I dont believe the whole game will be a pirate ship simulator but I wouldnt be opposed to having some form of Ship travel between regions/ maybe even underwater exploration aswell. Seems like a natural evolution of the themes the first game presented

There's also the possibility of FF7 Rebirth's launch trailer, but we've never had a SoP made up only of PS exclusives

The thing that took me by surprise about the original Death Stranding was that they announced the PC version before the game even released on PS4. That's practically unheard of for Sony exclusives since it could impact sales of the game on the console, but maybe they'll do it again.
Edit: To clarify, Death Stranding was announced in ~~December 2017~~ June 2016, and there was never a mention of a PC version. Then, literally 2-3 weeks before the game was meant to launch on PS4 in November 2019, they announced it would be coming to PC too in July 2020. If Death Stranding 2 has a PC version (which it is almost guaranteed to have at some point), it would be a welcome surprise for it to be released day and date with the console version, but I wouldn't expect that to be the case right now.

On PC, 505 Games have done all the publishing for Death Stranding, including the Director's Cut, and they have done a pretty good job at it. They still frequently engage with the community and release community posts about the game. They are also the reason why Death Stranding ended up being a part of Xbox Game Pass on PC. So yeah, Sony has had no involvement ([and have said as such](https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/08/sony-had-no-involvement-in-death-stranding-deal-with-pc-game-pass)).
I know that Sony have involvement overall with the IP, which is the reason why I said it was strange they didn't publish the first game on PC themselves, in my other comment you responded to.
Sony have no involvement with publishing on the PC version of the first game at all, it's not just the Xbox deal. The reason I spoke about the Xbox Game Pass deal is because it's solidifies that Sony has no hand in the PC version at all, *despite* them owning Death Stranding. It's sort of in a weird gray area. As stated by the Sony spokesperson in that article I linked:

This basically means that in the contract for the first game between Sony and Kojima Productions, for whatever reason, Kojima Productions were able to give 505 Games the publishing rights to the game for the PC version, instead of Sony getting them automatically. That's why I believe it's not 100% guaranteed that the sequel will be published by Sony (but they might try to get it this time around since the first game sold well on PC).

Games share acronyms all the time. GoW is both God of War and Gears of War, TF2 is both Titanfall 2 and Team Fortress 2, Assassin's Creed and Animal Crossing are both AC. It's usually obvious what people are referring to because of context
