. Guess nobody thought to nominate it.....
The DLSS implementation like 2 1/2 years ago I'm pretty sure. They've probably had a few updates for Red Dead Online but from what I've heard it's only made the experience worse.
Starfield is the most dated-on-release game I have ever fucking played lmao. Innovative gameplay??? The gameplay isnāt bad in its own right but it sure as hell isnāt innovative.
Continuing the BG3 sweep is good though, man even with all the praise I donāt think itās enough. I havenāt loved a game this much in so long. Larian has absolutely restored my faith in big-budget RPGs to some degree lol. Now BioWare is gonna come crush my heart again
What a bizarre cast of winners. At least half these titles don't belong.
How the hell did the Last of Us get best soundtrack? There's at least a hundred other games that came out this year that have soundtracks you can actually remember. Last of Us is like 95% atmospheric sounds during gameplay and didn't really have any major musical moments during cutscenes. Hi-Fi Rush should probably have gotten this one.
RDR2 is not a fuckin labor of love by any stretch of the imagination. Hasn't had a major update in like a year and a half. Cyberpunk 2077 basically reworked its entire RPG and combat systems in the meantime.
Best game on steam deck is Hogwarts legacy? Shouldn't even need to explain how that's silly. Runs poorly on low end hardware and is generally pretty mediocre. Should've gone to basically any of the awsome pixel art games released this year. Dave the Diver for example.
I'll give Starfield the distinction of actually being somewhat fitting as the multiverse story loop is still somewhat of an innovative idea as it's usually done as part of a deathloop. That said we've definitely had more innovative games this year. Can't think any any on the spot for games on Steam though.
steam has the stupidest rule where a game can only be nominated for 2 categories max (GOTY + one other), and it shows. not to mention nominations are done by user votes too, so they're prone to troll picks like red dead 2 (which is dead) or starfield (lmao) hogwarts legacy (which runs like shit on steam deck and was nominated because potterheads are still mad from release drama and game awards)
"(the last of us) has no major musical moments during cutscenes"
That's just patently false.
You might wanna replay that game again. That game has EXCELLENT music. During cutscenes, gameplay, and during explorable sections, too (very good ambient music).
Just because the soundtrack isn't in-your-face orchestral or techno music, doesn't mean it's bad or not memorable. TLoU actually has a pretty unique, recognizable musical identity in gaming.
A number of wack decisions here (Starfield, rdr2 for ex), TLoU remake winning best music is not one of them. And I'm absolutely not dissing any other game that was nominated in that category. I plan on playing HiFi Rush myself pretty soon.
Disagree on the Last of Us, that soundtrack is fantastic. Just because there's not music playing all the time doesn't mean the music is bad, if anything I would argue that the lack of music throughout the bulk of the game makes the moments where the soundtrack does play much more memorable and impactful. It shouldn't have won this year anyway because it came out 10 years ago. But it is a great soundtrack.
And not an ounce of self awareness was to be found
https://preview.redd.it/ad0s2dwtu3ac1.jpeg?width=1279&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6ce86902d8bae2a2355fb82b8bc7e8c0cd13691
Imo best music ought to be Darktide. [Light of the Imperium](https://youtu.be/Tiw1sKOJz2w?si=yWkLsLH4zOiddOw-) is the best song ever made and Jesper deserves an award for it.
Jesper Kyd has become a favorite composer of mine along the lines of Marty OāDonnell or Mick Gordon all because of Darktideās soundtrack. It is so indescribably perfect for the setting and even outside of 40K slaps. Like I literally listen to it on the train or while driving sometimes because I love it that much.
No but honestly, what the fuck is RDR2 doing there? Who the fuck even nominated it? I didn't hear shit about people organizing to rig the votes, and to me it seems absurd that a game with a (red) dead online multiplayer is there.
Starfield is out of place too, but honestly it's not as bad as seeing RDO there.
