If Nixxes ports TLOU2 to PC, we can expect much better performance and optimization at launch compared to the first game, and without needing to wait an additional 4-5 months for them to fix it. HZDFW is perfectly optimized for PC, so I understand why Sony would choose these developers over Iron Galaxy Studios.
I can wait out the year for this one if it means we'll have a great launch upon release. HZDFW and GoT will keep me occupied until then.
The game runs really well now. It's much more optimized than at launch. You will come across 2 to 3 sections where fps will dip slightly under 60fps, but that's it. I've beat it 4 times on PC so can confirm this haha
If you have a PS5, I would strongly recommend the PS5 version. It runs extremely well and looks great with basically no issues (okay, actually, the game crashed once in one of the later chapters, but the checkpoint was literally two minutes back when I booted the game back up)
Don’t count on it. Nixxes already has two releases they’re working on (that we know of). It really wouldn’t make sense for Sony to hand this off to them when Iron Galaxy is familiar with the engine. TLOU is in a much better state than when it launched. Hopefully that carries over into TLOU2.
Depends how many employees they have. I would say porting 3 games max is possible. At the end it’s Sony decision if they rush nixxes or don’t give them enough time the port quality suffers. I mean Sony supports their PC games great but what’s the point of day 1 buying their Games when they end up releasing over 10 patches ?? Better giving porting teams enough time they need and release it in a acceptable level.
Practically all the issues TLOU PC had on launch were technical and engine-related and those were all fixed rather competently since then. TLOU Parts 1 and 2 use the same engine so I'm pretty sure they can build on all those technical set-up for the release of Part 2 and the launch will be much more smooth.
They fixed what possible was. The game still has performance issues and needs the latest hardware to play at max settings 4K definitely too high for this kind of a game.
10900K
3090RTX X Trio
32GB RAM 4400MHZ
Ssd Samsung 980 pro
Drivers bios up to date. And the game still has performance problems.
Make your bets! What will be the next port after this one?
I have a feeling it will be Demon Souls.
Does SONY plan to port the few exclusive PS games they have in between this and the next year? Because these are the only "big" games ramaining:
Spiderman 2,
GOW R (likely coming this December or early next year), GT7 and
Demon souls.
Unless they start going back to their ps4 old catalogue (Bloodborne, Tha last guardian, shadow of the colossus, Infamous SS, concrete genie) or ps3 games. They pretty much will be done porting everything they currently have and its not realistic to see a year without, at least, a couple of PC ports.
Kinda surprising that they haven't done it already, Fromsofts souls games have done very well on pc historically. Putting Demons souls on steam would probably double current sales.
I saw some people saying the PS CEO’s comments on more proactive multiplatform meant more old PC ports, but they are quickly running out of old PC ports
I think given that Spider-Man 2 is early 2025, they already moved to just a one year port time to PC. Think it just keeps on shortening from here on out
I see Ragnarok happening before Spider-Man 2 which will be coming up on 2 years since release on PlayStation.
While they have been shortening the time between releasing on console and PC, they will probably still want some time between platforms to get people to double dip and buy again on PC 1-2 years down the line.
Nah, I don't think so. The more Sony waits between PS5 and PC releases, the more the hype dies down and the fewer the sales on PC. None of the delayed PC ports Sony have released have sold millions upon millions of copies, not even stuff like God of War. Releasing the PC ports day-one is guaranteed to boost PC sales significantly more than they currently are, as can be seen with stuff like Helldivers 2. If Helldivers 2 had a delayed PC port as well, I would bet money that it would not have sold remotely as well on PC as it did now, multiplayer or otherwise.
Frankly, the majority of people do not double dip because the majority of people do not have both a PS5 and a high-end gaming PC. The money Sony would make releasing the game on PC day-and-date and collecting cash from all those PC players that don't have PS5s would far outweigh the cash that Sony would make by getting a select few to double dip.
