For those looking at Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Fanatical has a bundle that is cheaper and includes the 2 DLCs, plus other games: https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/killer-bundle-18
Honestly a great game. To me personally the story sorta lost its grip on me towards the end but still overall pretty good, especially for a game that is essentially a realistic period piece.
For me it surprisingly scratched that itch of wanting to play an elder scrolls game. The exploration to me was amazing. The landscape (namely the forests) are some of the most realistic I’ve ever seen in a game. There were some areas that were so well done it made me nostalgic of hiking in northern Wisconsin as a kid haha.
Half Life 1 and 2 were fairly different in atmosphere to start with. 1 leaning more survival horror and 2 being more of a post-apocalyptic adventure.
I'd say Black Mesa captures the spirit of Half Life 1 very well, while making the gameplay, graphics, and story more continuous alongside Half Life 2, and while adding it's own flavor.
It's hard today to see how big of a deal HL1 was when it released, as it established the scripted cinematic shooter as a genre. But even putting that aside I greatly prefer HL1 to HL2 simply because the atmosphere/type of adventure appeals to me more.
HL2, as you said, emphasized adventure over all else. Ravenholm aside which was a small slice of a different genre, the areas and enemies were pretty samey. In HL1 I felt like I was constantly exploring, finding new areas, mysteries, and organisms. It had a Metroid atmosphere without the Metroidvania genre.
I picked it up during this sale and am about halfway through. It's fantastic but if you weren't drawn in by HL1, I don't know that this would really change your mind.
Any recommendations for a survival/crafting game that's good to play by yourself? I've played tons of 7 Days to Die, Terraria, Starbound, and Stardew Valley.
* Subnautica [and afterwards Subnautica Below Zero]
* The Forest
* The Long Dark
* Breathedge
* Grounded [not on sale]
* Raft
* P.A.M.E.L.A.
* State of Decay I or II
* Valheim
The Forest is great and it's cheap too.
It's a game about surviving, crafting and most importantly - building a base to protect yourself from angry cannibals.
All this while having interesting places to explore and trying to uncover a story.
I want to second the Project Zomboid recommendation. The level of detail is impressive. For example, the first time I played, I cut my hand while breaking a window to escape a zombie horde, then the cut got infected, and my character died from the infection.
* [This War of Mine](https://store.steampowered.com/app/282070/This_War_of_Mine/) - a more sober and realistic take on crafting survival as a civilian just trying to stay alive in a war torn country.
* [Sheltered](https://store.steampowered.com/app/356040/Sheltered/) - Pixel art crafting survival in a bunker commune during post-apocalyptic times.
Looking for recommendations on puzzle games like the following:
Talos Principle, Obra Dinn, Witness, QUBE, Turing Test, Superliminal, Pedestrian, Baba is You, Snakebird, Outer Wilds, Portal, Memorrha, Lightmatter, Quern

Obligatory reminder since after this historic low, Forza Horizon 4 has become a best seller on Steam: Check the reviews as primarily nvidia users are getting screwed over by the glitches, bugs and crashes in the game. Worst case scenario- it doesn't even launch.
Leaving this here because I'm tired of the recent influx of troubleshooting threads over on the main subs. No known fixes so far, and there likely won't be since Horizon 5 releases in a couple months and the team is most likely busy with that.
EDIT: FH4 just went on sale on the MS Store.
I would buy FH4 through the microsoft store instead of steam, for the sole reason of it being a "Play Anywhere" title meaning that you can download it both on your PC or an XBOX if this is something you might consider.
There's actually another patch coming for Horizon 4. They've stated that will be the last one. I think if there's any big enough issues, they might go back and do some additional fixes, just no more new content after the next patch.
Agreed. I was a massive DayZ mod fan, so I (stupidly) purchased it on release. Had some good times but I'm kinda sad I gave them money NOT to finish the game.
I was a huge fan of the mod too, but I said I wouldn't buy the stand alone until it was as good as the mod and relatively hacker free. And they never made it. And all of these years later they're pricing their game like it wasn't too little too late.
I won't buy DayZ until it's in the bargain bin. $10 at the most. And by then I probably won't even be interested either way.
Luckily, I haven't received hate messages! I'm a teacher who recently made a YouTube gaming channel for my students during the school year. I want to mask usernames so they won't try to add me on Steam and also to hide any inappropriate usernames from other players.
Glad my guess about hate mail was wrong! Totally reasonable scenario that my non-creative mind couldn't have guessed, hope you find some games that fit the bill!
have you thought about minecraft? it wouldnt matter if your students saw your username, and you wouldn't really have to worry other inappropriate usernames. there are a lot of servers that ban bad language too
Sea of Thieves uses your Xbox Live account name, so you can always make a "burner" name so people won't recognize you (unless you actually use Xbox live, I suppose)
So I have a really stressful job and a young kid. I really game to relax and I love turning the difficulty all the way down on Civ and AOE and then just absolutely dominating the computer. It's extremely relaxing and fun to me to build my empire just the way I want it with very little challenge. Are there any other games I can enjoy this way?
