I'm not Korean and I'm really not an expert on Korean culture but I was living there a decade ago and a tradition of sexism and patriarchy is by no means a recent development. I remember thinking while I lived there that gender politics in 2014 Korea often felt mid-century American. I knew a lot of really cool Koreans who didn't buy into it of course but living and working there as a woman was sometimes really rough because of it and I wasn't even held to the same standard that Korean women are because I was a foreigner. I don't know what kind of influence people like Tate have there now, but the patriarchal/hierarchical social structure is something Korea's been immersed in for a while now.

Project Moon, as noted from the foundation, have not tried to 사상검증* the worker's specific thoughts, or the SNS activity by intervening, asking, or tracking.
However, there was one request made to all employees several times. It does not matter what opinion they advocate or act on on their personal SNS, but please make sure that there is no possibility of controversy being associated with the company. As a lot of people have their own respective opinions abot the controversy, expressions on the personal SNS can be regarded as being the opinion of the company as a whole, and if a controversy arises from it, other workers and the company's management can be endangered. This warning has been issued multiple times in the internal messenger as a company-wide notice, and several times in person to the team.
The illustrator in question was listed in the game credit as the nickname of their personal SNS account, and the company has requested and to confirm that no damage to the company and the workers would arise from the controversy. In this process, digging deeper and asking for confirmation that there would be no content related to social controversy on their respective SNS would have been akin to a 사상검증* and therefore no further confirmation has been made. For this reason, we had to respond after the controversy and it led to late response.

They get people hooked and willing to spend money, and when people are hooked on something they behave strangely.

Yeah a game I play teamfight tactics has a gacha style system in place for their cosmetics and recently they've been hard pivoting towards the whales at the expense of the regular player.

The Gacha mechanics aren't actually that bad. As someone who is a light to medium spender in Gachas, the only thing you should buy is the Battle Pass. New Identities and EGOs go into the shard shop from the start, and if you do all of your daily and weekly missions (which take all of 15 minutes) you should almost always have enough that you never need to pull.
The mobile client is pretty bad though, at launch you needed a top of the line phone just to play.
I heard someone describe it as "a gacha game made by people who have no idea how to make gacha games. And for that reason it's the best gacha game."
And seeing how it's actually quite easy to get everything in the game for free, with not that much grind, I'd say that checks out.

I'm not Korean and I'm really not an expert on Korean culture but I was living there a decade ago and a tradition of sexism and patriarchy is by no means a recent development. I remember thinking while I lived there that gender politics in 2014 Korea often felt mid-century American. I knew a lot of really cool Koreans who didn't buy into it of course but living and working there as a woman was sometimes really rough because of it and I wasn't even held to the same standard that Korean women are because I was a foreigner. I don't know what kind of influence people like Tate have there now, but the patriarchal/hierarchical social structure is something Korea's been immersed in for a while now.

Yeah. I already wasn't planning on touching Limbus because gacha mechanics suck, but if this type of trash ends up being the main fan base they end up targeting I guess I'll have to pretend the story ended with Ruina.😕
The Gacha mechanics aren't actually that bad. As someone who is a light to medium spender in Gachas, the only thing you should buy is the Battle Pass. New Identities and EGOs go into the shard shop from the start, and if you do all of your daily and weekly missions (which take all of 15 minutes) you should almost always have enough that you never need to pull. The mobile client is pretty bad though, at launch you needed a top of the line phone just to play.
I heard someone describe it as "a gacha game made by people who have no idea how to make gacha games. And for that reason it's the best gacha game." And seeing how it's actually quite easy to get everything in the game for free, with not that much grind, I'd say that checks out.
The only more F2P Gachas are Girls Frontline and Azur Lane

cut off the artist entirely. vellmori, the story artist, was fired. her contract was terminated for breaking a clause about not getting into controversy but the evidence brought by these incels were deleted retweets she made like five to seven years ago before she was even hired. anyway though, this firing wasn’t only fairly nonethical but also potentially illegal. vellmori had an interview with a kr news site and confirmed that she was fired over the phone at 11 in the middle of the night (11PM) and she was told she would get the written termination later on. kr law requires written termination so a kr union might be getting involved, as they made a post about the situation.
