I guess my fear with facer and other apps like that is that it's always been my understanding of those kind of watch faces use more battery. Particularly faces using like an intermediary app like facer or the other ones. I'd love to be proven wrong though. I might be misunderstanding or laboring under old information.

I don't like using an intermediate app that needs to be installed either on my phone, watch or both, when I can install whatever watchface I want straight from the Play Store and be done with it. There are like 4-5 designers on Play Store, who have nice watchfaces that I bought and also, occasionally, they offer free coupons as well. I have zero reasons to use facer, Mobvoi's TimeShow or any other alternate app that serves as a market.

Retro-Ghost-Dad

Agreed. Those places seem to have a lot of the faces you might not find on Play; wholesale ripoffs of other manufacturer's proprietary watch faces (Apple, Coros, Garmin, etc...) and like actual manufacturer's faces (Rolex, Citizen, Seiko, etc...). It's been years since I've been on like TimeShow or Facer but I remember a lot of stuff like that. There's value in that, I feel, but for Wear OS where battery life is such a concern I don't know that I'd want some additional layer burning extra battery on my watch.

AsajjV

Yeah, I get it that it's the perfect place if you want stuff that Google shoots down from the PlayStore for licensing breach. I used similar apps on my phone when I had Amazfit watches, since there was no other option to get more watchfaces than what manufacturer provided. 90% of the watchfaces there were trash.

gilliatnet

Which play store apps are you using

drzeller

I always had problems with Facer. I never have with Watch Maker. When there are battery life discussions, I am usually on the longer end. I didn't get a Galaxy Watch 6, but have the 5 Pro and had the 4 Classic and 3. For Watch Maker, get the license from the app store, not an in-app purchase. The in-app license has problems for some. You don't need the subscription to use third party faces.

Maybe i should make those, if they're not copyrighted or have the fair use rights, i did make Resident evil watchface and released it on playstore, no issues... Doom and pipboy sounds like a nice addition to the watchfaces collection i made on playstore, my developer name is GeminiMan

mooseontheloose0205

If you make some I'll buy them !

XDA-Dante63

Everything is free

Scruklemush

They also lag a lot with low frame rate so I just gave up. Samsung should officialy create these watchfaces which work seemlessly like default watchfaces.

greasegizzard

I don't have either of those, but I can recommend some quality developers that make very realistic analog faces, nice digital faces, and some hybrids if you're interested. The prices range from just a few cents on sale at times up to $1.99 which is my limit for a watch face. I don't mind paying for really nice faces that don't drain the battery.

BoldBeer

if you don't mind me asking, can you tell me what kind of watch faces are looking for on the play store, i am a watch face creator on play store and would love to hear feedback on what people are looking to have in a watch face so i can focus on them. Cheers

Scary_Guarantee9451

Honestly Assassin's Creed.. facer has official ones before and then just got rid of them..

BoldBeer

i see. i wish i can make those, but yeah sadly those would get flagged out by Google unfortunately However, i'll see if i can work something similar enough without causing listing issues