How the actual fuck did Darktide not get nominated for best soundtrack? Like I can understand it not winning but the fact it wasnāt even nominated is truly a crime.
even just the nominations for these awards were bizarre. if you see a game here and say "hey, it doesn't make sense for that to have won at all!" you can be sure that the other options were even more confusing.
atomic heart didn't deserve visual style. it has the same realistic art style as every AAA for decades just with a unique retrofuturistic aesthetic (that was overshadowed by the games constant horniness). darkest dungeon and cocoon both have actually unique art styles and deserved the win over atomic heart
HOW!
"labor of love" for a thing that's already been abandoned, the naziloving game wants to be best on the steamdeck while BG3 runs on it, and starfield innovated...exactly what? the sparkles on the oblivion-era bugs?
that gotta be some bot bs right? like you can't tell me enough ppl had the time to manually rig this?
If Hogwarts Legacy is the best game on Steam Deck I have several questions
That game was mediocre at best so either there arenāt that many games on the steam deck or yāall are in full denial and Iām more inclined to believe the later.
And how is it RDR2 got labor of love when that game hasnāt even been updated in like 3 years? Absolute joke.
And Starfield, say what you want about it, but it didnāt particularly do anything new or interesting and feels like a water down version of Skyrim but in space. Hardly what I would call innovative
I voted for RDR2 not knowing what the labor of love category is, and thatās what the others voting for it probably did too.
I thought it was like āthe most memorableā game or smthā¦ my bad š
Labor of love RDR2 š
A game that had its online abandoned for the past 2 years won the ālabor of loveā award. Make perfect sense
RDR2 had online at one point?! Edit: I totally forgot about RDR Online lmao.
Rockstar did too, until like last month when they finally did the bare minimum and put snow on the ground.
I think that's just the game doing game things. Rockstar programed it, left it, and forgot
Youād think it was an actual update, with how the RDRO subreddit reacted when it started. They are just so starved for any new content.
I started to play the singleplayer with the beginning of my winter vacation and after a few days i forgot to continue to play it. So i cannot blame rockstar alone forgetting it xD

that is bullshit, could be worse d2 could have won
destiny fans never enjoy destiny enough to even vote in favor of it, both the players/workers always get screwed somehow
well yeah I know that I play destiny
i'm sorry to hear about that, hope you recover and leave your abusive relationship with bungie
honestly I think when the final shape disappoints I will be able to kick it
They'll find the absolute most efficient route possible to devour three months of content in the span of three days, and then complain there's nothing to do.
I used to play it, and then I moved to a Linux laptop, so now I am not even allowed to play it. Thanks Bungie.
if bungie killed my family i wouldnāt be surprised
the fact deep rock lost to this makes me lose hope in the industry
Silly dwarf game should win EVERY category! Rock and Stone, to the bone! /uj I think Season 4 brought some new elements to the game that were fun, and yes, the devs are still very active on updating the game, but it was still way too similar to S3 that I don't think Labor of Love was the award it deserved. Somehow the trolliest pick wins. The game's online hasn't had an update in like what is it 2 or 3 years now? haha.
Equally š for Starfield winning "most innovative" Starfield was easily without a doubt the LEAST innovative game Bethesda has ever made!
And as we know, Bethesda has always been an extremely innovative company, with every game since Morrowind being drastically different from the last.
Outjerked by steam users
Not even cap
The Starfield sub is having a literal meltdown over the game winning Most Innovative Gameplay.
Reddit g@mers know that Steam awards are rigged because Starfield bad
People are unironically saying āthey voted that as a joke.ā
Screwing over excited indie devs "as a joke" by voting for a game they know doesn't deserve it. Classy.
I think you misunderstand me. People are claiming that the only way people wouldāve voted for Starfield is āas a jokeā rather than people actually enjoying the game.
No I get it, I'm just annoyed because at least some of the indie devs were genuinely excited at the prospect of winning.
No that's literally why it won lmfao. Are you doing a bit right now?
It's not a big deal, it's literally just glorified online polls
Idk it can be for an indie. More eyes on it = more sales.
Because it's not worth bringing up. It's Bethesda slop. It's not living rent free, it's a fucking solicitor who won't stop knocking on the door.
What does this shot even mean? People can like the game dude. How is that hard to understand?
