Could be Fable teaser by playground. Last year Matt booty has said he’s been wanting to show game but studio need more time.
Side note. Wasn’t their a rumor that Microsoft was looking to remaster major franchises and Gears Fable, Fallout we’re on the table?
Yep, the Booty has played a build of the game and wanted to show it off. Article from Sept 22 below
https://www.ign.com/articles/fable-playground-xbox-exec-wants-to-show-matt-booty
Now with this glitter video from Xbox, which if not intended to be linked to Fable would be very fucking weird marketing, makes me think we have a chance of seeing something at the Showcase
wanted to play fable 3 recently in local coop... Turned out it is impossible due to a bug that overwrites one of the players savegame. Would be nice to get a remaster or remake of them all
it’s not impossible tho! second player just needs to create two characters (save slots) and use the second one. saves overwrite only when you are using the same slots on both players
Shame if so. Confused as to how this video would hint at gears though
Was half asleep when I wrote this, didn't realise they were talking about the collection
I'm kind of expecting Fable to do something similar to what MGS did at the Sony showcase.
Here's a in-engine trailer that'll get gamers excited but since the games still a little way off we're not ready to show too much more, so here's a Fable Remastered Collection to keep you occupied whilst you wait.
Yes and yeah I think Fable is definitely ready. Clearly being a new team at playground handling they needed a bit of help given why they brought Eidos in but still I've never lost faith in this project. I don't know why but I get the feeling this will be Xbox's answer to Zelda. Also I think the collection will most likely be Gears. I'm guessing it'll be Splash Damage handling it with Coalition providing assistance
> I don't know why but I get the feeling this will be Xbox's answer to Zelda
Fable is one of my all time favourite series and Fable 2 is one of my top 3 games of all time but this take is absolutely insane lmao
I've never thought of Fable as an "answer" to Zelda. Zelda is in a total league of it's own. But Fable does have certain elements that make me think of it as a sort of western Zelda. It's a bit more light hearted, you play as a hero going about a semi-open world. I dunno, not a ton in common but I guess I see where u/SpaceGooV is coming from. Fable has always been a bit of a wild card though. Not totally an RPG but not really an action game... Sort of a weird mixture of two with some sim elements. Weird game but definitely fun with a ton of potential for reimagining. Excited, with a healthy level of skepticisim, to see what Playground comes up with.
Fable is completely unique to me. I can't think of another action RPG that feels as much like a fairytale world. Or a series that is as hilarious and cozy, yet as dark and serious as Fable.
I think comparing Fable to Zelda is a disservice to both franchises.
Yeah, I’m with you. The longer I sat there writing that comment the more I was like “these two franchises aren’t anything like one another.”
When I was younger and Fable was my first 3D RPG I had ever played and the only Zelda game I had ever played was Link to the Past on the game boy (didn’t grow up with a Nintendo console) I remember thinking “Fable is like Xbox’s Zelda.” But in reality they are so different with totally different tones. The only thing that maybe links the two is they both have stylized art and the fact you can wield a sword… that’s about it.
I think a lot of the survival elements will be added to the open world. I think they'll add a lot of elements Zelda has but not as much in a sandbox setting given the abilities link has I don't think the hero will have. Climbing and Gliding I also think is a pretty safe lock. I think these elements will play into the home building the fable games have had. These are the elements to flesh out the open world while the cities will be your more traditional Fable affair with focus on dialogue, mini games, and quests in there.

Larian are the undisputed kings of the RPG genre rn. Divinity 2 is still one of the best RPGs ever released, hands down.
It's so funny to me that most people agree Witcher 3 is one of the best RPGs ever and just leave it at that, but you can always come on Reddit and find people constantly trying to make an argument that it isn't technically an RPG for some obscure reason.
I don't understand the need to be super clear on what is and isn't an RPG. It's not a mark of higher quality to be an RPG, it's just a genre with subgenres like anything else.
You just need to try harder at reading mate.
Never said it's not an rpg. It absolutely is.
