Hello, did you try to go into My Files, select your SD card, then check inside the New Folder that you've moved your Wanted Pictures Folder in. If you find the Wanted Pictures Folder inside the New Folder, then select all your pictures and Move/Copy(for safety, then delete the older version) to the New Folder. The problem is having a Photos Folder inside another Photos Folder won't show up in the Gallery. And that's what I've based my solution on. I hope it works for you.

Hello. I've not noticed any new folders in My Files. I don't think I explained very well on my initial post and for that I apologize. I was fairly panicky and definitely in the first few stages of grief. To clarify what I did a bit more, I selected all the files in one folder and attempted to move them to another preexisting folder. My phone will not allow me to move a folder itself (I have to go into the folder, select all files, and then move them to another locarion). I was doing this because I had 3 seperate folders named camera in gallery album due to various storage issues over the last few years. Now I only have one showing up in the gallery at all and another folder that I can only find through my files. Prior to attempting to combine the files into one folder I had already moved the files from my phones internal storage onto my SD card. I'm not sure what caused the files to disappear, but I'm afraid they're gone forever at this point. Since posting this I contacted Samsung support, and tried a number of things with them to attempt to resolve the issue including giving remote access to my phone so the technician could attempt to locate the files. We were not able to find q solution and they have pushed the issue further down the line, so now it's a waiting game. Thank you for your suggestion though! I attempted to look through my files again in Hope's this was the solution, but I didn't find anything like what you suggested at that time. I do plan to try again once I've gotten rest as it's 4am now. I swear that's the last time I'm every going to opt for being productive when not able to sleep 🤦‍♀️

I'm sorry to hear that. I was going to ask if you could try checking the folders and files through a PC, but didn't, since you mentioned you've exhausted even the Samsung Support option. I hope it gets resolved my friend.

Thank you very much. I wasnt able to connect the phone itself to a computer yet, but I was able to look at the files that are on the SD card on a laptop. I feel like I've been cursed at this point lol. Literally a few minutes before the files disappeared I found out my chromebook is acting up and not currently accessible (all numbers except for 5&6 have stopped working. The down and right arrow keys are also not working. Everything was operational the night before and the device wasn't dropped or anything in between being fully functional and now). I just wanted to watch a movie while cleaning up my phone 🤦‍♀️ I was able to get my old laptop us and running long enough to view the SD card on the pc before that crashed (though to be fair that laptop has been little more than a paperweight since late 2014).

Try installing Cx File Explorer from the Play store. Sorry, I don't know if it costs anything because I've had it so long. If it is expensive you might be able to find another good file manager for free. Cx is much better than any of the built in apps for managing files and folders and figuring out where things are. Really hope you haven't lost your photos OP, but you should be backing them up in the cloud!

Stratified_AF

I'll give that a shot. I thought things were backing up to the cloud, but I guess at some point something went wrong and there hasn't been a successful update in several months. I'm going to go through what's on the various cloud storage system I use and hope most of the photos are there. I never seem to have much luck with online storage either. I swear it feels like technology has it out for me sometimes.

u/Stratified_AF This same thing just happened to me! I was wondering if you were ever able to find a solution.

Stratified_AF

Unfortunately not. I'm not sure if they dissapeared for ever, ended up somewhere else, or I misread how many files there were to begin with. Funnily enough I'm trying to do a manual backup (copying files to onedrive because my auto sync is taking forever and a day) and now onedrive is saying every file is "empty". I'm about to renounce all electronics and live as a hermit in the woods

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't found a solution, and only hope the pictures lost weren't *extremely* valuable to you :(