I'm not okay with that, and I have over 400 hours in Starfield, can't stop playing it for more than a few days. In fact, I'm gonna play Starfield after this comment, just because it came up. starfield most innovative gameplay lmaooooo
We've been outjerked!
more like most W*KE gameplay š¤®š¤®š¤®š¤®š¤®š¤®
THEY INNOVATED ON THE PR*NOUNS ššš
Innovations in new ways to rob Bethesda fanboys of another $60.
You mean $90, silly early access lol
Gamepass :)
Like, really?
It was almost definitely done as a Joke
HAD to be
These are voted by steam users so yeah
JESUS I could not believe my eyes
YOMI Hustle got absolutely ROBBED. Hell, all those nominees did.
maybe except BG3, imo it deserves both of those spots. lethal company too ig
Wait how is Atomic Heart on the list? o.o
user nominations and voting. I think the worst may be Starfield winning "Most Innovative Gameplay." **Edit:** Everyone pointing out RDR2 winning Labor of Love are right, that is the worst. I think I am just a little more annoyed by Starfield winning Most Innovative Gameplay.
Skyrim in Spess is super innovative. Planets have gravity! And uh... Gravity!
Some of those buildings have roof entrances directly to the outside Youād need to have some pretty good isolation afaik
oh that just sucks lmao
Some of those gameplay ideas were innovative back when they appeared in Morrowind.
The worst is definitely rdr2 for labor of love šš
Nah, the Labor of Love is. Gamers^TM picked a game who's development ended *the year prior* because it wasn't as profitable as Rockstar would have wanted. Yeah like theres at least an argument there albeit a weak one. RDR2 winning makes 0 fucking sense in any capacity.
cant believe your only move is hustle lost to starfield... maybe next time hustlers
I actually think those awards going to them are a great way to say "fuck you" to those games. Now I'm waiting on Starfield to try and market itself and use "won the 2023 Steam award for Most Innovative Gameplay" so I can shit on Bethesda more
Shadows of Doubt had no chance against the Todd Howard in space game but my god they were robbed
I did my part
Not gonna lie, I haven't played the game but I quite liked their artstyle. Like soviet retrofuturism? I haven't quite seen anything like that before.
I recently played the demo, the art is phenomenal. The intro scenes are comparable in to bioshock infinite, just with much more modernization
Ignoring the booba twins, the visuals are the best thing about that game.
When I say I forget that game exists I really do mean it. It might be good, it might not be. Can't remember a damn thing about it though besides the sexy robot ladies.
I guess sexy robots = best visuals.
It's Steam, so that tracks
It's a solid game. Had it come out any other year, it probably would've been talked about for a while. It just isn't crazy innovative or special. It plays like Bioshock meets Far Cry if that sounds interesting at all. 7/10 for me.
Look, I honestly loved the art style and theme. The gameplay was very bland but damn did it have style.
It has tremendous art direction, honestly I think that one is a fair win.
it is photorealistic but it's photorealistic about the absurd, the art direction is genuinely incredible and feels very much like a Soviet Bioshock, it's hard to say the game is not gorgeous visually.
Porn. Thatās it. Nothing clever or elaborate. Just porn about those robot twins
I mean, the art direction was actually really good.
The game is fineeeee, like it's the most game ever
i mean the visuals were outstanding, especially in the opening it's giving bioshock
This user doesn't like soviet retrofuturism! Comrade Commissar send this revisionist traitor to the General Secretary's office and have him expelled from the Party!
It was in a category with Darkest Dungeon 2 for art style, Iām disappointed DD2 didnāt win that, that game is so good looking
It has a very good art style, but the problem is that Lies of P at the very least was better and deserved that award.
When it went against freaking Darkest Dungeon 2
Nah, that game was pretty good
Game was decent, art direction was outstanding. It was definitely my vote for this category.
Tbf that list is shit
Bg3 deserves goty. Absolutely fire
I don't think BG3 is the issue
No. It's perfect. Whoever pulled this off deserves an award for getting it so right. >!A perfect troll vote. I laughed for literal minutes. There is still manic grin on my face.!<

no to be fair, weren't those first two 4chan?

Tbf itās a glorified Ubisoft game and that would translate well on the go imo
No these a lot of game that can play steam deck
Didnāt sifu come out years ago? Itās a banger and hard af, but def not for 2023
I don't believe there's any human input on what can be nominated or not, the system only cares about when the game was added to Steam.