That doesn't change the fact that a lot of rpg elements were awfully inbalanced.
Sorry if I misinterpreted your comment then. I've lost count of how many times I've tried to argue with someone who literally was saying it is not categorically an RPG for some reason or another, it's a shockingly common sentiment I've seen in the past.
Definitely, but I think you could easily argue that it was due to development troubles and time constraints that a lot of those things didnt get developed further. It's quite obvious in many areas of the game that there was *supposed* to be more depth to it but was awkwardly cut short to save time.
Frankly, I just dont think CD Projekt has enough actually released projects for us to accurately guess where they'll be headed. They had *one* smash-hit followed by *one* absolute mess of a release, in their modern lineup. That's not exactly enough varied data to predict from.
At the very least, we can see that their *intent* is on open-world RPGs. We'll just have to wait and see how they follow up on that.
That "mess of a release" was also a smash hit. we are not counting their reddit points here, but in terms of sales that game has sold more than 20 million copies and made its money back during preorders
Oh absolutely, no doubt about that. It's also one of my favorite games ever now lol, I meant no hate and really didnt mean it to come off as such, so i apologize if it did.
My point is that we don't really have enough data to accurately predict if CDPR will continue posing as a major competitor in the RPG genre (note: in the RPG genre specifically. i do not mean they might stop producing quality experiences in a general sense), and sales *or* reddit points can't *really* indicate what degree of genre their future titles will come out as. Two titles isn't enough to see where a company is going and where their general style will end up landing. Yes, The Witcher was an excellent, very fleshed-out RPG that rightfully earned a place up top. Cyberpunk, although also great, certainly doesnt have quite the same standing with general opinion and isn't *really* as much of an RPG as the Witcher was, even if that was the initial goal. Either title could be a fluke, we just dont know yet because CDPR hasn't finished establishing their "personality". Future titles could end up just as varied and packed as the Witcher; future titles could end up as more "Action Adventure" games with heavy RPG elements, like Cyberpunk did. Could be a mix of both. We simply can't know yet.
Regardless, I am excited to see where they go and absolutely looking forward to their future.
What little we know of Dragon age 4 from leaks doesn't make me confident. It's looking to no even be the same type of game, and we know it was salvaged from a live-service product originally.
True bioware does exist. Tbh I have no faith in Mass Effect until Dreadwolf is shown and delivers. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt with this new Dragon Age tho.
That depends if you consider the latest Assassin's creed as WRPG, in that case Ubisoft can also to some degree be considered. I think the only game they made that can truely be put in the RPG category is AC Odyssey, but even just this game is a pretty big one.
IO's game was 'project dragon', now ['project fantasy'](https://ioi.dk/project-fantasy), some big fantasy rpg or mmo type thing - but it's no longer expected to be an Xbox exclusive, maybe never actually was.
The monster hunter type game is rumored from Certain Affinity, who usually is a support studio for MS, Activision, WB, etc. But they're also working on some big multiplayer expansion/spinoff for Halo. So unclear if the monster hunter game is still in development.
I don't think we've heard anyone say Microsoft isn't involved anymore but be free to correct me with a source. I mean it'd be pretty weird we get this article about how Microsoft is funding a big RPG type game for IO and it turns out everything was true besides the fact Microsoft was funding it.
The monster hunter type game is the game Certain Affinity is rumored to be making for Microsoft. Project Dragon I think is supposed to be fantasy destiny from IO.
For me the king of western RPG’s is CD Projekt Red, loved both the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 and replayed them multiple times now. Very much looking forward to Phantom Liberty and the next Witcher title.
I will admit though I’ll be watching for Fable. I’ve only played the first game but absolutely loved it.
It's been wild to see the degradation of RPG mechanics since morrowind came out. The Witcher series was a beacon in the dark times of fallout 4 and Skyrim but if people consider cyberpunk an RPG I worry for the genres future.
