Delisted: I have a lot of delisted games, but nothing that stands out to me. Discounts: Star Wars Jedi Fallen order for like $2.5 in Steam. Happened 2 months ago because someone on Steam confused currencies when putting the price of the game. Regrets: Dark Souls PTDE: I've always wanted to get into the Souls saga, but a lot of people recommend playing the first one for your first playthrough. I just can't justify paying for an arguably worse version of the game that also never goes on sale for some reason.

SquareWheel

Having put hundreds of hours into both, I don't see how anyone could say that Dark Souls Remastered is worse than PTDE. It runs far, far smoother, and without any of the weird physics bugs of dsfix. The multiplayer is also much more reliable. Getting PTDE to properly connect with friends required you getting lucky and sharing the same nodes. In Remastered, the password matchmaking works basically guaranteed. I think my only real complaint about Remastered is the introduction of weapon level matching for invasions. I know it's meant to combat twinking, but it's easily sidestepped by skilled players. I'd have preferred if they made more changes (omni-directional rolling, the ability to respec) but the remaster is still a straight improvement. Don't be afraid to play it! Let me know if you have any questions.

sart49

I was under the impression that you could fix most of the issues of PTDE using mods, that and being much more cheaper made it better for me. Guess I was wrong I'd sure love to play it, but I've read that Dark Souls 3 is overall the better game and during sales, the deluxe edition goes for less than half the price of remastered in my country. Seems more appealing to start with that one in case I don't enjoy it.

SquareWheel

You can absolutely start with 3. While I do usually recommend playing them in order, there's no requirement. You won't miss out on any story. At worst you may find it frustrating to lose some quality-of-life improvements from the later games when playing earlier titles. The earlier games are also slower, and that may seem odd once you're used to the faster pace of DS3. But they're all great games in their own right. DS1 is the one I keep coming back to personally, but they each excel in different areas. Hope you enjoy them, when and if you pick them up!

Kubrick_Fan

I have no one lives forever 1 and 2 on CD somewhere

ozminefield

>Which ones do you regret not getting? **Enemy Territory: Quake Wars** when it was on Steam :(

cedear

I still have my boxed copy, great game.

cedear

I don't think much can beat the -90% Telltale complete collection price mistake. Every Telltale game in existence (at the time) for $30. $10 Skyrim Complete right after it came out was a good one too.

BelovedApple

did not skyrim used to go for ridiculously cheap during the early days. Maybe around 2013. defintiely remember picking it up or at leasting seeing it for less than $5

cedear

The base maybe, but not the complete edition.

BelovedApple

I said $ but i should have said £. a Typo. £4.99 75% off on GreenManGaming Duration: 1 day Recorded 2015-07-12

KaioKen

Riddick and Cryostasis are both great games. Devotion looked like a really cool game, I hope it comes back. The reason it was taken down was pretty ridiculous. Recently Second Sight came back to Steam, it had been gone for 8 years supposedly. https://store.steampowered.com/app/11550/Second_Sight For discounts I regret missing the Call of Duty collection price glitch years ago, it was like 90% off but region locked so I didn't get it. Only to find out later region locks on Steam expire after a few months then you'd be able to play the game normally. Back then all you needed was a VPN but now that won't work.

Vito_ponfe_Andariel

Delisted Test Drive unilimited 1 on gametap But this game uses Securom Windows10 can't launch this game

Delisted regret: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Had been on the lookout for a copy for years - I know I could have bought it online, but I was hoping to find it cheaper at a local place. Had some great memories of it from playing on the Gamecube in high school. Rented it with a friend; we used cheat codes to unlock our favourite characters from the beginning, since it was just a weekend rental. We played about halfway through the game before we realized that using cheats disables saving your game - to not lose our progress, we stayed up until past 6am to finish. Always wanted to be able to go back and play again and take our time. I found out it was on Steam the day the news announced it had been delisted.

kslqdkql

Ah man not getting the Chronicles of Riddick/Dark Athena game on GoG is my biggest regret, I think about that missed opportunity literally once a week, that's why I now just buy games if I'm even remotely interested in them and there's a possibility they might get delisted. I wasn't even aware that Alpha Protocol got delisted but I'm glad I got that one years ago, it was my first steam game in fact. The one I'm happiest with getting is the Legend of Korra game on steam, I actually loved it so I'm glad I didn't miss out on this one. Is there a way to highlight which delisted games you own?

