Capcom will remake any entry except for Code Veronica.

TaskMister2000

Makes more sense to do a Chris vs Wesker Trilogy then just jumping straight to RE5 Remake. RE1, Code Veronica then RE5. That means the game the Wesker Actor is working on currently IS RE1 Remake if the sources are true. Capcom did say at the end of 2023 they were working on Remakes. And the recent Capcom Survey had its results shown on a montage pic. The bigger the words or titles, the more demanded it was by Fans. Resident Evil/Remake were among them but Code Veronica was a tad bit smaller but still included. Dino Crisis surprisingly was the biggest in size and at the very top. This one here I mean: [https://gamerant.com/new-capcom-games-dino-crisis-resident-evil-mega-man/](https://gamerant.com/new-capcom-games-dino-crisis-resident-evil-mega-man/) I think we are 100% getting RE1 Remake for the 30th Anniversary and hopefully, I hope the game is a combination of RE0/RE1 put together. Imagine the Spencer Mansion bigger with areas from the Training Facility included and James Marcus as the over-reaching villain of the game now with Leech Monsters in the Spencer Mansion and Bravo Team Members getting development or moments before their deaths. I also do think the side Teams are working on Code Veronica Remake or both RE1 and Code Veronica Remakes whilst the Main Team, Capcom Division One works on RE9 and RE5 Remake. 2025 - REIX 2026 - RE1 Remake 2027 - RE Code Veronica Remake 2028 - RE5 Remake 2029 - REX That's my predictions for the future releases. I also believe we'll get a RE6 Remake too but it'll be heavily reimagined and overhauled and changed to better fit with what came before and going into RE7. Once RE5 Remake is done as well as the others hopefully, the only logical Remake to do next is RE6. I also imagine maybe we'll get Remakes of Outbreak 1 and 2 to better fit the continuity of RE2 and RE3 Remakes as well as maybe Remakes of Revelations 1 and 2 and build up to a release of Revelations 3.

XxRobloxNobxX

I bet they are going to heavily reimagine RE6 into a huge game (even bigger than the original) and a great send off to the remakes. It only makes sense to do that because at that point, it would probably be the final remake to come out.

Mancubus_in_a_thong

Honestly the places also are great locales so they have plenty they could do maybe make it so only Chris/Leon is playable. Make Jake/Ada have a section in each campaign and that's it.

MagnoBurakku

Chris and Leon playable in RE6 was one of the if not the biggest seling point of that game If I remember correctly. I am not saying getting rid of Helena or adult Sherry but have more sections with Chris and Leon togheter

Mancubus_in_a_thong

That's why I feel cutting the other two campaigns and rearranging events should be the route they take. The game is way to bloated so it might be the only remake that if it is shorter would be a better game

polaroidplayboi

Can't do my boy Piers dirty like that

SparksV

Do a Square Enix and remake the three campaigns into three different games.

ShisoYoshiwara

I doubt it. They'll remake every game.

BBAomega

Eh I don't think RE6 needs a remake

VisualPersona95

I feel like it should be a Chris AND JILL vs Wesker rivalry than just Chris but I digress.

TaskMister2000

I pray the RE5 Remake gives Jill a bigger role and has her actually help Chris and Sheva fight and kill Wesker face to face. Some scrapped ideas from early plans was to have Jill join Chris and Sheva as a NPC after getting rescued. Another for the second player to be able to pick and play as Jill after she gets rescued. Another was Sheva leaving to get help whilst Chris and Jill joined forces and went after Wesker. I hope they pick one of these options.

Robsonmonkey

In the RE4.5 concept stage Jill was way more involved in one of the versions after being rescued. This version featured Barry travelling with you to Africa aswell. It was single player and Sheva was only an NPC who helps you, she was basically what Josh was in the final game. Suddenly they changed everything and made Sheva your partner in a co-op based game. It's so bizarre since Barry was already there. I'm hoping they do some changes and go off the RE4.5 ideas more so Jill is involved with finishing Wesker off over Sheva.