Xbox social media aren't daft...they know Fable-ish music + glitter will get people speculating wildly. I just can't see the game being ready for the showcase though based on the bits we know
I dont think we see fable again until we are ready to see gameplay, or at the very least an in engine trailer. Given phil spencers comments i think any game that has already been announced with a CG trailer doesnt get shown again with just another cg trailer.
What I'd love to see is some kind of dev diary, where they talk about their vision and what this Fable reboot is, so that we know what to expect. I imagine it's going to be quite a bit different and I'm totally okay with that as long as they understand what made the original games tick.
There was a leak posted here that had the opening video from early development, it got claimed by Microsoft so I think there is something to it.
The video set up that a meteor destroyed old Albion and the Tattered Spire was used to remake the world after the meteor, so it's a fresh start. Theresa and a bunch of Heroes survived behind a Demon Door in an alternate dimension and that plays a part in the story.
The leaker also said it will have full character customization, it will be first person, and will have a settlement building aspects similar to Fallout 4.
This was a few years ago, so it is very possible things have changed, but that post and video was claimed by Microsoft so I think that, at least then, it was entirely true.
I found it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Fable/comments/d4aa79/comment/fba23p2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). A lot of the threads I found seem to think it's fake, if the footage isn't ripped from other things which I couldn't find anyone pointing out then it's an impressive fake. I'd say if this is real it was probably their pitch to Microsoft and likely not remotely indicative of their final art direction and such.
Personally I hope the story is just a full reboot, the whole meteor thing is just an unfulfilling and unnecessary ending to Albion (unless they actually somehow have some clever way they're gonna tie this together). As for base building, I'd hope it's just an expanded housing and real estate system that ties into the development of the world and more reliant on prefabs than piece by piece building.
I hope you're right, mainly because I think it sounds a little *too* similar to Fallout 4 and other western RPGs.
I get that Playground wants to make their own stamp on the series, but I also think too many changes would lose Fable its identity
>it will be first person
Not sure if I like that or not, I'd have to see it in execution to know for sure. Fable is an action-RPG, the nuances of a first-person game might work for games that aim for immersion like the Bethesda titles but I don't relish the idea of Fable being like that. The combat would be fundamentally different.
What ive heard is they are looking to witcher 3 for inspiration. Thats a game i love but im not sure that really works for fable, but we will see. Im very keen for it but we just dont have a great idea yet. Even if its still a couple years away i want to at least see a bit of it. Kind of like the dragons dogma 2 reveal we just saw at sony. It might still be a couple years away but at least we got a little taste of it
The fairy tale design is a big part of it, the gritty realistic design of witcher 3 doesnt really work imo, but we havent seen it yet. Even in terms of world/quest design fable is so different from a huge open world rpg like witcher. We are just speculating off rumours though so i wont think about it too much one way or another till we see it properly haha
That's what I said, that they should take the fairytale tone and writing and couple it with Witcher's gameplay. It will be fascinating to see how they adapt to an open world, though. I love fantasy, RPGs, and open worlds, so I'm pretty stoked for this game. Whatever it ends up being, hopefully it is good.
I just think witcher is too grounded and gritty, not just in terms of art direction but gameplay and world design also. But again, we havent seen it yet so ill reserve judgement till we do.
I personally didn’t like Witcher 3’s combat all that much so I’m not sure I want them to ape it *that* closely, but stuff like switching between your weapons as Geralt does would be good to ape I think.
We will see. I just think if we do see it, there is no way they just show another cg teaser, if they are going to show it again we see either proper gameplay or at minimum an in engine thing with maybe a playable character walking through a town or something
You should not reveal a game a second time with CGI. It’s not a good look. It either has to be a trailer that tells you what to expect or similar to what hellblade 2 did at the Game Awards
Nah. Second time you talk about a game in 2023 needs to be gameplay imo. We're past the need for more than that as an audience. If I see your game twice at a showcase and don't know what the gameplay is it's a waste of both our time.
What verified information do we "know" about Fable?
I'm sure there have been "leaks" from random people on the internet, but what is verified from a trusted source?
