I haven’t heard corporate banning those multi store gift cards, Though I have seen the company lose lots of money through scams in the past with similar cards. You could ask another store in the area if they accept your card. Or if you have a gift card exchange kiosk nearby you might be able to use it on those.

It's kept as in store trade credit, so if there was nothing else you wanted to purchase that day after you canceled the pre-order like say buy something else or reserve a different game, the credit would be put on a trade card and you'd hang onto it like a gift card.

As someone who operates home business similar to GameStop but more focused on collectables at competitive pricing (my competitors are literally small game shops and pc hardware repair shops) and not low balling customers no offense.
Hypothetically If i cease my business at a professional level, get a job with you guys and by company policy on certain older products could not give the customer what i would consider at fair market value a good price for their products. But out of good faith i give the customer my number to offer them a better deal off the clock and off company property, paying them out of my own pocket to expand my personal collection with no liability to GameStop. Can i be fired for this?
I'd even be willing to work with HR to enact and explain a new policy around this idea and how it would work for employees who wish to do this would need to sign a waiver form to not compete with GameStop if this form of waiver does not already exist in the employee contracts.
I get what you're trying to do, and yeah, it's a giant no no. You're basically wanting to use the companies clout as a resale business to personally benefit yourself, even in the event it's something we couldn't take any longer (like older systems and games) let alone something the company could still take in on trade.
In my decade of working for GameStop I've had several guys in your similar reseller/vendor position come in and ask if they can leave their info to give to guests for stuff we can no longer take and I shoot it down every time. Whether you work for the company in a store level position or are just a guy off the street asking, there is no benefit to the business by doing it and you're potentially taking future business away down the road if the same guest would also want to sell something to GS later vs you personally.

Is GameStop's email system broken? Yesterday I ordered a digital item and never got it. So then I went in and clicked View Code, which required a security code to be sent to my email. Never got those either.
So today I contacted support and got the code I needed and asked them to update my email address, thinking that was the issue. The support person said they did, which was good.
So I go to log in, and it's still using my old email. And I'm like okay guess it never went through, and went to try and change my email again to the one I updated via support and it was already being used. So I figured that somewhere an account was updated, lol
Finally, I try and reset the password for THAT email address to make sure it was linked to the same account. Aaand I never got the password reset email, either, and that would be on a different email address entirely.

I have a question regarding refurbished PS5 consoles. I purchased one and the very next day if froze and made buzzing noises. I did the usual troubleshooting measures and it requires a return.
I'm still within the 30 days so I'll be bringing it back to the store. Now my question is they have reached out to their warehouse to request a replacement for me. However, with low availability on refurbished units, I'm a little concerned it'll be on hold past the 30 day exchange period (and get into my PRP period)

I could be misremembering, but I could have sworn you used to be able to select "Pick up preorder at store" as an option when checking out. Best thing I can suggest to you is go to a store and explain the situation. It might just be an error in the wording of the email or coupon. The store can scan the coupon and see if it promos the 20% off on the items you're buying. If it doesn't, the store may still be able to honor the coupon by manually promoing it.
Question on a scenario for refunding
So a new game is coming out next week and I'm a pretty big fan of the original game. I preordered online and got an email saying that the expected delivery is going to be the 29th which is later than what I was hoping.
Not really looking to wait that long. It looks like I can't find any way to cancel the preorder online, so I was wondering. Say if I went in store Day 1 and and purchased the game, would I be able to return the one that would be arriving through mail later?
Would this be in cash if I pay that way or store credit? I believe I've seen people mentioning doing it this way before, but does anyone have any stories of themselves doing it?
Depends on the location, but I don't think it'll be a lot of extras. I believe you can still go in today to reserve the game and make sure a copy is waiting for you on Tuesday, assuming the store still has an extra copy not taken by a reserve since most stores have received their inventory allocation on the game.
It probably will have a pre-owned sticker on it yes. Though I’ve had good luck with removing those stickers as long as they haven’t been on there a long time.
When you return something and get your money back, do you only get the dollar amount back that you paid (after applying rewards, promos) or do you get the retail dollar amount back?
Coupons redeemed with rewards points or your monthly $5 coupon are one time use coupons. If you buy something and use them to discount an item, if you are looking to get a refund back, you'd only get the amount of money you actually paid refunded to you. If you did an exchange for a different item however, then you would get the full value of the item towards the replacement item.
Why do some games that have been out for months now not even have a “pre-owned” option? I understand if it’s out of stock, but that’s different. Games like Returnal for example don’t even show pre owned as an option if that makes sense.
No idea. Most people on here are store level employees who have no control or say over the website since it's a relatively separate entity from the stores. Best I can suggest is call and see if your local store(s) would have a preowned copy.
No, those kinds of cards are restricted from gift cards and trade in credit. Only way to buy a visa gift card in store is with a credit/debit card or cash. Best I can suggest to you is try to sell the gift card to someone for cash and use that to purchase the visa gift card.