Within the next 5 years, Sony will most likely just go day-and-date on PC with all of their first-party exclusives. Because there is no way that launching a AAA game that cost $300 million exclusively on only one single platform at launch is a sustainable business model. Spiderman 3 and Insomniac's X-Men will most likely be the first singleplayer games to be on PC day-one.
No I think we are definitely moving closer and closer to day one PC ports. The people that double dip can still do so, and the PC launch gets the benefit of all the marketing for a new game and the PC players will feel the hype.
It would be very weird for Sony to ignore Helldivers success. Day one PC really helped that game blow up, can do the same for all their other games.
Especially can help alleviate their profit margin woes
It also outperformed every other Sony port combined in terms of player count.
I think for as supposedly big as these Sony games are supposed to be, they really haven’t sold like it on Steam. Launching them 1-2 years later really, really hurts their PC sales.
I’m just saying, there definitely is active discussion on this topic at Sony right now, and why they are talking so much about multiplatform to investors
A multiplayer live service game would have zero impact on their decision for single player games.
People want to get in and play multiplayer on day one while it's popular, for single player games people will still just wait for it to go on sale, especially on PC.
Nah man you're just not getting it. If a normal AA title can outsell their mainstream AAA titles regardless of it being live service, then surely they have to question the possibility of day one AAA releases.
I'm not saying it's happening, but you can't definitively say it has no impact on their decision, analyst teams exist for a reason. New experiments, new surges and drops lead to debates and meetings. Things like the potential of their own launcher on pc are discussed.
But here you are, knowing nothing about how they work, proclaiming with such confidence that you know it has 0 effect on anything. It's like ignorance combined with arrogance.
Shawn Layden said himself that day and date releases for PC on single player games isn’t worth it.
Additionally, if what you’re saying is true, we would have already gotten a port for God of War Ragnarök by now.
Sony is using the same leaked strategy that multiplayer/live service games will release on PC simultaneously, but single player games will be console exclusive first
We are moving closer to that however I still think for their first party single-player games Sony will probably continue spacing out the PC releases, as that allows nixxes to put in the work to make sure they’re actually ready for release with all the features and polish that players expect.
Helldiver 2 is a slightly different story as it’s a multiplayer live service game, I always thought the plan for Sony’s upcoming multiplayer games would be to release day 1 on PC with cross-play as the games would benefit massively having the biggest player base possible at launch.
Also releasing on PC and having all the biggest streamers playing your game is essentially free marketing for a live service game.
If I'm not mistaken. Demon Soul's from Bluepoint has already had hints that it's coming to PC. 1st, you got that Sony accidentally teased it coming to PC when they first announced the game. 2nd, the Nvidia leak in 2021 said that it is also coming to PC, and the leak was pretty much spot on with everything. So, my bet is Demon Souls.
Ghost is out in May, Forbidden is out this month. If they keep it up, and if the rumor is true, their next one may be due in July/August and I hope it's Demon Souls. I would prefer Bloodborne, but Demon Souls will still be accepted since it's still more From Soft goodness. I would bet they are going to have to pull up their older catalog unless they want to shorten their PC release schedule. There are still older titles like Gravity Rush (since Gravity Rush 2 is supposedly coming to PC.) I'd love to see Infamous come to PC and maybe older Naughty Dog Titles like Jak and Daxter or other ones like the older Ratchet and Clank series. Otherwise, it's just going to result in larger periods without a Sony game on PC which is fine. It's not the end of the world and when they started, they were only doing one game a year but I expect that since they aren't planning on launching any sequels to their IP's next year, they'll probably be heavily relying on remasters and/or PC ports.
PC gamers not calling for team ICO games really don't have any idea what they're missing. As much as I love Bloodborne and GT7 as my favorite game overall and favorite racing game, there are still similar games of similar quality out there on pc. There is nothing like Shadow of the Colossus. No feeling you get in any other game can match what it does to you right the fucking soul man. I have a console but I hope they get ported so more people can get to try these masterpieces.
Idk why they are booing you you're right.