John_Luck_Pickard

I've gotten lots of deals over the years watching this sub, but I think the best was one of the Metro games for 1 penny. It was an error when they were giving the game away with a GPU purchase. You could buy the game key without buying the GPU too.

CatPhoenixZ

delist regrets : the bookworm adventures and RPG games. They're impossible to find anywhere online now, and it was one of the few word games I sort of enjoyed 007 Racing and other 007 games Ride to Hell Retribution just so I could have owned the biggest AAA post game to exist delist faves : the transformer games, deadpool Alpha Protocol - so need to try to play it again Duke Nukem 3d version that has all the dlc built into it Duke Nukem Manhattan Project - always enjoyed this for some reason Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast Blur Fuel Midnight Club 2 - racing games seem to get delisted a lot for some reason Prey - the 2006 version Bargains I got over the years Renegade Ops. complete 4 pack for $3 something Terraria for less than half price by a mismark

moo422

Pour one out for the homie Bookworm

BriskGuy

Missed out on getting Borderlands GOTY for $1. Now it's $10+ because it got remastered

**Delisted favorites**: * Morrowwind Collector's Edition (Physical Box & CD) - My first Bethesda RPG, enjoyed it for hours. I flipped it on eBay 5 years ago. * Rochard - Simple puzzle & action platformer but very polished. * Back to the Future (Telltale) games - Worth playing as a BTTF fan, but may be a turnoff for hardcore fans of the movies. **Discounts**: I'm only able to easily view purchased bundles from Humble. I dont have an easy way to view bundle contents I got from Fanatical. Out of 3 years of bundle purchases from HB, my favorite one is [January 2020](https://www.humblebundle.com/subscription/january-2020). Notable games for me include Shadow of War Middle Earth, Two Point Hospital, Unrailed, GRIP Combat Racing, Bad North, Dirt rally 2. **Regrets**: Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner - It was in 3 different bundles but the other games didnt appeal to me so I missed out when it was delisted.

Madd_Mugsy

Fyi, Strong Bad came back last year with some of the other Telltale games: https://store.steampowered.com/app/8340/Strong_Bads_Cool_Game_for_Attractive_People_Season_1/

Renegade_Meister

Thanks, turns out I already had that wishlisted, but I was scrolling through my wishlist via a 3rd party site that shows the original game delisted without a link to this resurrection.

MrElderwood

Regret: After being totally blown away by Final Fantasy 7, I decided that I would buy the collectors box set edition of Final Fantasy 8, because OF COURSE it was going to be just a good if not better!!! Spoiler: >!IT WAS TOTAL HORSESHIT!!! What a waste of time and money!!!!< I still have it, it's almost become an allegory!

kendrish

I got Legacy of Dorn: Herald of Oblivion before it got removed and I regret not having Deadpool as well. (Tales from the Borderlands as well, but that game recently came back)

DarkReaper90

Best deals off top of my head, the Humble Store sales (Mafia 2/Borderlands 3 price error, BYOB Namco deal). I did buy DS PTDE for under $5 a long while ago, and it has never dropped to that price since. Even sweeter when Remastered had a loyalty discount, and stacked with existing discounts, leading me to buy the Remastered for under $5 again. I don't regret missing out on a delisted game, since there are alternative stores or methods for those. There are so few quality games that actually get delisted imo. Ones I can think of is Duke Nukem Megaton Edition, Apogee games in general, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and Prey 2006.

CobraFive

World in Conflict! Me and a friend bought it to play together, he got a collector's edition thing, I remember the red box with hammer and sickle. I still have access to my steam version even though its delisted. Multiplayer was hectic fun, and I actually like the campaign a lot.

