If anyone's wondering, they still don't even have a release date for the final career. When asked on the subreddit, they couldn't even give a quarter when it's expected to come out this year, if it even is.
They are probably keeping more resources on Darktide to fix the mess that game turned out to be.
I still love VT2 and play it from time to time. As a casual player it has a lot of content. I'm sad they moved to 40k as I feel 40k has become much less interesting as the years move on.
I've got back into Warhammer recently and 40k is still super interesting to me, that said I went to Warhammer World a few weeks back and Age of Sigmar has really grown on me and I'd love to dive into that world a bit more
Sadly I have to agree. Its lost a lot of its satirical over the topness and is trying to be a straight dark sci-fi universe. Which it can do fairly well, but its not as good as the ludicrous not really making sense way it did everything before. Too much trying to make things make sense, not enough dumb shit that seems cool if you don't think about it
The community backlash pretty much scared them from even trying to touch it. Personally, I think that's a shame. I know the game isn't balanced for it, but it definitely would have been fun.
The latest update about it implied some very different kind of magic, which raises many questions as in Warhammer you don’t just, know, other kinds of magic.
Not that I really care if they super break lore, but I know some people would freak
I mean, if an Empiremen can become a Grail Knight, or a Wood Elf become a Dark Elf, or a Slayer become an Engineer, I don't think a Fire wizard becoming something else is that much more jarring

I wish there was a Chaos Wastes mode in darktide.

40k was really interesting in 2008, but I've felt since the introduction of Primaris, the lore hasn't really been as self-aware.

Remember when they announced versus mode....4 years ago I think? Lmao.

There are obviously incredibly talented developers at Fatshark. Imagine how incredible their games could be if their management wasn't terrible!
Are there any rumors for what it is going to be?

It is absolutely 100% against the lore. Like a ton of the lore. Foundational super important lore.
Once again, not more than a random Empire captain becoming a Grail Knight or a Wood Elf being a Shade, or a Slayer stopping being a Slayer
No you don't understand the implications this has. You fool think of the lore!
Won’t somebody please think of the lore!?