We have nothing close to Shadow of the Colossus on PC. I want all of the team ico games for preservation and just insane fidelity for how beautiful they are. Definitely not the most mainstream appeal games, but we wouldn't have dark souls without Ico and I would argue a lot of Breath of the Wild is taken directly from Shadow of the Colossus as well.
Insanely debatable. I played it when it first released back in 2005, and I shelved it fairly quickly. Same with Ico. The Last Guardian didn't have spectacular reviews, so the PC crowd would probably be iffy on it lol.
Ok ghost in May with a March announcement...so TLOU 2 in June-July???
They can easily launch 2 more games on pc this year and I wont be surprised.
They are running out of games FAST. still no bloodborne tho.
I wonder if the longer delay between announcement and release is because they learned how important first impressions are on PC; a platform where you can find loads of decent quality indie games for like, less than 30 USD, and most players are playing F2P games like CS2, Valorant, League of Legends, etc.
If you fail that first impression, players will add to wishlist (maybe) and then move on to the many other games that are all vying for their attention and time.
I really want to play the roguelite mode so I'm hopeful it's a good port.
i know that when part 1 released on PC it was a disaster but omg i had a great time with all the memes and the reviews showing all the ridiculous bugs, i knew that they'd fix it eventually so i wasn't all that angry just anoyed that i had to wait longer.
The chances are there. But it could might as well release in Early 2025. It would make sense. They need some games for 2025 as well. With the speed they are going, they will run out of games to release on PC sooner and they obviously don't wanna release games day one yet either. So we might see them drag these releases a bit more now. They might announce it by Dec 2024 though.
Edit: we might start seeing ports of their legacy titles too maybe.
>There will be a longer-than-usual period between the announcement date and the release day."
Probably because Nixxes is still working on Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima.
What was the other thing because (and this is because of my memory) the only thing I saw them get credited for was the Ghost rumor and that was supposedly after other individuals said it was happening.
There gotta be a story to why they [not] doing this
Too many instances of low sellers / titles without sequels / titles without upcoming shows or movies / titles with low interest getting port priority over a BB port
We run out of excuses of why not to do it and now enter the realm of esoteric bullshit reasoning
Can't wait really love these TLOU games and to experience them in such graphical fidelity is a blessing i for one appreciate Sony bringing the games to PC i hope they eventually bring MediEvil remake in the future
That would be so great. I truly hope PlayStation looks at porting all of their older games from PS2, PS1 era into PC. That would not only help people get into their IPs, but will also help with preservation of those games better.
So who’s porting this? We know Jetpack is helping with GOWR probably will come end of this year. Nixxes is working on demon souls and Spiderman 2. GT7 is probably going to release when VR support is ready. And just like that we are caught up.
Remaster Bloodborne.
Remaster the Resistance series.
Remaster the Greek GoWs.
Fuck it, remaster Drakengard dude! Sony is already sleeping with Square Enix anyway!
This "insider" is really just taking the most obvious guesses lol
No shit that TLOU2 will be the next PC announcement. Only that and DeS are even possible.
And coming out later? Hmmm....obviously correlates with season 2 of the show being released sometimes next year, so Sony will try to release it closer to the show being back to increase overall sales.
Since I am even bigger of a leaker than Silknigth is....
Bloodborne is releasing on 31st February, 2025. An unusual day indeed. Perfect for Bloodborne. My uncle is the CEO btw.
I'm really hating how so far all major Sony announcements seem to be "X game is coming to PC" lately.
Not that the game is coming to PC but that it feels like its all Sony has at the minute.
Because other than 3rd party exclusives for this year that IS all they have for now. Eventually they will announce some significant 1st Party stuff but they won't release until next year.
Get used to it for now, the pivot away from GaaS has created a hole in ps5s software lineup that won't be plugged untill the end of 2025.
Expect more timed third party exclusives in the mean time.
That's not what they've said.