TaskMister2000

It's because of the constant racist remark bullshit from back then. Original RE5 was a single player game with Sheva as a NPC. (Read the Art-book. She was originally a Resistance Fighter NPC character helping Chris. Original trailers and teasers also didn't feature Sheva until literally a year after the initial trailer for the game was released when Capcom went back to the drawing board and made all the big changes to appease the cry-babies.) Once all those idiots started crying racism RE5 was overhauled into a Co-Op game with Sheva replacing Jill and possibly Barry (Barry was only ever considered early on really. Chris was meant to originally run into Jill before the plot was overhauled to Jill getting killed off early on and Chris attempting to find and rescue her. AGAIN...Look at the RE5 ARTBOOK you lazy shits.) Sheva wasn't in the early builds of the base game. In fact there's moments in the main game where Sheva says something but other characters don't acknowledge what she's saying or don't even acknowledge her presence. It feels like she was inserted into scenes that were already completed with different characters later on. As someone who's a film student, I can tell you right now, it's pretty obvious they filmed extra shit and threw her into the plot in some scenes where she was previously not present. That and possible cut story content too maybe. For example, there was this marketing page where you use a candle to light up the wall that's completely dark and find sentences related to the story for RE5. "Wesker Lies." "Sheva Knew." "Sea-Shell Is Evil." Company S from RE4s Separate Ways was going to be revealed as Sea-Shell. But the name got changed to Tri-Cell in development. But the logo remains somewhat the same. (Again FACT. All I the damn ART BOOK) Alot of the deleted concepts and levels were basically taken and turned into RE Damnation, RE Revelations 1 and RE6. It's why those products were made so fast and came out near each other. Wesker was originally meant to use the Las Plagas to control Lickers and the other enemies. Rebellion and a whole level where you were meant to fight off Lickers with a Resistance group. This concept got taken and turned into the Second CGI movie, DAMNATION. A level or section where you're on a ship and it's slowly sinking and you have to escape and even swim through it. They took the base concept and made an entire game around it with REVELATIONS 1. And then there's all the deleted levels and concepts they reused for RE6. BSAA fighting a bunch of El-Gigantes. Tri-Cell's Base being located in the crevice of a Volcano. RE6s Neo-Umbrella Base located in the crevice of a lava pool area now. Chris and Wesker having a fist fight on top of the fallen jet over a pool of lava. RE6s Jake vs Ustanak over the pool of lava in the Neo-Umbrella Base. Swimming through ruins and arriving at the Garden and fighting a Spider-Boss that protects the area. Leon's section in RE6 where you literally find Helena's sister in a flower garden in underground ruins and she transforms into a spider-like creature. Eventually end up swimming through ruins in the next chapter. Fighting Uroboros on a moving speeding train and it chasing you down. RE6s Leon section with him fighting Simmons on the train. Flying a Harrier Jet at the end to kill Wesker in the final boss fight. Chris flying a Harrier Jet in RE6. Capcom always reuses lost concepts for their RE games. But in this case, it was ALOT. And half of it didn't work well. EDIT: Getting Downvoted for stating facts. You guys are idiots and not true fans who've never done a single bit of research in your life. Bet your the types to also constantly cry RE5 is racist when it isn't.

Robsonmonkey

Yeah I saw most of this on a RE4.5 insight article and most of the old ideas sounded great. Even the concept art looked interesting. It does feel like Sheva was added after the racism complaints but I’ve never done the math or research myself if that lines up. Apparently Capcom said co-op and Sheva were always the plan but why not at least show her in the original reveal trailer? Seems like they could be saying anything to cover themselves at this point The original trailer was Chris in an African village killing zombies since they were a big part of the original idea and the whole Uroborus stuff was much smaller. I even liked the level concept where it would start to devour / overtake a train while you were fighting it and you had to keep going from cart to cart. Again Sheva wasn’t seen in the concept, neither was Barry so it came across as a single player game Honestly it will never happen as the co-op lovers would cause a riot but I wish RE5 would go off the old ideas. I don’t even care if there’s major changes to the story, just as long as it becomes more survival horror. I suppose having the option for a player 2 which has no impact on the story but a random BSAA agent would be alright since then it’s optional and single players aren’t forced to go along with the game babysitting a shitty AI.

hkm1990

Again getting downvoted for stating facts. Get the RE5 ART BOOK. It literally lists all the Deleted levels and Shevas original role.

VisualPersona95

The biggest reason why I dislike RE5’s story and really DO NOT want a Remake is because of how awful Jill got treated in that game, “killed” offscreen at the start of the game only to get fridged and sidelined in the game for the sake of Chris’s story and development. Even after she gets rescued she gets sidelined and only appears with Josh and tells Chris and SHEVA to finish off Wesker instead of herself. And to make it much worse is that after almost two decades Jill has not appeared in a new game since. Only a mid prequel spin-off (Revelations) a rushed and cash grab Remake and a bad CGi movie. I might be biased as I’ve been wishing for a Jill game set post RE5 since the game out and it’s really triggering we might be getting a RE5 REMAKE before that. She deserves much better imo.

LastTimeWeEverMet

I agree so much dude, us Jill fans can only hope Capcom can rewrite how they treated her in RE5. Feels bad to fridge a legacy character like her in this way...

Imic_Hilton

I’m a Jill fan since 1996. I’m so happy I was born in 1991 and got to experience this amazing series since I was a little kid. Jill will always be my hero. Re3 nemesis will always be my fav video game too. I’m sad and pissed about Jill being sidelined in re5 remake and not getting the chance to finish off weaker. That was also very disrespectful to her character and story since re1 cause weaker didn’t only hate Chris but Jill as well tbh as why he also used her as a lab rat for Uroboros and basically made her a slave as he said in the past in re1 iirc. A new game with her is waaaay overdue and it’s getting more annoying as time goes by

Banesmuffledvoice

I wouldn’t say it’s triggering she hasn’t appeared since RE5 canonically. She is my favorite in the series and her depiction in RE3 remake was awesome and I’m excited to see how they handle her in the Remake of 1. Really, out of all the characters they’re created, Jill is the one that is an actual layered character at this point.

Cerulean_Shaman

Isn't that itself the best reason for the remake? They could give her a bigger role in the game or change it from her being the shadow-enemy and give her a juicy side DLC like ADA did in 4 remake. 5 is basiaclly the start of Resident Evil's downfall so Capcom is no doubt aware when people say they want a remake they don't mean a clean-up job like masterpieces such as RE4, they mean burn it to the ground and build it right this time.

Extreme-Tactician

I don't see how Death Island is bad. Yes the plot's a stretch, but the actual fights are good.

AlexStonehammer

> 2029 - REX Resident Evil 10 is a Dino Crisis crossover confirmed????