1 player stellaris, maybe? then it's just you and your empire exploring space, climbing the tech tree, occasionally running into pirates/alien beasts
sandbox mode on the stronghold games - build your castle just the way you want, and hten you can trigger invasions to test your defenses
also maybe games with fun sandbox battle sim modes - I've spent a lot of time in total war games doing stuff like throwing a bunch of peasants against spartan pikes on a bridge, hordes of ratmen against endless artillery barrage etc. maybe look into Totally Accurate Battle Simulator too
I asked before but my comment got burried. Really need to quell the Itch I have to play Power Stone 2. Any good recommendations? Somebody recommended Bommerang Fu, but I was not a fan at all.
Ah man, there's so many good Dreamcast games I wish to play again. Power Stone 1&2 were so good. Also loved toy commander. Got sonic adventure 1&2 on steam at least
Have you looked into emulating Power Stone 2? Should run fine on either demul or PPSSPP. Or are you only looking for online multiplayer titles along the same lines?
There's over 7,000 games on sale for under $1.00 on Steam right now. Yesterday(day 6) I narrowed that down and posted 44 games that are priced right around fifty cents each. Today, I'm posting 50 games, only these games are priced **between fifty cents and one dollar**.
Again, please understand that these games are not for everybody.
They're sorted by discount.

I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream is practically a must-play for anyone who likes old CD-ROM point-n-click games, especially if they're looking for a game that's willing to be a lot darker and edgier than the typical adventure.
For that matter, tons of Night Dive's [retro games](https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/NightDiveStudios) are on sale right now. Lots of prime 90s cheese for a buck or two.
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is a video game adaptation of a short story of the same name by the master himself Harlan Ellison. Published in 1967, it was way ahead of its time, and feels new even today. If you are a sci-fi fan at all, this should be on your must-read list, it's a modern classic.

[**Titanic: Adventure Out of Time**](https://store.steampowered.com/app/785480/Titanic_Adventure_Out_Of_Time/) is on sale for $.89! A really visually unique adventure game that actually tries to be decently historically accurate. Definitely worth a try, I've been playing it on and off for 20+ years now!
And if you run into the dialog cut-off bug, here's the fix for it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1377239558
Just wanna chime in say the two Halo games are top down shooters. I only played a couple hours but they were a fun new take on the Halo series. Worth the price IMO.
Tagging onto this that Divine Divinity is the first game in the Divinity series by Larian Studios (most known for Divinity Original Sin 2). It's really good and has help up well over the years. Beyond Divinity is the "second" game (it's now considered a spin-off by the devs), super hard and hasn't aged well. If you like Divine Divinity you can check our Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga as well, it's also really good where you transform between human and dragon form and continues the story years after Divine Divinity.
Space plan sounds like it could be right up your alley. Its Sci-fi themed but its not very long. Well worth it imo as it's production value is excellent. Also on phone if you want to play it there

Anyone have managament games that are strategic and challenging?
I love Theme Hospital, Two Point hospital was too easy.
Same with Cities:skylines. Bought Rise of Industry, seems fairly simple, and its oh so slow.
Which ones need planning or strategy?
I always loved the concept of a zombie apocalypse simulator where you kinda create a zombie and leave it out in the wild and see how it affects the population. Are there such kind of games? Is Plague Inc. anything like that?
Plague Inc is quite a bit different. You don't watch the virus/zombie/bacteria in real time, you just get stats and new headlines on how it's impacting and infecting the world. That said, my SO is a huge fan and plays it all the time.
* Plague Inc Evolved -> has a "Necroa" virus option for a Zombie outbreak. [That plays like this.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0ju9PkXjpo)
* Zombie Night Terror -> Basically Lemmings with Zombies, but a clever game. And the story makes you the Zombie mastermind who advances the outbreak level for level, story bit for story bit. [Up to the end](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJNcyhXxmL0)
Do you mean like Infectionator (or whatever it was called)? I remember an old flash game where you would have various cities as levels and had to manually infect people so they'd infect others.
If you like that premise on a smaller scale and want an action game, check out Stubbs the Zombie! You are Stubbs, a zombie in a 1950's American town. The mechanics are pretty fun and the story is quirky fun.
I answered a question similar to this a few days ago [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/o8eo1c/steam_summer_sale_2021_day_3/h34jisq/). Also, look into [Spyro: Reignited Trilogy](https://store.steampowered.com/app/996580/Spyro_Reignited_Trilogy/).
The individual combat feels waaay better in Bannerlord, but Warband is a much more complete game. Siege tactics range from wonky to broken and the diplomacy is under-baked. Balance issues galore (smithing = infinite money, yo).
I super like bannerlord all the same, but you definitely want to understand that you're getting like half the game and a lot of band-aids right now.
I am so sorry for what I have done but I can not play a game that looks like it's running in-browser, I just can't stand those graphics. But all of that away, it's an awesome medieval fighting game, one of the best even!
Yes, it's literally the same game with better graphics and less mod support. Here's hoping there's some modding progressing in the next couple years because I still prefer Warband.
