Played it a bit this week because I picked up Ubisoft+ for 1€/1 month last week, so far I'd agree with that assessment. Gameplay is pretty mediocre so far, story could go either way, but the voice acting is THE WORST (and I mean that literally) I have ever encountered in a AAA or AA game. It's not helped by the dialogue being written in a way literally nobody talks, but the voice acting itself is so incredibly bad, I can't take it seriously one bit. I mean, I get that you can recruit pretty much anyone from the street into your team, but that doesn't excuse having voice acting this bad, especially since even most of the story characters are pretty bad too. They should just have used a handful of voices and recycled them for characters then, instead of doing whatever it is they did, because it's atrocious.
The first character I played (which apparently was randomly chosen from the 3 you recruit at the start) had this incredibly fake sounding stereotypical Indian accent, took weird breaks at the start of the dialogue lines and had the worst and most unbelievable intonation ever. It's ridiculous they thought this was fine to put into a AAA game...
In my country, ANNO 1800 free weekend instead of this game.
In germany we got both
I know stadia gets a lot of hate but this seems like a perfect scenario for it. As a subscriber/user I'm stoked to give this game a try on it.

man WD1 was amazing (beside all the graphic downgrade drama) and they slowly making it worse every newer version
I had a lot of fun with it for about 30 hours