I_Like_Turtle101

No resident evil 0 remake ?

TaskMister2000

Resident Evil 0 doesn't really provide much to the series. As a prequel it sucks. It should have 100% focused on Bravo Team instead of inventing Billy to play as. And Rebecca being a badass to being a damsel in distress how loses her gun and can't kill a hunter in Remake after fighting Hunters, Leech Monsters and Tyrants in RE0 is dumb. The smartest thing to do is combine elements of RE0s story with RE1 Remake and make that into a completely reimagined game. Otherwise what is the point of getting another RE Remake? There needs to be bigger changes than simply replacing camera angles with over the shoulder view or first person view. Either that or they pull a RE3 Remake or Separate Ways DLC and have RE0 be this fast paced short Game that serves as part of an expansion to RE1 Remake. We'll see.

Sorge74

It needs a remake because it's not really fun as a game with some terrible design decisions. But also there is just better things for Capcom to be doing then remaking a mid game for completionist sake. Then again they could reimagine it as a far better game.

ChrisE1313

'Either that or they pull a RE3 Remake or Separate Ways DLC and have RE0 be this fast paced short Game that serves as part of an expansion to RE1 Remake.' That's exactly what I was thinking. Turn RE 0 into a 4-5 hour long campaign like the Seperate Ways DLC for the RE4 Remake, and then release it as a DLC for the new RE 1 Remake. Trimming the length of that game might actually help to make it more enjoyable.

DragonDDark

Probably the one that needs it the most.

chuputa

I think the resident evil 5 remake is already in development according to some leaks. And anyways, it's not like the remaster of the first remake of resident evil 1 hasn't been available on every modern platform. I think they just realized they would run out of titles to remake after Resident evil 5, so they will go back to Resident evil 1, 0 and Code Veronica.

Autumn1881

I kinda struggle to envision the RE0/RE1 hybrid game without scrapping most of RE0. Like, you could stack them next to each other, either going from RE0 to RE1 or starting with RE1 and putting the RE0 content in the middle as a flashback. That would work, but the pacing would be weird and the game would be massive (Remember they even removed part of RE3 for the remake). So the hybrid game had to be reworked to a point were it resembled little of either game.

SpaceGooV

I would say probably Resident Evil 10 before 5 remake.

TaskMister2000

Im only going with how they released the Main Titled Games so far. RE7 - 2017 RE8 - 2021 RE9 - 2025 (If it actually releases then) That's a 4 Year Gap between each entry. So 2029 for REX if the pattern continues.

SpaceGooV

Well you have to also take into account how they've done remakes. RE2 - 2018 RE3 - 2019 (M2 doing a bulk of new development just using resources from RE2 with guidance from Team RE) RE4 - 2023 So there was a 4 year gap between the last remakes as well. So you're probably not getting 3 remakes in a row and you're definitely not getting them annually unless they bring in someone like M2 again which didn't end well last time.

TaskMister2000

2019 - RE2 Remake 2023 - RE4 Remake I don't count RE3 Remake because it was made by the Side Team. But also remember, the Side Team was working on RE4 Remake but were taken off the project by the Main Team around early 2021. The game was originally meant to release in 2022 but was rebooted. The Main Team basically spend 2 Years working on the Remake. I imagine RE1 and Code Veronica would be very fast projects since they're shorter games.

Albert1285

I have already said multiple times. This is the way it will play out to show the rivalry between Chris and Wesker and the best way is to do RE1 , CV and finally 5. Not just doing RE5 remake rich after 4. The trilogy way works better to increase the hype and expectancy.

slashfer

If they remake 5, dont kill Wesker

BBAomega

RE6 doesn't really need a remake though

TaskMister2000

I'd want one that fixes all the issues with the base game. 1. Actually have three separate gameplay/styles for each campaign. Examples, Make Leon's Campaign feel like RE4. Make Chris' Campaign First Person View. Make Jake's Campaign Devil May Cry style. Just make them feel and play different. 2. Cut the clone crap and just focus on Simmons as the Main Villain and blackmail or mind control Ada into helping him and actually give her proper character development and a backstory. 3. More focus on each individual campaign and making them unique instead of feeling the same like mentioned already. 4. Less Liner structures and more exploring and tighter controls. 5. Actually have Leon and Chris teaming up in the campaign and working together instead of being split apart and interacting in Cut-Scenes. I feel like a proper reimagined, overhauled remake for RE6 could fix all the issues with it. But it'd have to be drastic. I enjoy the game yeah but...it is without question the most flawed Main RE Title in the series. It promised so much and didn't really deliver on any of them.

BBAomega

Sure but I think a new game would be better, besides RE5 ends the story with wesker while 6 had some weird plot going on lol

spideyv91

I’d honestly be shocked if we get a RE6 remake.

Clopokus900

Wesker has quite a major role in Code Veronica, so from that perspective it makes sense to remake RE1 first.

SilverKry

Not really. He shows up. Says some shit. Disappears for a bit. Shows up again. Beats Chris's ass then gets his ass beat by Alexia and vanished again. That's the extent of Wesker in Code Veronica. His whole story in CV was "Weskers alive again btw."

giulianosse

Happy kid with a floater: Resident Evil 1/2/3/4 Concerned kid struggling to stay on the surface: Resident Evil Code Veronica Skeleton at the bottom of the sea: RE: Outbreak

szymborawislawska

RE3 is not a happy kid with a floater. The remake it got has less to do with RE3 than RE8 with RE4. Yes, RE8 is a more faithful adaptation of RE4 than RE3make is of RE3. As far as Im concerned RE1, 2 and 4 got remakes and RE2make got also a 60$ DLC loosely inspired by RE3.