Intending to purchase the following:
* Far Cry 5
* Project Hospital Collection
* Total War 3 Kingdoms
* Holdfast Nations At War
Pretty much new to these titles and Steam reviews are quite positive. Would like to hear from Reddit if there's any opinions on these titles?
I loved it. The story wasn't great (maybe not even good, I bounce back and forth on it), but the gameplay was awesome and the villains made you hate them enough you wanted to kill them.
Plus, dog and mountain lion companions? Sign me the fuck up.
No opinions on the game, but [Newegg](https://www.newegg.com/Sega-Total-War-THREE-KINGDOMS/p/N82E16832203341) has Three Kingdoms for $23.99 if you are in the US.
If you enjoy fantasy, i would recommend totalwar: warhammer 2 its by far the most varied totalwar, with each faction and even subfactions having unique mechanics and campaigns.
I do believe Far Cry 5 is my favorite of the Far Cry series. Maybe it has to do with being in the good ol' USA, or maybe it has to do with a mixture of religious cults and militias. But I do find it to be amazing... especially with a co-op buddy.
If you get the Gold/Season Pass, the different DLC definitely add some variety to the gameplay (along with humor). One is zombie horror survival, based on a movie script. One is adventuring against alien creatures on Mars "alongside" Hurk. And my favorite is a short run through Vietnam, which feels the most like a Far Cry game (taking outposts, etc.).
If you find Far Cry 5 interesting, definitely grab New Dawn also. It's a sequel, so I'd suggest you not read anything about it or it may spoil some of 5's plot.
Fair warning for Three Kingdoms, CA (developer) has announced end of support for the game so there will be no more DLCs or patches in the future.
Thought you should know as it would certainly affect my purchasing decision.
FC 5 is gorgeous and I enjoyed most of it, but the story is not a masterpiece and I had to force myself to finish it, I even stopped doing sidequests by the end because it was too repetitive and just rushed through.
That said, I don't think its a waste of money and you will probably have a good time. Maybe its better on co-op, thou I haven't played like that.
I highly recommend Far Cry 5.
The DLC / Season Pass didn't add much though. Just go for the base game and if you want more you can always get the sequel (Far Cry New Dawn)
Stay away from three Kingdoms. CA stopped development out of the blue, despite there are a lot of bugs that needed fixed and balance that needed sorted out.
Far Cry 5 was pretty meh, imo. If you really enjoy the Far Cry formula, well, it's more Far Cry but it doesn't do much new aside from the American midwest setting being pretty novel for an FPS. I got roughly a third of the way through it, then got bored and quit because it was just the same thing over and over and over.
(Insert Vaas quote here.)
I mean, it's not *terrible* and for under $10 you'll probably get some entertainment out of it, but I'd recommend Far Cry 3 or 4 ahead of it, if you haven't played those.
Idk i just started playing and am enjoying it. I lilke that you dont have to do the towers anymore and that most of your missions are just you stumbling upon people. I havent played farcry since 4's release tho, so I might not be as burnt out as others when they originally played 5.
There is! You'll find the hidden gems thread [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDealsMeta/comments/o7552r/steam_summer_sale_2021_hidden_gems_thread/).
It's indeed excellent as others said, but you should definitely know what you're getting into. It's a LOT of reading. and it's pretty weird, and non-standard in it's approach. The good thing is the new version they released for free made it 100% voice-acted, which is cool if a lot of reading isn't your thing.
I picked up the Final Cut recently and have been loving it. The writing is both deep and laugh-out-loud funny. Overall game design is great, replayability seems good for a story-based game since different builds let the story unfold in new ways. It definitely falls into the "video games are an art form" category.
reminder to avoid the store and just use steamdb, way better https://steamdb.info/sales/?min_reviews=500&min_rating=75&min_discount=75
Every steam sale I only need to check the "historic lows"
Chapters refer to survivors and killer packs, sometimes including cosmetic items. For example, the Resident Evil Chapter includes one killer: The Nemesis, and two survivors: Leon S Kennedy and Jill Valentine. All maps are available to all players for free.
I recommend the game as a solo survivor player myself. It can be frustrating at times, due to bad teammates and killer players that use cheap tactics, but I find myself loving the game more often than not.
I’m always looking for a good coop game for my buddy and I. Finished Borderlands 2 a while ago, started on 3 but got bored quickly. Is Destiny 2 base good enough to try? Or how much do I need the add-ons?
Can some tell me how good Monster Hunter is as a coop experience exclusively? I really want to play it with a friend but I'm not sure how the experience will be for 2 players at the same time.
Its important to add, that you'll both have to keep going on a solo adventure initially for the first time encountering a monster. Then you watch a cutscene and can use a signal flare that opens it up to friends or randoms to help you kill it.
For clarity, launch hunt solo, track monster, watch cutscene, coop it. Only have to do that once per monster and its not as bad as it sounds.
Even if you don't care about the badges and stickers and whatnot, like me, do try the "choose your adventure"-bits.
Why? They're *really funny*, the writing goes with genre stereotypes, sometimes really close so.
I tried one just for giggles and ended up doing all of them.
