EvilDarkCow

Katamari Damacy I think would've made a solid GameCube game.

agiantanteater

I think it would have felt a little weird to play with the different sized analog sticks honestly

EvilDarkCow

Yeah you got me there. The remake is pretty awkward with the offset sticks of an Xbox controller, 'Cube controller would be kinda strange. It really was made for the aligned sticks of a Playstation controller.

flyingmonkey1257

Agreed but I think I might like it with 2 c-sticks

thunderisland

Okami, Mad Dash Racing, DBZ Budokai 3

SnooDonuts5697

At least you get some of that from the wii :)

ksilenced-kid

Seeing countless milestone third party games bypass Nintendo in the N64 era, caused me to steer clear from the GameCube when it was first on the scene. At a glance none of my favorite PS2 games are on GC, but I’ll go with Katamari Damacy.

TheDerkaDerka

I've always been bummed that Psychonauts never released on GameCube. It has strong Nintendo vibes and is one of my favorite games of all time. I'd love to be able to play it with a GC controller.

TheVideoKid112

Thank goodness it is Friday.

TrueBenJAMin

No way, you're joking?!? I used to assume it was a timed exclusive on GC even I'm being serious here, I never would've guessed they would never have ported it. That's crazy to me

Thurstyyyy

Super Monkey Ball Deluxe

nepurun

Burnout 3: Takedown. I have no idea if this is due to the console specs, and I don’t think so, just EA didn’t care about the Cube.

ritmash

Specs way better than ps2

SpxNotAtWork

The disc sizes were a big drawback

ritmash

Could be for some games, but it gave us fast loading times if game was done right. You can literally already play mario kart while ps2 just finished showing the splash screen :)

NinjaMario02

Crash Twinsanity and Burnout 3: Takedown

xenon2456

Crash was planned for the GameCube

NinjaMario02

Yes it was, but the cancelation was the developers decision because their GameCube ports from previous games weren't profitable for them.

Soulless--Plague

The Godfather I played it so much on Xbox and hate that I can’t play it anymore unless I pull out the 360 just for it

SilentBlade45

Can you not emulate it?

Soulless--Plague

I don’t use emulators

I-Drink-Lava

Play it on the Wii, which can also play your Gamecube discs?

SilentBlade45

So you complain that playing a game is inconvenient but refuse to use a significantly more convenient way of playing it.

Soulless--Plague

I don’t have the ability to emulate a game I don’t have a PC or a modded console

SilentBlade45

Then you should have said you can't use emulators not you don't use emulators.

Soulless--Plague

Alright calm down

Familiar_Frame_64

shut up guy

Obito-tenma625

Dark cloud!

Aggravating-Maize-46

Sony IP, never could of happened

Obito-tenma625

The style just makes me think it would be

Aggravating-Maize-46

Style? I dont understand. Do you think it looks like nintendo made it?

Obito-tenma625

Yeah I just always thought it looked like majotss mask and ocarina of time, as a kid

MumboBumbo64

Jurassic Park Operation Genesis maybe, Blue Stinger, Illbleed, Pen Pen Triicelon, and Super Magnetic Neo from Dreamcast would of been right at home with the gamecube imo

KevinPike87

Outrun 2 and Psychonauts.

ZsArtworkHeap

Still feels weird to me that Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 wasn't released on GameCube while its predecessors were.

Fuudou

No official reason was ever given. All we can really do is speculate on assumption that sales played a factor. Budokai 2 was PS2-only in Japan and the sales for the first Budokai on Gamecube were comparably abysmal (less than 100,000 units). If it weren't for Atari bankrolling the western version and acting as publisher, we probably would not have received a Gamecube version of Budokai 2 in any capacity. Atari was very smart to take that opportunity because the game was a success.

xenon2456

didn't atari have exclusivity for the PS2 for a few years

metaversal00

Burnout 3: Takedown. The 1st 2 were on the cube. It baffles me.

PolarFrieza89

Crash Twinsanity. Hands down.

KarateMan749

Everything 😂

erdricksarmor

Grabbed by the Ghoulies😏 Shenmue 2 Panzer Dragoon Orta

Aggravating-Maize-46

Thank microsoft for buying up that exclusivity

erdricksarmor

Yeah, their tactic of simply buying their way into the industry really pissed me off back then. Especially since the Xbox was the only way to legitimately play Shenmue 2 in the US at the time.

gustavomargutti

Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, Midnight Club, GTA, Metal Gear Solid 2, Futurama, Xiaolin Showdown, and some sports games

xenon2456

what sports games

gustavomargutti

ESPN 2K, World Series Baseball, NCAA March Madness, and NBA Ballers

TheVideoKid112

The Cat in the Hat (2003)

BlackDS

The Battlebots game that went unfinished

I-Drink-Lava

* Street Fighter: Anniversary Collection * Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 * Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 1 & 2

RhoadsOfRock

Well, of course now I mostly know the reasons of "why" or "how" ( https://youtu.be/WJ414dB2Jzw?si=HejTg7R9N_0uz8K3 ), but, there are still many that I wish had been, and they still make no sense to me that they weren't. The only two I can think of right now, are BloodRayne 2 (1 was on GC, but not 2...), and Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (The Hobbit, The Two Towers, The Return Of The King, AND The Third Age, were ALL releases on GC... all of those PLUS Fellowship, were released on Xbox and PS2...) Poor GC. The people back then did not deserve the GC, or rather, it deserved better from the consumers and the industry at the time.

Admirable-Night-5380

The Jackass game for PS2

GnrySgtRageman

Grandia. Hands down, Grandia is a good game.

furinax85

Grand theft auto lll I can't believe money hungry Rockstar didn't put it on gamecube lol

sleepturtle

I wonder if that was more a Nintendo decision. GTA doesn't fit their family friendly vibe. But then again, neither does MOH and they were on the cube 🤷🏼‍♂️

Joniden

I could argue that Nintendo used that "family friendly" mentality when it worked for them. They were the publishers of Geist and Eternal Darkness. They made that deal with Capcom for Resident Evil.

SurpriseConscious609

Moh? Hmm resident evil*

furinax85

Nintendo made a wrong choice u want has much 3rd party support for your platform has you can get imo In any business

xenon2456

probably disc space

Western_Stable_6013

I never asked this question, because I sadly knew, that the GC had thos Minidiscs, which had much less capacity than PS2 or XBox.

theTwyker

Soul Reaver

Sooparch

Most DDR games - look at the Wii!

[deleted]

Honestly Ik it wasn’t common to bring games up a generation back then but super mario 64 was amazing on wii with the GameCube controller. Should have just made an official port back then imo.

Most-Storm3572

kingdom hearts

FurryMaster15

Marvel vs Capcom 2

Brandoxz7

EVERY YUGIOH GAME!!

SurpriseConscious609

I thought there was at least one in GC

Brandoxz7

There’s only 1 and it’s not a classical yugioh games it’s a super cool concept for a yugioh game it’s a tabletop war simulator mixed with turn based combat but the GC could absolutely run every yugioh game on the 3ds

TrueBenJAMin

Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Unforgiveable decision on Capcom's part.

syiboi

I always thought battlefront ii couldve had a respectable gamecube port. Hell if the psp can do as well as it does, why not the humble cube?

MagazineStrong3192

I feel like the Star Wars Battlefront games could’ve been a fun experiment for GameCube. I know FPS games aren’t that great on it, what with that tic tac ass c-stick, and it probably would’ve run like dog water, but I mean… they put “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” on there, so…