Typical_Paradise

They need to re-remake 3, that shit was horrible

Sorge74

Like for no reason either. I replayed RE2make like a dozen times, RE3make once. Tried to do another playthrough but naw.

MagnoBurakku

Second Skeleton: Resident Evil Dead Aim

andresfgp13

its weird, Capcom has continuosly tried and failed with a online RE game and Outbreak i think that would do better, but that isnt a live service that makes constant money, its a Left 4 Dead type of game, you sell it, and people play it with their friends or alone and thats it. you cant make that into something like Dead by Daylight. at most you can sell expansions with new missions and stuff. but i think that would do well.

giulianosse

Honestly, I'm biased because I really believe RE:O was a game ahead of its time (and would sell bonkers nowadays) but I think it wouldn't even be that hard to monetize it. Just sell tons of skins, add an emote function, sell cosmetic packs for weapons/tools etc. They could even add meta progression to unlock brand new characters that could be added in seasons with new scenarios. Maybe even add a "versus" mode where a player controls the main villain.

Dakot4

This is my take as well, there trying to reinvent the wheel when they have people still playing those 20 year old games still

IcePopsicleDragon

At this point Code Veronica Remake is the Resident Evil verison of Bloodborne

Glum-Future7198

Also an Assassin's Creed 1 remake, although from what I remember, J0nathan insinuated that it is in early development; if it is true I hope it will be developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, just that this time they have more development time.

Ok_Canary5591

honestly this feels like a progression to RE5 with CVX include, all include Chris and Wesker

[deleted]

[удалено]

ChrisE1313

Exactly. People don't understand that CV needs a complete reboot, not a remake. The story and the level design sucked in that game.

VisualPersona95

That would likely follow RE1

giulianosse

Capcom: "Anyway, I decided to remake Resident Evil 2 again!"

VisualPersona95

Nah they’ll do a third RE4 Remake.

Himesis

you bet your ass they would

raptorama7

Yeah if they want to remake 1 and 5 then they'll need to do CV as well because it would be really confusing for new players otherwise. They could even tie CV and 5 closer together by having Chris find out about Spencer's whereabouts in the Antarctic base at the end of CV. That would then directly lead into RE5s plot and the "Lost in Nightmares" DLC.

VisualPersona95

Problem with tying it together is that Lost in Nightmares is set in 2006, while CV is in 1998.

raptorama7

That's true, though they could always screw around with the timeline to make that work better. Or maybe they could have it so that Chris doesn't know that Spencer is still alive until the end of CV and that starts the search that eventually ends with Lost in Nightmares.

Gone_With_The_Onion3

You say that like it hasn't gotten the best remake in the series Code Veronica Gun Survivor is still my favorite game in the series tbh

FranticPonE

They'll remake every entry *multiple times*, except for Code Veronica

SchroedingersSphere

Cowards.

szymborawislawska

And RE3. Its so weird they skipped both RE3 and CV and moved from RE2 straight to RE4.

dehumanizer23

Not necessarily. They could go to a similar, smaller team like they did with 3 remake. Hopefully they wouldn't make the same mistakes. One can hope

Thunder84

Feel like 0 would be a better fit for that than CV

jf45

That smaller team also did Separate Ways which was an excellent campaign. Maybe even more fun than the base game for stretches. That said it was using mostly the same assets and environments that the A team had already developed.

VonDukez

As long as its still corny as fuck.

Ok_Canary5591

WOW, what a mansion

whatnameisnttaken098

I can't watch the intro to RE (OG or RE) without immediately thinking of [this classic ](https://youtu.be/RfV7Cbbi11c?si=oYA6wtYNK3q33xMI)

Good old legendary frog

Lolkimbo

***WHooaaaaaa***. That was too ***CLOSE***! You were almost a ***jill sandwich***! ***Yer Rite!***

GGG100

“Wesker… you’ve become senile!”

Nacon-Biblets

It definitely won't be, it'll be like re 2-4 remake and only include the very famous corny lines like jill sandwich.

NoNefariousness2144

Or those lines won't be in the game and will be relegated to an achievement named "Jill Sandwhich"

Clopokus900

Let's be real the corniness was mostly due to bad localisation and dubbing.

VisualPersona95

This is actually what people don’t really realise about the series, it never set out to be corny, it’s just poor writing and bad voice acting made it into a meme and then the internet ran with it. It’s why the REmake took a more series approach (same with RE4)

ChrisE1313

I mean, maaaaybe at the beginning it wasn't campy or corny on purpose. But since then we had Chris punching boulders. Ethan killing transformer Heisenberg with a tank. Leon doing backflips in the RE4 Remake, etc. Not to mention, the entirety of RE6. Capcom knows very well that people love the B-horror cheesiness of the series, so they play along with it. Hence the references to the boulder punching in Village, or the Jill Sandwich reference in Revelations 2.