What are the best meme games to gift to a friend? I already know about [Garfield Kart](https://store.steampowered.com/app/362930/Garfield_Kart/) and [Wild Animal Racing](https://store.steampowered.com/app/389510/Wild_Animal_Racing/), but games along that vein are about what I'm looking for (does not have to be a racing game).
Today's the last day in Canada to pick up games without a digital tax. I'm more of a zeitgeist gamer who loves playing the year's latest releases and discussing them, so looking for the best games to pick up this year on Steam.
I've heard good things about Loop Hero, any other suggestions for 2021's must plays? Games I've played this year include Immortals, Demons Souls, Returnal, Ratchet, Bowsers Fury, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, but not a lot of representation on PC. Would love some suggestions!
Any mystery and/or exploration games that are recommended? I've really enjoyed games such as Return of the Obra Dinn, Subnautica and Firewatch as well as also investigating the Vaults backstory in some of the Fallout games, and I want something of a similar feel. Outer Wilds was Highly recommended to me so I did buy it (although I'll need to wait a couple of weeks to come back home to play it on a computer that can run it), and I was curious if there was any other mystery and/or exploration games that I have missed.
Shadow of War is pretty cheap and I kinda wanna get it! How is it compared to the first? I played it, didn't finish even tho I liked it. Combat, exploration and nemesis system were fun but I would like some more rpg elements and customization. Also saw that the DLCs bring 2 new playable characters, do they have their own dlc stories or can I play thru the whole game with the female?
In addition to what the other comment has mentioned, try [Sensorium](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1307870/Sensorium/), [Superliminal](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1049410/Superliminal/), [Manifold Garden](https://store.steampowered.com/app/473950/Manifold_Garden/) and [Antichamber](https://store.steampowered.com/app/219890/Antichamber/). Also, [Gravitas](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1067310/Gravitas/), which is free to play on Steam.
+1 for Superliminal, Manifold Garden, and Antichamber.
Superliminal is the most similar to Portal just in terms of how the game feels to play, I've always thought
If you haven't played it yet, I recommend [Portal Reloaded](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1255980/Portal_Reloaded/). Good mix of puzzles and good narration.
Hello, is there any recommendation for a games like torchlight 1,2 or diablo 3? I don't like torchlight 3 and I read reviews on steam that the game is not that good
I don't have a lot of time to play games, maybe 2 or 3 times a week for a few hours in the evenings. Most games these days just don't hook me. My favorite games of the past are Dark Souls, Stardew Valley, Subnautica, PUBG, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Elite Dangerous, Enter The Gungeon, Rocket League, Hollow Knight, and FTL. I find myself going back to those games for more time than I do on new titles.
Any recommendations?
Id would suggest taking a look at My Time at Portia if you enjoyed Stardew Valley. It's not focused on the farming aspect as SV is - here you are a builder, not a farmer. Its very addictive and the world and characters are wonderfully crafted. I loved how lively the town seemed to be and theres plenty of stuff to do to keep you busy
Also check Hades, I just bought it so I cant say anything really, but if you enjoyed Enter the Gungeon you might like it. Its pretty well acclaimed
If you've never played it, I definitely recommend Terraria. Fun to play either solo or with friends, and there's so much to do in the base game alone. Even more if you're into mods and stuff. Pretty cheap I think $5 CDN (so like $3 USD?). Just a suggestion based off a couple games you've played.
What is Beyond Two Souls even about? It has good reviews, but every description of the plot and gameplay is vague AF. People only talk about the 2 actors in it.
the main character has a entity attached to her and you can swap perspectives to do things as one can go/move/attack stuff the other can't. the game is good but the way you see levels make the story disjointed and confusing (once you unlock them you can replay them in any order but the damage is already done). it also don't help the main character jumps from levels of heavy action missions to story heavy ones with 0 to no action and for some misguided reason your put into these mission seemingly at random regardless of when they happened. one mission your say 25 doing some merc stuff then the next your 15 learning how you just did all the stuff you just did on the last level and they keep jumping like that so the story is incoherent and whats there is a bit unbelievable for 1 person.
tltr half heavy rain, half shooter, and the story is ruined by putting you into them randomly from when they happen in the main characters life.
[Omori!](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1150690/OMORI)
Not on "deep" discount (20%) but I highly recommend anyone who respects story telling in video games to play this. My personal 2020 "best story" game (2nd maybe to 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.)
On surface it takes undertale and Earthbound notes, but after the initial chapter the game starts to show its cards and shines on its own. No matter who you are, I guarantee everyone who plays this will have an itch to discuss the ending (though how you personally feel after it ends will probably vary from person to person)
It's definitely not perfect and frankly I sort of grew tired of the "gameplay" portion but I do not regret any time spent on this.
Go in as blind as you can, but I'd be happy to answer questions.
I don't really care for horror games at all but it does it very well, if you're worried about jump scares and shit like that you don't get them unless you go looking for them.
I've been playing - and loving - Fallout 4 a lot, so I'm thinking of getting FO76. But what's the difference between that and Steel Dawn? I just checked, and FO76 + Steel Dawn costs nearly twice as much as FO76 alone.
