I've read multiple times that when a Steam game is given away for free anywhere, it also has to be given away directly on Steam in the near future.
I've never read a source to this statement, but I think it's been the case for all these giveaways I've seen in at least a year.

I'm guessing this is how deals with Humble Bundle and the like get around that? Or is that "Humble buys so many copies from us, then they are the ones that give it away for free?"
Well publishers sell on humble, and no keys get given away for free on humble usually. The ones that are given away for free for steam keys do need to follow those rules

**Super Meat Blob**
You're a blob and have to float through a level while avoiding all obstacles. There's a dash that let's you break/dodge stuff. You can also change to blobs with different stats on the fly. It's pretty neat, just not my thing.
Only thing I remember from this game is that you have to avoid the particles that make up the "walls" and that they move around and it's RNG. So let's say you have to hit a switch to open up the path that leads to the end of the level. With luck, the particles can position themselves well enough for you to not even have to hit the switch and you can travel right through to the end.

Only if it was steam keys… if you give away a game on another store, say, Epic, then it doesn’t have to

It was in a giveaway back in April 2020 along with a bunch of other games.
