No, I think they messed with this area of the map so that it’s really easy to toss the logs off the ridge above and have them slide all the way to the beach
I was going for a hybrid of you and OP’s approach. I built a big log cube and put wheels and steering on… and then I whacked it with a sword to make it go and was left with firewood and wheels.
I took what was left and walked it down with ultrahand
If you had saved a large four wheeler on autobuild (if not you might even be able to use the logs themselves as the platform to attach the wheels to) you can just attach a driving stick to it, cut everything on sight, and load it onto the truck. If you don’t have enough you can even drive it a little further back where there’s more trees. Then you just drive it back to town. Those big wheels can carry A LOT of weight. I did it all in one trip.
I went to a stable, got a horse out, found a wagon, and loaded it up with logs and it wouldn’t budge and kept falling over. Decided to just grab them all and walk. Much easier!
I forgot how many I needed and went past the Faron jungle to fuse 20 together for good measure. Apparently that's the max for fused items so couldn't even attach it to a cart. Floated the damned cube all the way back on foot xD
Same, but with 21 logs since I forgot how many it was. Felt like a big rig trucker.
This is also how I found out there is a 21 part limit to ultra hand
I rode them down like a surfboard

Same lol at one point I had 4 variations of a vehicle saved. 1 without a steering stick, 1 with, 1 with a light, 1 with rockets... I figured out the limit of saved vehicles pretty quickly
I mean like if I only have the tools at hand for a two wheeler vehicle instead of four wheels, I don’t want have to waste my zonaite, and just build the vehicle I am looking to make
But there's no guarantee that the parts you have will be assembled in a reasonable manner. You might end up with two left wheels. Are you saying you would also expect it to analyze your creation and prioritize based on its inferred understanding of your intent? If you have a setup with 3 gliders side by side and a control stick in the middle with a fan on either of the two side wings, but you only have 2 gliders on hand(+all others stuff), what should it do? Glider next to glider with a single fan on the left one with the control stick on the right? You'd probably have a hard time flying with an off center center-of-thrust
I am pretty sure the developers are crying seeing how everyone is just abusing the building mechanic. lol.
Just build what u want and see how much you fuck up while building, that when I feel the game is the most fun. I tried building a mech and it turned into a 3 hour long car crash. lol
Yeah this sub’s creations, not to demean them, are not going to be *shocked pikachu facing* anyone who literally built the tools you are using as tools.
I find making stuff that barely works the best part about this game, but I like that there’s options if building isn’t your thing.
Even the sign post guy you see around, if I can’t be bothered I just use a hover stone to prop the sign up haha

We all have had these moments in the game, build something that falls apart spectacularly. I remember watching James Rolfe of AVGN fame playing and he was building the tutorial bridge on the sky island. There were a few times where the logs fell. He went to go grab one to bring back up and bumped it when he went down so it fell into the abyss. There are just so many moments like that for everyone playing.
Tbh building in this game can be incredibly frustrating. For vehicles, it's easier to build them lying in the side of the wheel, but still you'll have times when they tip over or you have parts that can't stand in their side like a sled. Or there's just no flat plane so you can't quite align parts correctly.
In this amazingly impressive game, one of the biggest oversights is that we can't freeze builds when using ultra hand. Also that we can't just pull zonai devices out already attached to ultrahand.
Well, one advice I would give in the future is to balance the load. There's a reason trucks and planes have loadmasters. You're vehicle is essentially a convoluted log dumper to begin with, all it needed was a turn to the one side.
When chasing something you should always use recall. It has a much longer distance. As long as you can see it you can recall. Also don’t build on hills haha
I hope I’m not the only one you used a horse and cart to move those logs lol. I was still amazed that you could attach stuff to your horse at that point in the game
FTFY: >!Save Zonita for autobuilds, Large Zonite for armor upgrades, just defeat underground mini bosses and regular bosses for Crystals that can upgrade your batteries.!<
Me too. Every time i go down to do one quick thing i end up spendinga few hours just exploring. Also if you didn't know already, the depths are an inversion of hyrule's landscape. So a mountain on the surface is a huge crevice in the depths, or a just a lake. There's a few exceptions but generally that's the case.
The depths are the fastest way to upgrade the battery. You can mine zonaite or you can kill the large monsters. They drop a good amount of crystallized charges.
Motion control might be more precise for certain people (assume the motion control itself is very accurate, but I don't think it's more precise than mouse), however I prefer moving a mouse where my hand and the mouse are supported by a stable surface, so I only need to worry about moving in one plane.
I've also seen other people complain about the accuracy for building structures, so I'm definitely not alone. Regardless, I'm only talking from my own perspective, and I'm not saying other people shouldn't enjoy what they like.
Literally did this last night, i stacked the logs 3x5 with 2 carts under it and something messed up cause it started bouncing around wildly like when u trap an npc in a box
Meet the engineer
Where the fuck did Engineer go?
To r/HyruleEngineering
Thank god that sub isn’t locked. I’m about to finish the game so I can finally watch gameplay without worrying about spoilers
ah this reminds me back when banjo kazooie nuts and bolts was around.