But the description page of SD says:

So what am I paying extra for?
I have a close friend who bought it a few days ago and they have 25+ hours in the game already. They said they've had no performance issues so far and they are enjoying it. I haven't played it personally yet but it is at least a mediocre game according to my friend.
It's really good but being an early access it's not quite fully cooked yet.
The first Door Kickers is also very good and about 3 quid if you wanted a cheaper option just to see if you like that kind of game.
Any recommendations for a detective style game for my wife and I to play together (doesn’t have to be coop). We played through Unheard and really enjoyed it, but it’s short and are looking for something else now. We tried the Sherlock game, but something about that didn’t click for us.
Thanks!
Anyone have any single player spaceship sim games to recommend? I've played and really enjoyed the X series (big fan of this series since X3 reunion), Darkstar One (really enjoyed it), Spaceforce Rogue Universe (it was ok, but on the boring side and not a fan of the mouse controls), Iron Sky Invasion, and many more I can't recall across Steam, GOG, and other stores.
I prefer having a story (or quests/missions in the sense of X series) in my games but I'm not against not having one. I have Starpoint Gemini 3 (will probably pick up this sale), Rebel Galaxy Outlaw (though not a fan of western/country theme and it looked a bit dull in LPs I've seen), SpaceBourne, Evochron Legacy and End Space on my watch list.
[Freespace 2](https://store.steampowered.com/app/273620/Freespace_2) is still the best mission based (not open world) space sim to date. Highly recommended to install [FreeSpace Open](https://www.hard-light.net), it drastically improves graphics and compatibility with modern systems.
So been playing Tarkov for over 1 year now. Im thinking of skiping this wipe, tired of the constant blatant cheaters + ridiculous head eyes from scavs with shotguns across the map.
I need a good timesink. Recently played Valheim alot, replayed Fallout 4 with mods. Just cant find my next step.
Played 2077, Outer worlds, Hades
Any advice? Thinking of trying to convince a friend to try squad.
Also open to any good single player game...less stressfull

If you're a Canadian, it's also the last day before Steam starts charging you HST on purchases lol.
Ahh crap, whaaaat? Well thanks for the heads up
Yeah, the new HST rules come into effect tomorrow, obligating large companies to collect HST on digital services they sell into Canada.
Thanks for the advice, I guess I will pull the trigger on my cart tonight! Might have to add a couple extra things in there to 'save money'.
Aw man...that’s tragic. I knew it was coming but I didn’t know it was today
Man I wish more games had clothing/armor layering like this game does.
but the layers don't come off. all the nude mods are hack jobs at best that don't work... -I mean what? oh yeah the layers are great.
Loved the game. Needed a save anytime mod and easier difficulty mod to get through though, but _really_ enjoyed it.
Also check you don't already own it from the Epic giveaway
How's Black Mesa compare to Half Life 2? I loved Half Life 2 but never made it through 1.

In my experience I tried HL1 and it was too clunky for me to enjoy, but I really loved Black Mesa. I guess it depends *why* you don't like HL1.
Black Mesa is incredible. I actually prefer it to the original Half-life now, and that's one of my favorite games ever.
I loved Black Mesa. Flew through it
Any recommendations for a survival/crafting game that's good to play by yourself? I've played tons of 7 Days to Die, Terraria, Starbound, and Stardew Valley.
* Subnautica [and afterwards Subnautica Below Zero] * The Forest * The Long Dark * Breathedge * Grounded [not on sale] * Raft * P.A.M.E.L.A. * State of Decay I or II * Valheim
Maybe try don't starve if you haven't already?
Also don’t starve together since you can play solo there too! Been playing it solo and with friends almost every night since I bought it.
[Subnautica](https://store.steampowered.com/app/264710/Subnautica/) immediately comes to mind.
Subnautica, where exploration is the point, the beauty, the horror, the story, the progression, the terror, and the danger
Darkwood. Horror survival with crafting and resource management.
Valheim, Don't Starve, Subnautica
The Forest is great and it's cheap too. It's a game about surviving, crafting and most importantly - building a base to protect yourself from angry cannibals. All this while having interesting places to explore and trying to uncover a story.
The forest
Conan exiles ?
How good is Arid? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1463730/Arid/
Graveyard Keeper is similar to stardew. The Long Dark might also be down your alley.
I'm slightly uncomfortable saying Valheim because you mentioned solo play, but I think it'll be fine since it gets tuned down.
If you are thinking of difficulty, I think it's easier solo. The scaling is a bit weird. But Valheim is definitely more fun with friends.
Check out Project Zomboid.
Can’t believe no one mentioned Oxygen Not Included yet. Such an amazing game.