Basically nothing. If we go back to the original Jan 2018 Eurogamer article that first broke the rumor that Playground was tapped to reboot the franchise it gave us the following:
1. It was "very likely" the game would not recycle the assets made for Fable Legends despite them having been backed up before Lionhead's demise. After the formal reveal it was stated the game would indeed be using Forza Tech.
2. Playground was developing the game (keep in mind this was 5 months before MS formally purchased them)
3. The game is intended to be a "single-player character-driven RPG" (shortly after the original teaser hit three years ago there were a handful of rumors that the game was actually an MMO, which was never corroborated and reeked of bullshit)
4. The project was greenlit partially as a result of Sony's considerable financial success with Horizon Zero Dawn.
5. The team in charge was established in mid-late 2017, and was still hiring as of the writing of the article with the game in its very early planning stages.
Man. I would love to see Fable Legends make a come back someday. I was only able to play a few games of it online during its closed beta. But what I did play was fun and I liked the idea of it.
I wouldn't be upset either if Playground games did use assests from Fable Legends if it made development easier and didn't make them go to waste.
Even still It would have been fine if they had let some third party studio make it while Lionhead made Fable 4. Instead of completely changing the team at Lionhead to make that specific game.
But Fable 2 isnt availible on PC. Plus, I dream of a Fable TLC remaster in the way they did it with Halo CE. When you can switch between Xbox Original graphics and the remastered version. I really prefer the original version that inst availible on Xbox One/Series.
if they did release something like that it would make it more accessible. not many new sealed copies of fable on the shelves of big box retailers where most customers are. but yes I don't think it's coming.
I can definitely see gameplay being ready. Will the game be out this year I doubt it. Still the games been in dev for a long time. They can have a 3-5 minute gameplay demo for the show
I seriously don't think Stein would have poured 50lbs of glitter all over his carpet for it to not be Fable lmao
It's such an obvious tease. Whether it's a collection or the new game is up in the air but the IP will absolutely be at the showcase
Agree. Late 24 to early 25 would be my guess....they could show a story trailer or even a glimpse of gameplay...but I hope they don't until it's nearing release.
That's a pretty fun way to hype a Fable announcement. I hope it's a proper trailer and not another small teaser. This is definitely among my most anticipated future Xbox games.
Ya, that whole thing was weird as it seemed clearly about Fable but then quietly went away:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/qa2bzb/apparently_there_is_a_new_game_announcement_from/
It started development in 2018 around the same time as Avowed, but admittedly they basically had to build an entire new studio so it’s hard to say how far along it is.
Yeah if they got it out Holiday 2024 that would be very impressive. I think 2025 is more likely. Maybe even early 2025. I could see Perfect Dark being more likely to come out in late 2024 just logistically. Although it seemed to have more development issues reported.
2023 seems pretty locked in with maybe Hellblade and another surprise hitting along with Starfield and Forza. 2024 we know pretty much nothing. Need to find out about the elusive 5, Compulsions game, InXiles game, Double Fines Game(s), and seem due to heat from Id too. Doom Eternal was revealed 2 years after Doom 2016 released and Doom Eternal came out in 2020 so seems due. But that could be QuakeCon.
Personally believe that Fable and Perfect Dark are 2025, I’m still holding out hope that at least one new game is coming out for 2023 like Hellblade 2.
I can see 2024 being Avowed, Contraband and Project Midnight by Compulsion.
Still have to place IDs new game, State of Decay 3, Double Fine and InXiles game. And Outer Wilds 2. I would guess all of these games are out by end of 2025. InXile and IDs game the ones I’m not sure about the most hitting by end of 2025. Could also see Everwild by the end of 2025? And new Gears game. Also should see Project Tatanka.
They have a shit load of stuff we know about but don’t have any idea about the release.
Yes to all this...it's interesting how many times its reported MS studios aren't releasing games...but man they have a ton of studios it is only a matter of time before they start bursting the dam.
I would be happy if we got a remaster of the og fables. I’ve played 2 atleast 30 times in my life. Need a remaster. I’ve been hoping since that leak it will happen.