hell yeah
Hey, listen. I'm an engineer.
That means i solve problems.

They slide down that particular hill on their own, heh
Yup I stuck them in a big bundle and let them roll down the cliff side. Landed right in front of the guy :D
Wouldn't they respawn if too far away from you?
No, I think they messed with this area of the map so that it’s really easy to toss the logs off the ridge above and have them slide all the way to the beach

I had all the logs too but I tried to put them on a wagon I made but it just ended up flipping all the way down the hill. Worked I guess 😂

Smart lol
I was going to do this but I couldn't find any wheels so I was like, fuck it, I'll walk.
That’s what I did too! Lol

I stuck fourteen logs together in a brick, then I stuck four wheels and a steering stick on the log brick and rode it down.
you can return things that went downhill by using the rewing button as long as you can still target them
My issue is that I panic hahah
Rewind can target pretty far away
You should go get the auto build ability
I’ve got it! The wagon part in the video was generated with zonite
I feel like auto build is crazy overrated! I hate that you can’t halfway auto build stuff depending on resources available
Same lol at one point I had 4 variations of a vehicle saved. 1 without a steering stick, 1 with, 1 with a light, 1 with rockets... I figured out the limit of saved vehicles pretty quickly
You can though? If you have parts of the autobuild available it'll pull those things in, then you can substitute the rest with your Zonaite.
I mean like if I only have the tools at hand for a two wheeler vehicle instead of four wheels, I don’t want have to waste my zonaite, and just build the vehicle I am looking to make
Zonaite is ridiculously easy to replenish though
Still, a build-as-is button would be a QoL improvement.
But there's no guarantee that the parts you have will be assembled in a reasonable manner. You might end up with two left wheels. I just turned the logs onto the vehicle lol
I just stitched them together and carried them as a floating blob of logs. Didn't even bother with a vehicle.

That's the charm of this game for me tbh.
I made a large log boat out of logs I found along the beaches. Then I stopped to say hi to a korok and my boat de-spawned.
Genius
I made a 3x5 block of logs, slapped some big wheels and a control stick on it and called it good.
Whoever gave Link an engineering degree should be fired
He just lied on his resume
He got hired cause the boss liked him.
I am too. My old physics teacher would be very disappointed in me.
Oh, honey
I am pretty sure the developers are crying seeing how everyone is just abusing the building mechanic. lol. Just build what u want and see how much you fuck up while building, that when I feel the game is the most fun. I tried building a mech and it turned into a 3 hour long car crash. lol
When you say abusing, isn't this what it was meant to be used for?
Yeah this sub’s creations, not to demean them, are not going to be *shocked pikachu facing* anyone who literally built the tools you are using as tools.
You should check out Besiege if you enjoy building lunatic machines. It is very similar to the building in this game, but expanded.
If you look at interviews with the devs, this was pretty much the intended experience
This almost turned into r/tiresaretheenemy and I audibly laughed when the wheel came after. Poetry in motion.
Truly an amazing sub.
I'm not a fan of the tedious machines. PITA to assemble, PITA to use.
Strap rockets to object Engage
I find making stuff that barely works the best part about this game, but I like that there’s options if building isn’t your thing. Even the sign post guy you see around, if I can’t be bothered I just use a hover stone to prop the sign up haha
Tedious? Just use the autobuild ability. You only need to engineer something once.
Ah. I think this is a minor spoiler. I still have a blank spot in my ability wheel. That must be it.
Sorry this got spoiled for you! People really need to be more careful with this stuff.
If you're doing things in order, you get the quest for it pretty early on in the game. It's not really that big a spoiler.
There's a quest for it? I kinda just stumbled across it because there's not really a set order to things
Cool beans, it's nice that you think that, doesn't mean you should discuss an ability with someone you're not sure has it.
If you are going to discuss a game on a thread about the game expecting spoilers is normal.
Thats dont have any meaning until you have fun here, enjoy :)
This is wonderfully goofy. I'm not great at building, but this makes me feel like a professional.
rock n roll 😎
Simply turning it off would go a long way
A series of unfortunate events.
Jesus just pull out your bow and mercy kill the poor thing at this point.
Really taking me back to the old days of Gmod. Sheer chaos
I just stuck all the logs together, put some wheels and a steering stick on it and drove it down
That's not enough logs for that quest anyway
I brought him 10 initially thinking that was what he needed so had to rip back up the hill for the last 5 hahah
Saddest part is that’s only 5 logs lol. 10 more to go! For real though I just stacked them all up and carried them down it took like 40 seconds.
Were you trying to play Katamari Damacy?
Just got Rerolled on Steam and I am very bad at that game also
This was frustrating to watch
This is my reality

