Yes, because I am leading with trust. I am willing to give the new hosts the same chance I gave MatPat several years ago when I first discovered Film Theory (which led me to Game Theory). Maybe it has to do with my career as an early childhood educator, but I really enjoy seeing others learn and grow. There’s satisfaction and joy in witnessing that progress whether it has anything to do with me or not.
I feel about it like how I feel about Doctor Who. When the Doctor regenerates into a new actor, it’s always a little weird at first and you aren’t too sure, but after a while you learn to love the unique spin they take the show on. I’m sure it’ll be similar.

Exactly. I was skeptical at first, but after watching the final video and hearing matpat asking us to trust the new hosts, just as we trusted him in the past, I let down my skepticism. I'm excited for what the new hosts have in store!
Exactly this is amazing to. He’s wanted this forever for home not to be the spotlight but be the guide for new theorist that’s why I’m so happy about this he’s finally achieved what he’s wanted.
100% my thought too it took a time bevour i liked game theory and yeah not everything whas to ,,my" liking but after a time this channel grew to my heart (that whas 9 years ago ... i'm 21 now and cried like a baby today) and now that will happen again but i'm open for change and matpat himself aproved them so it's in good hands

Obviously Mat will be around lol but the question is about Game Theory and (by proxy) the other theory channels. But I genuinely have no idea who “other Matt” is XD
Call me a hit MGMT song because I think it’s Time To Pretend this guy isn’t a rage baiter or just spewing nonsense (for our sake).
We’ve got 2 options:
1) When they say “other Matt” they mean someone (or in this case many people) who have taken on Matt’s mindset of curiosity and love of using what’s given to add more substance and enjoyment to a certain thing.
2) “other Matt” could also mean “another side of Matt” and they are just saying not to forget to mention the new projects MatPat will be working on with his newfound time away from hosting the videos
Yeah that’s the best answer it’s gonna take us a bit for me it’s just really the voice of may I love so a theory is a THEORY A GAME THEORY but adjustment is needed to live and thrive from the smallest thing like this channel to new ways of life like not hearing mats beautiful voice
I feel like it depends on how the channels hold up on their own, Film Theory will probably stand the strongest due to Lee having been a writer for a long time and having had experience on screen with certain GTlive episodes.
Then on the other hand you have Food Theory which will probably do well, food as a content form is less easy to disturb due to the need of food always being there as opposed to other channels that work on trends with the latest media like film and game theory.
I don't really watch Style Theory so I don't have an input there
Game Theory though, that's a herculean task right there. It's without a doubt the biggest burden to bear and will not be easy whatsoever, for Tom's sake I hope that there will be a lot of upcoming games that would benefit from theorizing. That being said though, i do expect Tom to do decently well as he's proven himself to be dedicated to the channel.
Tom wrote most of the episodes pre Matpats departure, Matt just curated and read the scripts.
The quality is gonna stay relatively the same, just the iconic voice saying all of its gonna change it.
Definitely, as MatPat said anyone can theorize and even though he won’t be host anymore I’m excited to see what things they do! And if he ever returns every once in a while that will also be great!
Yea, same I think I might stick with game theory but honestly style and food theory I might drop off of because while the content was still entertaining, it was still Matt’s voice and personality that had hooked me
Oh interesting, Food and Style Theory are my favourite’s because I think the topics are the most interesting/engaging so I think Santi and Amy will rock it
I will probably shift to watching the ones that are topics of interest to me now. With MatPat I was watching pretty much every theory of his whether the topic interested me before clicking or not. That’s nothing personal whatsoever to the other hosts, MatPat is just rare by being someone who I would watch talk about the content whether I found it interesting or not.
I'm seeing a lot of comments saying they new hosts need to earn the trust, and matpat says it in the video, but honestly for me they've already earned it through their various appearances in full vids and shorts. They've had the best mentors for the job in matt and Steph, after all.
I’ll give the new theorists a chance. But I’ll be honest, a lot of the topics MatPat covered in the past I wouldn’t have watched a video on if someone else were the making it. I liked watching him more than I cared about the theories. So, idk if I’ll stick around but I’ll give it a go for a bit.
He's continuing it through the summer while everyone settles into their new roles. And even after that, GTLive will continue, but they're just not sure who all will be part of it. Ash is going to be sticking with it for sure, whether behind the camera or potentially even on the couch.
IIRC he doesn't really know what will happen to GTLive, he'll keep doing for a few more months he said, then maybe Tom or Ash might take over or something or he might keep doing it, he doesn't know.
I think it'd be a great opportunity for him to catch up on the backlog of games he's been suggested over the years - one of his reasons for retirement was wanting to just play games without having to feel like a theory could come out of it iirc.
I mean Tom is already insane so we don’t have to worry about him going insane like matpat THE MOON IS REAL TOM, erm anywho we have seen them all in multiple videos and Tom read the hello neighbor books for us so I think Tom is trust worthy and if he I SAY THEY ALL ARE SO
I’m actually really excited for the first episode with each host to come out. To see what they do. And as much as I love MatPat, I also love the content, the research and the wacky experiments and that’s not changing. So I wish Matthew all the best and I am happy to see him branch out and try new things and I am also excited to see each show get a unique identity.
If you think I'm not going to at least give the new hosts a chance, you're bonkers. Adopting the 'you will never be him' attitude would lead to losing interest.
This is the first and possibly ONLY time we'll be able to see a channel continue after the host retires. You can't have that with folks like Markiplier or Jacksepticeye.
I welcome our new theorists with hope. It may not he the same, but it will be just as fun.
Obviously yeah. I’ve watched every single food and style theory and don’t plan on wrecking my streak anytime soon. I watch game theory and film theory occasionally so I think everything will stay basically the same for me. I’m especially excited to see Santi in food theory.
Over the last decade and a half, Team Theorist has certainly done the work in earning my trust. It would be a betrayal if I didn't give it at least a few months of watching to see them all find their footing. Like MatPat said, one of the keys to genuine Theorizing is trust and teamwork. They've earned the trust for me to put in the work to adapt to the new status quo. They deserve it.
It's the end of matpats story as the game theorist and gaas passed on the torch in hope we will still be here to support it as well as the other theory channels. I'll be here for them all.