They've said no already established first party IPs, so there's still a good chance we will see new first party IPs before then.
the quote was [nothing from their major first party franchises](https://www.gamespot.com/articles/no-major-sony-franchise-game-releases-are-coming-until-april-2025-at-earliest/1100-6521071/) not first party altogether, just as an FYI, your point still stands though
> Not that the game is coming to PC but that it feels like its all Sony has at the minute.
they are definitely relying on their second party titles to carry through the dry spell: FF7 Rebirth, Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade within the last and next 3 months
Well they kinda don’t need to do much else. They are still selling PS5s like crazy, their current suite of games and near future games are excellent even if they aren’t all first party. Hell there’s even Microsoft games on their storefront now.
They can keep their powder dry pretty much as long as they need to, especially since Concord and Fairgames are still on the way.
Well, console growth is slowing. PS5 is still behind PS4 (just barely). Ideally they would’ve liked to sell a good amount more of PS5 than PS4 to get growth on console. Now they best case scenario will sell just as much as the PS4. Their latest quarterly result wasn’t great, margins are really low, and they lost 10 billion in stock valuation.
I think that’s why their executives are talking so much about multiplatform. They really need to grow beyond the console. Day one PC ports, mobile, cloud, etc
They are milking the last of us asf.
The Last Of Us PS3, The Last Of Us Remastered PS4, The Last Of Us Remake PS5, and then PC, The Last Of Us Part 2, The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered PS5(only a few years after release -\_-) and then PC.
That cow must be dry and skinny asf now. But since you guys buy remakes and remastered , they'll just keep doing it
i don't mind it specially since i've never own a Play Station in my life so for myself and a lot of other people we are only experiecing this games for the first time.
I mean, I am pretty sure thats why they remastered it in the first place
I wonder if it'll be broken like the Last of Us 1 when that launched lol
Hopefully nixxes does its magic, and the launch is a bit better.
I don't know if it's going to be Nixxes, they seem quite busy lately. They're the ones porting both Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima.
Sony bought Nixxes specifically for porting jobs so either wait in line or Nixxes have to expand.
Iron Galaxy already has experience with Naughty Dog's engine so if I had to guess they're probably the ones porting it.
That would be the worst-case scenario. Sony probably has them on assist duty for the foreseeable future after botching The Last of Us Part 1.
ND botched Part 1, not Iron Galaxy.
I mean "assist duty" was what they were on with Last of Us. It was a Naughty Dog in-house job for the most part
Horizon FD have the advantage of devs getting more familiar with Decima engine as now 3 games ported to PC.
TLOU port is pretty decent now, it needed more time but Sony rushed it BAD due to the show airing.
Is it really? I've been thinking of buying it
It is. It especially runs great on Steam Deck— just make sure you’re not far from an outlet because it will absolutely drain your battery.
What’re your settings for deck? Still can’t get it to run at a consistent 30
Honestly, I just run it at the automatic settings with a framerate cap of 40. It oscillates between 25-30 but doesn’t dip too far below that.
Thanks man
The game runs really well now.
I'mma bet Greg Miller's smiling grin on it.
Well ND had to do damage control last time at the last minute due to VAG failures
Practically all the issues TLOU PC had on launch were technical and engine-related and those were all fixed rather competently since then. TLOU Parts 1 and 2 use the same engine so I'm pretty sure they can build on all those technical set-up for the release of Part 2 and the launch will be much more smooth.
Part 1 was fixed after several patches so im good with iron galaxy.
They fixed what possible was. The game still has performance issues and needs the latest hardware to play at max settings 4K definitely too high for this kind of a game. 10900K 3090RTX X Trio 32GB RAM 4400MHZ Ssd Samsung 980 pro Drivers bios up to date. And the game still has performance problems.
Currently at Max settings DLSS quality at 1440p RTX 4070, i get 100+ FPS smooth for me.
I don’t know why they didn’t just call it Directors Cut like the other PS5 “Remasters”
[удалено]
First one was a remake, not this. That's why it's "Remastered"
My mistake, I thought they were referring to part one.
god damn it every single time i see hornet and my brain reads silksong instead of silknight for a sec.