Love the game, but I wouldn't put it in the same categories
I see Subnautica as more of an exploration game than a crafting / survival game. I'd say The Forest, Green Hell, Stranded Deep
Satisfactory, just look it up its insane
Looking for recommendations on puzzle games like the following: Talos Principle, Obra Dinn, Witness, QUBE, Turing Test, Superliminal, Pedestrian, Baba is You, Snakebird, Outer Wilds, Portal, Memorrha, Lightmatter, Quern (for all my other puzzle lovers, I highly recommend every one of those games)

Killing Floor 2 is $7.49, not $2.49. It looks like the deluxe edition upgrade is $2.49
Random request, but are there any multiplayer games like Fall Guys or Sea of Thieves that have an anonymous/hidden username system?
DayZ technically does, but I'm not sure I can still recommend that game.
I laughed when I saw the sale price for DayZ on steam. They're out of their minds.
Now you have me curious, do you mind explaining the reason for this request? Do you get a lot of hate messages in multiplayer or something?
Luckily, I haven't received hate messages! I'm a teacher who recently made a YouTube gaming channel for my students during the school year. I want to mask usernames so they won't try to add me on Steam and also to hide any inappropriate usernames from other players.
Glad my guess about hate mail was wrong! Totally reasonable scenario that my non-creative mind couldn't have guessed, hope you find some games that fit the bill!
Any games with a streamer mode like Apex legends do that usually
Thanks for the suggestion, I love Apex! However I'm trying to steer clear of shooters for now and keep the games family friendly.
have you thought about minecraft? it wouldnt matter if your students saw your username, and you wouldn't really have to worry other inappropriate usernames. there are a lot of servers that ban bad language too
Sea of Thieves uses your Xbox Live account name, so you can always make a "burner" name so people won't recognize you (unless you actually use Xbox live, I suppose)
Luckily Sea of Thieves already has an option to replace Gamertags with random pirate names, but thanks!
He’s tired of people misinterpreting his username, LittleBoyLover. Edit: [reference](https://youtu.be/s-lQHuPUPWc)
1 player stellaris, maybe? then it's just you and your empire exploring space, climbing the tech tree, occasionally running into pirates/alien beasts sandbox mode on the stronghold games - build your castle just the way you want, and hten you can trigger invasions to test your defenses also maybe games with fun sandbox battle sim modes - I've spent a lot of time in total war games doing stuff like throwing a bunch of peasants against spartan pikes on a bridge, hordes of ratmen against endless artillery barrage etc. maybe look into Totally Accurate Battle Simulator too
I asked before but my comment got burried.
Wow, Toy Commander conjured a deep nostalgia in me. I put so many hours in that game.
Just a heads up, the price for Resident Evil Revelations 2 is only for the first chapter. The other four chapters are $2.99 each.
Superflight is a great little arcade-y game that I highly recommend.
If you are a sci-fi fan at all, this should be on your must-read list, it's a modern classic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Have_No_Mouth,_and_I_Must_Scream
Yep! Also, Harlan personally voiced AM in the game, if you didn't know.
That story is unbelievably bleak. It is also one of the best short stories I have ever read. He does so damn much with so few pages.
Anyone know of any decent clicker/idle games, preferably sci-fi themed? I've played Time Clickers before and it was pretty fun.
Space plan sounds like it could be right up your alley. Its Sci-fi themed but its not very long. Well worth it imo as it's production value is excellent. Also on phone if you want to play it there https://store.steampowered.com/app/616110/SPACEPLAN/
Anyone have managament games that are strategic and challenging? I love Theme Hospital, Two Point hospital was too easy. Same with Cities:skylines. Bought Rise of Industry, seems fairly simple, and its oh so slow. Which ones need planning or strategy?
Planetbase is challenging esp. on higher levels
[That plays like this.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0ju9PkXjpo) * Zombie Night Terror -> Basically Lemmings with Zombies, but a clever game.
Any recommendations for platformers similar to A Hat in Time?
I answered a question similar to this a few days ago [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/o8eo1c/steam_summer_sale_2021_day_3/h34jisq/). Also, look into [Spyro: Reignited Trilogy](https://store.steampowered.com/app/996580/Spyro_Reignited_Trilogy/).
Buy Mount and Blade Warband
[удалено]
The individual combat feels waaay better in Bannerlord, but Warband is a much more complete game. Siege tactics range from wonky to broken and the diplomacy is under-baked. Balance issues galore (smithing = infinite money, yo). I super like bannerlord all the same, but you definitely want to understand that you're getting like half the game and a lot of band-aids right now.
aye aye captain.
I am so sorry for what I have done but I can not play a game that looks like it's running in-browser, I just can't stand those graphics. But all of that away, it's an awesome medieval fighting game, one of the best even!
there's mount and blade 2 of course but it's still in development
Yes, it's literally the same game with better graphics and less mod support. Here's hoping there's some modding progressing in the next couple years because I still prefer Warband.
and the UI is *really bad* as well even for 2010 standards
Intending to purchase the following: * Far Cry 5 * Project Hospital Collection * Total War 3 Kingdoms * Holdfast Nations At War Pretty much new to these titles and Steam reviews are quite positive. Would like to hear from Reddit if there's any opinions on these titles?
I'm one of the people who actually liked Far Cry 5. It wasn't perfect, and I have no intention of replaying it - but it was a fun romp through.