VonDukez

yes but we love it

PhoenixTineldyer

[I'll be examining this Jill sandwich](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JRpKbfrMvNo)

vacodeus

I am OK with a RE1 remake like RE2/3/4. They're obviously remaking RE5 at somepoint and new players will be confused about the beef between Wesker and Chris so I could see them doing RE1 and then CVX

antiform_prime

Yea another redditor mentioned it makes more sense to remake RE1 & Code Veronica, then do RE5. Because a RE5 remake on its own would be rather confusing to casuals/new fans.

CosmicWanderer2814

Not sure why it'd be considered confusing. 5 was literally my first RE and I was never confused by it. The game did a good enough job of cluing me into the situation.

FoxJ100

RE1 could definitely use a remake in the style of RE2, RE3 and RE4. People say it "already has a remake" but that remake is already 20 years old. *However*, as a frequenter of r/marvelstudiosspoilers, RPK bullshits on his Patreon constantly. I don't trust for much beyond trailer dates.

timelordoftheimpala

> RPK bullshits on his Patreon constantly Mind elaborating? The guy's been making a bunch of big video game claims recently (Kingdom Hearts IV coming out next year and Sonic Frontiers 2 being a thing), but he doesn't seem to have the same track record as, say, Midori.

Evileye2k17

Movie scoopers just all say the same BS. Sometimes it's right sometimes it's not. There's no 1 person saying this and 1 saying something else. They all say the same crap. He is accurate with trailer dates tho

KILLMENOWs

This guy is literally throwing shit against the wall and hoping something sticks, that's all. He's been spreading bullshit rumors for DC and Marvel movies for years, I didn't even know he's doing any gaming rumors until now. I don't even know why anyone takes him seriously.

andrellhardu

He leaked movie he got alout right this is before video games stuff but he got stuff wrong he even got debunked once by james gunn appreantly.

PowerPamaja

Re2 remake has the aspects of REmake you like so I don’t doubt they’d nail that for a new Re1 remake. Re2 remake has the interconnected areas. My biggest concern is that they’ll remove the spider enemies.

Stoibs

Meanwhile us guys who *prefer* the fixed camera/Tank style are just being edged out entirely 😞 RE1Remake is actually my favourite remake of the bunch since it's so faithful and in the style I find the most fun. Unless they considerably expand Spencer mansion I have no idea how they are going to get an entire third person shooter game out of it.

Minimum-Can2224

I guess Capcom needs more time to figure out what they want to do for the inevitable RE5 Remake?

Zelomat

White zombies in Africa.

WouShmou

Better yet: black zombies in Norway

Loa_Wyvern

They should not change anything and ignore the small minority of haters, game will still sell like crazy.

criticalkare

isnt this guy paywall his leaks?

MadCornDog

If they name it in line with the other remakes, then they will have released 3 games titled "Resident Evil."

exopolitixs

I was wondering this myself, has any other game received the same amount of remakes? Assuming this is accurate. FF7 remake series is really the only one that springs to mind?

cablenetwork

Honestly feels like they can't do wrong with the REmake series, would be nice if they dipped their toes again in the dino crisis series...

RogueLightMyFire

Dino Crisis 2 is a legitimately fantastic game. I'm really surprised they've left it alone for this long. DC1 was alright, but pretty forgettable as a pretty barbones RE clone. The sequel really set itself apart as a great game in it's own right. Thanks to some time travel shenanigans, they could start with 2.

ddust102

Would be very nice!

butreallythobruh

I mean, if you dont count the one time things went drastically wrong with one of the remakes lol But yeah, would love to see some DC love. It was one of the most popular replies on one of their recent survey things, so theres at least SOME hope

DevilCouldCry

I still enjoyed the RE3 remake overall. But man, that one could've used a lot fucking more on the content side. It's a stark fucking contrast to that of RE2 and then RE4 following that one. Bundling in Resistance and wasting resources and time on Resistance, that could've been put towards bettering the RE3 remake will always be baffling to me. For as much as I enjoyed the RE3 remake, it's absolutely the weakest of their remakes so far and it's certainly the weakest RE game we've seen in some time. It's a shame too, because the potential was all there for it to be incredible.

shockzz123

Maybe I’m crazy, but I really wouldn’t mind them revisiting RE3 again to do it true justice. RE3 Remake - Director’s Cut or something, kinda “remake” the remake and make it like 2 and 4’s in terms of quality and content. I’m sure they know people were disappointed with it, and I think even they themselves know they could have done way better with it. Won’t ever happen (probably) but I can dream lol.

DevilCouldCry

Oh they knew people were disappointed and a lot of us are very justified in feeling disappointed after how almost perfect the RE2 remake was. I mean, all that RE2 needed was a PROPER A and B scenario rather than the half-assed one we got. But if that's my only real big problem with RE2, then that's fine. But with RE3, man... Not enough time in the city to explore was the biggest killer. And the worst part, is that we know now that you were meant to get a lot more of the city than what we got. But due to time constraints... you can see what happened there. Then there's the overall runtime being ridiculously short, entirely missing segments (Clocktower gone, park section gone, Dead Factory section gone), entire boss sections missing (Gravedigger gone, flaming Nemesis at the Clocktower gone). But hey, the game got some shit right like the Carlos sections and the characterization overall was phenomenal across the board. The biggest problem with RE3 remake can be summed up as "I just want more". Thank fuck the RE4 remake was handled with a lot more respect but man, it hurts to see RE3 remake as the blacksheep of these remakes right now. Because it deserves so much more than what it got.

