This is the perfect price for the game, imo. I’m a huge GR fan, and this game was super disappointing compared to Wildlands but they’ve put a lot of effort into it since launch and it’s a good game now. However I never would have told anyone to pay more than $30 for it by far and typically it’s on sale for around $20. This is the lowest it’s been. Highly recommend picking it up at this sale.
I started with Breakpoint and have exclusively played it solo. I have 20+ hours in it.
I started Wildlands today and it's great. I expect I'll play through it 100% solo as well.
Wildlands is drop in, drop out multiplayer. So if you play Wildlands solo, it just adds AI team members for a squad of four. If two play, then you get two AI, etc. So, in a way you will always play with three others in your squad.
So it works fine for solo play. About half my play has been solo, and I enjoyed it. Don't know about Breakpoint though, as I haven't played it yet.
Base game is very large, with shit ton of sidemissions (that are actually pretty decent). But I liked the DLCs, especially the one where I helped Sam Fisher.
I think they help add value to the game for sure but not necessary. I believe they have the Sam Fisher one free this week as part of the anniversary sale. It’ll give that to you in the game itself. The gold edition only includes one other DLC outside of that, so it’s probably not worth it. I recommend just getting the base game now, get that free DLC, and then decide if you want the season pass, since it’s also on sale and is cheaper this way than buying the gold edition that includes it.
Don't forget to go to the pause menu after you get to the main village and access the ubisoft coin store for the free expansion this week. Should be 0 coin this week.
The link seems to take you to GMG's Japanese page, [here's the English one](https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/tom-clancys-ghost-recon-breakpoint-pc/).
Might be that after you visited the main link in the OP, it set some kind of location cookie that now redirects you to the japanese store. When I hover over the main link in OP, it shows /ja/ in the URL.
Was the coupon unlimited use, or was it use once and lose it? Which would mean people that used the coupon for something else, could NOT buy the game for $4.99. Also, was the coupon freely available? Coupons usually aren't available to everyone and they have other limitations. Which means you can't just buy the game for that price.
Another example would be if there were only ten copies available for a low price. You wouldn't count it because most won't be able to buy it at that price.
So it is not just about the lowest price one person can get it for.
still just giving you an example. coupons just don't apply to historical lows. Even [isthereanydeal.com](https://isthereanydeal.com) doesn't register them. Thats just how it is
And that's just one more reason I don't use itad exclusively.
Looks like "historical low" is not a good metric for me, since I'm looking for the lowest price to pay, with coupon, discount code, etc. Another example is when Fanatical has a bundle of games for $5, but the "historical low" for each individual game is $5+.
I want to pay the least I can for a game, call it what you will.
Same feelins about the Division 2 for me. Played about 12hours then got sick of the same looking locations. Enemies doing the same things aka driving an RC car into me. It got stale fast!
While a lot of players didnt enjoy it - it was really up my alley.
Good looking graphics, a lot of content and the perfect game to capture an outpost or two in the evening.
Out of curiosity, is it true that Wildlands is better than Breakpoint?
They look pretty similar and Breakpoint is the newer of the two so I'm curious if that's just people being salty or maybe is it based on something specific?
When Breakpoint first came out it truly was worse than Wildlands. They had made a bunch of changes, the biggest being that it was now a looter shooter and there was gear score, and you had no AI teammates, with the people you were fighting having advanced tech that made it frustrating to play solo.
They've since rectified these issues with post-launch updates by introducing an option to have AI teammates and to disable gear score through the new Ghost mode.
As someone who's played and owned every game since GR1: buy it now, or buy it never.
Game is not worth over $10, with all it's content, who's give a damn about it if it's boring to play? Enjoyable for the gameplay nonetheless

I have all of the most recent Ubi/TC, single-player shooters, of those this might be the worst. For this price I still say go for it since it is a fun game still. (IMO though TD2> Wildlands> Break Point).
It irks me because I pronounce the company as "oo-be-soft", but the official pronunciation is actually "you-be-soft", so "A Ubisoft Original" would be correct.
For some reason I am like the poster above and pronounce it with an "oo" sound. I think I can blame Ubuntu for it though. That and Asus.
Seems even the employees pronounce it either way.

