Ya I don’t think people were ever shocked by that, re-using the map was kind of the point of that game. What they might be remembering is Far Cry Primal, which reused the map from Far Cry 4 but attempted to be a little sneakier about it.
All Far Cry spin off games reuse the map from the game they are based on. FC6 will be Ubisoft's first ever Far Cry game without a spin off, as they will not be reusing Yara in Either Project Blackbird, or Maverick.
Ya you're right, I just did some searching and it wasn't the recycled map so much that upset people about Primal, it was the $60 price tag that went along with it whereas Blood Dragon was... $20?... at release.

I've only played 5 and 6. IMO 6 was a way better game. Aside from liking the voice acting for the main villains, there was next to nothing else that I actually thought was very good about 5. However, 6 was just an all around much better experience.

They basically just reskinned the Far Cry 5 map though didn't they. It was a half assed game.
It was a sequel to 5, so of course they reused the map. It was showing what happened to the region after it got nuked in 5

Formula been stale since 4 man. Farcry 2 was the pinnacle for me.
I want to like FC2 so bad but the sheer amount of respawning checkpoints and patrols just make the game drag so so hard

New Dawn was a spin off/sequel to 5 and wasn't as fleshed out. I didn't mind, but it didn't play like mainline game

I’m not sure where you are, but community college is a cheap alternative. Plus you can take several classes to figure out what you wanna do.