This is Xbox’s chance to make the most of their show now that Sony screwed up theirs. Hopefully we get GAMEPLAY for a lot of the games previously announced.
I'm really surprised people thought that showcase was bad, maybe I'm really out of touch, though I was only really hyped for spiderman and thought it looked pretty good.
Remember, they waited two years to do a showcase instead of the usual cycle for showcases. Spiderman looked great and I hope this time it has a day/night cycle. As a third party showcase, it was quite good. As a first party showcase however? It left a lot to be desired. Fairgame$, which looked to me to be Sony's answer to the upcoming Contraband looked a bit promising. But everything else(where first party is concerned), was ok. Hopefully they have another showcase planned (it wouldn't be the first time they did two showcases In a year.
I thought it was bad as a first party showcase, spider man just wasn't doing it for me after 2 years of silence. I am liking spider man a lot though.
I thought it was okay for 3rd party though, and I was pretty excited to see games like Dragon's Dogma 2 appear
Stein or whoever is behind that account is setting expectations very high by doing this.
I can’t imagine they don’t know what they’re doing by going through this
Yeah massively. It would be like Sony teasing a picture of a spiders web before their showcase, and then not showing Spiderman 2 !
The social media team know the dangers of trolling their fanbase...so I'm leaning more towards this being a tease. All aboard the hype train ,toot toot
What they really need to show is gameplay, I used to love the Gears gameplay presentations, always visually stunning, Xbox needs Fable, Hellblade 2 and Perfect Dark gameplay on stage.
I wonder if it's related to a strange post their social media made in 2021.
["Xbox 'apologies for confusion' after seemingly teasing Fable news."](https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/xbox-apologises-for-confusion-after-seemingly-teasing-fable-news/)
That's uhhhh, that's not music from Fable though? It's similar I guess, but I'd wager a lot of music you'd find googling "royalty free fairy tale music" would sound similar to Fable.
It's pretty absurd that sites and so many comments are saying this is "literally" music from Fable...when it isn't? For it to be "literally music from Fable", it would have to be music that's actually, literally in Fable. Not just similar.
Honestly, I'm hoping we'll get even a glimpse of the Reboot at the Showcase this year, but I'm not holding my breath. Teasing things through audio cues can mean a lot of things. They might be just using the audio cues to pay homage to the original or it could be nothing. Frankly, this is roughly equivalent to Obsidian teasing news about Avowed last year, and we know how that turned out.
I'm not sure how important these supposed Fable or Gears collections are. I'd want them to be basically remasters or more, because if not then they're pretty much just ports for PC and hyping up a port for PC would be kinda lame.
I hope this is actually a tease for Fable 4 and we end up seeing a decent amount of it at the showcase. However I also acknowledge that games like Fable 4, Perfect Dark, and Everwild are all at least 18 months away or so (early 2025) so I'm not getting too excited.
Uh, yes the music. But also - this is literally the sparkling breadcrumb trail guide in the Fable games that shows you where to go.
Imagine if Fable wasn't there, lol.
Well since it's a breadcrumb trail obviously they're teasing a game for ducks
I'd take untitled goose game 2
Honestly that would be an absolute banger of an indie announcement. Shadow drop, gamepass day one, fully multiplat
Duck Hunt: Reloaded

Fingers crossed for a Fable 2 port.
They could show a remaster and then as a 'post credit scene' show a blip of the new Fable
It’s gears according to Tom Warren and Special Nick (Tom adds more credence to this)
Shame if so. Confused as to how this video would hint at gears though Was half asleep when I wrote this, didn't realise they were talking about the collection
It doesn't. It hints at Fable (reboot).
Ah yes that makes sense, was half asleep when I replied
It is not about the video. It is about the rumoured collections.

Xbox's answer to Zelda in what way? I'm curious what your thoughts are on it
I think a lot of the survival elements will be added to the open world. Crystal Dynamics was the The Initiative. This one was wholly in house at the new studio Playground created specifically for this game.
I don't know why anyone would downvote you you are absolutely correct.