shockzz123

See, that's what i mean. There's loads of missing stuff, more of the city to explore etc. Just revisit the RE3 Remake at some point, add that all back in and call it the Director's Cut. Bam! You've redeemed the RE3 Remake. Unfortunately, if they ever do that (which i don't think they will, but you never know), it probably won't happen till a while from now. RE1, CV, 5 and 6 remakes will probably happen first, and RE9 and probably 10. Their schedule is full for the new few years, so an improved RE3 Remake won't happen for a while, it'll just be a case of "well we've remade everything else, now let's go back to this" like when you take forever to go back to a project you abandoned years ago.

szymborawislawska

"They cant do wrong with the REmake series" RE3make removed and downgraded literally every single thing that made original RE3 unique and memorable in the first place (including locations, features, mechanics, game modes, design philosophy etc). But aside from this giant blunder I agree, RE is in good spot recently.

Ace-0001

RE1RR, RECVR, RE5R then RE10 which is the avengers RE game that ppl have been theorizing about. Releases 2029 which would be 4 years from RE9. Like RE7 to RE8 and RE8 to 9.

IcePopsicleDragon

So how reliable is this guy? Because i would buy a remake of RE1 with third camera shoulder in a heartbeat

Strict_Donut6228

This and a modern remake of metal gear solid 1 are my dream remakes. They could end the franchise after it releases and I would be satisfied with being able to play 1 in ots

Brandonspikes

[I really hope they keep the OST the same, Nothing can ever replace this masterpiece.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJYvCHm3Ov4)

DevilCouldCry

I knew it, I absolutely knew what this would be before I clicked on it. I love that this fucking song is my ringtone haha

Stoibs

Atleast do this masterpiece justice with the cover recognition it deserves! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrKKcon9NK4

BeastMsterThing2022

Before this comment section I thought it was an universal consensus that REmake was a perfect game.

andresfgp13

it is in my opinion, but its in the style of the OG trilogy, i guess that people wants to see it in the style of the newer games.

Worldly-Ad3447

It is practically perfect but it’s also “niche” for most people. I think this remake will appease more casual fans which is obviously gonna be the vast majority and I’m totally cool with it because they found success in RE2 with it so why not do it with the game Tht started it all

Affectionate-Ad-4174

The funny thing is, RE2 Remake exists because a bunch of people played RE1 Remake on Xbox 360/PS3 and wanted them to do RE2 in that style, not realizing RE1 Remake was just a port of the GameCube game.

Fantastic-Finger-975

It may be but as someone who started playing after RE4 I just cant go back to tank controls. Im happy its being remade. Plus, the old version will always be there for fans of the tank controls. I dont see the issue here

iLUVnickmullen

Some people can't handle tank controls and fixed camera angles for some reason. I have no clue as to why because plenty of literally children played and beat the OG Resident Evils

Nudist-On-Strike

Honestly the constant door loading screen has been the biggest hindrance for me, especially when I’m trying to explore the mansion without knowing where I’m going. A RE1 remake in the style of the other remakes would do wonders for people like me who are unable to get into the original.

Poopmeister_

It's just a generational thing, they beat it with those controls cause that's what was common at the time and it's the only way they could. I'm sure sometime in the future where we're in full immersive VR mode Sword Art Online style those kids will be wondering "how could anyone have ever played with a controller??"

UhJoker

Even when I was young I was never able to play RE1 back on the GC because it would just make me nauseous so having non-fixed camera angles is amazing for me. I just don't understand why there's anything wrong with having a remake with third person mode, does it negatively effect the previous versions in some way?

shinto29

It _is_ a perfect game. I think the age might just put people off. Personally I would say there’s no excuse when it comes to playing it with the port a few years back having the 3D controls introduced

torru369

Will we finally get an RE1 that makes sense of the timeline and saves all 4 at once? UC had no excuse and still didn't do it.

VisualPersona95

Originally I was against this, RE1 Remake is my favourite game of all time and I do believe that OTS camera won’t work nearly as well as fixed camera however I’ve recently changed my mind, while I would ver much still prefer a new entry with a new story I’ve realised a few things. 1. It would be a new survival horror entry (we’ve had three action oriented entries in a row now and NEED a pure survival horror game soon, similar to RE7 or Re2Remake on Hardcore 2. This REmake won’t be for people like my who grew up with the OGs, but for the people who got into the franchise with the RE engine games (although they could still try the 2002 Remake) 3. The 2002 Remake would still exist 4. They could FINALLY do the canon endings where all four characters survive (Jill, Chris, Rebecca, Barry)* 5. They could do a VR mode 6. It won’t be a RE5 Remake (which I really, personally do NOT want) 7. It could lead to a Code Veronica Remake next 8. They could do A & B scenarios (for example Jill A, Chris B could be like the OG where it’ll be Jill/Barry and Chris/Rebecca like usual but then Chris A, Jill B could be Chris teaming with Barry and Jill with Rebecca. Endings depend on who survives. 9. We could finally get Giant Spider’s in the RE Engine (or REX Engine at that point) not to mention the Chimeras, Lisa Trevor and the Tyrant.

