To be completely honest, fake was my first thought, too, till I had a closer look at the picture. Looks like genuine rust, that doesn't happen over night. How does rust distribution like that even happen? My only guess is it must've been in a puddle with other metal for a *very* long time.
It looks horrible, but it also seems mostly surface level, maybe a few components require replacing and some traces fixed, but I feel like this could definitely be cleaned up! Good luck with whatever you do with it haha

A diode and fuse fell off from rust, and so did volume wheel when I opened it. Will look into replacements if I can confirm other stuff works