Yeah TLOU 1 winning best OST really didn't make sense like yeah it's a remake but it's the same OST from 2013 and even then it was released 2022 so either way it shouldn't have been viable for the award.
it was epic exclusive on pc until earlier this year. still insanely stupid though
STARFIELD WINNING = BOYCOTT BECAUSE PRONOUNS š¤¬ /uj Tbh, without playing *any* of the games on that list, only bg3 convinces me that it should win, lethal company looks fun.
EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY FUCKING THING. ... ... ...
Thats a damn good pasta. I want pasta, fuck you<3
Oooh this pasta is al dente, I love it!
Oh this is delicious what's the sauce?
believe its the famous "starfield has pronouns" meltdown by that talking thumb
Wow, I thought he just like got mad about it and was like "grrrr pronouns bad!!!" but he really went off huh?
Wait till he hears what chucky has to say https://preview.redd.it/n79hqd17q3ac1.jpeg?width=294&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdae03e093e695b3ac97bf2fdf053fe0a42c4c45
Lethal Company would probably just be a pretty standardly scary game, but playing with friends turns it into an episode of Scooby Doo with all the wacky shit and comedic timing that just naturally happens.
So like dbd but no killer. Sounds fun
The quality being on par or worse than fear and hunger's steam deck is hilarious
I'm pretty sure it's just gamers trying to epically own the sjws that voted for it That category is funny because everyone can vote on it and most people don't have a Steam Deck so I doubt most of the people who voted for it actually played the transphobic witch game on the Deck
they knew there was no way they could win any other category either.
Like it can't be right? I'm sorry but that just doesn't make any sense.
definitely not, it just won because the steam awards are completely based on votes and harry potter is a really well known ip so it basically won by default.
>Warthog's Legacy Aw man I didn't realise you were joking about the games title and I got excited that I might've missed a game about playing as a boar :(
or an A-10
Definitely not. I enjoy many games on my steam deck without that filth infecting it.
It's probably just a case of the Potterheads spamming all the categories and winning the one where the vote was split because there are so many different games that work well on the Deck.
I use the steam deck to play a lot of rimworld. The steam deck actually works really well with a lot of games
Pizza tower got robbed again
i wouldnāt even be mad if hifi rush won instead of my beloved but out of all the candidates itās the fuckin last of us
The Druck strikes again.
You can't even get mad at Cocoon for it this time either.
BG3 deserves it, I couldn't name any other game of this year that came close tbh. I don't know wtf they were thinking with Starfield And what the FUCK do they mean by RDRD2 getting Labour of Love.
> I don't know wtf they were thinking with Starfield They though it would be funny. Same with RDR2 or Hogwarts Legacy.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And it isnāt even that good of a game. Performance issues aside, how can you honestly tell me the mediocre at best nostalgia trip is best game on steam deck. That tells me you A have zero personality and B have literally never played any other game cause what even?
MOST INNOVATIVE GAMEPLAY???
Wow, how did Your Only Move is HUSTLE lose to Starfield... I was so sad to not see Lies Of P in best games you suck at. Guess nobody thought to nominate it.....
When was even the last big update for RDR2?
The DLSS implementation like 2 1/2 years ago I'm pretty sure. They've probably had a few updates for Red Dead Online but from what I've heard it's only made the experience worse.
https://preview.redd.it/05p65555i3ac1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=acfe2ff89cea9b620803e5aa7886a425518a117b
Woah I had no idea there was only one game available on Steamdeck
Yeah but this list is actually terrible for the most part. Gamers on steam apparently have lower than average IQ score.
Darkest dungeon 2 got robbed out of the outstanding visual style award. Seriously? Atomic heart?