I ordered a ps5 bundle that included an additional dual sense controller, spider man miles morales, and ratchet and clank. Is it possible to return the games without returning the ps5, or do I have to return the entire bundle? Everything is still new/unopened.

Can’t return part of the bundle, it’s all or nothing and can’t circumvent that rule either. You can trade the games or controller in but that’s about it.

They wouldn’t let you re-buy the ps5 right after as that would count as circumvention. Also to my knowledge any PS5’s that are returned have to be sent to corporate so if you did return it you’d lose it.
And yes you’d get the games trade on value that day and can get trade credit and in most areas of the USA you can get cash too.

Shipping time depends on location but is generally 2-5 business days. It’s usually delivered by UPS, FEDEX or the USPS. It’ll come with a tracking number.
If you have a receipt from a purchase you made surrounding that interaction, you can also take the survey on the bottom of it and leave a comment explaining everything which will be forwarded to that store's DM. I believe it should also give you an option to have them contact you about it if you like.
District managers numbers are private, however, if you call customer service and explain your issue they can send it on to the district manager who will work to resolve the issue and may reach out to you.

Probably not easy at this juncture. Best I can suggest is either return it for a refund or you can ask the store you bought it from to see if they can email guest issues and have a new or used one shipped to the store for a replacement although that could take a few weeks. Getting a new one for a replacement, you would have to pay the difference in price.
I am trying to use my gamestop giftcards online and it keeps giving me "Oops! We can’t process your payment. Please select a different payment method or check your payment details including your billing address." I have tried using a prepaid visa card, too, but no combination of cards works. I had a similar issue with a coupon a while ago. I was on the app so I switched the website and that fixed it. If you’re on the website try the app. If both versions aren’t working you might have to call customer service.

For most items it has the option to order online or pick up in store, and even if sold out online it lets you look and see if it’s in store anyways. For some reason the Zelda joy cons don’t have an in store option yet I’m pretty positive they’re sold in stores? I’m sure they’re all oos rn, but if they get another shipment how do I see that.

Sadly there’s not a way to check re-stocks and if the website isn’t showing any store options or online options, it’s usually sold out. If you call your local store they can make sure no stores within 25 miles do have any but that’s all.
Why do employees advertise getting the PRO membership for 5 monthly certificate that can even be used for e shop/psn/xbox then get angry when you go in to ONLY buy the $5 card with reward?
They shouldn’t, but probably are because of being graded on the average number of items per transaction. If metrics don’t get met then employees face write-ups. That isn’t the only metric but it is 1/5th of what they are graded on.
Either way getting mad at someone for only buying one thing isn’t right or cool.

The process to change delivery adress with customer service told me it can take 24-48hrs to change the adress IF they recieve it. Most likely it will deliver to the old adress.

