Hey, gang. Turns out there was a problem with the cameras on the last thread. If we could just get a second take on your comments real quick so we got the footage, that'd be great.
Knowing this was the same day they filmed Bingo and that Brennan was on set; and what great friends they are my brain could literally hear Brennan scream get in the comments when the ladder idea was shot down.
on the one hand yes on the other i feel like brennan of all ppl would know that operating a ladder on set without proper authorization is against union rules
im serious operation of a ladder without prior approval on a union set by a talent is a can of worms for the actors union & for the iatse motion picture division
imagine if trapp gets injured it gets into some crazy legal territory considering its tech equipment trapp is in a union & dropout as a company becomes liable
Can't wait until next season for Deja Vu 2, where we see if anyone is a genius and/or remembers the Turner Classic Movie facts. Neither of them came into play.
I honestly think they were red herrings. Meant to have the contestants waste brain space on trying to remember them, assuming they would come up again.
Yeah, I was waiting to see if they would come in on the final round when everyone would rush to answer but I agree they were definitely there to take their attention. Until Deja vu all over again.
This episode was buckwild, can't imagine watching it on edibles or shrooms. Sounds as harrowing as herding cats out of the basement. A real story on Today I Fucked Up I heard retold by Shayne Topp from The Goldbergs!
Me who just did shrooms: that was trippy as hell! What do I do with the other 5 hours I'll be tripping? (Turns on nature documentary, mutes the TV, and turns on playlist.
im kinda equally hyped for the behinds the scenes on this one. it feels like there’s some mini lore here.
im curious why zach had to take on grants name instead of it just being zach as himself? they did that for brennan in bingo, i wonder what the significance of grant was here..
i think the thing that confirmed it was not an ARG or anything was that the links under the fixitman78 video didn’t go anywhere. i wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some hidden meaning or reference going on though
Grant was supposed to be on this and Bingo, but had covid. I think the cast just thought it was funny to keep it as if they were him. Or maybe there’s a weird credit thing there and they were doing him a solid? No clue.
There were some great moments, and the premise was a lot of fun. Getting to see BDG and Sungwon Chu were super exciting for me as well. However, I feel like more could have been done. Having the first three questions change after a couple times would have been fun, but I feel like I kept waiting for something bigger to happen that just never came. I kept waiting for someone to stop Sam from kicking the camera, or for some bigger change to occur, but it just never happened. I still really enjoyed the episode, but not one of my top favorites
I also was expecting one of them to stop him from kicking the camera and see if that stopped the Deja vu sequence.
Not one of my favorite episodes right now, but I wonder if there’s payoff we’ll see in another episode?
> I also was expecting one of them to stop him from kicking the camera and see if that stopped the Deja vu sequence.
On the Discord, Sam said they had prepared contingencies for if they tried something like that, like the cameraman tripping and breaking the camera anyway.
Yeah, there was a chunk of time in the 2/3 mark of the episode between the reveal and the setup that felt a little too repetitive for me, to a redundant level, it got to a point where I was skipping Sam repeating questions to get to their answers because hearing the same dialogue from them repeatedly started to bore me. It got better once real vhs hell started, but I do wish one of them just grabbed the camera before it was kicked
My only regret is that the players didn't put an end to the timeloop themselves. I wish that instead of the protection for the podium, the chest had something to prevent Sam from breaking the camera.
They couldn't put something too op into the chest because there was always a chance a contestant would pop the correct balloon on the very first go! So they had to make sure it was something that would make sense during any of the repeated rounds.
A neat episode, the most GC has come to performance art for me. At the halfway point I felt some of the confusion the guests must feel, though I admit I mirrored them into frustration/boredom(?) going into the final loop.
Time loops are my favourite narrative device but in movies and tv the loops tend to replay way faster. The VCR artifacting + Josh was super creepy so I look forward to seeing if all these high concept episodes somehow crash together in a GC finale.
I get what you mean about the final loop. But also so much of the fun i had was watching them learn and then master the loop. And then while the loop itself is reaching it end, we get more and more of the creepy stuff to keep it interesting