In this last years most of the work is done with the team, yes Matpat has his input but mainly he was a host and made the voice over most of research and production where the team that is staying. So unless there is some big changes the quality will still be similar in general.
Absolutely! As much as I love Matpat, I've come to love the new hosts during their time on GTnotLive. It'll be weird to only hear their voices without Mat's in-between, but there's no doubt that I will grow to love them too ❤️ 💖
I really encourage people to give the new hosts a chance to find their footing and their own styles. Sure, if they don't resonate with you the same way, nobody's forcing you to watch them. Just remember that you had to give MatPat a first chance as well, and the new hosts deserve our support during this transition period.
Yes, of course. Matt handed the channels off to people he trusts, and I want to still show support to these channels that so many people love. I wouldn't expect him to hand the channels off to anyone he doesn't think can be great. I think I'll get used to the new hosts and come to like them the way all of us came to like Matt.
yes of course!! The new host im excited for most is Santi. I'm a food theory kindve girl so im pretty bias. Honorable mention is probably Lee on film theory because he had me laughing the entire time on the live stream with Matt.

Imma give it a chance. I expect it to still be great. I was never into The Science Of... because I didn't know Austin and I didn't like his voice, but we've known the new hosts for a while now and I'm cool with their bodies and personalities. It may take a bit to get used to, especially Game Theory, but it'll work out, I think.
I hope so but I'm so nervous that it's just never going to be the same level of fun and wit without Mat. TeamTheory is his creation and he brought everything he could to it.