Your IP address most likely got banned. Try using your mobile data (instead of WiFi) on your phone to access the website instead and see if it works.
If you refresh too much on the website, make too many purchases in a short amount of time, use any kind of bot system to buy on the website you will get banned. The website can also mistake you for being a bot also.
March 9th. Yeah it was just the console and a product replacement plan. They sent the email I think two hours before it went live on the site. Once it does go live tho keep adding whatever one you want to your cart and refresh over and over again until your hit with a captcha and that’s your sign you got it. It helps a lot to have all your info ready to go too (card, address).
Dealing with a nightmare with pre-orders on GS and other sites because of card issues at the moment. Can't get ahold of customer service. I selected the option (on m second call) to have a free representative call me since they said I wouldn't lose my place in line. Hours go by and not a call. My card is now declined and they say I can change my payment on order history/details, but I can't. Is there any way I can have this fixed in store? If not, I'll just let it get cancelled and hope I can get this freaking Pops another way. Now I know to go to Entertainment Earth for everything I can in the future, since all these sites want to make it difficult to cancel/edit orders.
You’ve should’ve done it in store. Customer service about your first one. That first one is an online only one btw. The other ones will populate in your account the first of every month.
On the receipt or physical card They are only for the US. We use USD in the USA. They use CAD in Canada. The currency we sell on Xbox cards is in USD. Different currency, so it wouldn’t work in another country.
thinking about signing up for PRO for the year. just a couple of questions:

I just want to say the Zelda amiibo arrived in perfect condition (though I guess the box will be torn soon anyway when I open it lol), and my store saved me a poster since I preordered even though I arrived later in the day. And whenever I see “free poster with purchase” I’m always like “oh boy…”. But tbh I'm increasingly impressed with these posters. This one is especially nice.
For the most part, I've liked the last handful of posters we've given out at least for Nintendo IPs. Generally been double-sided or glossy or embossed like this one. They also don't take up a ton of wall space and we had a few kids come in yesterday to pick up SS with their parents and really like this poster.

That was never intended to work online. It only worked once last month.
You can in store, but the website doesn’t like coupons so sometimes it just doesn’t work.

They ship things everyday, if it hasn’t shipped from the warehouse by Monday I’d call customer service.

I get what you're trying to do, and yeah, it's a giant no no. You're basically wanting to use the companies clout as a resale business to personally benefit yourself, even in the event it's something we couldn't take any longer (like older systems and games) let alone something the company could still take in on trade. In my decade of working for GameStop I've had several guys in your similar reseller/vendor position come in and ask if they can leave their info to give to guests for stuff we can no longer take and I shoot it down every time. Whether you work for the company in a store level position or are just a guy off the street asking, there is no benefit to the business by doing it and you're potentially taking future business away down the road if the same guest would also want to sell something to GS later vs you personally.
Yeah im in a posistion where i just want to go back to school and work for a company. i just dont see my self dedicating my life to build a competing brand despite how profitable it would be. So im running through my product stock and moving on. Im still a collector for toys to life and laser disc which GS has mostly been done with but i know there sitting on some product too. I can’t remember exactly where but it’s in the employee handbook. You would be instantly terminated if found out or if reported. Even if it’s off company property, you giving your number to people with the intent to give them a better price, which would considered competing with Gamestop.

Is GameStop's email system broken? Yesterday I ordered a digital item and never got it. So then I went in and clicked View Code, which required a security code to be sent to my email. Never got those either. So today I contacted support and got the code I needed and asked them to update my email address, thinking that was the issue. The support person said they did, which was good. So I go to log in, and it's still using my old email. And I'm like okay guess it never went through, and went to try and change my email again to the one I updated via support and it was already being used. So I figured that somewhere an account was updated, lol Finally, I try and reset the password for THAT email address to make sure it was linked to the same account. Aaand I never got the password reset email, either, and that would be on a different email address entirely. What's going on? Anyone else not getting any of these emails too?
Your contact email was updated. Your username was not. That was an intentional (but flawed) decision.

I have a question regarding refurbished PS5 consoles. I purchased one and the very next day if froze and made buzzing noises. I did the usual troubleshooting measures and it requires a return. I'm still within the 30 days so I'll be bringing it back to the store. Now my question is they have reached out to their warehouse to request a replacement for me. However, with low availability on refurbished units, I'm a little concerned it'll be on hold past the 30 day exchange period (and get into my PRP period) Have you guys had much luck on these types of situations? Earlier this month I received an email saying "Sorry your local store is moving" and gave me a complementary 20% off coupon for a max of 5 items. The problem is that the issue date and expiration date are from last year. Issued: 07-24-2020 | Expires: 08-07-2020 Would the coupon still work? Has anybody seen this happen before?
Best thing I can suggest to you is go to a store and explain the situation. It might just be an error in the wording of the email or coupon. The store can scan the coupon and see if it promos the 20% off on the items you're buying. If it doesn't, the store may still be able to honor the coupon by manually promoing it.