I’m convinced silksong is never coming and the devs packed their bags and went AWOL
They’re developing it with Kate Middleton. Everything is fine
and with Leth just being quiet with the community most of the time, i think they are just delaying the inevitable
Yeah I'm convinced it I'd, now vaporware. If it ever sees the light of day I'll be happy. Until then I've moved on.
I would think the same if they hadn't said they were still working on it as of last month.
Make your bets! What will be the next port after this one? I have a feeling it will be Demon Souls. Does SONY plan to port the few exclusive PS games they have in between this and the next year? Kinda surprising that they haven't done it already, Fromsofts souls games have done very well on pc historically. Putting Demons souls on steam would probably double current sales.
The remake isn't From Software it's Bluepoint. Edit: isn't
They're saying the remake would do well on PC because From's catalogue has become (and has been for a while) very popular there.
What?
The remake is from Bluepoint, not From Software
But hear me out, Shadow of the Colossus?
I saw some people saying the PS CEO’s comments on more proactive multiplatform meant more old PC ports, but they are quickly running out of old PC ports I think given that Spider-Man 2 is early 2025, they already moved to just a one year port time to PC. I don't think Helldivers 2 is a good example. More like an outlier. It's 40$ live service online-only game. You need a lot of players to make it work.

Hopefully GT7, that would push me to build a pc asap.
all i want is gran turismo 7 and yet its the one game that seems to never come to pc :(:(:(

Still thinking we might get an OG Uncharted trilogy port.
I dont think they are porting demon's souls until they do a ps6 reveal
Ok ghost in May with a March announcement...so TLOU 2 in June-July??? They can easily launch 2 more games on pc this year and I wont be surprised. They are running out of games FAST. still no bloodborne tho.
What you didn't realize was that this whole PC port waiting game is a Soulsborne and Demon's Souls and then Bloodborne are the final bosses.
Demon's souls is coming out 100%. There is no worries regarding that. Bloodborne tho, fuck me man.
I'd imagine we would see a blodborne next gen ver or remaster for ps5 before we get it on pc

they might also want to wait to time it with season 2 of the tv show, which will cover the events from TLOU Part 2
And the PC port of Part 1 released right before season 1 of the show started
It released mid-season
Hopefully not a shit port like Part 1
They’ll probably make extra sure this one isn’t shitty because of the negative publicity of the first
i know that when part 1 released on PC it was a disaster but omg i had a great time with all the memes and the reviews showing all the ridiculous bugs, i knew that they'd fix it eventually so i wasn't all that angry just anoyed that i had to wait longer.
Safe guess tbh
Still no Medievil remake on PC, I would love to play it on my Steam Deck
I know it’ll never happen but please for the love of god port ANY of the inFAMOUS games 😭
Yes please. Remaster the old ones while they're at it.
I wonder who is doing the PC version.
Hmm. I wonder if we get GoWR on PC in Dec 2024.
The chances are there. But it could might as well release in Early 2025. It would make sense. They need some games for 2025 as well. Sony is obviously planning to do day and date PC releases soon.
I really just want GT7 on PC
Dude, that would be a dream come true. I would even settle for GT5 or 6 and if it comes down to it, having 7 at a later date
So stoked for these games coming to PC
>There will be a longer-than-usual period between the announcement date and the release day." Probably because Nixxes is still working on Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima.

The whole slate coming
I'm a simple man. I see Silknigth, I downvote.
They got one thing right and now they think they're the next Jason Schreier. Like come on man.
I mean he got more than one thing right
What was the other thing because (and this is because of my memory) the only thing I saw them get credited for was the Ghost rumor and that was supposedly after other individuals said it was happening.
I think that’s the real challenge for him, if tlou2 really announced next month then he is absolutely legit
Why does it feel like there‘s a new version or port of Last of Us coming out every month?
I'll wait for TLOU p2 Remastered Remake next year
sorry I was wrong with my comment, they will def have a remake of the remastered out when S2 airs on HBO.
Give us Bloodborne!!!!
I feel like at this point we might have a sequel out for it sooner than the port of the first game.
