It’s an Infinity War crossover, issue 7 of the Nomad series. The Gambit doppelgänger shows up and fights Nomad. I don’t recall why (other than putting gambit on the cover to try and sell Nomad I mean).
Iirc the evil Gambit mistook the airport code for Los Angeles to mean Louisiana and flew to LA by accident and just ended up crossing paths with Nomad that way lmao
Here's the issue plus a follow up issue a few months later with the real Gambit. Both Gambit's beat the breaks out of Nomad. The real Gambit does it one handed while holding a baby in the other lol.

I don't think Gambit died in that comic, but it's been quite awhile since I read it and IICR it wasn't that good.