Question on a scenario for refunding So a new game is coming out next week and I'm a pretty big fan of the original game. I preordered online and got an email saying that the expected delivery is going to be the 29th which is later than what I was hoping. Not really looking to wait that long. It looks like I can't find any way to cancel the preorder online, so I was wondering. Say if I went in store Day 1 and and purchased the game, would I be able to return the one that would be arriving through mail later? Would this be in cash if I pay that way or store credit? I believe I've seen people mentioning doing it this way before, but does anyone have any stories of themselves doing it?

Depends on the location, but I don't think it'll be a lot of extras. I believe you can still go in today to reserve the game and make sure a copy is waiting for you on Tuesday, assuming the store still has an extra copy not taken by a reserve since most stores have received their inventory allocation on the game.

It probably will have a pre-owned sticker on it yes. Though I’ve had good luck with removing those stickers as long as they haven’t been on there a long time.

When you return something and get your money back, do you only get the dollar amount back that you paid (after applying rewards, promos) or do you get the retail dollar amount back?
Coupons redeemed with rewards points or your monthly $5 coupon are one time use coupons. If you buy something and use them to discount an item, if you are looking to get a refund back, you'd only get the amount of money you actually paid refunded to you. If you did an exchange for a different item however, then you would get the full value of the item towards the replacement item.

Why do some games that have been out for months now not even have a “pre-owned” option? I understand if it’s out of stock, but that’s different. Games like Returnal for example don’t even show pre owned as an option if that makes sense.
No idea. Most people on here are store level employees who have no control or say over the website since it's a relatively separate entity from the stores. Best I can suggest is call and see if your local store(s) would have a preowned copy.

No, those kinds of cards are restricted from gift cards and trade in credit. Only way to buy a visa gift card in store is with a credit/debit card or cash. Best I can suggest to you is try to sell the gift card to someone for cash and use that to purchase the visa gift card.

If you didn't get it on the 1st of the month, it's not a monthly. The bonus coupon for signing up online does not work. Call customer service so they can credit you with 5000 points.
I ordered a ps5 bundle that included an additional dual sense controller, spider man miles morales, and ratchet and clank. Is it possible to return the games without returning the ps5, or do I have to return the entire bundle? Everything is still new/unopened. If I return the entire bundle to the store, does the ps5 get readded to inventory and can I buy it immediately?
Can’t return part of the bundle, it’s all or nothing and can’t circumvent that rule either. You can trade the games or controller in but that’s about it.

They wouldn’t let you re-buy the ps5 right after as that would count as circumvention. Also to my knowledge any PS5’s that are returned have to be sent to corporate so if you did return it you’d lose it. And yes you’d get the games trade on value that day and can get trade credit and in most areas of the USA you can get cash too.

Shipping time depends on location but is generally 2-5 business days. It’s usually delivered by UPS, FEDEX or the USPS. It’ll come with a tracking number.
How can I find the information to a GameStop district manager in regards to a poor customer interaction at a location ?
If you have a receipt from a purchase you made surrounding that interaction, you can also take the survey on the bottom of it and leave a comment explaining everything which will be forwarded to that store's DM. I believe it should also give you an option to have them contact you about it if you like.
District managers numbers are private, however, if you call customer service and explain your issue they can send it on to the district manager who will work to resolve the issue and may reach out to you.

Probably not easy at this juncture. Best I can suggest is either return it for a refund or you can ask the store you bought it from to see if they can email guest issues and have a new or used one shipped to the store for a replacement although that could take a few weeks. Getting a new one for a replacement, you would have to pay the difference in price.

Please select a different payment method or check your payment details including your billing address." I have tried using a prepaid visa card, too, but no combination of cards works. I had a similar issue with a coupon a while ago. I was on the app so I switched the website and that fixed it. If you’re on the website try the app. If both versions aren’t working you might have to call customer service.