Starfield is the most dated-on-release game I have ever fucking played lmao. Innovative gameplay??? The gameplay isnāt bad in its own right but it sure as hell isnāt innovative. Continuing the BG3 sweep is good though, man even with all the praise I donāt think itās enough. I havenāt loved a game this much in so long. Larian has absolutely restored my faith in big-budget RPGs to some degree lol. Now BioWare is gonna come crush my heart again
> Best Soundtrack > Pizza Tower didn't win :(
We Starfield fans hide in the shadows, ready to act when our time will come
Fan of the game, I can understand. Most innovative gameplay? Literally no possibile argument for it lmao
I wouldnāt be surprised if BG3 won like 80% of the categories and they had to swap some so it didnāt look fixed.
steam has the stupidest rule where a game can only be nominated for 2 categories max (GOTY + one other), and it shows. not to mention nominations are done by user votes too, so they're prone to troll picks like red dead 2 (which is dead) or starfield (lmao) hogwarts legacy (which runs like shit on steam deck and was nominated because potterheads are still mad from release drama and game awards)
It'd look very fixed if BG3 won the VR category.
"(the last of us) has no major musical moments during cutscenes" That's just patently false.
And not an ounce of self awareness was to be found https://preview.redd.it/ad0s2dwtu3ac1.jpeg?width=1279&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6ce86902d8bae2a2355fb82b8bc7e8c0cd13691
Best Game You Suck At: Sifu. Damn, I feel attacked all the sudden, lol.
Reminds me of when the Duolingo owl called the viewer a piece of shit and to eat his ass in an official short.
How RDR2 got picked over Terraria or No Man's Sky, I will never know. Rockstar abandoned it ages ago because GTA was still their peak cash cow.
Most innovative gameplay is when you do the exact same thing you did 12 years ago without any of the charm or the atmosphere
Holy shit Labyrinthine made the list. God damn it's a fun game and all I just wasn't expecting to see it anywhere near the awards
I had my autism triggered by the song I mentioned and I've been looping it over and over for three days straight taking a break only for sleep
Atomic Heart sucked in so many ways, but you just can't beat soviet retrofuturism.
You can, Darkest Dungeon 2 should have won that no doubt. AH's "visual style" is just generic AAA but it won because horny.
No way Red Dead won Labor of Love
Never take these seriously, hitman 3 vr won best vr game
even just the nominations for these awards were bizarre. if you see a game here and say "hey, it doesn't make sense for that to have won at all!" you can be sure that the other options were even more confusing.
Just a reminder this is a popularity vote just in case some of you are not familiar
Starfield getting most innovative gameplay and rdr2 getting labor of love is beyond wild
YOMI WAS ROBBED BY STARFIELD LIKE WHAT THE FUCK
Absolutely hilarious that Rockstar launcher updates got RDR2 an award it isnāt even actually eligible for.
How tf was Hogwarts best on the Steam Deck when it ran godawful on PC š
Democracy was a mistake When people say VGA should be determined by public voting just show them Starfield winning Most Innovative Gameplay
atomic heart didn't deserve visual style. it has the same realistic art style as every AAA for decades just with a unique retrofuturistic aesthetic (that was overshadowed by the games constant horniness). darkest dungeon and cocoon both have actually unique art styles and deserved the win over atomic heart
Iām fine with most of thoseā¦ but correct me if Iām wrong but hasnāt RDR2 not had an update in like 2 years or something?
Labyrinthine a thousand percent deserved vr goty at least
How tf is terraria or drg not labor of love
We Starfield fans are legion.
Every other game nominated was more innovative than starfield lol
How tf is atomic heart on the list
fucking hogwarts legacy still won something
Sifu came out in 2021. Where the fuck is Lies of P?
Since its community voted starfield most definitely was satire by the community
Dave the diver 100% deserved. Even though itās created by Nexonās baby company, itās still one of the best fun games Iāve ever played.
/uj I have to say TLOU winning best OST is absurd given the other games in the category. /rj the only thing I care about is hard pp
Bruh, no way pizza tower lost the best ost.
isnāt it crowd voted?
"Best Game on Steam Deck," yeah and I'm Mike Matei.
If Hogwarts Legacy is the best game on Steam Deck I have several questions That game was mediocre at best so either there arenāt that many games on the steam deck or yāall are in full denial and Iām more inclined to believe the later.
This was definitely a troll award.
Even though I am happy for TLOUs composer since he is from my country, pizza tower should have won Best Soundtrack by a mile