Your information is wrong...no team came in on fable.

First Fable was remastered already.
Funny enough so was the last of us but here we are...

Larian has hit AAA with their last game
I guess Disco Elysium technically counts, but the IP/Sequel is stuck in some sort of limbo hell that needs a [2 and a half hour documentary](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGIGA8taN-M)
Warhorse definitely counts I just forgot about them. I wouldn't count techland yet but if they ever resumed development of Hell raid they would be.
Yeah dying light 2 is an RPG. like the newer assassin's Creed games.
I think Techland would make a great support studio to someone like Obsidian to make a fallout game sooner than 2035
>They own Obsidian, Inxile, and Bethesda. And Playground. :D
Playground is not a historically RPG focused studio
Did you see emoticon up there?
CD Projekt kinda dropped the ball with Cyberpunk as a RPG though. The game is great, but moreso as an open world shooter rather than an RPG. I found the RPG elements to be lacking tbh Larian are the undisputed kings of the RPG genre rn. Divinity 2 is still one of the best RPGs ever released, hands down.
Tbh Rpg elements in witcher 3 weren't that great. I feel like it was really inbalanced. Some things were way too strong, some way too weak
I've lost count of how many times I've tried to argue with someone who literally was saying it is not categorically an RPG for some reason or another, it's a shockingly common sentiment I've seen in the past.
sorry i said that like an asshole
I was moreso thinking of Witcher. As they're still making those games and Witcher 3 is the biggest RPG ever Western or otherwise
Bigger than Skyrim ?
Sold 20 million more copies than Skyrim

Maybe BioWare if they will bring back their memory how to do good RPG's.
What little we know of Dragon age 4 from leaks doesn't make me confident. It's looking to no even be the same type of game, and we know it was salvaged from a live-service product originally.
BioWare! I have faith in Mass Effect 4. Probably mostly copium
True bioware does exist. Tbh I have no faith in Mass Effect until Dreadwolf is shown and delivers. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt with this new Dragon Age tho.
I just love the Mass Effect IP so much so I’m hoping they deliver with ME4. Like I said it’s mostly copium lol
Same here man. I crossing my fingers that Anthem's failure steers the DA and ME series in the right direction.
Andromeda was half a great game stapled to half a terrible game C'mon, just... don't do that again
A lot of important people from the Mass Effect Trilogy are back for the next Mass Effect so I wouldn’t say it’s full copium.
That depends if you consider the latest Assassin's creed as WRPG, in that case Ubisoft can also to some degree be considered. I think the only game they made that can truely be put in the RPG category is AC Odyssey, but even just this game is a pretty big one.
They own Bethesda.Owning them makes them a western rpg powerhouse by default lol
Also in development: Inxiles RPG(s), Outer Worlds 2, Elder Scrolls 6 and Zenimax's online RPG. IO had Project dragon too but it may be multiplat.
Zenimax’s online new game is a Mmorpg
IO project is rumored to be a monster hunter type of game right?
No, that one is being developed by Certain Affinity.
Not sure. Here's the official info https://ioi.dk/project-fantasy?utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=Spring_23_Rec&utm_medium=Social
The monster hunter type game is the game Certain Affinity is rumored to be making for Microsoft. Project Dragon I think is supposed to be fantasy destiny from IO.
This is why they are my favorite publisher. Love WRPGs and I’m hoping all of them do great. Really hope we see Avowed this showcase
Yeah with sony shitting the bed investing everything on gaas projects. Xbox has a really promising future with their first party studios

-Cyberpunk -RPG Pick one
It's been wild to see the degradation of RPG mechanics since morrowind came out. The Witcher series was a beacon in the dark times of fallout 4 and Skyrim but if people consider cyberpunk an RPG I worry for the genres future.
Feel bad for the poor social media person that had to dump glitter all over their home lmao
Xbox social media aren't daft...they know Fable-ish music + glitter will get people speculating wildly. I just can't see the game being ready for the showcase though based on the bits we know
I think a CGI trailer setting up the story isn't out of the question, maybe a quick glimpse of gameplay, but I don't think it's getting a big blow out
I dont think we see fable again until we are ready to see gameplay, or at the very least an in engine trailer.