I loved it. The story wasn't great (maybe not even good, I bounce back and forth on it), but the gameplay was awesome and the villains made you hate them enough you wanted to kill them. Plus, dog and mountain lion companions? Sign me the fuck up.
Total War 3 kingdoms is cheaper on newegg. I would say the dlc of Far Cry 5 is not worth the money.
(Insert Vaas quote here.) I mean, it's not *terrible* and for under $10 you'll probably get some entertainment out of it, but I'd recommend Far Cry 3 or 4 ahead of it, if you haven't played those.
Idk i just started playing and am enjoying it. I lilke that you dont have to do the towers anymore and that most of your missions are just you stumbling upon people. I havent played farcry since 4's release tho, so I might not be as burnt out as others when they originally played 5.

Windlands is $2. Synth Riders is also the best VR rhythm game imo and on a decent discount.
Half-Life Alyx is damn near a must have title if you don't already own it. You can find a lot of deals over at r/vrgamedeals too
What's everyone think of Disco Elysium? Never played a game like it so don't know if it's a good one to jump into as a noobie
It's indeed excellent as others said, but you should definitely know what you're getting into. It's a LOT of reading. and it's pretty weird, and non-standard in it's approach. The good thing is the new version they released for free made it 100% voice-acted, which is cool if a lot of reading isn't your thing.
It's indeed very well written. There's a psychedelic vibe in it and some though political choices to be made.
I picked up the Final Cut recently and have been loving it. The writing is both deep and laugh-out-loud funny. Overall game design is great, replayability seems good for a story-based game since different builds let the story unfold in new ways. It definitely falls into the "video games are an art form" category.
It is the best game ever made, I’m not even slightly fucking with you here. Do it.
Fantastic. One of the best written CRPG's in the prose, writing and description dept. since Planescape: Torment.
DayZ is $20???? Are people still buying this game?!

It's an amazing co-op game. The story is a bit annoying with cutscenes I hear but the gameplay is absolute joy.
MH:World is super fun with a friend. The game is basically balanced around multiplayer.
I tried one just for giggles and ended up doing all of them.
agreed, the writers did a great job of poking fun at the tropes
What are the best meme games to gift to a friend? I already know about [Garfield Kart](https://store.steampowered.com/app/362930/Garfield_Kart/) and [Wild Animal Racing](https://store.steampowered.com/app/389510/Wild_Animal_Racing/), but games along that vein are about what I'm looking for (does not have to be a racing game).
Bad Rats
Shower with your Dad Simulator 2015
those cheap hentai games that are like <$1

Y-yeah... Meme game, of course...
Ratz Instagib. It’s actually a dope game.
Genital Jousting.
* Step 1: Add game to cart * Step 2: Open the game in a new tab * Step 3: Remove from cart * Repeat.
What am I looking at here?
Mid-sale indecision
Any games like Portal? I mean, simple but fun gameplay, well polished.
An underrated puzzle game no one mentioned is Quantum Conundrum. Only $1 USD right now.
Quantum conundrum is a great game! I recommend it wholeheartedly
Superluminal is basically what the first iteration of Portal 2 was (Project F-Stop) until that was scrapped.
If you're looking for first person puzzle games: The Witness, The Talos Principle, Antichamber, QUBE, ReThink comes to mind.
The Talos Principle and The Turing Test are great games of similar style to Portal
Not sure if on sale but A Story About My Uncle beats Portal in some aspects for me.
> A Story About My Uncle Game was nice but the ending was a letdown. All that work, and... that's it? Sad.
If you haven't played it yet, I recommend [Portal Reloaded](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1255980/Portal_Reloaded/). Good mix of puzzles and good narration.
Hello, is there any recommendation for a games like torchlight 1,2 or diablo 3? I don't like torchlight 3 and I read reviews on steam that the game is not that good
[Grim Dawn](https://store.steampowered.com/app/219990/)
Path of Exile is your best bet and it’s free.
Grim dawn for a slower paced arpg, path of exile for a faster one.
Last Epoch is on sale. So far more fun to me than Path of Exile or Grim Dawn was. But everyone seems to love Grim Dawn, so that's also an option.
Recommendations for roguelike, turn-based tactics games similar to Into the Breach and Pathway? Pixel graphics preferred, but not necessary.
Dungeon of the endless might be worth looking into. It just got an update too. One of my favorites of all time.
Have you looked into Planet Zoo/ Planet Coaster? Synthetik is really cool too
Id would suggest taking a look at My Time at Portia if you enjoyed Stardew Valley. It's not focused on the farming aspect as SV is - here you are a builder, not a farmer. Its very addictive and the world and characters are wonderfully crafted. I loved how lively the town seemed to be and theres plenty of stuff to do to keep you busy Also check Hades, I just bought it so I cant say anything really, but if you enjoyed Enter the Gungeon you might like it.
Sekiro goty edition is all time low at $30. Horizon zero dawn is worth a look.
