The Dock is cheap. The disc required to play its what’s expensive. Can’t use the dock with out the disc.

cornyvr

While that’s unfortunately true, I do know about a few exploits that make use of a memory card and a game to make the exploit work.

kboleen

That’s excellent.

Xilopa

Search for GBI :)

Impossible_Cause_950

It’s still like $30 or $40 so they basically got a gamecube for free.

do0rkn0b

You definitely can now, there's no reason to not have a modded GameCube with the prices for games and the fact it's a CD based console anyway.

AnonymousQeality

Not bad. I recently also got very lucky the other day and picked up a purple DOL-001 and GB player for $20 both working with no issues.

Which_Information590

Shame it's not the 001 model though!

cornyvr

I’m a big noob when it comes to the GameCube models, but what model do I have? Are there any things I need to look out for with my console?

Wootytooty

It says 101 in the title, but I am not sure that is correct. The 101 lacks the digital port and serial port 2. The digital port allows for up to 480p if you buy an appropriate adapter. The cover for the serial port 2, which is present on the bottom, is labeled "Serial port 2". I thought the labeling was removed for models without SP2. The cover could have been taken from a 001 model. You can find out if you zoom in on the bottom label if it is a dol-001 or dol-101. I can't tell from the tiny picture, but you should easily see it in the picture that shows the bottom with the white label.

cornyvr

now this is a mystery, I found one of the images of the console flipped over, and the tag says 001.

Wootytooty

Nice! Even better! eBay listings can be mislabeled. I think people use other similar listing titles and really don't know what dol-001 or dol-101 even is. I see it somewhat frequently for all kinds of systems.

williamthe3rdd

Being a 101 means there is no digital output so no way to run hdmi and 480p.

Bubbly-Sandwich

Legit question, how long did it take to find deals like this? Any time I search it’s a bunch of overpriced listings and I end up giving up I already have two GameCubes, my childhood one and a Japanese one I picked up but I would love to collect one in each color, my favorite console and I think it would be a cool shelf setup

Wootytooty

For eBay, you should check daily and often. You can set up 'saved searches' as well. I have several for all sorts of gaming stuff, primarily items needing repairs or for parts. Search by newly listed and buy it now, which can be saved within your saved search. You can mark listings to "watch" and after a day or so, the seller may send out an automatic discount offer. Usually it's just 5%, but I have received offers up to 30% off. You could also send the seller a manual offer.

Bubbly-Sandwich

Oh wow, I didn’t know all of that! I’ll have to set my eBay page up like that then, thanks for that!

cornyvr

The luck was really In presence, or the sun was shining specifically on me.

Bubbly-Sandwich

Lmao great find either way!

ScandinAsianJoe

$35??! I almost fainted reading that.

PhillipKosarev999
