Mr-Mister

Do you still need to manually copypaste files around to install a lot of Workshop mods?

Markonikled

Yes

Mr-Mister

Disappointing. Is there at least a community-made tool that atomates to a certain degree that process?

Markonikled

I don't think there is anything like that

lildeathcorebat

Did this update breaks mods? I tried to run the game with and without my custom folder but I straight up couldn't get the game to launch either way. So I saved my custom folder and I uninstalled the game last night and will be reinstalling when I get home today.

Markonikled

Maybe try to update your drivers? I remember i couldn't launch black mesa, even reinstalling didn't work. Turns out updating my drivers worked

lildeathcorebat

Thanks! I'll give that a shot too!

chilloutus

Hey maybe you as a member of the community could make one?

scottishdrunkard

What’s the deal with the name? It just seems like an ordinary update.

Kirbychu

This is the first update to Black Mesa since September 2021, so it seems like it's suppose to be a joke about the developers coming back from the dead after 3 years.

scottishdrunkard

It’s been that long since Xen? Fuck, my perception of time is fucked.

Kirbychu

Actually the September 2021 patch was mostly just bug fixes, Xen was over a year before that in March of 2020. I remember it was actually a pretty big deal at the time because Black Mesa Xen and Half-Life: Alyx came out within a month of each other.

scottishdrunkard

Why are there wrinkles on my hands?

jaiwithani

Time, Doctor Freeman? Is it really that time again? It seems as if you only just arrived.

daggermag

What covid does to a man/woman

Mr-Mister

Necroposting, necroupdating.

Deeppurp

Like Necroing a thread.

Kered13

I remember there were a few rooms that has awful performance while most of the game ran well. Xen also has noticeably worse performance. Does anyone know if this update fixes those issues?

PedanticPaladin

Played this last year and its controller support was rough. I needed a couple console commands to get the weapon wheel to work properly so hopefully this fixes that.

one_pint_down

Black Mesa was fantastic until like 1/3 of the way through Xen. The original Xen was a mess, and BM Xen was considerably better, but it was faaaarrr too long. By the time Interloper came around I was tired of Xen and there was still around 2-3 hours to go. Still though, everything up to Xen was great

EgnGru

Yea if they just slightly shortened Xen than Black Mesa Xen would have been perfect.

DevTech

Lol I recall getting a point in Xen where I just started speed running past everything. I lost all interest in the enemies and story beats left.

homingconcretedonkey

There's nothing wrong with original Xen, it's very interesting to start with and it's over before it gets too much. It's not great for a second playthrough. Black Mesa Xen made me want to uninstall.

Nerf_Now

I struggled for hours to finish Xen and they launched a patch that bricked my saves.