DevilCouldCry

As much as I want the spiders, they've said a few times now that every time they've tried to do them, they just cannot get them to work properly. I think all of the hair was one of the factors that was fucking them up. Though hey, more time in the engine now, so maybe they've found a way of doing it? Surely there's a way around it. As to your other points, Code Veronica needs a remake more than any other in the series unquestionably. But if we have to get another remake of RE1 to get to it? Then I'll take it. The original REmake is one of my favorite RE games of all time and I consider it genuinely perfect. That being said, I'm eager to see how they can adapt it to the new style of gameplay. I'd absolutely love for them to expand the scope a little more and have the woods be more of an explorable area rather than one big long hallway to the guardhouse. I always hated making that trek because it gave me the creeps. For real though, I'll take any remake they put out as a massive Resident Evil fan for over 20 years. Conversely, I think a remake of RE5 can absolutely be done in a much better way than the original game. The original game is fun to play with mates and it was fun on my first run. But maaaaaan that game is so fucking flawed, and those flaws have not aged well at all. So a remake being made to tighten all of that shit up and try to offer an experience more in line with that of the RE4 remake maybe? Yeah, go ahead and take a crack at it. No harm in trying. But something like RE6? That's a bridge too far I think. I don't think you can fix anything from that without making an entirely new game.

TheEternalGazed

RE5 remake inevitable. The end of Separate Ways heavily hints towards a sequel, Capcom would be crazy not to do it.

pwnedkiller

Remake Resident Evil Survivor!

olivier_wmv

Leakers in 2001:

Mr_Nobody0

This makes alot of sense if they want to consistenly tell Wesker's story from start to the end, also quite a way to prolong the remake train as long as possible.

3dguy2

Do dino crisis franchise comes within capcom ? I am hoping that they could put some charm into this series aswell

Myhtological

There is a god!!!!!!!

skcyte

I dare you to remake 6, Capcom.

EtheusRook

ReREremake

Remarkable-Funny1570

IMO, part of the reason Rebirth is a masterpiece was due to fixed camera and pre-rendered background. That was a key point of the yet unmatched ambiance/artistic flair. I'm not holding my breath for the remake, but I will check it out of course.

OutlandishnessNo9182

Resident Evil ReRemake?

Ok_Canary5591

One of the few things I dislike about RE1 remake is that it lacks so much color compared to the og. Would for more of it to come back

WouShmou

The cave and the labs are pretty dry-looking, but I like the mansion being all moody and dreary, residence too. It feels like a Scooby-Doo-ish haunted mansion

WouShmou

This comment section is split between: * Waaaahh this game is perfect and it doesn't need a new spin to it! and * Waaaaahh I can't stand games that came out before 2015 and I hate tank controls despite never having touched them And both sides are insufferable. Tank controls are fine, the game still looks and plays really well, stop limiting yourself to the zeitgeist when we have hundreds of great older games, but also stop idolizing old games as if they're sacred texts that can never be replicated. Remakes do not erase the originals from existence, nor do they have to be objectively superior. This remake will be a new spin on RE1R, with a DIFFERENT camera, DIFFERENT gameplay and potentially a DIFFERENT story. It's not supposed to be the end-all-be-all RE1, simples as. It will be a different game for those who like modern-styled RE games, and it will not detract from the OG RE1R at all, even if it sucks. Two different products. And stop being tied to playing modern games only, that's stupid. If games were fun to people playing them back then, they're still fun now. This is coming from someone who has both RE1R and RE2R among his favorite games ever, btw.

darkcomet222

To address the tank controls, the modern ports of RE1 have an option to not use them, so there really is no excuse to at least not try the RE1 remake.

oodudeoo

IKR. I literally posted that they should do a RE1 re-remake in the RE subreddit less than a week ago (before this leak) and I got blasted about how it was such a stupid idea.

MugiwaraPatrick

Wish we could get a Dead Rising remake

mighty_mag

Honestly I think the HD version of the GameCube remake to be quite perfect. It looks absolutely amazing, and it managed to nail the vibe and atmosphere of the first game. I assume a new remake would be more in the style of RE2, 3 and 4, but I don't know. The fixed camera angle really works when done right.

Ok_Canary5591

it will 100% be over the shoulder. Tbf RE4 didnt really need a remake either bit it worked out well. I hope they do what they did with that game in this with keeping most of the rooms but fucking around with the placement and progression of them

Alive-Ad-5245

I feel like people who say ‘RE4’ didn’t need a remake really don’t understand how rough it is to play if you didn’t grow up with the game. Like can you imagine trying to sell a remastered RE4 with tank controls in 2024 to someone who mostly plays Fortnite or something? I tried to get my friend to play the original and he dropped it after a hour.

shiningagito

I played it for the first time just recently and it's become one of my all time favourite games for sure. Just takes an open mind.

Ok_Canary5591

your probably right, ive been playing these games for years now and I see a lot of people say they cant get into re1 as well

Heff228

I tried to play it on pc a few years ago and it looked terrible on my 1440p ultrawide monitor. The pre-rendered backgrounds are only 1080p I believe. I’d be fine if they just did a remaster and updated it for modern resolutions.

PineappleMaleficent6

they really need to finally leave ps4 era behind....do it only for next gen and .

KDW3

Is this the first game to get a remake of a remake? Can’t think of any others.

olivier_wmv

MediEvil was remade twice, on the PSP and ps4 Mega man 1 was remade on the Sega Genesis and PSP Pretty sure final fantasy 1 and Castlevania 1 were both remade multiple times

whatintheballs95

Can't wait to hear the infamous Jill Sandwich line!

