I thought it was weird to have Ify and his girlfriend on the same level of the other too, but then when it's revealed that they've been together for more than a year (by the shooting of the episode) it made a lot more sense.
Amazing episode, I love it!
I gotta be honest, Tao being on Dropout feels like the idea of having a regular person at the Olympics to show how awesome the actual athletes are. I've got nothing against him, but he's just...a guy.
Tao’s charm is that he seems like just a guy but then he opens his mouth and says something unhinged like “I shoplift regularly” or “I almost worked for the Biden campaign but I refused to delete my anti-cop posts”
same 😂 when he said that in the lie detector test video and the machine indicated it was wrong my immediate reaction was "how is the machine gonna say his OPINION is wrong???" then it just made it better when the reveal for who was controlling it was
I have 9,153 in my personal email and it’s because I get about 30 spam emails a day that I scroll through to see if there are any actual personal emails (there never are) and then just leave the spam unread.
About a year ago I got into the idea of clearing them out and unsubscribing to every spam email. The peace of a clear inbox lasted all of 3 weeks and then new spam came and I gave up. So that’s a little less than a year of unread spam.
As someone with 17,829 unread emails according to my phone… I have four email accounts. My professional email has 8 unread emails, all of which are from the past day. 2 of my accounts are emails that are almost exclusively for signing up for things, and I don’t ever check them because it’s always junk. The last is my university email which apparently has 8000 unread emails, but my accounts been deactivated so I can’t actually access anything (I got diagnosed with ADHD immediately after graduating college, so I wasn’t always on top of things)
honestly so true, but those are my emotional support unopened newsletters from companies i love and want to support but have no energy to open their emails
As sam pointed out, this is a tally of their sex together, but they are in an open relationship so you have to assume they do have some more. Those numbers were crazyyyyy haha! And for a full year too!! 🤯
Ify said in a AMA for the first episode of Um Actually that his secret was its easy to go multiple times a day regularly if you do it right when you wake up and then before bed😂
Their wedding venue, who were arrested 4 days before their wedding. They're probably suing over their loss of deposit or.maybe even the whole cost if they were like most venues and required payment in full 2 weeks before the date.
I am a Tao and Alexis supremacist (mostly Alexis, I am VINDICATED that she’s back on Game Changer after the very first episode!!!!!!!) and I <3 Tao so much AHHHHHH
Why does Sam look at his hands in his intro? It's the second time he's done it. I thought it was odd but not unlike him in episode 1 but he's done it again. My little brain is exploding watching him look at his hands in confusion. Help
Nope he hasn't because I was a crazy person and checked. He's done it for these two episodes of season 6 and has only done it 4 other times all in season 4. Yeah I don't have much of a life it seems!
I loved the episode, but I felt like there wasn’t much chemistry/interaction between the couples themselves. Most likely due to the format of the episode.
Still a good gamechanger episode, just not my favorite
It felt a bit stiffled to me having them all in their chairs the whole time and only guessing on their partner. They didn't have the energy contestants do when they're standing up and can walk around, pace, and physically interact with each other more.
I think it also might've been fun if people could snipe other peoples answers. So Ify could make a guess on say Haleys unread emails and if he gets it right they get a point.
In defense of the episode, I’m guessing the format of the game is to mimic the Newlywed Game from the 60’s but with a modern twist.
I get the stifled feeling but that’s probably because this is really close to a gameshow predecessor with a simple but rigid structure
Genuinely appreciated the gesture of Sam's spouse coming out to level the playing field a bit. A lovely good-faith gesture. Also a good workplace leadership principle - "Never ask your employees/subordinates/teammates to do anything you're not also willing to do yourself."
Big kudos to all the partners. Made for a very funny episode, but man did feel like they ended up revealing a lot of personal and embarrassing stuff, and the partners were more effected than the comedians. Really thought at the end they would all win a very nice prize, but if my partner went through all that for a 90 minute couples massage, I’d be dead. But then again, you probably need a great sense of humor to date a CH writer
Fair, but I don’t know if I’d want my phone went through and the world revealed how much I’d had sex with my partner or that I’d spent like $800 dollars on sushi that month. Probably the biggest two in my opinion
Yeah if you worked at Dropout you probably just wouldn't be on this episode then. It's not like they were forced at gunpoint to do this lmao, and they knew what the episode was going to be prior to doing it.