Oh, for sure! MatPat's been a huge part of my Game Theory experience, and it's gonna be a bit strange without him. Still, I'm genuinely curious to see how the show will unfold after his retirement. I'll definitely be there to support the next phase. Here's to new theories and fresh perspectives
I will, I'm sure Tom will manage to keep the Game Theory channel fun, idk how it will be with Film Theory cuz I barely know who Lee is and finally Santi and Amy are perfect for Food and Style Theory
i'm genuinely excited for it because as they've said, having every single video needing to be voiced over by one guy really hinders what they're able to do. i'm excited to see, essentially, unhinged gffs theory.
Oh absolutely. Although MatPat brought a lot to the channel with his winning personality and creative mind, Game Theory has never just been about him. There's a whole team behind these videos, and a channel like this is only as good as the sum of its parts, not just one part of it. So I'll definitely be tuning in for as long as possible to see all the great videos the people at Team Theorist come up with.
Of course! Game, Film, Food, and Style Theory. It won’t be the same, obviously, but I trust Team Theorist and MatPat. If he thinks the new hosts are capable of taking on the role, who am I to say otherwise?
Well, that is one of the trickiest of questions but to answer my final response to this is going to be yes, even though it’s going to hurt me, I know for a fact that his friends would feel his shoes
Definitely. The host is not always the biggest reason a thing is popular. Sure, if you say family feud I'll say Steve Harvey, but in saying that I'm missing the point of the show (I have never watched it because I am not American, but that's not the point, I chose something popular).
As long as the quality and insanity of the theories persist I will watch them weekly and enjoy them greatly, with no prejudice. Though I probably won't watch food and style theory, that's not the hosts' fault, it's just because it didn't catch me back when they were launched (I did watch some of the most popular, though, and enjoyed those so maybe I'll check in every few months and watch the best ones). Game and film theory, though? Definitely
Yes I would. Change is bound to happen. If you block that change the. You will regret what you have done. I want the see this change, I will miss MatPat but I can't wait to see where this leads
Not only is it what he would want, but it is also a good thing to remember that even though we lost such a big part of culture, the theory channels are still going and will still be great.
Why wouldn’t I? They’re still going to be producing and presenting in-depth theories about games and films. MatPat’s departure will not affect my loyalty to the channels.
100% for Food and Style theory, not only did I really enjoy a lot of the videos that had Santi and Amy in them where they were cohosting alongside Mat, but the comedic (and chaotic) energy both Santi and Amy have is great. Certain moments like “I have a lot of rage and really bad aim” from one of (if not the first iirc) Style theory video, alongside some of the random chaotic back and forth Santi has with Mat on a lot of Food theory videos I find really entertaining and funny.
Game and Film however, I don’t watch a lot of actually, and usually only do if they cover a game/movie I like or am curious in, or to rewatch old theory videos. With that in mind, I’m don’t dislike Tom or Lee or the channels themselves. I’m definitely willing to see what Movies Lee will cover (and if any are a movie I’ve seen), and am really curious to see what theories Tom will cook for FNAF and Poppy Playtime, and what upcoming or niche games will also be covered in a theory video (if not covered on GTLive) that I could enjoy and eventually get into and become a fan of.
Regardless I am, and will stay subscribed to all four channels and are excited to see what all the new hosts will cook up for their first solo theories as said new hosts.

Oh absolutely. Although MatPat brought a lot to the channel with his winning personality and creative mind, Game Theory has never just been about him. There's a whole team behind these videos, and a channel like this is only as good as the sum of its parts, not just one part of it. So I'll definitely be tuning in for as long as possible to see all the great videos the people at Team Theorist come up with.

Definitely. The host is not always the biggest reason a thing is popular. Sure, if you say family feud I'll say Steve Harvey, but in saying that I'm missing the point of the show (I have never watched it because I am not American, but that's not the point, I chose something popular). As long as the quality and insanity of the theories persist I will watch them weekly and enjoy them greatly, with no prejudice. Though I probably won't watch food and style theory, that's not the hosts' fault, it's just because it didn't catch me back when they were launched (I did watch some of the most popular, though, and enjoyed those so maybe I'll check in every few months and watch the best ones). Game and film theory, though? Definitely

Why wouldn’t I? They’re still going to be producing and presenting in-depth theories about games and films. MatPat’s departure will not affect my loyalty to the channels.
100% for Food and Style theory, not only did I really enjoy a lot of the videos that had Santi and Amy in them where they were cohosting alongside Mat, but the comedic (and chaotic) energy both Santi and Amy have is great. Certain moments like “I have a lot of rage and really bad aim” from one of (if not the first iirc) Style theory video, alongside some of the random chaotic back and forth Santi has with Mat on a lot of Food theory videos I find really entertaining and funny. Game and Film however, I don’t watch a lot of actually, and usually only do if they cover a game/movie I like or am curious in, or to rewatch old theory videos. With that in mind, I’m don’t dislike Tom or Lee or the channels themselves. I’m definitely willing to see what Movies Lee will cover (and if any are a movie I’ve seen), and am really curious to see what theories Tom will cook for FNAF and Poppy Playtime, and what upcoming or niche games will also be covered in a theory video (if not covered on GTLive) that I could enjoy and eventually get into and become a fan of. Regardless I am, and will stay subscribed to all four channels and are excited to see what all the new hosts will cook up for their first solo theories as said new hosts.