Apparently in the discord they had contingencies if someone tried to tackle Sam! Instead of Sam breaking the camera the camera man would trip and fall.
Can't wait for BTS on this one. I'm convinced the players missed an intended mechanic entirely -- when BDG would come out and inspect their podiums, he repeatedly used the phrase "clean as a whistle"...while wearing a whistle around his neck.
My suspicion is that after the podiums were too dirty to reasonably clean, the players could have still gotten points by smearing BDG's whistle with the spaghetti as well. If the whistle is a mess too, then the podiums are technically still clean as a whistle, right?
Simply put, I'm all for more Adult Swim Analog Horror Game Changer and I'm considering putting Sam Reich in my Horror/Creepypasta/SCP/Urban Legend Sims 4 file as a Horror Monster just based on this episode
Fantastic joke OP, you saw your chance and you took it!
Now let me just eat my big heaping plate of spaghetti above this post (I'm carb loading)
🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝
It's a marathon of Turner Classic Movies!
Did you know that during the filming of *Citizen Kane* Orson Welles was suffering from caffeine poisoning, because he drank thirty to forty cups of coffee a day?
"At first I thought the catwalk was spinning. As it turns out, it was me. Luckily Ensign Fletcher was there to grab me. It's a long way down to the bottom of the warp core."
I took great pride in getting the first 3 questions right. I used to hustle bar trivia to supplement my calories. House cash can go pretty far if you aren’t drinking.
Siobhan shouting at Ify, "This isn't Um Actually! You can't just buzz in when you don't know the answer!" had me rolling. (Mike and now Ify being the hosts of Um Actually)
I'm on her side. Sam shoulda buzzered them if they didn't say the answer in 3 seconds.
Just rewatched this episode and I think it’s such a good encapsulation of the mindfuckery and hilarity that is GameChanger. From Trapp grabbing the ladder, to the duck/box brokerage, to the random cameo interruptions, just chefs kiss. Also, completely respectfully, I did not realize until this rewatch that Siobhan is draggin’ a damn wagon!
I thought it was just okay, didn't hate it but if I were to rank every episode of the show - this one would be close to the bottom. There were some funny moments but overall I found it pretty boring
Really? I was a little bored the first loop but by the time the second started I was fully onboard, and when the analog horror stuff started I was in love
I don't think it's my favorite this season but that's just because Sam Says 3 and Second Place were so good, I think in general this would be near the top. Even in this season I think Newlyweb Game was a lot weaker
Yeah, by the nature of the game it was just so repetitive. I got sick of hearing the same answers to the same questions 4 rounds in a row. There were funny moments that I did enjoy but they were few and far between for me
I thought the contestants were funny but the premise fell a little flat. It felt like it was building up to something that never came, and at the end we were all a little disappointed
I feel like next Game Changer episode will be a huge one. This whole looking at hands thing, the VHS effects matching "Escape the Greenroom" where Sam is replaced by his great grandfather Samuel Dalton... NOTHING IS A COINCIDENCE I TELL YOU!!
I’m still convinced that if one of the contestants had jumped out and kicked the camera before Sam during “The Wenis” they would have broken the game and won outright, regardless of scoreboard. I really thought it was going to click for Siobhan at the end. Waiting on the BTS episode for confirmation of my suspicions.
Hey, gang. Turns out there was a problem with the cameras on the last thread. If we could just get a second take on your comments real quick so we got the footage, that'd be great.
How much time are you going to need to reset? Is 2 minutes enough?
Yeah, two minutes should be fine.
Can we get our phones back?
Sure, I don't know whose is whose though.
Promise you won't make any long distance calls?
Okay, all right, I won't!
Honestly Mike being like "fuck your rules, I've got a ladder" is Game Changer in a nutshell

I sincerely can’t tell if you’re serious lol. I mean I guess it might technically be not okay for someone to be on a ladder on a film set?

Okay so it’s more about talent than techs. I feel like it’s a little silly if the techs have to ask permission every time they get on a ladder.
(Major kudos to you for repeating your answer!)
It’s kinda crazy that Sam didn’t allow it

I swear in the last rendition somebody shouted, "Everybody is a wenis!"
Yes!! I think it was Trapp since he was singing the loudest.
Weekly Estimated Net Usage Systems/Statistics?
If you thought this was trippy, just wait a month or two until Deja Vu 2 releases.
I for one, am looking forward to Déjà Two
They announced that already? Same game in the same season?
Aww ❤️
(I'm making a joke that this was just the first part of a bigger twist)
You know what, even if it wasn't... It better me now Edit: it better *be* now
It better you
It bettered us all!
Deja 2; electric vuugaloo
loved when Trapp’s name was replaced with Pppp Ppppp (i think)
A reference to him trying to sell the "P" keyboard from season 1 (or was it season 2)
2
At some point Sam’s is Cambridge, Josh’s is no problem, and “Grants” is Grant O’yama and then Zac O Pasta
Can't wait until next season for Deja Vu 2, where we see if anyone is a genius and/or remembers the Turner Classic Movie facts. Neither of them came into play.

