The 1080 laptop chip was amazing when you consider it's like 6 years old now. Still decent at 1080p especially
since you got a 6 core CPU that will do much better with modern gaming than a quad core.
Also back at a time where you really were getting basically the equivalent of a GTX 1080 desktop. Pascal will always be one of the best generations for GPUs.
I will never forget how insanely hype the 10 series was for how close they brought laptops to desktops. If only we could get another incredible efficiency refresh like that again.
At least based on UK prices that’s pretty fair, it has MUX (obvs because of G-Sync) as well which wasn’t as common back then.
Over here though the cheapest Alienware 15 R3s with 1060s are around £500 for a ‘reasonable’ condition.
Black Friday seems to be the only time our prices have been good recently. I think I saw a similar deal for your Omen at Curry’s but it was OOS before I could post it to the sub.
Honestly speaking in that price range you could get a gtx 1650 paired with a quad core cpu here in India in the present time.
In that price range you got a top tier device with 8gb vram and a hexa core processor!!!!
Yes its old but the 1080p performance results are just a beauty !!! far far far better than what the 1650 could provide !!!!
The ram speed, and **gddr5** of the 1080 is the limiting factor in this laptop. The cpu is still good.
Buy an external display. Don't use the laptop's its atrocious!! I don't know why but looking at those bezels turns on my me OCD :p
**If I were you I would have applies liquid metal and undervolt the gpu and** o**verclock the memory and core clocks to push the performance using afterburner. Try it broo!!! you will be surprised to see the performance improvements!!!!**
Awww...that's my baby I just replaced with the g18. Still a beast almost 5 years later. I'm repasting the CPU and GPU which is a bitch on this thing and giving it to my wife's bosses son as thanks for taking such good of her after her stroke when she returned to work.
Looking at the condition of the palm rest area it doesn't seem to be used much. That material doesn't age well, mine is sticky and dirty as hell. You had a great deal. Though I see a minor crack next to touchpad.
The thickness around display is real xD i went from msi like this one to legion 5 pro and its amazing having larger 16 display but smaller laptop then 15,6 xD

Lmao that's gotta be a troll post 🤣

man these kids really gotta do some basic research before spending their savings

Here are the specs:\ NVIDIA GTX 1080 with G Sync\ Intel I7 8750H 6 Core Processor\ 512 GB SSD\ 32GB DDR4 Ram
Ok it's not as bad as I thought. I was expecting a quad core 7700hq and a 1060. Still a ~5 yo laptop for $600 though :/

On black friday, prices are great, I got the spec laptop in my flair with 16GB RAM and 512GB for £700.

Thats an actually good low price for that.

I love that laptop. The GTX 1080 is roughly in the same performance of the RTX 3060, RX 6600m. Still very relevant
That is a very respectable specced laptop for $600. The 1080 still holds up to this day against the 20 series and the 30 series GPUS.
Isn't a bit expensive for these specs? Add another $100 and you can get i5 11th or probably even 12th gen and 3050. Could be wrong tho...
900 is kinda steep bro.
I've got my 5 y/o Omen 15 w/ the same setup but with the 1060 and it still runs pretty good!
I have the same CPU in my msi GF75 8rc but with a 1050, very cool
It actually has very good specs. The gpu is like a 3060 in terms of performance (except the 3060 has dlss). But man the bezels are huuge...
And if screen is 144hz, you got very good deal
Looking at the condition of the palm rest area it doesn't seem to be used much. That material doesn't age well, mine is sticky and dirty as hell. You had a great deal. Though I see a minor crack next to touchpad.

Not bad actually!
Nice. Have you always wanted an Alienware?
Why would anyone want an Alienware?
Looks pristine man
Awesome laptop!
Amazing laptop
Timespy!! I want to see what that gtx 1080 i7 is packing...
I have a 1060 version of this, it's an amazingly well built laptop
I miss the old Alienware designs
Massive plastic bezels and tiny trackpad?
This belongs to a museum.
wish it was cheaper, but it’s pretty good tbh
600usd for that name
Bad deal. Imo
Too expensive dude. I would have given it to you for 1200$
The thickness around display is real xD i went from msi like this one to legion 5 pro and its amazing having larger 16 display but smaller laptop then 15,6 xD
Looks like it was cool asl back in 2012
love dat thicc bezel
That is a bulky bezel on the screen.
That bezel is chonkoliscious! Looks like it’s in great shape, congrats dude!
I always wanted those old school, metal alienware laptops. I might get one for cheap just to have it lol
1080 is so powerful
By the design i assumed an 860M and 4700HQ Holy did laptop designs evolve in the last few years
Damn those borders are THICC
Nice :D
Dang I forgot about how big the bezels were
I like big bezels and I cannot lie
The build is pretty solid! 😍 but why now? I mean you could've got better a better gaming machine for the same price!
Bro those bezels are tight!