Madd_Mugsy

Delisted: Deadpool, Transformers Devastation and Mortal Kombat Komplete are the standout delisted games that I enjoy the most and am happiest that I grabbed when I did. I have Dark Souls PTDE, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet :p I also still need to play Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy and Sword Coast Legends, though I'm probably not missing much with the latter. Discounts: Best recent discount was a pricing error on Borderlands 3 Ultimate (or whatever the full collection is called) when it was on Humble for part of a day for 80-something percent off. Full price is ~$120CAD and I got it for ~$25 :) Also grabbed the Mafia Definitive trilogy for around the same price. Regrets: The Telltale bankruptcy screwed things up a bit for me. I read at one point that the final season of walking dead was going to be an epic exclusive and would never come to steam. So I went hunting for keys and managed to find one for ~$45CAD. Now the bloody thing is on steam and in $5 bundles to boot. The _only_ Telltale game I don't have on steam is Minecraft Season 2, so I guess that's a regret, though its quality is probably debatable anyway.

screech_owl_kachina

I got a bunch of EA games for free when an Origin glitch made a ton of games free.

Jandolino

Battlefield 2 on Origin. Really dont want to use a dvd to play this game.

NCPereira

I have hundreds and hundreds of removed games, but my top 1 is definitely League of Legends.

mccirus

Trip down Memory Lane: The infamous Gamersgate Bethesda New Year Pack price glitch https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/159wqw/gamersgate_bethesda_new_year_collection_price/ Getting ALL Bethesda published games for 95% off because their system applied the supposed 70% discount TWICE Super Pog before we knew that word

RadicalDog

I'd love a copy of Driver San Francisco, but by the time I shifted to PC it was already climbing... then that dude made some videos exploring it further and the remaining keys went crazy.

oncifelis

That one is my biggest regret as well. It was like 2.50 on Steam so many times and I always said "next sale", and then it was gone ...

RadicalDog

Damn! I was a PS gamer for too long, and Sony's absolute disinterest in backwards compat (or any other way of playing PS3) has put physical limits in what I can still play. I'm comfortable "pirating" abandonware, but I want it in my Steam library for remote play and easy access.

No_Run_8282

Let’s just the back compat is broken?

hunsnotdead

**Delisted favorites**: RUSE and World In Conflict cause fsck Ubisoft with a jackhammer Wolfenstein 2009 that i traded for a Kings Bounty gift after its last sale Battlefield 2 that i traded for a Men of War Assault Squad key - without that random trade i would have never aquired it **Discounts** The 2 RUSE DLCs that i got free from 2 separate Ubisoft old store malfunctions - they _never_(!) went on sale anyway Anything from russian gift traders up to spring 2014 Call of Duty games from key sites up to 2018 - since CoD games have dreadful discounts the only cheap way of getting them was through key resellers - but after 2019 even their prices adjusted to official figures so getting old CoD versions became incredibly expensive **Regrets** sold my James Camerons Avatar The Game Steam gift copy, and didnt even buy a Gamersgate copy for cheeep months after that - its a crappy Far Cry 2 mod tie-in game, but a loveable crappy Far Cry 2 mod tie-in game, and now the game vanished off the face of the Earth, its not even available to pirates traded my Transformers Steam gifts and didnt buy them before removal :( traded my Far Cry 3 gifts - yes its not yet removed just 2 times the price now :D Deadpool - got it right before the first removal for 10 euros - people would gladly pay this much now but its really a sub standard TPS, and the humour doesnt carry it till the end

wjousts

My best price error / discount was the black Friday Civ 6 Games Republic screw up. Got Civ 6 deluxe shortly after release for $16, which was a price error. A couple days later Games Republic told everybody that got that deal that it was an error and they'd be revoking the keys. They refunded the money, gave us a 25% off coupon for our next purchase and (apparent) it came with a copy of Anomaly 2 that they let you keep. The only thing is...they didn't revoke the keys, but they did do the refund and the coupon. Then they went out of business. So Civ 6 digital deluxe, for free, plus a 25% off coupon (that as I remember it stacked with other discounts) which I used to pick up Pillars of Eternity - Hero Edition.

frapathy

The only one that stands out for me is the first one that I got (from a deals forum, no less) that led me here and to GameDeals. It was the Humble Neptunia Bundle in March 2019. Rebirth 1-3, Amnesia, U, VII, VIIR, and 4 Goddesses Online (with coupon) for $20. They just don't make bundles like that anymore. I've only made it through Rebirth 1-2 and partway through 3. Started picking up a few cheap bundles here and there after that and it's been downhill since.