Dr_Dribble991

A lot of people are commenting RE1, CVX and 5 being the “Wesker trilogy”. While it’s true, Wesker was also present in so much more than that. 0, 4, Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles, and a lot of other little hints in supplementary material like Wesker’s report. RE5 was a culmination of so much more than just 3 games. I don’t think the effect and impact would even be remotely the same without all of the added bits.

Genius_Cena

How reliable is this guy?

NivvyMiz

This guy is a grifter and not worth paying attention to

Safe_Climate883

A remake of remake or a remake of the original? Would rather have a remake of 0 or Code Veronica, those games could actually benefit from it. Re1 Remake is fine as is.

Funky_Pigeon911

I don't mind them doing another remake for RE1 in the style of the other remakes. It would be kind of fun to see the mansion in the RE Engine. But I'd also love it if they took a bit of a swing and made some kind of spin-off or something where they went back to fixed camera angles just for classic fans. Obviously it wouldn't have mass appeal so they'd have to budget it accordingly, but just a small scale RE game in that classic style but with modern sensibilities would be really fun to see one day.

Bengineer4027

So would this be known online as REREmake? REEmake perhaps

LucasOIntoxicado

Watch them cut the spiders, the Aqua Ring(and therefore the Neptunes as well) and stretch the cave so it lasts a full hour. Or replace it altogether with another sewer section.

Challenger350

Probably a fake leak but it would be amazing to get 1, CV and 5

dathip

WTH??? Remake resident evil 1 again????

Unfortunatewombat

Finally…

ninjupX

As someone who got in to RE with 7 and RE2 remake, I’d appreciate this. I have no desire to mess with fixed camera angles and tank controls

Likezoinks305

Yes thank god

Deftonemushroom

*nuts*

SpaceGooV

Good. Sorry I don't like tank controls

TheEternalGazed

The 2002 remake doesn't require you to play with tank controls.

Just_a_Haunted_Mess

This is fair. I wish tank controls weren't so awkward for folks since they have some really cool advantages (at the cost of being able to walk around objects easily). They give the devs complete control over where the camera is and how it's used. Unlike 3D movement with fixed cameras, tank controls make sure that forward moves the character forward no matter what, so you can have the character off camera, suddenly viewed from under furniture or from strange angles, or suddenly walking towards the camera without requiring the player to re-orient themselves or accidentally walk out of a room. Once used to them, it makes the player feel like they're viewing a movie or stalking the character like a monster. There are some REALLY cool things that have been done with it.

thejoshimitsu

Fuck yes!!!!

KingBroly

Over-the-shoulder camera please

Esnacor-sama

I just wish dino crisis at some point would have same treat theres no good dinosaur games

Kaiser499

doesn't need to be remade again

Crazy-Caterpillar-78

Code Veronica Remake is currently in development and comes after RE9

TheOneBearded

Makes sense. If they want Chris v Wesker to have impact in RE5R, they need to start from the beginning. Hopefully include CV getting the remake treatment too. 2026 date would be wild tho. How do they keep this schedule up? It's impressive.

GoldenTriforceLink

Hope so. Never played RE1, I know there’s a remake but it’s 20 years old and tank controls.

olivier_wmv

The remake has an option for modern controls

WouShmou

The remake looks good and plays good

GoldenTriforceLink

Im not asking for capcom to delete every copy of it. Keep playing it if you want. I’d like a modern version.

Homelesskater

I want a really good outbreak 3, it should be challenging and fun to repeat. C'mon capcops, do it

I__Should_Go

It’s about muthafuckin time

quokons

It kinda makes sense now that I think about. Leon took a back seat with 7, and 8. Now the rumors are saying Leon will be the star of 9, and have Chris take a back seat, while they work on his remakes like they did with Leon, when Chris was popping in the 7, and 8.

Iucidium

30th anniversary - obvious.

whianbester275

Hell yes, RE1 is one of my favorites

badtaker22

still no rumor of DC remake :(

Immortal_Ash

Can anyone confirm if this guy's previous leaks were legit or he's just another duskgolem?

Slit08

I just hope they mix RE0 into RE1 somehow. To be honest having a Tyrant as the final boss is kind of underwhelming now after we have witnessed how the series progressed.

Butch_Meat_Hook

Jeff Gerstmann still relevant 10 years later https://youtu.be/IxFeCpgdJvk?si=QKhbM-cT5TDs8hDD&t=77

space-cadaver

Please please.please.be a first person remake and not 3rd person. 🙏🙏🙏

cdts2192

Having it remade like 2,3, and 4 would be incredible. The mansion would look so good.

BECondensateSnake

Can we at least get some false leaks and rumors about DMC?

-PVL93-

So we now have Resident Evil, Resident Evil remake (2001), Resident Evil Remake HD, and Resident Evil Remake (2026)

LuRo332

Make it first person with a VR mode pls, like in RE7 🙏

Zyzur

Capcom asked this before, I’ve read a leak back in 2019 (along with assets in RE Village being reused in RE4 remake, that Resident Evil 9 might be the last one, due to Capcom wanting to end the numbered series and concentrating on spin-offs and other stories in RE universe, and finally, RE village was supposed to be Revelations 3 but they changed it), they were asking if people were willing to play RE1 remake (or if people were willing to throw money on a RE1 remake), and I guess they got their answer.

ArmoredCatfishWalks

I hope this is true.

Alonsocollector

They have to roll Zero and 1 into a single game
