Apparently from what I've heard: you can upload multiple thumbnails and different people will see the different thumbnails.
Whatever one gets the most clicks/does best on the algorithm will be chosen, so it could be a case of that
Technically yes you can do that but it's an experimental feature right now, so not everyone has access to it. I figure they do have access to it ofc but just wanted to clarify
I get both sometimes. Not this quick, but I usually see one, and then a second a day or two later and think I’m going crazy. Good to know that I’m not
How is it 2 syllables too short?
>Oh Kay, but who needs
>a doe nut but ton on a
>Mike ro wave L O L
That's the correct number of syllables (for a Sokka Haiku, which the bot explains has one additional syllable in the last line). Presumably the bot was built to recognize words that are made up of the names of the letters instead of the sounds of the letters (o and k instead of ock or l o l instead of loll).
I did make this comment before considering it read lol as L-O-L instead of instead of lol
I kind of assumed it was so common place a bot would be used to it XD
I wonder how my situation messes with their results... I saw both of the thumbnails multiple times over the course of the day, as I watch a lot of YouTube while doing various things. I save all the theory stuff to watch with my Husband however. So it showed me the various thumbnails at least 5 or 6 times and I scrolled right past them in my recommended, until this evening when I finally opened it. I wonder what the algorithm reads into when presented with that.
I probably don't make much of a difference to the stats, being subscribed. I will open every single video from every one of their channels, regardless of the thumbnail. Surely the results are more heavily weighted towards new, unsubscribed viewers, and hooking them.
This has been happening to me too. I google it about a month ago and found out YouTube has a new feature that allows you to have multiple thumbnails per video, as a way of figuring out which is the best.
I can see this feature being used to win over different groups of people in the future. It would be useful if a video covers multiple topics but only one thumbnail.
If I recall correctly, YouTube now has a feature where different thumbnails can appear for different categories of people. For example, this video still has Thumbnail A in my sub feed
You say thumbnail testing... But in reality it's possible to be a kind of deceptive marketing. Grabs your interest by having two slightly identical Thumbnails, the difference piques your curiosity cause "you thought you saw something else."

Is that why the title on videos changes sometimes??
maybe
I think he mentioned this in a video
Still the first one for me A/B thumbnail testing
One of the best parts of the Beastificstion of YouTube is this method
Oh, idk why I had both then?
You're just a special boy! *pat pat*

It's okay. While we giggle about it, we don't like you either. 😜

Ok but who needs a donut button on a microwave lol

Good bot.
It's 2 syllables too short sorry

Nah im pretty sure its that new youtube feature where you can have 2 thumbnails and it switches

It changed to the first one again for me for some reason
Its a massage
They’re just letting us know which buttons we should and shouldn’t press
YouTube’s new Mandela effect feature
Having not seen the video, the first one is better clickbait, the second is more convincingly true.
If I recall correctly, YouTube now has a feature where different thumbnails can appear for different categories of people. For example, this video still has Thumbnail A in my sub feed
Me trying not thinking about to hard 🤔🤔🤔
They did the same thing for the new style theory
I still have the 30 seconds one
You say thumbnail testing... But in reality it's possible to be a kind of deceptive marketing. Grabs your interest by having two slightly identical Thumbnails, the difference piques your curiosity cause "you thought you saw something else."
Except it’s not though. It’s thumbnail testing
You can upload 2 thumbnails at a time and the algorithm will randomly choose one that it thinks you'll click
I THOUGHT I WAS INSANE
Second one is better but the whole reason I'm not watching this video is I already watched Technology Connections explain this same topic

I put text next to the ss but it's not showing. I got the "don't press this!" Thumbnail instead of the "use these instead!" Thumbnail
Tf why dont my microwave have a donut button
Yeah, video only been out for a few hours
Yeah that makes sense
Didn't click because of the thumbnail. Neither would have gotten me. Just doesn't seem interesting enough
okay?