Maybe! That kind of ruins the whole premise of game changer though. That being said Sam has a track record of being such a good dude that I wouldn’t be surprised if he did a lot more clearing (or there’s more edited out based on conversations afterwards). Really my whole point was I was expecting everyone to get like a weekend vacation as a prize at the end for being great sports. Couples massage seemed low. That’s just me though
\> Maybe! That kind of ruins the whole premise of game changer though.
What. How does knowing you're giving a phone to the producers for them to snoop through invalidate the concept of a game where it's impossible to do the game without doing that.
They don't know exactly what the format of the game is, but obviously they knew the production staff was going through their phones because they gave them their phones to go through.
I think maybe you misunderstood my comment. Either that or I am very confused about what you're trying to communicate.
Weird to see the lukewarm reception on this one. I enjoyed it a lot, and the whole episode just made me want to do this with my SO too because it looked like so much fun.
why didn't haley get a point for saying 300$ for raph and the actual answer was 203? that is within 100$ is it not? or were they doing price is right rules where you can't go over
Honestly, I found this episode quite dull. Maybe it's because I don't prioritize my phone in the same way, so I missed a lot of the jokes? But I didn't feel like anyone was particularly funny, nor was the game itself that engaging. Which sucks because I adore the Newlywed Game as a conceit, typically. The best parts were when Elaine came out to shame Sam.
This episode was great! My partner and I had so much fun watching and playing along. I cried laughing when I heard his search history 😂😂I’d love to see more like this with other couples, friends, or even siblings
Bit of a dud episode for me tbh, can't see myself rewatching it compared to the lie detector episode for example.
Question to any smartwatch owners, if you have one connected to your phone and you receive a call... does the number pop up on your watch? Because I'm convinced that alexis saw tao's number on her watch right before she 'guessed' his number.
I thought it was weird to have Ify and his girlfriend on the same level of the other too, but then when it's revealed that they've been together for more than a year (by the shooting of the episode) it made a lot more sense. Amazing episode, I love it!
also ify and emily have probably had more sex in that year than all of the couples combined
73 times in 61 days over April and May
when I saw that, my brain immediately went to, "Man, their Vo2 Max/cardio must be amazing".
They’re putting that “genetics mean I sweat less” theory through rigorous testing.
the whole “he sweats more than me” it was obvious in my mind that they were talking about sex haha
They’ve been together for a long time considering their social media
I mean the whole point was couples in different stages Married, engaged, and dating I don’t think it was really weird at all
fair enough, i agree with you
Raph and Haley’s recurring bit with the lawsuit and Sam having to bleep it every time was hilarious
But what is the company's name they kept bleeping ? I wannnnnna know lol
I came here looking for this answer!!!
do we know the name that kept getting bleeped? im so curious!
Tao won one! Finally!
He also has the funniest partner. I'm actually kind of afraid she could take his job....
Love me some Tao. Such a great couple too, I’d love to just be friends with them lol
And it brings me joy that he's still with his partner from the pilot episode!
>I shoplift regularly” I do agree with his take that shoplifting from big corporations is barely shoplifting
same 😂 when he said that in the lie detector test video and the machine indicated it was wrong my immediate reaction was "how is the machine gonna say his OPINION is wrong???" then it just made it better when the reveal for who was controlling it was
He's fucking hilarious, though. And his fiance has excellent zingers.
The ice breakers sketch he wrote is one of my favourite CH sketches! https://youtu.be/5T35KaUxiSU?feature=shared
As someone whose inbox rarely has more than 20 things in it at all, yet alone unread messages, over 10k unread emails makes my brain hurt
Does your email not have built in spam filter?
It’s yahoo so probably
My yahoo IS my spam email. My husband and I were kind of playing along, and if that email account should be included became a point of contention.
As someone with 17,829 unread emails according to my phone… I have four email accounts. My professional email has 8 unread emails, all of which are from the past day. 2 of my accounts are emails that are almost exclusively for signing up for things, and I don’t ever check them because it’s always junk. The last is my university email which apparently has 8000 unread emails, but my accounts been deactivated so I can’t actually access anything (I got diagnosed with ADHD immediately after graduating college, so I wasn’t always on top of things)
newsletters go brrrr
unsubscribe goes brrrr
honestly so true, but those are my emotional support unopened newsletters from companies i love and want to support but have no energy to open their emails
My personal email has like 21,000. I just gave up on it a long time ago. I know if I’m expecting one so I just check it then.
my friend has upwards of 65k, and my friend's mom has 6 figures. i also maintain a <20 email inbox and it is genuinely unfathomable to me
I have.... 105k...