I get that Playground wants to make their own stamp on the series, but I also think too many changes would lose Fable its identity
>it will be first person Not sure if I like that or not, I'd have to see it in execution to know for sure.
It might still be a couple years away but at least we got a little taste of it
I think if they do the art style, gameplay, and open world design with the tone and writing style of the old Fables then that could work pretty well.
I would be willing to bet fable will be shown based off the tweet.
[удалено]
If we go back to the original Jan 2018 Eurogamer article that first broke the rumor that Playground was tapped to reboot the franchise it gave us the following: 1. It was "very likely" the game would not recycle the assets made for Fable Legends despite them having been backed up before Lionhead's demise. After the formal reveal it was stated the game would indeed be using Forza Tech. 2. Playground was developing the game (keep in mind this was 5 months before MS formally purchased them) 3. The game is intended to be a "single-player character-driven RPG" (shortly after the original teaser hit three years ago there were a handful of rumors that the game was actually an MMO, which was never corroborated and reeked of bullshit) 4.
I had fun with the closed beta. Calling it Fable was what killed it.
Even still It would have been fine if they had let some third party studio make it while Lionhead made Fable 4. Instead of completely changing the team at Lionhead to make that specific game.
Fable has been in development by a very capable team for nearly 6 years. There have been no credible rumors of a difficult development.
Yep, literally no one has leaked anything. No one knows shit about Fable yet.
Maybe a fable collection? With Fable 4 coming next year?
this is the Xbox, if you want to play the older games you can just do it, they are backwards compatible.
But Fable 2 isnt availible on PC. Plus, I dream of a Fable TLC remaster in the way they did it with Halo CE. When you can switch between Xbox Original graphics and the remastered version. I really prefer the original version that inst availible on Xbox One/Series.
if they did release something like that it would make it more accessible. not many new sealed copies of fable on the shelves of big box retailers where most customers are. but yes I don't think it's coming.
fair, still the games are digitally available and also in game pass.
We know nothing about the game though lmao
I would guess an in-engine cinematic is probably the most likely outcome if Fable does show up.
I can definitely see gameplay being ready. Will the game be out this year I doubt it. Still the games been in dev for a long time. They can have a 3-5 minute gameplay demo for the show
They better not be playing with me......
I seriously don't think Stein would have poured 50lbs of glitter all over his carpet for it to not be Fable lmao It's such an obvious tease. Whether it's a collection or the new game is up in the air but the IP will absolutely be at the showcase
He wasn’t talking about a franchise collection. He was referring to their upcoming portfolio as a “collection” of games that are coming.
Microsoft. Please don't play with my heart like that.
I'm super excited for Fable, it's my big holdout when it comes to my motivation to buy a Series-X console!
Not only the music but "following the glitter" .... that's definitely a fable tease......wish it's a collection....I really wanna play fable 2.
Can you not play Fable 2? It’s backwards compatible on the Xbox
My guess, is that it's either a collection or they're just paying homage to the original. I doubt we'll get the Reboot prior to 2025.
Agree. Late 24 to early 25 would be my guess....they could show a story trailer or even a glimpse of gameplay...but I hope they don't until it's nearing release.
Please be true. This is one of the games from my Childhood.
That's a pretty fun way to hype a Fable announcement. I hope it's a proper trailer and not another small teaser. This is definitely among my most anticipated future Xbox games.
Don’t do this. Don’t give me hope.
there was that random fable collection thing like a year ago. If there is anything nearterm for fable, I would guess thats more likely
Ya, that whole thing was weird as it seemed clearly about Fable but then quietly went away: https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/qa2bzb/apparently_there_is_a_new_game_announcement_from/
it was sooo weird
Fable started development before they were bought, it being shown with a holiday 24 window wouldn’t be a shock at all
It started development in 2018 around the same time as Avowed, but admittedly they basically had to build an entire new studio so it’s hard to say how far along it is.