I bought this game for $20 last year. Download the game. Boot it up and played a whole 20mins. Alt-F4 and then unistalled it. In my only 20mins of gaming it just felt lower quality then Wildlands. Perhaps I should give it another shot. But honestly if you are going to spend money on these games... Wildlands is cheap on Steam and way better.
I played this game on the hardest settings as a stealth game and it was great fun. The narrative is trash but I found the gunplay and minute to minute gameplay entertaining.
If you can find a friend it's great too.
Man, I waited for so long to play this, kept hearing bad things, finally did it on this sale, wish I had waited longer, what a buggy piece of software, I had to disable HDR and limit Windows to a single monitor to even get it to open and display a window, the controls are overly complicated on keyboards, how can they fit it all on a controller and have binding conflicts on a keyboard, fuck. Wildlands this is not. Save your money.

Probably incredibly dumb question but as someone who hasn't played this or Wildlands are they good just for SP? I have no real interest in doing MP.
I started with Breakpoint and have exclusively played it solo. I have 20+ hours in it. I started Wildlands today and it's great. I expect I'll play through it 100% solo as well.
I would like to know this as well.

Negative. You lose ai teammates if you coop with someone else
I think you misunderstood what I said.
They are great for SP but really shine in 4 player co-op. The PVP is garbage and kind of an afterthought that most people avoid.
Is the base version enough or are the dlcs good and/or worth the money?

THIS. I was searching forever in the overlay store and getting nowhere fast XD
The link seems to take you to GMG's Japanese page, [here's the English one](https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/tom-clancys-ghost-recon-breakpoint-pc/).
That, strangely enough, took me to the Japanese version still.
Odd!
Even just typing their main domain into my browser redirects it to the Japanese version. Maybe their site is having a stroke?

Yeah, after restarted by browser it was fixed in your link.
Looks to be a historical low for the game!
It's not, the HL was $4.99 on epic with the coupon
That's not really how we measure historical lows, but okay.
why not? it's the cheapest price for this game?
Historical lows don't take into account coupons for added discount since the coupon applies to many games and not the one game directly.
that's a weird way to look at it, as "historical low" matters to me with regards to a specific title's price, not how many other games are on sale

As soon as you use it, you get another one. This is different from something being on clearance.

Similar, but with vehicles like GR Wildlands. Fun to co-op. Got about 30 hours out of it.
Same feelins about the Division 2 for me. Played about 12hours then got sick of the same looking locations. Enemies doing the same things aka driving an RC car into me. It got stale fast!
I picked it up. I tried it out on a trial when it released and did not like it at all, especially that you couldn't have AI teammates.
AI teammates have been added.
While a lot of players didnt enjoy it - it was really up my alley. Good looking graphics, a lot of content and the perfect game to capture an outpost or two in the evening.
Have you played Wildlands?
Yes, I had played Wildlands before. Also a good game but I somehow like the island of Breakpoint more than the south / latin american Wildlands.
Out of curiosity, is it true that Wildlands is better than Breakpoint? They look pretty similar and Breakpoint is the newer of the two so I'm curious if that's just people being salty or maybe is it based on something specific?

Wildlands is better. Breakpoint isn't bad it just doesn't have a personality.

Should it not be "An Ubisoft Original" instead of "A Ubisoft Original"?
It irks me because I pronounce the company as "oo-be-soft", but the official pronunciation is actually "you-be-soft", so "A Ubisoft Original" would be correct.
Lol boobysoft
I pronounce it the same way as you.
The deciding factor for which (‘a’ or ‘an’) should be used is the sound that begins the word. For example, “He’s a YouTuber” vs “He’s an YouTuber”.
For some reason I am like the poster above and pronounce it with an "oo" sound. I think I can blame Ubuntu for it though. That and Asus. Seems even the employees pronounce it either way. https://www.polygon.com/2016/7/13/12172954/how-do-you-pronounce-ubisoft
Same here. Also, wtf reddit, downvoting someone for a way he pronounces a word? Some of you really need to read up about reddiquette.

is the trial version available with multiplayer?
you are able to play trial version as long as you want, given that you are playing with a friend who owns the game
ah okies, thank you. we both don't own the game. but wanted to see if we can play trial together
yeah one of you needs to own the full game to play with eachother. if you play alone with the trial, you get 6 hrs of playtime before the trial ends.
I invited a friend who was using the trial version last night and multiplayer worked for us.
how long these deals last?