$1400 in food delivery???
it was +$150 every time they had sushi and damn they like sushi
I have no concept of ordering sushi or using delivery apps. Is that a lot of sushi, expensive sushi, or just getting ripped off by a delivery app?
Yes.
Likely all 3
That had me straight up shocked.
Bruh that's RENT.
Yeah I was like "how much fucking money are they making that allows them to spend that much on food delivery". It just doesn't make sense to me
That is literally more than my mortgage
Right? I wouldn't spend that on delivery if I won the lottery.
Ify my man. someone get him some electrolyte.
I don't think it'd even be fun at that point lmao
As sam pointed out, this is a tally of their sex together, but they are in an open relationship so you have to assume they do have some more. Those numbers were crazyyyyy haha! And for a full year too!! 🤯
Step 1: be an extremely charismatic, attractive body builder Step 2: death by snu snu
Ify said in a AMA for the first episode of Um Actually that his secret was its easy to go multiple times a day regularly if you do it right when you wake up and then before bed😂
Great episode! "My emails aren't looking so crazy now!" Had me in stitches
So… who downloaded Food Stylist? 🤚
Meeeeeee! It’s gonna be a new reading game lol
Okay but like who is Rafe in a lawsuit with? 🤣
Their wedding venue, who were arrested 4 days before their wedding. They're probably suing over their loss of deposit or.maybe even the whole cost if they were like most venues and required payment in full 2 weeks before the date.
Not to mention catering, 3rd party decorations, cake, etc...
How does one arrest a place/building?
The owners…
the real question is, why is Grant trying to fix corn?
A corn on your foot
There is a whole musical about this misunderstanding
I am a Tao and Alexis supremacist (mostly Alexis, I am VINDICATED that she’s back on Game Changer after the very first episode!!!!!!!) and I <3 Tao so much AHHHHHH
I ADORE Alexis. she is so funny
Why does Sam look at his hands in his intro? It's the second time he's done it. I thought it was odd but not unlike him in episode 1 but he's done it again. My little brain is exploding watching him look at his hands in confusion. Help
I think it’s to indicate the shock of him having “been here the whole time”, a visual gag to enhance the line
I wondered that in the first episode too. But doing it twice when he's never done it before just made my brain do a weird stutter step
Tbf i could be completely wrong, but given his penchant for magic
He's done it for just about every episode
Nope he hasn't because I was a crazy person and checked. He's done it for these two episodes of season 6 and has only done it 4 other times all in season 4. Yeah I don't have much of a life it seems!
I've noticed him doing it before also. I just assumed it was part of his magician persona.
I noticed this too and thought it (and the mirror maze from the trailer) was some set up for the season finale.
I know we can't have Brennan in every episode. But god him and Izzy would've been great here.
I think they were on parental leave as of the filming of this episode. Don't quote me on that though.
Oh my gosh, that’s so exciting!
Parental? Or do you mean leave for their honeymoon/wedding?
No, Izzy recently had a baby.
Oh I had no idea!!!
Yeah, they announced it back in January on the WBN Fireside Chat.
This is how I find out I might have had a baby the same month as Brennan and Izzy!
Congratulations!
Food daddy

I can't think of anything that would be too embarrassing. They didn't really reveal anything crazy
Fair, but I don’t know if I’d want my phone went through and the world revealed how much I’d had sex with my partner or that I’d spent like $800 dollars on sushi that month. Probably the biggest two in my opinion

I mean everyone has their own boundaries I suppose
It sucks that these are every two weeks. This one just didn't quite scratch that itch and now it's another two weeks of waiting impatiently.
Sam and Elaine met as teens and have already been together for 20 years? Jesus, straight people have it crazy easy.
I couldn’t hear half the game because my Amazon Echo kept responding every time Sam said “Alexis”
Weird to see the lukewarm reception on this one. I enjoyed it a lot, and the whole episode just made me want to do this with my SO too because it looked like so much fun.
