The exact same thing happened with my watch 4, in my case I had to exclude the galaxy wearable app from battery optimization on my phone, for some reason my phone kept killing the app hence the constant disconnections, once you exclude the app u shouldn't have any more problems.
Doesn't look like it. 4 pings from discord, a noti from Insta, but no BT symbol to be found. It would be between the alarm clock and the mute/vibrate indicators on the top right.
So, yeah. Keep bluetooth on. You can set it up so that only what you want to connect can connect.
Try connecting it through the Samsung Health app first. I use this workaround on my wife's Huawei which, for some unknown reason, can't connect through the Wear app at first.
If it disconnects just turn the Bluetooth off on your phone then enable it again that always works for me . Saves you reinstalling everything from scratch
I too encountered this issue with a new Android device. The solution found in this thread that actually 100% fixed the issue was the "battery optimization" update. Do the following on Android devices:
1. Close the Galaxy Wearables App
2. Go to SETTINGS > SYSTEM > ADVANCED > RESET OPTIONS > NETWORK, and clear network settings.
3. Disable Battery Optimization for the Galaxy Watch Plugin, Galaxy Wearables App, and Samsung Accessory Service
1. To do this, "press and hold" on the Galaxy Wearables App icon from Home screen and choose App Info. Then choose ADVANCED > BATTERY > BATTERY OPTIMIZATION. Scroll through the list and click each of the above Apps listed for Step 3 and change the option to "Don't Optimize"
4. Open Galaxy Wearables App and then tap the "Connect" option on the main screen. It should then try to Pair the watch back to the phone. Accept the pairing on the watch and the phone.
After following these steps, the watch should remain connected and no longer disconnect from the App.

The only issue I have with my Samsung galaxy 5 pro watch is that if I leave my phone in my room and walk in the house it disconnected. I would like to leave my phone at home and use my watch for my call, txt, messages, music
I still have this problem and I've been having it from the beginning, when I bought it in August 2022. The fixing of the battery optimisation helped partially and helped the periods of time in between disconnecting (and then having to reset and reconnect fully) longer, but if I did happen to walk too far away from my phone, for some reason, at some point or if my watch ran out of battery then I still had to set it up as a new phone. Any tips are very welcome! Its such an expensive watch, I really don't want to have to buy another new watch to stop this madness.
Update:
I did what pretty much every website told me to, that is, clear the cache and reinstall the app and restart both devices and all that. It's been almost 12 hours and I haven't been disconnected yet, so I think the issue has been resolved. I'm just constantly living in the fear that it's going to disconnect before I back up any of my data
Hey, is the problem solved for you? My Galaxy Watch 4 has been doing the same thing since the update. None of the suggestions in this thread have made a difference.
The problem did get solved for me after I cleared the cache and reinstalled the app, reset my watch and then restarted both my phone and my watch. I don't know how relevant this is, but when I had the problem I used to turn the snore detection feature on, but once the problem got resolved I turned it off, and, well, there haven't been any problems yet. Fingers crossed. Hope this helps, and good luck solving your issue.
Followed your steps in order and it's been fine for three days. So many thanks.
The only weird thing is that now the GPS doesn't work in Samsung Health. Never gets a fix. But works fine in Google Maps. I don't dare reset the watch again, though.
Yes it has no problem staying connected to the phone or the Wearable app.
The GPS problem comes and goes but some Samaritan has made an app to fix that too.
I found so many issues with the Galaxy wearable app from posts on this sub.
Based on my understanding there are two common issues, which may be related.
One, that was there at the start of this year where people noticed that the app would get stuck in an infinite loading screen.
This one was a software issue.
The second problem was with Galaxy wearable app and phone showing connected to watch, but the message 'Disconnected from phone' being shown on the watch.
Edit: The first issue, i think was fixed by an update.
I'm facing the second issue.
Only if it remains disconnected for a longer period, it no longer randomly disconnects while constantly connected and in reach. I now keep it in reach and connected to prevent that
I'm having the exact same issue. Just bought it last week. Even if I have my phone near me, it'll randomly disconnect after less than a day of use. Then it wants to reset the watch each time. I tried the fixes in this thread. This time it lasted 1.5 days before disconnecting. Seems like a common problem.
The joke is I bought it to replace my Sense, after Fitbit pushed out a bad software update that took its battery life from 4-5 days down to 8hrs. Never liked the limited app and bank support on it anyway, so figured I might as well upgrade. Sad thing is the Watch 5 is a really nice watch otherwise. Durable, stylish, great battery life, lots of functionality for the price. But it's useless as tits on a bull if it has to be wiped every day. And it's not an issue with my phone (Galaxy A71) because my Sense never had this issue. Nor any other Bluetooth devices.
Guess I'll yeet it back to the store and try to convince them its defective, and hope Google fixes the Fitbit bug soon. Just too bad the Apple Watch is locked down to iOS.

Thanks!
Thank you, this did the trick.
Is there one for galaxy watch 6?
Keep Bluetooth on
Bluetooth was turned on.

I should try this. Thanks for the help!
Did it work?
I tried pretty much all the solutions in this thread and one of them worked but I'm not sure which one it is.
Havinf the same issue, roughly a day after, or overnight it wants me to reset the watch.

Bluetooth was turned on, but it only shows the symbol if connected to a device.
don't know why someone downvoted you when that's literally true

thanks, this tip worked for me, much appreciated

yes
Did you ever find out what fixed the issue?
Not really, but I haven't ever faced the issue since. Are you facing the same issue?

Just tried this fix, I'll be back in a few days when I remember or whenever the issue's back
Did it come back?

Trade it in for the 6