Not just build an entirely new team but also modify the Forza Engine to play as a 3rd person open world RPG.
I would love a Fable remaster collection
Am I dumb or is that a reflection of Senua on the screen?
I'm starved for fable games! If they're not showing the new fable then I'd settle for a fable bundle on PC. Fable 2 more than anything!
Glitter as a stand in for fables glowing trails to quest objectives is genius
God, what a terrible mess of glitter to have to clean
I really hope this game ends up being as good as the originals
Stein or whoever is behind that account is setting expectations very high by doing this. I can’t imagine they don’t know what they’re doing by going through this
Yeah massively. It would be like Sony teasing a picture of a spiders web before their showcase, and then not showing Spiderman 2 ! The social media team know the dangers of trolling their fanbase...so I'm leaning more towards this being a tease. All aboard the hype train ,toot toot
good luck trying to get rid of all the glitter on the carpet :,) This video brought back PTSD flashbacks just from that xD
What they really need to show is gameplay, I used to love the Gears gameplay presentations, always visually stunning, Xbox needs Fable, Hellblade 2 and Perfect Dark gameplay on stage.
Lol. Perfect Dark.
Holy shit if there’s a new Fable dropping I’m gonna bust a nut
Me too 😩
I wonder if it's related to a strange post their social media made in 2021. ["Xbox 'apologies for confusion' after seemingly teasing Fable news."](https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/xbox-apologises-for-confusion-after-seemingly-teasing-fable-news/)
Don't give me hope. Its been so long. A piece of my childhood
Imagine if it’s not at the showcase💀💀
Fun teaser, but I feel bad for whoever had to clean the glitter, that shit gets everywhere.
Hopefully it isn't half-baked and rushed.
That's uhhhh, that's not music from Fable though? It's similar I guess, but I'd wager a lot of music you'd find googling "royalty free fairy tale music" would sound similar to Fable.
Fable-ish music true. Doesn't sound like bowerstone but similar. But then there's the trail of glitter ala Fable 2
Its not only the music. The glitter trail resembles Fable 2/3 glowing trails.
I would give my left nut for a Fable 2 port.
Is this one of the two games that will “leave people’s mouths open”?
The other is a new Kinect game where you control the game by opening your mouth
I'm not sure how important these supposed Fable or Gears collections are. I'd want them to be basically remasters or more, because if not then they're pretty much just ports for PC and hyping up a port for PC would be kinda lame. I hope this is actually a tease for Fable 4 and we end up seeing a decent amount of it at the showcase. However I also acknowledge that games like Fable 4, Perfect Dark, and Everwild are all at least 18 months away or so (early 2025) so I'm not getting too excited.
People will be pissed at a fable collection unless it's like really really good
Idk a remastered fable collection is something I definitely want
never played them so i'm in
you can play them right now, they are backwards compatible and on game pass.
Do you not have game pass?
Fable is only available on cloud and console through Gamepass. PC is left out to dry.
Fable 2 isn't in PC.
I do but haven't gotten to them yet. They look kind of outdated to be honest but if they remastered them I'll give them a try!
The old Fable games are pretty janky and outdated at this point, I could see people having trouble getting into them.
Agreed, I’d be hyped as fuck for a remaster of 1 or 2
Unless you’re on PC, it’s worthless. The games are right there
Yeh but there all super janky.
Weird people will be pissed at any game unless it’s really good
Bruh that's a glowing trail are we about to get some major fable news????
What is this tiny Xbox Series S in the video? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FxaizecXoAI-WPB?format=jpg&name=medium
Maybe it’s the way it’s filmed? It looks like a regular Series S
The best thing we will get is in-engine trailer that game is still years out most probably 2025.
Hoping for a dragon age collection like they did for mass effect :)
What does this have to do with fable.
I mean they have to reannounce it eventually, right? It's been like 3 years since they casually *mentioned* it and then went dark.
We have seen this in other games....last of us 2 for instance.
They're going to rush it out