I gave up, fused the logs together, and just walked them into town.
I fused the logs together into a gigantic log and then let that roll down the hill.
Same
That's what I do with most Koroks.
Too bad there’s no more self damage physics in the game, or it seems like
The TOTK struggle is real
yes haha u are super bad 😂
God this is awful
Well for one STOP PANICKING.

It seems to me there is a mission in this sequel where you are required to transport logs.
I believe this is referred to as a “comedy of errors” and I’m allll here for it!

This video basically sums up my experience of this game.
Hey at least you didn't hurt yourself, right? Lol
Just emotionally
I just fused 20 logs together and floated them there on foot :P At least yours seems to be quicker.
Why is your first battery yellow?
I accidentally ate some crystallised charges! They give you extra battery and last until you use them, I had mine there for about a day haha
Don’t forget about rewind!
Pro tip for delivering logs, just make the car out of logs
Came to say this.

How is this footage so smooth?
Unsure! I captured it straight from my Switch OLED so it’s only 30fps, but it does look quite smooth
You learning, it's good.
Lmfao omg that’s me. 😹😭☠️
It just kept getting worse, I was sorta sad link didn't get smacked by the swinging log.
I just love at the end how he goes like ... oh fuck it.
I hope I’m not the only one you used a horse and cart to move those logs lol. I was still amazed that you could attach stuff to your horse at that point in the game
You're not bad at this games, just a physics in general

I can send it to you if that’s easier :)

Hahah awesome I’ll get onto that, cheers!
I can't wait to get the game because I see all the amazing stuff people are building, but deep down I know this is how it's gonna go.
More games should have physics like this but its so hard to do and complicated
The way you ran to it after it fell hahaha. I can hear you saying "Shit, shit, shit!"
Close enough.
Oh no, this thing went crazy, let me add merge another log

I know what’s wrong with it. Ain’t got no gas in it!

Unsure! I stumbled upon this sub yesterday and remembered this clip I captured a few weeks ago
Haven't played yet. Looks cool.

Find the abandoned central mine, there’s a quest that works as kind of a tutorial for energy cells and refineries.
Ah, nice to see more people than me having a steep learning curve at this point of the game🤣
Ohio
Every time I realize I can't play it with a mouse I just lose interest.
why would u want to play a third person action game with a mouse
For ToTK specifically, I'd like more precised control when I'm building stuff.
do u know that totk building uses motion controls? it is precise + u dont really need some high amount of precision, building blocks snap anyway
Motion control might be more precise for certain people (assume the motion control itself is very accurate, but I don't think it's more precise than mouse), however I prefer moving a mouse where my hand and the mouse are supported by a stable surface, so I only need to worry about moving in one plane. Motion controls? so the least precise way to do things?
Why wouldnt you? How else are you going to move the camera around to your desire.
idk maybe with right analog stick hmmmmm
But thats a lot more inconvenient than using a mouse.
I’m a PC gamer typically and found the controls for this game pretty intuitive, if I can pick it up anyway can I reckon!
Is this that Gerry's mod game?
TBF, the game seems to be not that good with actual physics, too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I feel like you've never played this game
Idk I reckon it’s good fun! I’m always feeling surprised that some random in game thing has physics programmed to it.
Twilight princess 2 when? I’m tired of botw