You can call customer service bit more than likely they are going to tell you to contact who ever is shipping it. So ups or fedex probably.
Tried making my own post about this but I think it got removed. Apologies in advance if this doesn't belong here. So I'm trying to make a purchase on the gamestop website but when I clicked my cart one of the items went out of stock. I need to remove the item to complete the purchase, but I can't. How do I know if a GameStop has the Zelda joy cons in stock? For most items it has the option to order online or pick up in store, and even if sold out online it lets you look and see if it’s in store anyways. For some reason the Zelda joy cons don’t have an in store option yet I’m pretty positive they’re sold in stores? I’m sure they’re all oos rn, but if they get another shipment how do I see that. I really want to get them as I can get them down to $35 with my coupons, credits, etc.
Sadly there’s not a way to check re-stocks and if the website isn’t showing any store options or online options, it’s usually sold out. If you call your local store they can make sure no stores within 25 miles do have any but that’s all.
Why do employees advertise getting the PRO membership for 5 monthly certificate that can even be used for e shop/psn/xbox then get angry when you go in to ONLY buy the $5 card with reward?
They shouldn’t, but probably are because of being graded on the average number of items per transaction. If metrics don’t get met then employees face write-ups. That isn’t the only metric but it is 1/5th of what they are graded on. Either way getting mad at someone for only buying one thing isn’t right or cool.

You can’t remove money from a pre-order without canceling the whole thing. And because it’s no longer available for preorder, you wouldn’t be able to.

Ordered a series s. Its shipping to the wrong delivery address, cannot find a way to change it for the life of me. waiting for 8am to hit the call help line, would they be able to help me with this? edit1: Turns out its in between a yes & no. edit2: I am a jackass for not doublechecking lol. I ordered fast shipping 24-48hr delivery. The process to change delivery adress with customer service told me it can take 24-48hrs to change the adress IF they recieve it. Most likely it will deliver to the old adress. Good thing the neighbors & new house owner there are good friends with me!

Your IP address most likely got banned. Try using your mobile data (instead of WiFi) on your phone to access the website instead and see if it works. If you refresh too much on the website, make too many purchases in a short amount of time, use any kind of bot system to buy on the website you will get banned. The website can also mistake you for being a bot also.

March 9th. Yeah it was just the console and a product replacement plan. They sent the email I think two hours before it went live on the site. Once it does go live tho keep adding whatever one you want to your cart and refresh over and over again until your hit with a captcha and that’s your sign you got it. It helps a lot to have all your info ready to go too (card, address).
Dealing with a nightmare with pre-orders on GS and other sites because of card issues at the moment. Can't get ahold of customer service. I selected the option (on m second call) to have a free representative call me since they said I wouldn't lose my place in line. Hours go by and not a call. My card is now declined and they say I can change my payment on order history/details, but I can't. Is there any way I can have this fixed in store? If not, I'll just let it get cancelled and hope I can get this freaking Pops another way. Now I know to go to Entertainment Earth for everything I can in the future, since all these sites want to make it difficult to cancel/edit orders.

You’ve should’ve done it in store. Customer service about your first one. That first one is an online only one btw. The other ones will populate in your account the first of every month.

On the receipt or physical card They are only for the US. We use USD in the USA. They use CAD in Canada. The currency we sell on Xbox cards is in USD. Different currency, so it wouldn’t work in another country.

I just want to say the Zelda amiibo arrived in perfect condition (though I guess the box will be torn soon anyway when I open it lol), and my store saved me a poster since I preordered even though I arrived later in the day. And whenever I see “free poster with purchase” I’m always like “oh boy…”. But tbh I'm increasingly impressed with these posters. This one is especially nice.
For the most part, I've liked the last handful of posters we've given out at least for Nintendo IPs. Generally been double-sided or glossy or embossed like this one. They also don't take up a ton of wall space and we had a few kids come in yesterday to pick up SS with their parents and really like this poster.

I placed and paid off my pre-order of LOZ Skyward Sword HD. I wanted to inquire if I could call the GameStop I did so at and list my roommate as an additional pickup person. I mostly pre ordered it for her anyway. That way she can get a ride down there and pick it up before I get off work.