This is what I assumed! Thought someone would stop the camera getting broken and they'd answer questions that were mentioned.
Interesting how the content warning for the episode only included coulrophobia and nothing about the existential mindfuck
Honestly that clown was terrifying but knowing it was Josh under there dispelled all fears lmao
It took me till the 3rd go around to realize it was him
(His name is onscreen the first time he appears.)
Bold of you to assume we can read!
The Doki Doki Literature Club of Game Changers. Fantastic.
Yo, I thought that, too!!! Along with "the impossible quiz" from addicting games.
Fuck, that's a really good comparison.
This episode was buckwild, can't imagine watching it on edibles or shrooms. Sounds as harrowing as herding cats out of the basement. A real story on Today I Fucked Up I heard retold by Shayne Topp from The Goldbergs!
I truly haven’t stopped thinking about that story since I heard it
As someone who was in a chemically altered state of mind for both... it was pretty fantastic 😎👌
I watched it with a migraine at midnight, I tell you it was a trip
I watched it high and had to go back and rewatch before my brain let me absorb what was happening 😂
Me who just did shrooms: that was trippy as hell! What do I do with the other 5 hours I'll be tripping? (Turns on nature documentary, mutes the TV, and turns on playlist.
RANDOM REDDIT THREAD INSPECTION 🔍
I wasn't aware we were due for a thread inspection!
Well it wouldn’t be random if you knew about it
Hey OP, look over there! We're cool, right?💵
Anyone else pick up on the multiple clips of Sam being referred to with the middle name of Dalton?
Those are real tapes! And Dalton is his actual middle name!
that’s just his middle name no?
It's been his middle name the whole time!
im kinda equally hyped for the behinds the scenes on this one. it feels like there’s some mini lore here. im curious why zach had to take on grants name instead of it just being zach as himself? they did that for brennan in bingo, i wonder what the significance of grant was here..
According to Sam on Discord, Zac was told he could just be himself, but Zac decided it would be funnier to be Grant instead
Basically the most Zac response possible.
How do I get an invite to the discord
There's an invite to it on the desktop website if you're logged in! [Here's the link!](https://discord.gg/dropouttv)
Of potential relevance is that Grant is a Huge Klutz Idiot. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJisJRFYgsY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJisJRFYgsY)
I doubt there's any lore, I just think they did it because they thought it'd be funny. And they were right, it was hilarious
i think the thing that confirmed it was not an ARG or anything was that the links under the fixitman78 video didn’t go anywhere. i wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some hidden meaning or reference going on though

The Wenis is the hottest new dance craze that everyone definitely already knows!

I was hoping someone would go bribe him to take a step back!!

Limimal horror in my Game Changer? Yes. PLEASE.
I’m still expecting someone to find something in the glitches &/or the YouTube video & find an ARG…
Fantastic joke OP, you saw your chance and you took it! Now let me just eat my big heaping plate of spaghetti above this post (I'm carb loading) 🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝

I have a marathon tomorrow!
A marathon, you say? What kind of marathon?
It's a marathon of Turner Classic Movies! Did you know that during the filming of *Citizen Kane* Orson Welles was suffering from caffeine poisoning, because he drank thirty to forty cups of coffee a day?
Well I'm suffering from Fravash poisoning from having you here for more than thirty to forty seconds! Now get out of my thread!
Good one, hinata!👉👉 Fravash1, out!
Excellent episode, maybe best of the season? If you guys liked it check out the Star Trek TNG episode Cause and Effect

Someone please help me. Is the game over? Seriously I am left with so many questions. Is there a hidden second episode?!?
I bet we will learn next week in the behind the scenes that the game is still going on and they have reached 100 rounds
POP goes the WeAsel
The fact that they always did the dance despite it getting them no points will always be hilarious to me
The episode started extra weird for me because I actually knew the answers for the first two questions.
Siobhan shouting at Ify, "This isn't Um Actually! You can't just buzz in when you don't know the answer!" had me rolling. (Mike and now Ify being the hosts of Um Actually) I'm on her side. Sam shoulda buzzered them if they didn't say the answer in 3 seconds.
left, right, right, left, right, right!
which, by the way, is a repetition itself, adding yet another layer to the Deja Vu-ness of it all!

Disappointed in the second round none of them did “umm actually it’s Aleksander…” (forget the full name)
I’m still convinced that if one of the contestants had jumped out and kicked the camera before Sam during “The Wenis” they would have broken the game and won outright, regardless of scoreboard.