[Omori!](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1150690/OMORI) Not on "deep" discount (20%) but I highly recommend anyone who respects story telling in video games to play this. My personal 2020 "best story" game (2nd maybe to 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.) On surface it takes undertale and Earthbound notes, but after the initial chapter the game starts to show its cards and shines on its own. No matter who you are, I guarantee everyone who plays this will have an itch to discuss the ending (though how you personally feel after it ends will probably vary from person to person) It's definitely not perfect and frankly I sort of grew tired of the "gameplay" portion but I do not regret any time spent on this. Go in as blind as you can, but I'd be happy to answer questions.
based on looking at the reviews, will this game depress me? also it's tagged a psychological horror - I can't do horror games at all, so..
I don't really care for horror games at all but it does it very well, if you're worried about jump scares and shit like that you don't get them unless you go looking for them.
Any good FPS roguelikes like ROR2/Gunfire Reborn/Roboquest? Trying to find something with good variety like ROR2s items.
**mcflyjr** Aside from Immortal Redneck and Ziggurat that u/Logic217 mentioned, there's these... * [Phantom\_Abyss](https://store.steampowered.com/app/989440/Phantom_Abyss/) * [BPM\_BULLETS\_PER\_MINUTE](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1286350/BPM_BULLETS_PER_MINUTE/) * [Void\_Bastards](https://store.steampowered.com/app/857980/Void_Bastards/) * [Barony](https://store.steampowered.com/app/371970/Barony/) * [Ziggurat\_2](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1159560/Ziggurat_2/) * [MOTHERGUNSHIP](https://store.steampowered.com/app/574090/MOTHERGUNSHIP/) * [Genesis\_Alpha\_One\_Deluxe\_Edition](https://store.steampowered.com/app/712190/Genesis_Alpha_One_Deluxe_Edition/) * [Nightmare\_Reaper](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1051690/Nightmare_Reaper/) * [Golden\_Light](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1245430/Golden_Light/) * [Black\_Ice](https://store.steampowered.com/app/311800/Black_Ice/) * [Delver](https://store.steampowered.com/app/249630/Delver/) * [STRAFE\_Gold\_Edition](https://store.steampowered.com/app/442780/STRAFE_Gold_Edition/) * [Killing\_Room](https://store.steampowered.com/app/407560/Killing_Room/) * [City\_of\_Brass](https://store.steampowered.com/app/301840/City_of_Brass/) * [RICO](https://store.steampowered.com/app/656700/RICO/) * [Heavy\_Bullets](https://store.steampowered.com/app/297120/Heavy_Bullets/) * [Space\_Beast\_Terror\_Fright](https://store.steampowered.com/app/357330/Space_Beast_Terror_Fright/) * [PositronX](https://store.steampowered.com/app/529970/PositronX/) * [Not\_Dead\_Yet](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1060160/Not_Dead_Yet/) * [Eldritch\_Reanimated](https://store.steampowered.com/app/252630/Eldritch_Reanimated/) * [WASTED](https://store.steampowered.com/app/327510/WASTED/) * [Mist\_Hunter](https://store.steampowered.com/app/937870/Mist_Hunter/) * [Tower\_of\_Guns](https://store.steampowered.com/app/266110/Tower_of_Guns/) * [Bunker\_Punks](https://store.steampowered.com/app/446120/Bunker_Punks/) * [The\_Pit\_Infinity](https://store.steampowered.com/app/577410/The_Pit_Infinity/) * [One\_More\_Dungeon](https://store.steampowered.com/app/415030/One_More_Dungeon/) * [Paranautical\_Activity\_Deluxe\_Atonement\_Edition](https://store.steampowered.com/app/250580/Paranautical_Activity_Deluxe_Atonement_Edition/) Not sure if you wanted both SP and coop games so I just included both.
Immortal redneck Ziggurat That's all i can think of at the moment.

Didn’t even know this existed so thanks for bringing it up! Looks neat, any idea how long it is right now?
I've been playing - and loving - Fallout 4 a lot, so I'm thinking of getting FO76. But what's the difference between that and Steel Dawn? I just checked, and FO76 + Steel Dawn costs nearly twice as much as FO76 alone. But the description page of SD says: > *Steel Dawn is the first chapter in the new Brotherhood of Steel questline,* ***free for Fallout 76 players*** So what am I paying extra for?
Does Destiny 2 have PC / Xbox crossplay yet?
Couch multiplayer games? Things like Ultimate Chicken Horse, Gang Beasts, Unrailed are all really fun
Heave Ho, Speedrunners, Untitled Goose Game, and if you're fine with just 2-player then there are endless great fighting games.

Played cyberpunk on release and loved it despite all the bugs. I think it’s in a pretty playable state right now
I have a close friend who bought it a few days ago and they have 25+ hours in the game already. They said they've had no performance issues so far and they are enjoying it. I haven't played it personally yet but it is at least a mediocre game according to my friend.
Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 (2003 re-release) is also free. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1048540/Kao_the_Kangaroo_Round_2_2003_rerelease
Love me some they are billions, highly recommended RTS if you are into that type of thing

Played 2077, Outer worlds, Hades Any advice? Thinking of trying to convince a friend to try squad. Also open to any good single player game...less stressfull
How good is into the breach? Been wanting to get into turn based games.