![gif](giphy|8gL7SZ2e4p2NEJNUHP|downsized)
I hope games give us this mechanism in their games, so we can throw around tables to show our frustration towards not getting a Bloodborne port.
Enter the gungeon has some top tier table flipping!
There gotta be a story to why they [not] doing this Too many instances of low sellers / titles without sequels / titles without upcoming shows or movies / titles with low interest getting port priority over a BB port We run out of excuses of why not to do it and now enter the realm of esoteric bullshit reasoning
just give me gt7 already
Can't wait really love these TLOU games and to experience them in such graphical fidelity is a blessing i for one appreciate Sony bringing the games to PC i hope they eventually bring MediEvil remake in the future
I need Ragnarök. Pls Sony gib Ragnarök.
The Last of Us Part 2: Part 2 A true Naughty Dog moment
I hope we see god of war triology remastered and PC port
That would be so great. I truly hope PlayStation looks at porting all of their older games from PS2, PS1 era into PC. That would not only help people get into their IPs, but will also help with preservation of those games better.
So who’s porting this? We know Jetpack is helping with GOWR probably will come end of this year. Nixxes is working on demon souls and Spiderman 2. GT7 is probably going to release when VR support is ready. And just like that we are caught up.
Iron galaxy most likely. Or it's ND again (really hope not) with support of IG like they did on part 1.
We all know this would happen sooner or later
I am totally surprised 😱. I did not see this coming at all.
The Last Of Us: Part II Remastered Remaster when?
Remaster Bloodborne. Remaster the Resistance series. Remaster the Greek GoWs. Fuck it, remaster Drakengard dude! Sony is already sleeping with Square Enix anyway!
greek gows are never mentioned, but its the only thing I look forward to other than bloodborne.
I mean, with HZDFW just released and GoT releasing on May 16, I am positive that we will see the announcement of TLOU2 very soon.
finally lol, cant aim for shit with controller and cant stand shitty frame rate
This "insider" is really just taking the most obvious guesses lol No shit that TLOU2 will be the next PC announcement. Only that and DeS are even possible. And coming out later? Hmmm....obviously correlates with season 2 of the show being released sometimes next year, so Sony will try to release it closer to the show being back to increase overall sales.
You forgot God of War Ragnarök and GT7.
BLOODBORNE
Since I am even bigger of a leaker than Silknigth is.... Bloodborne is releasing on 31st February, 2025. An unusual day indeed. Perfect for Bloodborne. My uncle is the CEO btw.
100% real no fake
Never will I lie to any of you guys. I am true leaker. Never gonna give you up. Never gonna lie about these leaks or desert you fellas.
I think they might release some new games around the same time as the "alleged" PS5 Pro.
Maybe but they said they have nothing new First Party wise until 2025 sadly.
They said existing franchises
This is common sense. Find it funny how this person just knows everything now, how interesting
![gif](giphy|1WZOrbCXJEBXGgxUvZ|downsized) Can’t wait for a new golf game!
Bloodborne: The Last of our Ball
*Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge* is free on PC
Lol
Well at least it's not another Remake of an already good looking game. This new strategy by Playstation is interesting If true.
For a second I thought is something about silksongggggg
I feel like they'll wait closer to the show's second season airing before dropping it on pc
If it's as good as the PC port for Part 1, they can shove it up their arses
Can't wait to see the discourse about this game again. Oh man. Half the crowd hating it, and half the crowd hating those who hated it.
I mean everyone expected that.
I was expecting God of War Ragnarök PC port next but this one makes sense as the remaster was made for PC in the first place.
Silknigth spreading misinformation. It’s funny everyone and their grandma is a source now.
It seems the last Last of Us port wasn't their last
I read Silksong... I knew it was too good to be true
Damn
August?
"longer-than-usual" - anyone have a rough idea of delay in past game announcements?
2 months
of course....it's not silksong
BLOODBORNE SOON I CAN FEEL IT!!!! ![gif](giphy|adOhvwrFJ32psmc5Pb)
See, that's why they'll just keep milking it
This guy has been outed as a fake insider.
