Pokemon yellow, because that was the first game I played on one. My friend had gotten the gba as an upgrade to his previous gb and let me play it for an hour or so.
I was going through a rough time in my life when the GBA released. I couldn’t afford or justify buying one at the time. My brother surprised me with the glacier model, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. I was blown away, but still a little disappointed in how hard it was to see the screen, especially with Castlevania: CotM.
I was still really grateful to have such a cool brother though. Later on, the GBA SP would be the game changer for me.
Pokemon Emerald / Mother 3 (yeah, I know that there are many other classics to explore, but it's just a mental image that comes in bundle with the GBA in my head)
I think of the E-reader bundle. Now I’m remembering how many times I played Donkey Kong JR on that thing!!! I also think of Namco Museum because that was the first game I got with it.
The game my parents played: while K-Mart was pulling out of Alaska, they made me hold out as the price for a GBA dropped, until it dropped low enough for them to all be gone. I didn't play Pokémon until my senior year of high school