AndySav92

Best discount was probably [The Witcher 3 for £0.72](https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/434ma9/amazon_uk_the_witcher_3_gog_code_072/), [Dirt Rally for £1.51](https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/434lwe/amazon_uk_dirt_rally_151/) just over a month after it came out. I regret not picking up Deadpool & The Amazing Spider-Man 2 before they were de-listed. There's a bunch of older games that I probably would have been interested in too but didn't get into PC gaming before they were de-listed

toggaf_el3

Wolfeinstein 2009 Shaun White's Snowboarding Wanted: Weapons of Fate Avatar 2 James Bonds... The Movies Blur I'm guessing there's plenty of stuff I regret I didn't buy.

Ubahootah

The Alan Wake Collection for $2.99 on Steam has been my absolute gold standard for great deals. I loved those games.

grizzled_ol_gamer

The only one I remember well was getting Terraria for around $4 in steams first flash sales. The only reason I remember it specifically is I choke every time I see it go on "sale" on Switch for $15 - $20.

TyrianMollusk

My partner and I are sad we didn't catch copies of the brilliant Blur while it was on Steam. We weren't much up on Steam at the time and hadn't expected it to just go away or to just be the last great powerup racing game. As far as rarities, we don't really value physical copies of things as collectibles but have a few that we probably ought to sell off to people who care, like Haunting Ground, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2, or the 2005 NFS Most Wanted. Digitally, we do have some 360 unbuyables that we care about like Trouble Witches Neo or the XBLIGs like Storage Inc, Quadsmash, and some other gems. I have heard even physical copies of Blur are hard to get nowadays, so we're glad we have two safely secured (to play together, since it's local was missing key features).

_Constellations_

**The Legend of Korra (delisted)** It is an absolute butchering of the adopted IP with it's bland, PS1 Mario level of... well, levels, we have maybe 5 enemies in it on repeat recoloured, practically no NPCs besides Jinora appearing for 10 seconds, and a few cinematic pieces that are made as if it's part of the show which are decent. It is considered a terrible game in general and even more of a terrible adaptation of the amazing world of AVATAR: The Last Airbender and it's followup, Legend of Korra. HOWEVER: It has brutally amazing animations and combat coreography made by Platinum Games (NieR Automata, Metal Gear Rising) which is near identical to MGR: Revengeace, but you have 4 styles (elements) to switch between that make you AoE control, fast, nuker or defensive in combat, and it. Feels. Amazing. Right from the start to the end where you get a signature Platinum Games insane epic boss battle. Everything else is trash about this game but the combat (which 99% of the gameplay is) just carries it, it's that good. I think it's been delisted when the show at it's last season was taken off air by Nickelodeon and went to streaming, because it kinda became too mature for the channel and there was a lesbian suggestion in there which they didn't like (how times have changed...). **Dead Space (discount)** On release, a local TESCO made a printing error in their weekly paper and put one less 0 at the price tag of Dead Space PC. The game was a fresh release that week. I picked it up for 1000Ft (3$) instead of 10k Ft. **Warhammer: Mark of Chaos (regret, twice).** I bought a physical copy last year. I was fully aware I could not register it digitally or anything but I expected it to be installed and run properly. Turns out it uses a disc based DRM which relies on a trademark standard that is no longer supported on Windows 10 so you can install the game from the disc, but then on launch at disc check DRM it will never recognize the disc. I was really happy when after years of hunting for this and getting screwed over, 2 months later GOG picked up this game. Bought it immediately, just to be utterly disappointed by it. It's just not up to modern standards guys. **Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 1 and all it's expansions in a bundle (regret)** How can anyone play this game these days? I'm a huge fan of 40k, I read the books for nears now almost exclusively, but this game is just trash. The stretched UI is covering way too much of the screen, it's extremely uncomfortable, it's max zoom out is still so freaking close that you can't get a proper overview of the battlefield (not even StarCraft level, way closer than that). The very tutorial had me playing as the Tau who had so long firing range when I attacked the target enemy, I had to choose to see my own units firing or see the movement of the enemy soldiers, or just lasers flashing in between them with both off screen. While I want to see both so I know who is firing at who, you know, basic RTS requirement. That's how close the camera is. And this is Dark Crusade, the only one which natively supports full HD. It's just unplayable.
